  1. To Op Gur Mukhs explain within the video of Ganka, the story goes gursikhs asked Guru Jee has there been someone who was so sinful that a normal person would think they were destined for hell and were saved
  2. Jaspreet your issue is the same the world around, the world is burning in fire which no doctor or medicine can put out, its a shame because there should be proper Gur-Sikhs on this forum who have reached Sachkhand/Nijgh Khar which can help guide people in their times of despair. Your problem is not understanding the internal family which gurbani tells us lives in sukam roop and influences the mind, from the average 79 years we live we are subject to the bachaans we gave when we were in the mothers womb where we promised to over come the vices which burns in everyone. We are so in the dark to who they are, we have no idea why we feel the things we do. You need to understand the relationship of Puan (oxygen) to the mind, what role the Punj That (elements the body are made of) have, who it is that controls our dreams when we sleep. All these things are taught by Brum Giaanis who explain what Sat Gurus bani is really telling us. Just to explain abit further there are 2 realms one that is within Puan and one that is detached from Paun, why Paun is important is because Dukh (anguish) comes in the form of vichaars (thoughts) we are bound to thoughts through puan, once we understand the relationship of paun, to the mind, we will start seeing and understanding what the bachaans we had with Vaheguru were.
  3. I want to keep this topic for the elder members who are serious about Sikhism and have a real interest in following Gurbani and are Practically searching for the Path. Subjects i was thinking of covering and looking for other peoples input are: - Path in Sikhism, where do Jatahs fall within this, the confusion around large personalities in all Jatahs and does that mean its not debatable or that we are misunderstanding what they were telling us and are maybe all saying the same things. - Realms. What does this mean for the implications of a possible spiritual realm and being accessible this through jaap. (reading this for many it may be the status quo, and in a way watered down because we have been subject to this notion of powers and Spiritual realms in our normal day to day thinking, so weigh this notion in your mind compared to possibly the discovery of Aliens, which notion for you is more of a" wow" thats true? "God or aliens" - Simran, as much of gurbani is based on the topic of simran what importance does that make to you, how high up the scale does it fall compared to education, work-aspirations and family. - Blind leading the Blind, in the world of education we expect our Uni professors and teachers to be educated to high a standard, and be qualified in subject they teach. What scrutiny should we give the people who are teaching the Path of Mukhti. - Faith over Evidence, is Sikhism a faith based religion, or is there more to us. For now i think thats enough topics, anyone feel free to pick one and we'll take it from there.
  4. To sum it up 92% of Gurbani is about Naam abiass, so you would think Guru Mahraj would have covered how to do simran in depth. Of course they have and is the deepest subject on earth because it relates to the physical realm and the unseen realm (Mun, Kaal, Chitar gupt and so on) So best thing is to learn from people who have practically gained spiritually, they will teach you about Dasam Duar, Unhadh Shabad how to Pass bavh sagar and be able to go in to pargash and be able to see the sukam forms like Punj choor. All the other people who havent reached this spiritual level of being able to hear/speak to Vaheguru are just not able to fully delve-in deep and teach what it means to do simran abiaas. Best bet is to listen to Sant Isher Singhs, Bhai Seva singh jee and Sant Waryam Singh jees katha, they talk about what it means to reach Dargaah and meet Sat Guru in Sukam form.

    Bachans

there is no reference to this is Gurbani its all hearsay and speculations spewed as hard fact
  6. Funny i wonder what the significance of tying your hair where you think dasam duaar is, Dasam duaar is where the realm of Naam starts from something only the sukam Mun can access. So why tying your hair would be significant i cant understand. Best keep to basics and learn how and why we cant access Dargaah.
  7. You need to learn what Gurbani says about why the mind in calesh, its a very deep topic, best thing is to do is listen to the lectures from Bhai Seva Singh Jee

    Bachans

Bachans that were given to you, were for you, and would have been shared with the wider sangat if they were meant to. Best to speak to who ever gave them to you and ask if it is ok to share them.

How is one from a Islamic-christian orthodox background, Mum christian Dad Muslim?
  10. Maybe this is for another Topic or Thread, but no bani has more power over any other Bani within Guru Granth Shaib, i know people dont mean to say that, only that they have heard that Sukhmani shaib has alot of power and helps if you do alot of it. It doesn’t work this way all bani has come direct from God it has all the same power. What Bani is, is a guide for how to Defeat the Demons that have control of 99% of the world, which make us sin in lust anger and so on.. Only the ones who are free from these Burdens of Maya have the answer to our Pains. Gurbani speaks of Simran again and again to the remedy to everything and i mean everything, Gurbani states all of Gods powers have been put in to the mantar Vaheguru. So listen to Sant Isher singhs jee, Sant Kartar singh and Sant Waryam singhs audios to learn more about what they tell us about how to meditate and find peace.
  11. Tbh no one here i dont think is a Doctor of Mental health if there is im sry, but mental health is real issue felt by alot of people, and well people have no idea what others are going through, though i think all mean well. But what you need to look to do is speak to someone about the depression, having suicidal thoughts isnt healthy. As for the question of Hex or having been given cursed, well that cant be the case, as it takes a farly high avasta to give someone some type of curse, you will have heard of the story of Banda Singh Bahdaar who tried you use powers vs Guru Gobind singh. The point im making is that you are not Cursed you need to get that out of your head, 2nd if you want peace and it is a real shame what you are feeling you need to spend at least 1 hour in the morning and evening doing Simran Abiaas. If you need anymore information feel free to contact me.
  12. For me this is abit of a shock as knowing of the Truth, is what drives me in Life, for people just turning off that part saying and I dont care to much, well if it was that way we wouldn't have what we call modern science and would still be living in the dark ages, its the slow transition of knowing more and more is what has the attributed of the Physical world giving us what we have things like Gps, or Planes or Nukelier Plants to medicines that keep us from serious illnesses. Put aside the spiritual side, which i think is the most important humans venture, if we stop moving forward in the Physical world we wouldn't have new technologies or medicines to cure new disease its because of forward thinking people we have what we do now in the world. Other side to the question what if we put a blind eye to Gurbani, well Gurbani Says "Bin Simran Naark Pyai" without meditating on Vaheguru its a strait road to Hell, also Gurbani says this Breath we have been given will one day be accounted for in the court of Vaheguru where our good deeds and bad deeds will be dissected and according to your karam you will be given your next Life. So alot rides on knowing what the truth is.
  13. Its called Baraag its happens more your mind becomes more Nirmal, its a good sign means bani is filtering through doesnt happan to many. Step after this is to start following Gurus Path of Buhgti Marag and realization of the sins we do and try combat them, from there more spitiutal things will be gained.
  14. Kaal is the overseer of the universe he was made and put in-charge by Akaal Purkah khandd pathaal dheep sabh loaa | sabh kaalai vas aap prabh keeaa | His role and the role of the other Sukam Jeevs that reside within this body have been told within Gurbani, some of their names you will know of like, Daram Raaja, Chitar Gupth, Jaam Dhoots, Atma, Mun and others. These sukam jeevs have there roles of which Kaal is the overseer. As for if the punj choor can effect the body, they cant not directly there effect is felt on the mind, Gurbani says this mental roog will effect the body, things like chinta, asha, balahsa will cause physical aliments, like cancers, depression and other illnesses. There is only 1 medicine Gurbani speaks of for every aliment sarab rog kaa aoukhadh naam | The Naam is the panacea, the remedy to cure all ills.
  15. Im sure people will focus on one line you wrote and then maybe get to the other parts of your question later, manly do you like this Girl and is it because you like her and see a future together that you are looking to become Sikh so that you are more favourable to her parents if it gets serious down the line. As for if you want to learn about Sikhism there are basics and the deeper stuff from the reality of life and why we are here and the Truth of whether God is real and what it means. So I address the Basics 1. We are created equal man and women 2. We are to share with our family (the world) what we earn and our food it was our 2nd Guru (prophet) who created the open kitchen which is open to all regardless of wealth and status 3. We bow our heads to the Knowledge and light which is within the Guru Granth Shiab Jee, bowing our head is recognition we are followers of that teaching 4. We meditate on the Naam of the lord which is what gives the mind peace from the chaos in the world These are the basic of Sikhism it goes much deeper explaining what the Mind is what sin is how we free our self from the net of Falsehoods.
  16. Naam and Gurmantar is different, Naam is what Guru Nanak dev says is what Unhadh Shabad is, Gurmantar is what we chant to free our mind from Maya through Jaap we achieve Naam, which only Sat Guru and can give, you hear Naam through Dasam Duaar. I just have to say to the materialist that have emerged of recent, that it may be hard to wrap your head/comprehend things of this nature , but Gurbani itself say it’s hard to grasp what we cannot feel or is test and is invisible to the mind. I see it as you can either be in 2 camps people who take bani Literal or a Story and when things like Ridh Sihd and spiritual powers are talked about we say they are metaphors , if you’re in this camp its quite a juggling act to hear things like Baba Deep Singh had his head severed and still walked or that Bhai Mati Das was sawn in half and was still reciting Japji Shaib or that Guru Har krishan Shaib with a touch of a stick had a blind and deaf man recite hymns from the Gita, all i have to say people that find it hard to believe do you belive in God? or is Guru Granth Shaib just a guide in living a truthfull and Honourable life, if you believe in God then do think that if he took form he could do actions which are outside of normal. For the people who believe that God has powers which we can reach through Sat Guru, do you think there are people who have reached this Level if they have reached this level where they have Met Vaheguru through devotional meditation and going through the stages, do you think they can guide us to also meet Vaheguru also. I have been told my Gurmukhs that they are many hurdles that the spiritual mind has to go through to reach Naam. For one we don’t know what Kaal looks like or where Mind sits within the body what punj choor look like, or how deep there influence is on the mind, the state of the mind has been portrayed in Gurbani saying the mind is like blind and deaf person with no sense of direction literally. Futher from this once you start doing meditation what powers Kaal has to use against the mind, what things he can show the mind to redirect us, and make us believe that we had a true spiritual experience, because never before have we had a experience we think because we are doing simran this cannot be false God wouldn’t show us something like this.. We assert that God could not do this or that, as we “think” why would he do this and that and so on and so on, but it’s not the fault of Guru we are ignorant to Truth, it’s the role of a Sikh to have no preconceptions of what the truth should be, truth does not mould itself around our life experience or there to make what we want to be true. maadhhavae kiaa keheeai bhram aisaa || O Lord, what can I say about such an illusion? jaisaa maaneeai hoe n thaisaa ||1|| rehaao || Things are not as they seem. ||1||Pause|| It is the truth that we need a guide or “middle man” to meet Sat Guru from inside (there true form) they are called Vachola in gurbani someone that acts a person to guide, they are also called Brahm Giaanis or Gurmukhs though they don’t call them selfs sants or Sadhs or Brahm Giaanis they have told me that we are all equal and there are only 2 states Suhagan (wife of God) or Du-Hagan (widowed)
  17. I dont think anyone but a Gurmukh can say what a astral plain is, people in this tread that say they have travelled to a astral plain are just added a certain word to their experience I have to say the ignorance of people is unbelievable, im frustrated at people due to their lack of reasoning, I put it down to not having a Good teacher on matters of Spirituality and general worldly common-sense, a rule of thumb is "if you dont know about something dont assert Truths" especially about Religion or God or Suchkhand, only Gurmukhs that have gone and seen the other side been and are able to travel to Dargah have the right answers for what takes place when you die, and i just have to add its written very clearly within Guru Granth Shaib about what takes place after you die. But due to peoples ignorance you have some saying “ahhh dont worry about death live this life as who know what happens”, i mean really.. I can expect this from 10 year olds, the point im making is dont say you know about something if you have NO IDEA and people that say they travel to astral plain, well why not ask our Guru about what is said about these plains, People Gur Bani is your ONLY Guide all the answers are here you dont need to ask random people we only need people who can See and Speak to Vaheguru and Guru Granth Shaib, Gur Bani Covers everything. People you have been left a Gift which is the Guru, do your selves a massive favour and learn what they have to teach us…
  18. done i kinda wanted to see a score at the end like a personality test, though i guess it wasn’t one of those definitive surveys just gathering information, would be good to see the study sample at the end.
  19. 13 Mirch* You have to understand, being sikh doesnt automaticly make you a decent person, far from it, we are all human, and prone to the impediment of Maya, I have talked about it before, about what Guru Shaib has said about what we humans are without Naam, mere thives because we use these senses for evil, eyes to lust, ears to listen peoples chugli, the skin to indulge in pleasures, the mouth to speak hate and ninda and smell traped in delicacies. Read this shabad about the state of the world from Guru Arjan Dev Jee nainahu needh par dhrisatt vikaar | The eyes are asleep in corruption, gazing upon the beauty of another. sravan soeae sun nindh veechaar | The ears are asleep, listening to slanderous stories. rasanaa soee lobh meethai saadh | The tongue is asleep, in its desire for sweet flavors. man soeiaa maaeiaa bisamaadh |1| The mind is asleep, fascinated by Maya. ||1|| eis grih mehi koee jaagath rehai | Those who remain awake in this house are very rare; saabath vasath ouhu apanee lehai |1| rehaao | by doing so, they receive the whole thing. ||1||Pause|| sagal sehaelee apanai ras maathee | All of my companions are intoxicated with their sensory pleasures; grih apunae kee khabar n jaathee | they do not know how to guard their own home. musanehaar panch battavaarae | The five thieves have plundered them; soonae nagar parae thagehaarae |2| the thugs descend upon the unguarded village. ||2|| oun thae raakhai baap n maaee | Our mothers and fathers cannot save us from them; oun thae raakhai meeth n bhaaee | friends and brothers cannot protect us from them dharab siaanap naa oue rehathae | they cannot be restrained by wealth or cleverness. saadhasang oue dhusatt vas hothae |3| Only through the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, can those villains be brought under control. ||3|| Im afraid to say that most of the world, bar a few people are-not under the control of the Punj Choor, the most upsetting thing is we don’t even know it, we have, from such a young age been this way, it has become a part of their psyche. So don’t be so harsh on people, this is not the way we have been taught to navigate the world, only through patience, compassion and tolerance will we be able to change minds, let’s be the ones who have conquered Maya 1st then look to change others. I’ll address it now because I think it will be brought up, Yes if we have a moral stance which falls with what Gurbani says, we should speak up, but maya being what it is we have no idea if or when we might fall in to ego so tread carefully. I’ve heard stories of Sants who done Ardass every day to keep them safe from Hankaar because there sangat was growing and so many people looked up to them, that they were afraid of losing Vaheguru by making even 1 mistake.
  20. You have to ask yourselfthe question, are you happy with the feelings you have towards the other sex? The 5 demons are the reasons for lust, are you happy being moulded to follow these sins, if you have convinced yourself Yes, then in a way you have picked your path, but from Guru jee's perspective lust is a no no Lust is, is subjecting a certain view of what you view to be attractive, whether it be the way they look, their eyes there body frame and so on, so you are failing to see that they are the Form of God. And indulging in any sin leads to humiliation in this life and the other, personally i find it heart breaking to see Sikhs with the uniform of our Guru doing things which taint the Pureness of Sikhism, so when doing things remember one thing we are the ambassadors of our faith and what we do reflects on our Gurus.

    Need Help

Baji gurbani is not against any person, we are all children of Vaheguru, and treated equally, though there are guidelines to what is acceptable. We have been told within Anand Shaib that we have been manipulated from birth to be attached to maya, as this force is a unseen force gurbani says we go our whole lives oblivious to its control, and the personalities we acquire become something we attribute to being “Me”, though this is not the truth, the true state of mind, not under the control of Maya, Punj Choor is laid out in gurbani, being one of no attachment to Maya (Tria Gun). I can go in to more in-depth if you would like, though simply putting it though, Attraction is a trait of KaaM (Maya) which is determined by the Punj Choor, and so any lust towards women in a sexual way is just as frowned upon as attraction towards Men.
  22. Curious, where are you getting this information any links to Gurmukhs that have reached sachkhand or maybe within Gurbani, would be nice to read the writings of how to get to sachkand through sleep paralysis, also you talk of the inner eye what is this and what are the signs that you are going in to dasam duaar like any signs this is happaning to you, thanks
  23. People will make a lot of a normal sleeping disorder, and blow it out of proportions. Whether out of lack of knowledge or just the wanting to believe something super natural, but I have to say nowhere with in Gur-bani does it talk about being able to transcend in to sachkand through a sleep disorder, if this sleep disorder was the way back to sachkand im pretty sure the whole Naam thing and concurring the 5 demons which are Sukam (spritual form) would have a big waste of time to explain in such depth by Guru Arjan Dev Jee. I just think people should stop exerting spiritual certainties where none are applicable, keep to the basics, and well if you wana believe crack pot rubbish then dont couple it with Sikhism and confuse people. That’s a major sin in sikhi to guide people to believe certain things in the name of Sikhism. P.s I get sleep paralysis at times so I know what im talking about
  24. Naam has different names in gurbani, Unhand Shabad, Naad, Thoor, Kinkiri shabad its only through Naam can we defeat Punj Choor, we get to Naam through Gurmantar Jaap which is learnt is Sadh Sangat eis dhaehee andhar panch chor vasehi kaam krodh lobh mohu ahankaaraa | Within this body dwell the five thieves: sexual desire, anger, greed, emotional attachment and egotism. anmrith loottehi manamukh nehee boojhehi koe n sunai pookaaraa | They plunder the Nectar, but the self-willed manmukh does not realize it; no one hears his complaint. Through Jaap we progress stages to get to Naam, from Roum Roum simran to Pargash to other stages. vaajae panch sabadh thith ghar sabhaagai | The Panch Shabad, the five primal sounds, vibrate in that blessed house. ghar sabhaagai sabadh vaajae kalaa jith ghar dhaareeaa | In that blessed house, the Shabad vibrates; He infuses His almighty power into it. panch dhooth thudh vas keethae kaal kanttak maariaa | Through You, we subdue the five demons of desire, and slay Death, the torturer. This is the meaning of life to reach Naam this is the hukam of Guru Nanak to reach Naam and win the Five Thives which have been the cause of our seperation. eaeko naam hukam hai naanak sathigur dheeaa bujhaae jeeo |5| The One Name is the Lord's Command; O Nanak, the True Guru has given me this understanding. ||5|| And due to the confusion within the Sikhs especially our Punjabi folk, who looking for a quick fix, look to baba to give them Naam, but it states Only 1 being can give you Naam bin sathigur ko naao n paaeae prabh aisee banath banaaee hae |9| Without the True Guru, no one finds the Name. Such is the making which God has made. ||9|| bin sathigur saevae naam n paaeeai parr thaakae saath n aaee hae |5| Without serving the True Guru, the Naam is not obtained. You can read until you are exhausted, but you shall not find peace and tranquility. ||5||
