  1. Feels bad to see those names in conjunction with this type of crime. How far we've fallen.
  2. Or we can develop those qualities in ourselves, so that when said SS has to return to his heavenly abode, everything he worked hard to achieve doesn't collapse and disintegrate within years of his exit. That would be the responsible thing to do, but maybe I'm old fashioned like that.
  3. You have such a pure soul. Bless. Never lose that innocence. Don't worry yourself about these scary people and their devious schemes. Everything's going to turn out just fine. ?
  4. Arvind Virodkar, etc. ?? Can't see his face, just the white of his eyes. I'm joking.
  5. I was watching an Indian cooking video a while back (trying to learn how to make butter paneer, lol), and the cook was a decent looking youngish Indian woman. I swear, every second comment was from an Indian guy saying things like, "Come to my house and cook for me... at night...." or some 5hit like that, lmao. Good grief.
  6. Have you read their comments underneath YouTube videos when they AREN'T trying to be creepy and complimentary? Even then, it comes across as weird, lmao. It's stuff like, "Ma'am, I request that you know you're beautiful and kind, and we love you in India! ;)" They always end with that creepy wink-smile emoticon. I die of second-hand embarrassment.
  7. Do you apne even know the dark web exists? I'm guessing these clowns were sending pics of their privates to underage girls on Insta and Snapchat. I don't think it was a sophisticated process of covering their tracks.
  8. And people scoff at the theory that Muslims are the "pet" minority group that will be used to oppress all other minorities. But, anyway, let's not make this about them, lol. I want to learn more about what these contemporary Punjabi scum are doing that means they get drawn to this filth.
  9. Another important question: is this a North American Punjabi problem? If so, why? What type of Sikhs are migrating to places like Canada that they feel this is a viable mode of behaviour?
  10. We pre-empt criticism in the hope we're spared from the brunt of it when it occurs. Taking the heat off ourselves. It's admirable if done selflessly. It also explains why this particular trait -- when manifesting in individuals of questionable character -- reveals itself as traitorous behaviour in Sikhs. Again, being surrounded by hostile outsiders makes this behaviour a common occurrence for self preservation. Muslims, largely, close ranks with a backs against the wall mentality in order to defuse the situation, and protect the collective. We tend to throw the erring party under the bus in an attempt to save ourselves from the ire of the accusing party by publicly severing ties of association between us and the guilty. It's a way of salvaging the reputation of the majority but it comes at the cost of appeasement; something that isn't respected or admired even by the aggrieved.
  11. Scum. Musleh get knocked for it because you might argue their scripture kinda sanctions it, but what excuse do we have?
  12. You started the fire. Don't get salty when someone refuses to bend over for you.
  13. Read Alexander Solzhenitsyn's Gulag Archipelago and George Orwell's Animal Farm and 1984 before you spout such nonsense. You resident Indians are clueless.
  14. Not you personally, just the idea that Sikhs seem transfixed by the gold of it, and seem to gloss over the other more important aspects of what the place represents.
  15. The way you're beginning to throw your weight around here by using pointed barbs about Mughals and Indian police to shut down discussion in the hope it upsets the Sikh confronting you, says a lot about you. Take your white guilt somewhere else. I'll talk about whatever and whoever I want on this SIKH forum. You don't police my thoughts.
  16. I think so. Most people crave creature comforts and luxury to varying degrees for varying reasons. Others are so deeply invested in their various emotional ties and relationships when alive that they refuse to let go even when they no longer breathe. Someone who sees beyond these trappings while alive won't have any issues stemming from egoistic desires when they pass. Simple living is good but as long as it's true and done without ego. Someone making a show of simplicity and non-attachment in the hope of being praised as an enlightened soul is a charlatan. Unfortunately there are many of these types of personalities among us; they preach simple living and humility, yet consider travelling in anything less than Porsche 4x4s / SUVs, and not lounging around in a mansion with no less than 8 bedrooms, to be an insult to their so-called spirituality. ?
  17. Focusing on the gold is, with all due respect, kind of missing the point. If the significance of Harmandir Sahib fails to stretch beyond the shiny, precious mineral used to cover its surface, then we are in trouble.
  18. Soccer? Not since the 80s. Football nowadays is a nice, middle class spectator sport. There's tiny factions of hardcore hooligans who try to relive the old glory days of punch-ups and alcohol fuelled brawls, but the police give them short shrift and put an end to such behaviour.
  19. That's true. Unfortunately, some are so enamoured by the maya of human existence that they refuse to move on after their deaths despite being encouraged to do so. These are usually people who have lived unspiritual, shallow lives or were excessively attached to loved ones and material things. Why do you think Gurbani emphasises an existence that discourages attachment and excessive indulgence in feelings that trap us in such modes of thinking that aren't easy to shed even after we've shed our bodies. These entities should not be encouraged nor worshipped in this way. People create huge problems for their families by perpetuating the remembrance and worship of these spirits.
  20. Maybe a necessary moment to stir and awaken those of us labouring under false assumptions and delusions.
  21. Someone I know has seen the gold off Harmandir Sahib completely stripped away. It seemed to be in the aftermath of a direct attack in the future, but I don't know much more. He said it seemed as if it was a terrorist attack and not something government related. Who knows.
