  7. yup... no problems with delhi airport.. not every sikh is from punjab.. many live in delhi and surrounding states.
  8. Hanji, Balbir ji you have understood it correctly. In my opinion, he meant that sword is a metaphotical meaning of Akaal Purakh. Just like Dayalu, kripalu, etc. Sword here means the shakti.. in simple terms, that One is the shkati or power or cause for everything. How? Thats explained in whole Gurbani. Don't take sword to be literal, its like saying Balbir Singh is like his father, does it mean you have become "father"? No. That means you just have some characteristics (shakal soorat, or chaal, or the way you talk, etc) which is similar to your father. Hence, generally the Nihang samprada, being trained in martial arts, relate 1 with the sword (shakti) in just a pictorial metaphor, because its in their nature. A businessman, will try to see profit/loss in daily activities, while a scientist wud try to reason, hence a martial artist would try to see martial aspects and be happy Again you are taking it literally. For example, there is nothing wrong if someone says steam, ice, waves, drops, ocean is nothing but water from the substratum point of view. Similalry, everything is 1, because that 1 = Brahm, is the substratum, or basis, of everything in this universe. How? Again Gurbani further explains that. :biggrin2:
  9. Mehtab ji, as you know there is a disagreement between scholars of the panth regarding 17 or 11 Bhatts. Basically sampradas, kavi Santokh Singh ji, bhai Vir Singh ji etc.. say 17. While Prof Sahib Singh and scholars after them say 11. Pandit Kartar Singh Dakha say 19!! Moreover, regarding the pics shown above, they don't give any decision since (read my previous post) even the spellings of svayie and extra || are mismatched. so there is certainly some copy error. Hence, not good examples. so is it Tal or Kal? - I dont know. Since the printed saroops have Tal, hece in my opinion I would read as Tal.
  10. Some Gurmukh pyara did not copy it correctly.. as u see it after Ik Oankaar Satigur Prasaadi|| the second pic has two extra || and spelling of savaiye is different in both pics. so thts a copy error and can be applied to kal/tal as well. thts y majority is used and majority of granths have Tal.
  11. Balbir ji, 1 is vaachak for Brahm because thats the vishya anubandh (topic or matter of discussion) laid down by our Guruji. For example, if we open a book on organic chemistry, lets say the title of the first chapter is Carbon, then you get to know that organic chemistry is all about carbon. Then it goes into detail for explaining what it wants to tell about carbon in the chapter and further in all chapters. Similalry, Guru Granth Sahib ji starts with 1, so question comes to mind what is 1? That 1 is Brahm. How do you get to know that it is Brahm and not anything else? Well, if we continue the example as above, the title of chapter 1 is Carbon. Ok, what if someone doesn't know anything about carbon? Lets say the book is meant for graduate students. Still, it gives the basic definition of carbon atom and its structure, discovery etc in beginning of first chapter, or atleast a paragraph, even though for a graduate student it might seem redundant. Hence, if there is a slight doubt in student's mind that organic chemistry is not about carbon, then by reading the first paragraph or the whole book he/she can say that organic chemistry is all about carbon. In the same way, to make sure that 1 is indeed a vaachak for Brahm and nothing else, whole Guru Granth Sahib is there to be read. If not whole, then atleast with just Mool Mantar any doubt regarding 1 not being Brahm will be cleared. Good question though!
  12. pal ji... thts just your opinion tht Bhagatji's paath ucharan is "slow and be-ras". tht paath is for practice for santhiya.. ask jarnail singh ji (whose paath u find is very rasila) and he will tell u abt bhagatji's ucharan.. u will be surprised..... even when u learn something like vaaja it indeed sounds "be-ras".. with proper santhiya u can read paath fast and with subtle sounds of aunkars and sihari.. u will never miss any lagmatra and u will see it wont break the chaal and lay. talk with any senior DDT gursikhs.. and they will tell u abt how high respect of santhiya they have for bhagatji... even gyani thakur singh took santhiya with him.. thts other thing that he doesnt teach to pronounce lagmatras because it sounds "be-ras" to general public.. infact listen to jaap sahib by a nihang with all the proper chaal of various chandds .. i guess u will say tht jasvant singh ji's jaap sahib style is beautiful..

  16. WJKK WJKF its good to see the chardikala of bhai gurbaksh singh ji.. i m totally supporting him for this cause.. i m not offending him in anyway.. i have great respect for him.. but just a question for our future.. y we sikhs have opted for this hunger strike style protest.. like i m not complaining ..just want to assure myself... becoz we know this govt and badal and this system will not change.. even if he dies it would be like a fly has dead and the system will remain same... y dont we sikhs just give a kick in the butt of such a sarkar.. do not vote at all for anyone .. do not let pass any legislative bill.. just protest ..stop the work.. stop going to govt offices.. stop driving taxis trucks.. stop working on farms.. stop the money exchange.. their are hundreds of ways.. y the need of hunger strike.. yes he is still in chardikala.. thts because he must be a pure at heart gursikh.. no doubt in that.. he will surely accept death smilingly... but what wud be the result.. one more added in the list of shaheedi.. and the time goes on..!! its soo frustrating... i feel like crying and sometimes angry..
  17. For Waheguru ji.. its all a HIS game.. tamasha!! if we as kids are playing on the beach.. we built many sand castles happily.. and smash it happily so .. yes holocaust.. or ram raaj.. doesnt matter to Waheguru ji.. He is enjoying the play of HIS toys (jagat, jiv).. whether they fight or love.. and according to our deeds or karams HE bestows "gifts" (sukh or dukh)... thts y HE is said Nirgun!! but for best players of the game - 1.mahapurakhs (HE gives the best gifts - brahamanand, or makes them His own saroop, or even gives darshan or help them in HIS Sargun form) 2.mahaevil (HE also gives them His best gifts from the other side of spectrum.. thats terrible joons, terrible pain, terrible death..etc) the more we read/listen Gurbani.. the more we will tend towards Guru's teachings and our free-will would turn towards doing good deeds.. if not in this life.. then in future lifes as our sanskars will be full of impressions of gurus teachings.. So.. as I said.. HE is truly Wahe.. its better if we increase the prema bhagti in our minds and be the best players of the game (1. or 2. thats ure choice)!!
  18. WJKK WJKF an example: u know that hydrogen consists of one proton and one electron.. how many of us have actually seen or experienced or witnessed it? we just know it cuz its in our science books. only if we go deep and somehow get hold of electron microscope or we get to masters or PhD level only then we can really "experience it". similarly we only "know" what hukam is (infact, many of us dont even know it), but still if assumed we just know it as we know the hydrogen atom in the above example. only very few elevated souls have really witnessed the hukam (the will of Akaal Purakh) and when witnessed, it becomes hard to explain as explaining theory of relativity to grade 1 students. so yes, Guru ji reminds us wht the hukam is.. Guru ji tells us that hukam is with u and its naam, its simran, its remembrance of akaal purakh. since Guru ji reminds us again and again to do simran, to do good deeds this proves that we have a free will and we do get away from the path of anand!! but everything is under guru's hukam.. right?? confused??? yes - everything is under HIS command!! and u know what .. even "our" so called free-will is also under HIS command!! a dog can say that i can roam freely in the backyard.. but in reality its the owner who has let the dog to raom freely in backyard. so great saints have said that ..hey waheguruji... yes , we have free will but this free will is given by YOU.. hence waheguru ji ..everything is from YOU.. everything is under YOU!! hope it clarifies the doubts.. and we drop on on the feet of gur shabad.. and our free will becomes prema bhagti which is guru's huakam and then we will see that indeed our will is God's will !! WJKK WJKF ************************** its really a good topic
