If anything tghis event should make you more determined to do parcahaar. look at the jehovahs witnes, they knock on everyone door talking about Jesus. We find it hard to talk about Sikhi even in the gurdwara. In the Koran Majid it says that "once you have discovered the truth, do not keep it to yourself,but let others know so they can know the truth as well" . Now if we look on Sikhi as the truth, we should be doing a lot more parchaar than we currently do. Once I saw a lealfet stall set up in my town centre giving out free leaflets on Islam, and a big banner saying " Come to Islam". Outside every church you wil see a slogan about Jesus on a board by the entrance. Have any gurdwaras got any? Why cant we have the same atttiutude? chatanga

I saw a newstory about an amritdhari girl ran away wiv a muslim man, and this was in Punjab, so its inevitable it will happen elsewhere as well. However let me just add that plenty of baptised christians etc haven converted to islam as well, even priests and stuff and high ranking clergy from the vatican as well. dont lose heart . Pwala remember that to stand you need land. You seem to think that we can float around in the air or something that we dont need land. Of course we need land. Remember that the hill chiefs wanted Guru Ji to vacate Anandpur, but Guru Ji refused. Why? it was only land and Guru Ji wasnt going to take it to sachkand with him was he? Why didnt he just give up? didnt this narrow the potential of the Sikhs? Why didnt Guru Ji just say dont worry one day we'll take the world? Nihaaal, i would recomedn that you listen to all of the speeches of Sant Jarnail Singh during the dharma yudh morcha. Then you will understand about Khalistan and the call for it. There have been Sikhs who were arrested in 1984 and are still in jails with no case against them. ITS been over 29 years now, why are they set free? You know summat?? , with my brush and 50 litres of paint, i could paint 10 really big matchstick men and then underneath write these are our gurus. some of the murals are about hindu gods and goddesses so the sgpc would not care as i wouldnt if they were whitewashed over . Some are about our Gurus which are all fake, as no-one knows what our Gurus actually looked like. As art itself, i dont even think they are that good, as from what ive seen on Nihang Niddar Singhs website.

If you read the sakhi of Salas Rai Tijori you will know that on visiting Guru Gobind Singh <admin-profanity filter activated> Rai saw Guru Ji feeding his baaz meat of other birds. And the blood was spoiling Guru Ji chola.

so lets say in about 20 -30 years supposingly the panjabi community start to say words a bit differently, does that mean the sgpc will change the gutka sahibs again to suit the way ppl speak? . . . bani shud remain as its written in puratan saroops what you'll actually find is that more and more people are beginnning to use the bindis especially those from outside of panjab, as more and more Sikhs can speak hindi, which means they use the letter Z a lot more. I use Z when i speak panjabi, and when i read it as well.

In spoken panjabi there is no letter Z, however in the written langwij there is. the letter j with the bindi is still spoken as j. panjabi only has 35 letters, whereas the persian script has 52, including 4 variants of Z. To us panjabi speakers we replace the Z wiv a J, instead of zulm, we say julm etc. However becuz Jaap Sahib conatains a lot of langwidges, the word rozi for example is persian but in panjabi we say roji, as it is read in panjabi.if we read it in persian script we would say rozi. this is one of the reasons that punjabi is sometimes called a lower language ie peasant langwij. sorry i should have said that i wanted to make a move on honey first, whilst i was at skool, and as i didnt get into sikhi until my early 30s I wish that i had come to to it earlier and because of this my knowledge of gurbani is very limited. this make you hate me a little less?

I would have tried harder at skool, and also made a move on a girl i liked at skool. also i would have tried to study gurbani harder.

Jassa , I must correct u on your info about Jassa Singh Ramgarhis. He didnt create his own misl, the misl he joined was called misl sanghnia, and after Jassa Singh became leader of this misl, it was still called misl sangnia, and only after he was entrusted with the Fortress of Ram Rauni, or Ram Garh, he became and subsequently the misl became known as misl ramgarhia. the misl was there already, it just changed names under his leadership. chatanga
