  1. Like marijuana is said to be a gateway drug, something similar could be said about homosexuality. If you allow one thing, what else could be allowed. It's a slippery slope.
  2. Corporate life is full of narcissists and sociopaths. I have seen Finance Directors turn very "nice" when they have to. In larger companies, you are more of a politician than an innovator. Particular professions like sales seem to attract these types. Companies and departments with overwhelming number of women can be very much like that as well.
  3. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8785039/amp/Female-prison-guard-32-sexual-relationship-depraved-double-murderer-court-hears.html?__twitter_impression=true Maybe it's a good idea not to have female guards in men's prison and vica-versa
  4. It's the covert types that hit you the most. Once you know and see the signs, you can never go back. It's the body language, tone of voice, micro-expressions you have to notice. They give off a certain energy. The overt/grandiose ones are there for all to see.
  5. You can't change your nature but there are steps you can take. Once you are aware of your nature, then it becomes easier. You learn how to spot the narcissist/sociopath better and learn how to keep them at arm's length. Sometimes you have no choice but to interact with them but you keep conversations at a bare minimum. You have keep your boundaries. But of course in our community you have the 'enablers ' who either consciously or unconsciously bring in circumstances where you get dragged into interacting with these types.
  6. The narcissist pick up on the empath. Then they feed off them like parasites. I think the term is 'narcissistic supply'. They feed off your energy, once they got what they wanted, they discard you.
  7. I think it is a mixture of both, partly the culture and some it from certain dispositions. I think certain behaviours can be passed down genetically. It is a society where being honest and decent is seen as weakness and deserves to be exploited and being cunning and dishonest is valued. Punjab has got things the wrong way around, this makes for a toxic environment. I now know why people in India get beaten to a pulp to get them to behave correctly. I don't condone this behavior but I understand. These are people who cannot be reasoned with. If you are person who is by nature empathic, it will suffocate you.

  9. They lack empathy and compassion. They are narcissists and are sociopaths.
  10. Kind of. You get that a lot with people who work in the NHS, like nurses. When see or hear about problems all the time, you see too much of it and it get too much of it that you get tired of it and you adapt to it by becoming detached. It's like a survival mechanism. I think with lockdown over last 6 months with your family it has become more tense. What you need more probably is a holiday and a change of scenery.

  12. Rakhri must truly be Valentine's day for these types.
  13. They definitely have resentment. I have heard some of this underlying remarks which suggest this, " Tu te sirf baharo aiya vah " But the "incest " like thing gets to me and they have no shame. Where as we have grown up with goreh's, " bonk them, <banned word filter activated> that, dump them to get off with that one!" Our elders need to be questioned. How can they bring us up to feel inferior to people from Punjab when the people are this way. Was Punjab always this way and were they b.s'ing all along?
  14. I think as beletiya we were always led to believe that people from Punjab had higher standards of behaviour despite their higher levels of cunning. We have been told by our elders that the gorah is immoral and have no standards. We kind of hold people from Punjab on a pedestal and high esteem but that pedestal and respect is disappearing and it has come to point where the beletiya hold these people with contempt and disgust. In some ways these people are worse than goreh. They have less shame in many regards. How we can call Punjab "back home" at this moment of time is beyond me.
  15. It is these types that are the blond/brown hair blue eye contact lense brigade that give their kids westernized names.
  16. The twitter feed here tells you the type of demographic within our Sangat that is the most susceptible to this subversive behaviour. This is our weak link, they are the most easily manipulated.
  17. You could have something called 'compassion fatigue'.
  18. I think the Sikhs have bigger enemies than the Brits. They tend to be a lot closer to home.
  19. You know what the biggest difference between Afro-Carribean and Black Africans? The Africans don't allow colonial baggage to stifle them. If you see the Africans in acting roles (their traditional African names) aren't stifling them like Idris Elba. To get into acting roles, you are mixing with Luvvies who are tending to be upper classes. Even the profression of Rugby which is seen as a middle class sport has quite a lot of Black African players with African names. To the gorah, if you have an Anglicised name, they are asking the question "what are you hiding?".
  20. And here's the thing, there is nothing wrong in sticking out. In the current climate with diversity, it's a plus point. Even the Ashkenazis have a few tell tale signs, if you know what to look for.
  21. The western naming is part of a larger scheme of thinking that somehow this will provide social mobility which means it will somehow propel you into higher white society. This mentality relates to social standing, schooling, profession, or moving into a posher area. The reality is the whites don't give a stuff what you call your kids. Here is the kicker, the whites are more likely to accept you as you are with your heritage and your traditional names.
  22. The best schools in Slough are full of Indians from other boroughs in London like Harrow, Hounslow, Hayes etc and even further afield which results in more competition for places. This means that the local Indians in Slough are pushed out of their own local schools. What this has meant is that these Slough kids who would have got into grammar schools twenty years ago are now going into secondary schools and are inadvertently raising the schools standards. There are secondary schools in Slough (second tier ) are fast improving their GCSE results and now have sixth form attached to them and have become over-subscribed. The peripheral areas of Slough is now filling up with Indians but I there is a cycle. Pakis move into the area which pushes the Indians out who move into whiter areas, and the goreh move out, the area becomes Indian and the Pakis follow the Indians and so on and so forth.
  23. In those towns, it is seen as 'aspirational' and 'progressive' to give your kids western names because they think it gives them a head start in life. This is mostly done by the brown/blond and blue contact lens brigade, they have given themselves 'western names' in their workplaces. The complete irony of course is that these areas like Southall/Hounslow/Slough is that the parents don't even send their kids in their local areas (unless it is a Grammar School or Sikh school). That is because the demographics have changed so much in those areas that people want to send their kids to whiter schools and then they swarm these areas and in turn it into brown schools and they are back to square again.
