  1. That in bold is something that can't be legislated for or ignored, and it's absolutely key. Until we wrap our heads around it, the human race won't progress as it should. Personally, being into mysticism, I believe these differences arise from the individual level of development of the undying part of us that accumulates knowledge and learning throughout each of our lifetimes. Others of a more rationalistic mindset might veer towards explanations rooted in IQ, etc., which in all honesty, might be relevant, too. The Nature Vs Nurture, for me, is too simplistic, and it doesn't explain all possibilities.
  2. That's the anomaly that defies explanation. You can't win no matter where you fall on the respective spectrum of "Too Punjabi / Not Punjabi Enough" and "Too English / Too Pendu." I stopped trying and just became ME. That's good enough. Like it or lump it, I don't care. ?
  3. Yes, that does surprise me. You'd think they'd kind of begrudgingly respect the "seva" (not my perception) undertaken by the Gandhi dynasty, especially against Sikhs, but Modi's crew don't seem to like them at all.
  4. A few months of familiarising myself with your peers, lol, has crystallised a few issues in my mind. 1) They are bloodthirsty savages for whom violence is the automatic recourse to any type of opposition. 2) They are very, very thin-skinned. Criticism, even subtly administered, is akin to an open insult. They struggle to differentiate between the two. 3) They crave censoring and denying oxygen to anything that runs counter to their narrative. In conclusion, I'm on the verge of rejecting the idea that such people descend from the type of civilisations and populations described in the Indian epics. I'm calling bull5hit on it all.
  5. The generation that came before mine (people in their early 40s with kids who are now entering their teens) are beginning to get angsty when they see their children have little to no knowledge or interest in their culture and language. Now, these Punjabi parents are freaking out, because they've realised their kids are, in essence, Europeans with tanned skin, lmao. Nothing wrong with being white or European (at all), but something is obviously happening in the minds of these parents when they see what type of youngsters they've raised and are in the process of raising. Unfortunately, they seem to think pushing the kids off on Punjabi schools on the weekends will rectify a lifetime of cultural neglect. It won't. The phrase, "Locking the stable door after the horse has bolted," springs to mind.
  6. If he was Western, i.e. white, based on the information in bold, I'd say he was dead-on intelligence services. That's not normal. I can't start a Sikh charity tomorrow and end up in those places even after a year.
  7. I've been pushing that line on here for a while, but nobody seems to be biting. I think we underestimate the relief felt by parents foisting their offspring on state-run indoctrination centres for eight hours, i.e. schools. And then we complain when the children grow up to the opposite of what we hoped they would be. All the discipline and positivity imparted at home largely flies out of the window as soon as the child steps outside the front door; doubly so if the child's sangat / peer group is 5hit. I'm not sure I'd go the Amish route, but if things continue as they are in the West the choice between raising a well-adjusted, wise child instead of a skittish, confused, ideological sponge parrotting the secular doctrines of the day, is becoming apparent with each passing day.
  8. I'd like to ask you a question considering that you're neck deep in a certain type of Indian on a daily basis: why does the image they have of themselves and their nation that resides in their mind, doesn't match the reality observed by the rest of the world? It surely can't all be attributable to state propaganda?
  9. Bring them home and into the fold. Conduct a Ghar Vapsi program for Romani Gypsies. We need them. ??
  10. The BBC wrote a straight-out trolling article on the Indian-Chinese conflict. They kept repeating the fact that whenever the two countries have fought, India have always been battered and humiliated, lol. It was hilarious.
  11. If we possess any intelligence and foresight in such a situation as described above, we'd be sensible in approaching the conflict like this: If, however, we revert to type, and get hyped up and become easy prey to India propaganda, we'll most likely end up more like this:
  12. I want to know what exactly happens in these non-gunfight encounters. Do they literally brawl and punch each other until death? I wonder if the Chinese use kung-fu, and the Indians use kushti?
  13. Enoch Powell was right, in more ways than one, lol. Ironically, he was referring to the likes of US (broadly speaking), not so much in character and integrity but more as a demographic. It is possible to generally agree with someone like Powell AND not feel victimised or personally offended. The next step is to decide what exactly we should do as a response. If we aren't planning for the worst despite the tantalising taster (of the next few decades and more) offered to us since February of this year, there's something seriously wrong with a person's survival instinct.
  14. You're opening a can of worms, sis, lol. It's nothing to worry about. Nobody is going to come into your life and mess things up for you in your marriage. It's just a residual thing from another time and place. What's truly important is the here and now. Trust me, give your all to your marriage.
  15. Very true. If I were of that frame of mind, I would have the decency not to involve myself in matters which have previously never been a priority for me. But there's always going to be that latent attachment to the community and the people, which is why I guess some people are stirred into action. It's funny because these types of people are considered to be rational types not swayed by overly religious or cultural sentiments, therefore the external "leaders" are drawn to these people / so-called representatives in the mistaken sense that they occupy the moderate ground on which discussion and compromise can take place. That's how we end up getting betrayed and ceding ground in issues we should never agree with.
  16. People of our mentality need to understand that most Sikhs residing outside of India for generations just aren't interested invested in the culture and the religion to the extent that its practice and preservation is a priority. They partake in some of the expected cultural rituals, for the sake of family, etc., but there's a further hardcore minority who I'd hazard a guess don't particularly like any outward sign of their belonging to a religious minority. I'm not knocking them, it's just the way things are I suppose.
  17. Rumours are that Hollywood has always been one elaborate money laundering outfit with the added psychological subversion thrown in for good measure. Film performers are some of the most mentally ill, narcissistic individuals on this planet. It blows my mind how the masses consider these celebrities to be authorities on whichever subject these uneducated twits decide to comment on. I was a HUGE film buff since I was a kid (Western film, not the Indian clown shows), but some time last year I totally switched off from the whole pile of poo. It's dark, dark stuff.
  18. I think some use "Singh" as a surname, hence the female Singhs, lol. I actually think it sounds better than Kaur.
  19. Spot-on. They rely on people giving in to their base motivations and instincts, because they realise most people act without thinking, and are emotionally driven. Makes you wonder about Gurbani emphasising disciplining one's mind to follow the self instead of the self chasing after the whims of the mind. In the instance of the latter, a person will always be at the mercy of external forces; reacting without understanding WHY. Add decades of psychological warfare conducted through the media, and it's no wonder the average person is mentally adrift.
