  1. I make my burgers with a brick of tofu. I slice it into 1 cm think slices and i fry them until light golden brown. Then you can dress up your burger the way you want it
  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I was wondering if Waheguru created plants and trees before humans and animals after reading the following: ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਕਥਾ ਰਾਜਨ ਕੀ ਚਾਲੈ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਉਮਾਹਾ ॥ Gẖat gẖat kathā rājan kī cẖālai gẖar gẖar ṯujẖėh omāhā. In each and every heart, the Story of our Sovereign Lord is told; in each and every home, they yearn for Him. ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਛੈ ਕਰਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਥਮੇ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸਮਾਹਾ ॥੪॥ Jī▫a janṯ sabẖ pācẖẖai kari▫ā parathme rijak samāhā. ||4|| Afterwards, He created all beings and creatures; but first, He provided them with sustenance. ||4|| (Ang 1235) It is quite amazing to think that Waheguru made sure we could survive even before creating us! Waheguru!

  4. You can go to any health food store et buy gelatine replacement, some stores call it vegan "gelatine".
  5. I want to buy patka online. I want the patkas that tie in the back only (no the 4 string ones). I bouhgt some a few years ago from sacha sauda, in brampton but i can't go there right now I tried to send an email to sacha sauda but the email address from the website doesn't work Anyone knows of a website that sells patka?
  6. Hi, It is interesting how your son is keeping his hair and the reasons why, thank you for sharing. I hope tying the patka is getting easier For my sons, I usually tied their hair with a rubber band first (like a pony tail on the top of the head) and then i bread it, and then i tie it up. I then add another rubber band to keep it in place. It's so solid it can last for days! Although i wouldn't recommend it, because there is always small hair falling and then they end up tangling themselves Once the hair is solid then the patka should stay on. Let us know your progress /challenges.
  7. Has anyone used a cd-rom to learn? I don't understand or speak Punjabi But I can read Gurmukhi I was thinking or buying "Punjabi Guru" http://www.sikhlink.net/store/ItemDetails.asp?ItemID=PUN-SFT-387 Or cybergiani http://www.sonanet.com/ Anyone tried ? Is it worth it? Which one should I get?
  8. Chicken in the vaccine? Any proof? Any links? I found about the eggs though: (ok, maybe they mention chicken somewhere in those links but i didn't read them all) I also heard it contains squalene, but i couldn't see in the links below (maybe there's another term?). Here's what i found: http://www.gsk.ca/english/docs-pdf/Arepanrix_PIL_CAPA01v01.pdf http://www.gsk.ca/english/docs-pdf/unadjuvated%20H1N1%20%28CAPU01-PIL%2001.1%29.pdf http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/prodpharma/legislation/interimorders-arretesurgence/index-eng.php Yes vitamin D boost the immune system: http://www.sikhnet.com/news/vitamin-d-swine-flu-prevention-1
  9. Here is what FiFA says Law 4 is page 20-22 of: http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederati.../36/lotg_en.pdf Decision 1 Players must not reveal undergarments showing slogans or advertising. The basic compulsory equipment must not have any political, religious or personal statements. A player removing his jersey or shirt to reveal slogans or advertising will be sanctioned by the competition organiser. The team of a player whose basic compulsory equipment has political, religious or personal slogans or statements will be sanctioned by the competition organiser or by FIFA.
  10. I received an email form the Soccer federation of Quebec: According to them, fifa law 4 forbids anything that is not soccer equipment. Moreover the equipment cannot show any religious alligeance. They send me a note stating that the hijab was forbidden and they wrote in the email that it also applies to "what my son wears". The good thing is that i now know where the federation stands and that it wasn't just the case of an ingnorant referee. Now i can procede with the next step...
  11. Thank you Budda phaji, my son is 11. I'll keep you posted on any new development...
  12. Well i'm in Quebec, Canada 2 years ago, the hijab was ban in soccer over here. But i'm not aware that it is the case for the jhoora. I'm calling the "fédération du soccer" today, i'll let you know.. I'm hoping it was just an ignorant referee...
  13. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh! I just came back from my son's soccer game. We were told by the referee that he wasn't allowed to play with his jhoora! The president of the association told me the rule came from the federation. I asked him to send me the rule (i want to see it for myself and i also want to make sure that it's actually a rule and not something the referee just decided on his whims). Has anyone gone through a similar situation? What did you do?
  14. Thanks for the replies. Actually it is my daughter who is doing a report for school and she chose to do it on Baba Buddha Ji. She was able to find lots of information but we could not find out if he wrote anything or said anything that people still remember. I don't believe he made any contribution to Sri Guru Granth Sahib, am I wrong? Menu Ke Patha Ji, you were referring to pothee 5, was the start written by Baba Buddha Ji?
