What I dont get is why Sikhs dont go there from Punjab and give the khasi people are good beating. The ones that are attacking Sikhs. If Sikhs cant even defend ourselves against Khasi. Then what have we got left. Where are all these so called khalistanis and brave warriors now? Time to show what we are made of or become cowards and run away.

Yeh I have heard about airbnb. But not sure if it would work long term. As it all depends if you get a steady stream of people who will rent it out. With a regular renter at least you know you will get the rent paid long term and not have to worry about getting more one off stays. Its pretty hit and miss. If your lucky to find a place in a touristy area. Then it might work out with people making bookings regularly. I just hope I have enough for the deposit.

With all due respect to jigsaw. I think he just googles a topic finds a few articles about it. Then wham makes a post out of them. It makes him sound like hes some historian full of knowledge. I would say read the reviews carefully. Also its best to spend at least £300 + on a decent laptop. anything under that price and you will get something not really worth it and practically useless due to insufficient memory and software ect. I recenyly bought a laptop for £300 and it has been great so far

Making money to survive is irrelevant? Making money is essential to our survival. Also when you make money you can also give to the poor. Sikhs are meant to give 10% of wealth to the needy. You cant beat a proper desktop computer. Every aspect is usually better. Better screen, faster, more storage, memory ect. build quality. Proper keyboard. Also more professional. But if your looking for something portable. A laptop will do. If you just want to everyday things like surfing the web, playing videos ect. I would reccomend dell, hp lenvo is also a upcomming brand. Acer laptops are also very good. but for top quality go for a hp or a dell. both are equally good. Although I think hp have taken over them recently.

Yep was defo looking into something like this.You cant beat buying property for the ultimate reliable investment. But I think like alot of things, house values has hit a boom. I dont think people buying now will make big profits like those who purchased houses 20 years ago. Currently I am looking to do a normal residential mortgage. The reason being I could still let it out through alternative ways. Was looking to purchase up north though as London prices are way to high at the moment.

I work in IT and am a web designer. Due to my work field I could do the marketing for the buisness. Such as creating a website and designing adverts/flyers ect. Yep, the restuarant idea kind of fell away. As I would have to take up a 10 year lease. Which was quite pricey with no gaurantee it would work. Hence I was now looking for a a food stall to rent out as alternative. Counseling and alternative therapy seems interesting. Was actually of thinking of that. I do have a office room I could use for it.

By and large most Sikh castes have no issues with each other. I have never heard of khatri discriminating against a tharkan or rajput discriminating against a Kamboj ect. All Sikh castes pretty much get along with each other. Apart from the jatt caste who want to create divisions in the society. They blatently go out of their way to cause issues. Such as caste based songs and movies such as jatt and julliet and . no if no butt sirf jatt. Also most use their last name instead of Singh or kaur.

Not sure if this is the correct section for this topic. Anyone have ideas of a sure to make money on the side. While doing a normal day to day job. I had an idea to dabble in opening a restaurant. But it involved to much time commitments and set up costs. Thats why I was thinking of a small buisness that is quick to set up and will provide a side income. I have some capital to invest but in the current economic climate I want to be sure I chose the right industry and sector to go in. In terms of current resources. I have a office that I am renting. I think casts issue is more of an older generation thing. The new generation of Sikhs are starting to see that caste ect is wrong. This is in the uk. But back in India. Caste issues are still deeply entrenched. india and Punjab is a whole different ball game. That is why people often feel more comfotable marrying a non sikh. As they dont have to deal with the whole caste issue which complicates things in the sikh comnunity. We are a casteist bunch. Lets face it. Our Gurus did their best for us to not follow caste. But we could not leave it.
