sorry guyz i no this is a very old topic - but can any one confirm after 4 years if this event of 'ustad' harjinder singh beating a kid with a kara is true or not and why did they stop teaching gatka in derby ? i have heard rumours about them many times! the reason i ask is that i live in loughborough (close to leicester) where they are teaching gatka on sundays - and was thinking about learning gatka - and wanted to clarify this before i started

in regards to fighting haterz - sikhs need to learn shastar vidya again - not this crap gatka but shstar vidya - (i dont want this turning into a why i hate niddar singh thread) also if shastar vidya is not avaliable, learn other martial arts that are out there, e.g i am very jelous that southall have got that mauy tai started there which is brilliant. + we also need a lot more dasam bani in our lives - and that would be a start

if it is your nitnem bani - what i suggest is just do the bani daily and you will memorise it in a few short months -

WJKK WJKF . i think it was sahib sri guru ram das ji that started the lavaan - but the other guru's sahibs before them all did parkarma around the shabad guru - i remember the sakhi when guru nanak dev ji whan getting married was told to go around the fire but guru ji refused and got a piece of paper and wrote ik oungkaar on it and did parkarma around bani, and lavaan shabad was introduced by guru ram das ji. please correct me if i am wrong bhul chuk maaf WJKK WJKF

i deffinintly know that guru ji had a dog as well (cant remember the dogs name or which guru ji it was - but someone on the forum will know if not ill post 2moro)
