    I don't think it's fair to say South Asian Muslims have low standing in Muslim World. All you can give evidence of this low standing is discrimination of South Asian workers in Arab countries. Which is true but that is not limited to South Asians, even Indonesian fillipino Sri Lankan Muslims have suffered this discrimination. Heck, even Egyptian and Syrian Arabs working in Gulf get the same treatment. Arabs nationalists are very proud of themselves they ridicule Iranians and vice versa. They even got beef with Turks remember that Arab rebellion against Ottoman Turks which must have pissed atta turk and other Turkish nationalist. Besides that we South Asian Muslims don't really care about this. It's more about sticking it to our beloved Hindu cousins with whom we got rivalry. So we got no time to bother about nationalists of other Muslim groups. What baffles me most is that even though sunnis and Shias are at each others throat in Yemen and Syria, Iraq. But they all are equally anti Israeli lol Palestinians enjoy more support in liberal Muslim countries like Lebanon, Indonesia, Turkey, Malaysia etc. Granted that other Muslim groups are more liberal than South Asians but I would be cautious to exaggerate their liberalism by taking into account your average liberal Muslim in West. Many of whom have problem with Islamic regimes back home. It's like judging entire Pakistanis by the liberal behavior of our elite class. Or visiting Pakistani, Arab or Turkish atheist forums and assuming that majority of Pakistani, Arabs or Turks are atheist. But the reality is that these type of liberals or atheists are nothing more than piss in the ocean.

    Apart from Pakistani and Indian Muslims other Muslim ethnic groups are fairly liberal. Unless something extraordinary happens i.e white nationalists start giving them hard time there is little chance of them getting together to achieve political dominance that too at the expense of Sikh community. Apart from Punjabi Muslims no other Muslim ethnic group has any beef with Sikhs.

    No I don't think that Canadian Muslims will be the dominant minority in Canada. Because unlike UK where Pakistanis are largest ethnic group of Muslim minority, Canadian Muslims are divided into various ethnicities Pakistanis, Lebanese, Iranians, Somalian etc and as if these divisions were not enough they are also divided into different sects Sunnis, Shias,Wahabbis , Ahmadis and Ismailis. No single Muslim sect or ethnic group dominates Canadian Muslims. Which is why Canadian Muslims will never replace Sikh minority which is United by single language and single region punjab. This is why half a million Canadian Sikhs have far more MLA's, MP's and federal ministries than a million Canadian Muslims. If my memory serves me right Even in Ontario where Muslims outnumber Sikhs. The Sikhs have more MLA's in Ontario legislative assembly than Muslim community.

    Hahahaha I had a gut feeling that this guy if not a practicing Hindu then he must have some Hindu relatives.From my years on this forum and on FB I I can tell that an average NRI Sikh hates Muslims (which is understandable given UK grooming scandals) but that average NRI Sikh does not go out of his way to criticize Pakistan or call it Porkistan. Hindutavis have some special hatred for Pakistan and those Sikhs who are from Hindu background have the same mentality about Pakistan.

    brother, Jews were present in those countries which were going through scientific revolution and Jews took full advantage of it hence a large number of Jews won nobel prizes. Indian on the other hand were living as colonial subjects when western world was advancing in science.Give it some time Indians and Chinese will catch up.

    How do Sikh commemorate the martyrdom of chote sahibzade ?I mean do some special religious ceremonies take place where the events of martyrdom of chote sahibzade are narrated ? And do Sikh marry in these days of grief ? or is it considered a kind of taboo ?

    As all other religions have some major festivals like Christmas,Eid,Diwali and Holi so I was curious what are some major sikh festivals. And also If Sikhs have any kind of holy day of the week as in Abrahamic religions.

    If that is true than it's shameful to use women for intelligence gathering but i think they have no other option cuz when you send male spy to Pakistan they have to be circumcised which is very painful.

    Something is fishy for instance the name of woman's father is mentioned as Manohar Lal. How many Sikhs are there with the name Manohar Lal. Her own name Kiran Bala does not seems like a Sikh one.

    Spot on!! The way Indian media uses terms such as Sikh terrorists and Sikh militants is very disturbing to say the least.Even though if asked to point out a single terror attack by Sikhs in recent past,an ordinary person would struggle to recall a terror act committed by Sikhs. But still Indian media and even some sections of Canadian media use loaded terms like "Sikh Terror".You Sikhs need to be vigilant and double your efforts to counter such propaganda.

    Yeah that's true but sadly now a days Mehar is just a formality in our region. Mehar was supposed to be some kind financial protection for women in case of talaq but today it has been reduced to a nominal amount ranging from few hundred to 3 or 4 thousand rupees.If you look at old Nikah Namas (marriage certificates) the amount given as mehar was somewhere between 20 to 40 rupees. But that is in Pakistan.I can't speak for Arab or other Muslim countries whether they too pay nominal mehar or a hefty amount.Later is more likely i guess

    Shia sunni does not matter.Social norms are followed by every one.For most of the time its the girls family who pays for dowry .If you are going to marry a Punjabi girls you don't have to pay anything to girls family its the other way around.Girls family gives dowry.However there are very rare instances when a man is unable to marry a punjabi girl or no body is willing is to marry his daughter to him.In that case he would simply buy a pathani (a woman from the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ).He would pay to the father of bride and bring the bride to punjab.I know one such person from my village .But this is in very rare cases.In majority cases its the girls family which provides dowry.I read an article a few months back that some people in Indian Punjab also buy women from poor states like Bihar.But that can't be presented as proof that majority Indian Punjabis pay for the bride.I hope you got my point by now. On the other hand I have talked to many people returning from Arab countries who told me that in Arab countries its the groom who pays to bride's family.
