I'm quite sorry you were abused, but it seems that it has resulted in your hatred of men: If women can support themselves independent of men, then fine, do that. Don't get married. In fact, why even get married? Men can also support themselves independent of women. If a man had a bad situation with a woman, it wouldn't be a good idea for him to start hating all women.

It's hilarious how some Sikhs want to portray Guru Nanak ji as some kind of feminist in order to please the gore. How do they deal with this tuk by Guru Nanak ji? kalī andar nānakā jinnānh dā autār . In the Dark age, O Nanak, the goblins are born. put jinūrā dhī jinnūrī jōrū jinnā dā sikadār .1. Son is the demon, daughter is the she demon and wife is the chief of those demons. p556 Guru ji is basically saying what you did: That in Kaljug, women will become the "Sardars". And they'll lead an army of little imps.

She wasn't married, bro. If you want to get married, you have to agree as a woman to let the man lead. As a man, you have to agree to always protect and sustain the woman. That's a recipe for constant fighting. Obviously you should consult on every issue. But what happens when you can't agree? Fight until the cows come home? Or divorce? The aspect of daily Rehit (wake up, simran, Nitnem, etc) is the same for all Sikhs. It's the same for the children, too. It's the same for your Sikh neighbors and every other Sikh as well. That doesn't mean you're married to them. Marriage is a different relationship. Just like both a shopkeeper and his employee could be Sikhs, but just because they are both equal as Sikhs doesn't make them equal in the work relationship.
  4. I'm sorry but Gurbani does not merely recommend relying on mantra (even if it's the Gurmantra). When Babur invaded India, religious figures attempted to use mantras to stop the invasion and failed: ਕੋਟੀ ਹੂ ਪੀਰ ਵਰਜਿ ਰਹਾਏ ਜਾ ਮੀਰੁ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਧਾਇਆ ॥ When they heard of invasion of emperor Babar, then millions of religious leaders failed to halt him. He burned houses, resting places and strong palaces and the princes, cut into pieces, he causes to roll in dust. No Mughal became blind and no one wrought any miracle. p417 Read the whole shabad for Guru Nanak Dev ji's description of the invasion. I fully realize and accept that God can do anything whenever he wants in an instant: ਕੀੜਾ ਥਾਪਿ ਦੇਇ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀ ਲਸਕਰ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਆਹ ॥ A worm, He appoints to kingship and He reduces an army to ashes. p144 But that doesn't mean we should depend on in the normal case. In the normal case, we have to make worldly provisions. Sukhmani Sahib says God can keep someone alive without breath and I fully accept this: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਸ ਤੇ ਰਾਖੈ ॥ prabh bhāvai bin sās tē rākhai . If it pleases the Lord He preserves the body without breath But that does not mean we're supposed to hold our breath. God can sustain someone without food. So why do we have langar?
  5. The rehit maryada published by the SGPC prohibits kutha. If he's a generic Sikh who has parents who don't care about Rehit, they likely buy halal meat from time to time because often that's what's available in the store. This is prohibited by all Sikh sects.
  6. As long as you are dependent on them, you'll have to do what they say. They might want to prevent you from taking Amrit, but there's no possible objection they could make to you simply reading Gurbani. Wake up early and read Gurbani. Memorize Nitnem. And Rehras and Kirtan Sohila. Read all of Guru Granth Sahib ji. Read Sikh history. Read Bhai Gurdas ji's Vaars. Read Panth Prakash and then Suraj Prakash or listen to katha of them. Listen to katha, especially by old-time preachers like Sant Gurbachan Singh Bhindran. And Maskeen ji. There is plenty you can do before taking Amrit. Also, get strong by exercising.
  7. Bro, what does the "anti-woke" crowd think of the new California law? You haven't linked to an article.
  8. Multiple things can be true at once. Why did George Bush invade Iraq? For personal admiration? To get back at the Muslims? Or because he and his vice president Cheney were well-invested in defense and other contractors? Possibly all at once.
  9. There is no such quote. Not in Gurbani. If you're talking about the Janam Sakhis, there it says that Guru ji said "Na ko Hindu na Mussalmaan", meaning No one is a Hindu No one is a Muslim. There is only one dharam. Dhru was a follower of this Dharam, so was Kabeer ji and Namdev ji and Bhai Gurdas ji and all the Sikhs of Guru ji. p1188 There is One Dharma that solidifies the truth out of all Only Gurmat is perfect throughout the jugs (ages). Harnakash was not a follower of this Dharam, neither was Chandu, among others.
  10. "Jatt x 10000" It actually is hilarious how just about every Punjabi song is Jatt this and Jatt that these days. Even the singers from other castes (like Miss Pooja) make themselves out to be Jatts for the purposes of their songs.
  11. What you are saying is true: ਅਹਿ ਕਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਅਹਿ ਕਰੁ ਪਾਏ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਪਕੜੀਐ ਕਿਸੈ ਥਾਇ ॥੩॥ "In this age, one who does with this hand, receives the same with then other hand. None is apprehend in place of another." p406 But it's in relation to people in general. Sikhi also teaches us not to be friends with people who hate Satguru. Muslims (if they are following their religion) inherently think that any religious leader after Mohammed is a fake. They believe Mohammed was the "seal of the Prophets". Friendship with manmukhs leades to vikar: ਮਨਮੁਖ ਸੇਤੀ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਥੋੜੜਿਆ ਦਿਨ ਚਾਰਿ ॥ The friendship with the apostates lasts only for a short period of four days. No delay occurs in the breaking of this affection and this friendship leads to many sins. p587

  13. What did I just watch?? He's a kesadhari bro who loves to be surround by girls in bikinis. He quotes a tuk of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji translated as: The world is just a hill of smoke, what makes you think it was real? p1186 But the shabad goes on to say to worship God with devotion: ਇਕ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਾਰਾਇਨ ਹੋਇ ਸੰਗਿ ॥ The Lord's meditation alone shall depart with thee; Says Nanak, remember thou Him with pure love. The music video of "Air Singh" is basically pure Maya, not what the shabad is saying. I mean, if he's into girls in bikinis, to each his own, but why quote Guru Tegh Bahadur ji in the video?
  14. The usual problem is people stay for 5 minutes after the start of the Akhand Paath and then come 5 minutes before the Bhog. It is disrespect for the institution of Akhand Paath. In the old times, the entire pind would sit for as much of the Akand Paath as they could. These days, you have have multiple Akand Paaths going on at the same time and you have the ridiculous situation of people accidentally matha-teking to the "wrong" Akhand Paath when they come in to the Gurdwara.
  15. Goras have started to give up processed foods, refined oils, refined grains, fast food, preservatives, seed oils like palm and canola, and so on. Punjabis are stupid, so first they have to go through that stage, and only later will they notice that goras have given that stuff up. So now, Punjabis are going through the Yisu Masih phase. All the missionaries have to do is write a single line such as "ਰੱਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਕਲੌਤਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਜੋ ਉਹਦੇ ਤੇ ਯਕੀਨ ਕਰੇ, ਸਦੀਵੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀ ਸਕੇ" (For God gave his only begotten Son so that anyone who believes in him could live an everlasting life.) And Punjabis are so dumb, they'll just believe that and not bother to read the rest of the missionary's Bible, even though it's printed in Punjabi!
  16. That may very well be, but the point is the trend is down (whatever meaning that people take for "identifying" as Christian, that number is down). So if the true number of "real" Christians is even smaller, that contributes to their feeling that if their fellow goras won't believe, then why don't we fund efforts to fool blacks and Indians/Punjabis into believing that stuff?
  17. Again, this is not allowed in our culture for the very simple reason that it encourages sexual attention towards young women in the village. In our traditional culture, young women are protected because the men of that village don't give them any sexual attention. I know that you're thinking with your little brain, but think for a moment: Would you want to live in a society where young women are free of sexual attention or in a society where they are constantly fending off such attention? If the former, then live your own life accordingly.
  18. The British have no one to blame but themselves if the Muslims take over Britain and slaughter them. They are the ones who destroyed our Kingdom. On the way out, they handed most of it to the Muslims and the rest to the Hindus. In the UK, they have always favored the Muslims. So, screw them.
  19. Agreed. Christianity in the US is going down and "none" is going up: A minority pray every day: As goras give up Christianity, they are funding efforts to push it on us and Africa.
  20. The thing is, it's not just that. If you visit Punjab, you'll see posters for Christian preachers with Punjabi Jatt last names. The irony is that Christianity is dying in the West because people are reading the Bible and realizing that it doesn't make sense. I.e., the Old Testament is God telling the Israelites to slaughter their enemies. The New Testament gospels conflict with each other. And if you read it carefully, it provides the basis for the gora's killing and colonization of non-European lands. For example, Luke 19:27 where Jesus says "And these enemies of mine who were unwilling for me to rule over them, bring them here and slay them in front of me." While he says this in the context of a parable, he relates the parable of a returning king at the same time that he himself is returning to Jerusalem and people think he's the King of the Jews and the Kingdom is coming. Because of an inferiority complex, Punjabis have to put on the discarded shoes and tattered clothes of the goras.
  21. I don't know exactly how they are doing simran at that Gurdwara. But I'll agree that we all need to be less cult-like. By that, I mean the idea that "my little Sikh group" is going to Sachkhand and every other Sikh is going to Narak (hell). A little bit of tolerance for a bit of diversity in Rehras length, etc., would be a good thing. There are a lot of little groups which think that only they have the secret Nam Simran recipe and no one else even knows about mediation. They're wrong. Some people will post that the Nihangs are the only Sikh group and all the others are fakes. Even if that's true, the Nihangs fight amongst themselves. So that's cult-like as well.
  22. Wow, we need more Gurdwaras like this. Sad that these types are few and far between.
  23. This seems in alignment with some other people who have said that Jats did not originally dance bhangra. Rather, it they invited people from the Kanjar tribe to dance for them at harvest time. Later, Jats took up the dance themselves. Whether this is fully accurate or not is not something I know for sure.
  24. Agreed. This is the highest Panth (path). ik utam panth suniō gur sangat tih milant jam trās mitāī . I have heard that the Guru's Congregation alone is the sublime Path, adhering to which, the fear of death is shed. p1405 Yeah. It was the wily Brits who destroyed (or attempted to) our warrior spirit. They are the ones who hatched the conspiracies against Dasam Granth Sahib. They were afraid of our tall, manly soldiers. So they wanted to make us into a Panth of quietists, like Jains or Buddhists something. The one time that tears fell from the Sarkar-e-Khalsa army was when Sikhs were forced to give up their 3 foot Kirpans to the goras. Maharaj praises arms as God because they are for helping the weak. "Saif sarohi saihthi, yahai hamarai pir". Imagine giving up your weapon to the tobacco-smoking invaders. Later on, the British "allowed" Sikhs to wear symbolic Kirpans of a few inches. Build muscle. Memorize Gurbani (both Guru Granth Sahib ji and Dasam Granth Sahib). Both of those things (Miri and Piri), not just one.
