  1. Perhaps it wouldn't itself "mean" the committee is corrupt, but rather, when taken in the context of other "achievements" of this committee, it would certainly imply it. Off the top of my head, these being; 1. Announcing their intent to hold an alternative akhand path, for the fanatical mass murderer and genocidal war criminal indian prime minister indira gundhi. Fear of the sangat's reaction prevented them from pursuing this. 2. Canceling the sangat's annual akhand path for quom de heere shaheed bhai beant singh, shaheed bhai satwant singh and shaheed bhai kehar singh. They had to reinstate it again following the inevitable uproar and disbelief of the sangat, but the said committee's stage secretary couldn't bring himself to say the names if the shaheeds all throughout the programme. 3. Presenting and blackmailing Baba Baljit Singh Dadu Sahib with a bizarre list of topics he is "not allowed" to mention on stage, Prior to his delivering katha at the gurdwara by demand of the sangat. These included, but were but limited to; the quom's independence; the then sangharsh for freedom of bhai balwant singh rajoana, and, surprise surprise, the committee's favourite commodity; alcohol . If he were to mention any of these items during their katha, it was stipulated that the local sangat would have been banned from the gurdwara. However, these all pale into inconsequence compared to this last "achievement"; 4. Holding the infamously stupid regular private alcohol parties (booze sessions), by the committee, for the committee, on the very gurdwara premises that is supposed to be pavitar dharti for Sikhs. Doesn't get much classier than that.
  2. A "violent partition" will not be required. A simple plebiscite will do.
  3. Not wanting to overlook Mehtab Singh's instruction but I felt that the fallacy in this veer's statement needed to be pointed out. Hindus currently form less than half of the population of India. [N.B. Muslims stand at around 25%, Dalits too at around 25%.] The ruling class of the Hindus [brahmins] itself number less than 4% of Hindus; I.e. less than 2% of the overall population of India. The other high classes (2nd ranks) are hardly numerous either; the next 20% of Hindus. Therefore it can be argued that the net beneficiaries of Indian [brahmin] rule are only around 12% of the population of India. All that hasn't stopped Brahmanistan [india] from coming into existence and staying in existence.
  4. I am no proponent of the Panjaabi language, but even I must admit that this action was right. This Singh did the right thing. The protest is valid. The central government (under whose authority, Chandigarh, as a "Union Territory", rests), is clearly in the wrong on this one. And not for the first time either. More hypocrisy to be proud of. Wave those flags.
  5. Precisely. This should be a wake up call for the said "Sikh Aid organisations". But the number of times I have said that particular phrase leads me to conclude that they would rather sleep than exclusively help Sikhs out.
  6. Yes, you are right. The Indian Express is exchanging the term "riots" for Genocide. The general blind ignorance of the Indian press refuses to let them admit that organised pogroms are an attempt to wholly or partially terminate a particular community (i.e. Genocide) - not mere "riots". Of course, it's only when Sikhs are massacred. If it was to be Hindus or Muslims, they would have been the first to be screaming "genocide!!!"
  7. I normally reply to posts respectfully but the comment dismissing my post, out of hand, as uneducated "hyperbole", is simply untrue, and quite unfair, Amandeep1378. Let's answer the "points" you've made; :biggrin2: Don't be silly Amandeep1378. 1. No Sikh, has ever, to date, stated that "just the sikhs" died to free British "India". On the other hand, plenty of Hindus have, altogether completely denied the historic fact that Sikhs have often solely undertaken actions that completely closed the door to Islamic invasions into Bharat from the north west and significantly destroyed foreign rule from Bharat. As you seem perfectly capable of reading, I should ask you to point out where or when I have ever stated it was "just the sikhs." 2. I would ask someone to pass you the statistics for the percentage of sacrifices in the Indian freedom struggle made by each of the religions you have mentioned (sikhs, hindus and moslems), but as you appear to be capable of quoting statistics that don't exist, you should also verify those that do. Even non-biased Hindus and Muslims admit that without the Sikhs, freedom from British rule would have been a forlorn struggle. The small minority of Sikhs contributed to the freedom struggle in numbers far beyond their numerical representation in the population. The figures below are a small selection of official figures provided by the Congress Party itself. They fail to take into account many "unofficial" independence movements that were wholly or almost exclusively the domain of Sikhs. Nevertheless, they are sufficient to explain to an ignoramus the extent of the Sikh domination of the freedom struggle. Out of the 2646 "Indians" deported for life to the Andaman Islands (where the British exiled political and hardened criminals); 2147 (80%) were Sikhs. Out of the 127 "Indians" sent to the gallows; 92 (80%) were Sikhs. Out of the 2125 "Indians" killed in the atrocities by the British; 1550 (73%) were Sikhs. At Jalliawalla Bagh, out of the 1302 men, women and children slaughtered; 799 (61%) were Sikhs. Out of the 121 persons executed during the freedom struggle; 73 (60%) were Sikhs. Furthermore, In the Indian Liberation Army, out of the 20,000 ranks and officers; 12,000 (60%) were Sikhs. In total, all numerical sources indicate that of the total number of actual actively willing human sacrifices (deaths) for the freedom of British "India", Sikhs contributed between 75 and 90% of the total. That is not to count those Sikhs who formed the overwhelming majority of all recognised organised freedom movements (Ghadar Lehar, Babbar Akali Lehar, Kuka Lehar, Komagata Maru, Keys Agitation, Quit India, Baj Baj Ghat, Indian National Army, Satyagrahas) that may have lived. I have not even included above the views of your own Hindu Congress leaders who admitted that "We are the bad sons of Mother India but Akali's are the good sons of India, who are fighting fearlessly for the freedom of our mother. For a community that numbered less than 1.5% of the population of British "India", that is pretty f'n single handed. 3. It is your claim that "millions of sikhs, hindus and moslems have died for India" that is the most incredible. Go and learn history my child. Millions of people of any religion, nor race, let alone the Sikhs (who form 75-90% of those killed) have not died for the freedom of British "India". Besides the fact that now you are just being a fantasist, the 1857 "mutiny" was not a war of independence from British rule. At least have the honour and shame to study the history, background, leaders and aims of the "mutiny" before you start to dribble the propaganda fed to you by your RSS bosses. That too on a Sikh forum. Dear Amandeep, the most laughable thing about your dismission is that they did in fact run away. Even non-biased Hindu observers are able to admit this. What is it about you that is so adamant that you must not admit that Sikhs rescued you in your hour of need? Take 1965. Most of the Indian Army ran away. Yes - they retreated. The Pakistani Army occupied many Indian posts. It was only the small number of Sikhs led by Major Gen Gurbaksh Singh that stood up to the advancing Pakistani army long enough to give the IAF enough time to get it's planes ready. The rest, as they say, is history. Be independent, and do your own research Amandeep. Don't depend on wikipedia or your RSS masters. Next, you're going to deny my point about Sikhs feeding India. I take it you're one of those "educated people" Amandeep? :lol2: It's a good job I'm not looking for "credit" from ignoramuses then. And neither is the Sikh Quam. Goodbye.
  8. Put that in BOLD and BLOCK CAPITAL LETTERS from me my brother
  9. I find it hard to disagree with what you've written up there UKL. Thank Waheguru that you agree with my sincere belief, as I do, that it is absolutely essential that we translate, not only Gurbani, but also the core pro-people message of SIKHI into as many languages as possible , so we spread SIKHI like the cooling wind through this world on fire that it is - the answer to all of man's sufferings - just as Guru Nanak intended us to. We completely failed to do this in the last century, even in East Panjaab, and the result is before us. Many of the elder generation turned to communism, and the younger generation are turning to drugs, naked lust and brazen greed - completely ignorant of the egalitarian message of SIKHI. Had the divine intervention of the blessed soul of the sant soorma Dhan Dhan Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale not appeared on this planet to wake this Quam up from its deep slumber who knows what mess we would be in now. We've got to stop the rot right now. No more confining the global message of Sikhi to 22 million people - we need to follow Dhan Dhan Guru Baba Nanak's example and spread SIKHI all over the globe! No more of this nonsensical, false "oh... we don't seek to convert..." message. Does anyone who said this actually realise how inherently racist, plain selfish, besides cowardly it is to actively NOT want to spread the message that you know is the utmost truth on this planet to the majority human inhabitants of it??? I.e. the Blacks, Whites, Browns and Chinese that form 99.9% of the human race??? We can continue to confine Sikhi to East Panjaab and it will not matter to the pigs that committed numerous genocides on us specifically because of our liberationist ideology. In fact, that is exactly what they want. The biggest revenge on these racist RSS types would be to liberate the majority inhabitants of not just India but also Waheguru's entire green earth from every form of racist, oppressive, totalitarianist ideology. Yes - that includes the racism, oppression and totalitarianism inherent in the Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity of those respective scriptures, besides countless others!!! Now that truly would be the biggest and best answer to 1984!!! RAAJ KAREGA KHALSA KHALISTAN ZINDABAAD!!!
  10. This is a fantastic and fearless post. My friend, you've hit the nail on the head. We must target the root cause. Which is, undoubtedly, the madrassas. Which, ironically, are being allowed to spring up anywhere and everywhere, even in the vast majority of east panjaab (malwa) of all places!!! And opposed by none, in the fear of being accused of racism or interfering in muslims' personal religious affairs. To hell with being afraid of upsetting muslims. We are continually tiptoeing around the real issue, constantly trying not to step on eggshells. The madrassas are the real issue. These must be shut down - NO IFS, NO BUTS
  11. I believe the OP has referred to "Birmingham City University" (BCU), which, as a former polytechnic, has an appalling reputation, whereas "The University of Birmingham", as a 1960's redbrick, is actually a decent place to study. On the other hand, BCU is commonly known to be a dump, where the local "asians" (pak muslims and the dumber sikhs) go for their mickey mouse paper degrees, having f'd up their a-levels. I wouldn't confuse BCU with University of Birmingham at all. The two are worlds apart. Both universities have more Sikhs than you can shake a stick at. You'll also have plenty of Sikh societies to join at Aston too. However, this should not even be an issue, as you are surely you are spending thousands of pounds to go to university to develop your career, not to meet like minded people. Bruv, you can do that for free lolz :lol2: Shamshere has given you good advice above. You would be wise to take heed of it. In summary, Singh, if I could make the decision for you, then there would only be one choice out of the two you have presented, and you are probably smart enough to have figured it out. A degree from Aston would enable you to get a job almost anywhere.... BCU on the other hand... I don't think so... You'll probably find yourself being treated like a clown for choosing BCU over Aston, but hey, the world's full of nutters isn't it? Lolz Do the right thing. Choose Aston.
  12. It is hard to disagree with that. This is the problem I have long had with Khalsa Aid. When it comes to donating one's hard earned money, the principle will always take precedence. Apart from once when I donated for a family member to help them achieve a donation target for a fundraising event where they had chosen Khalsa Aid as their recipient charity, I have not donated to Khalsa Aid. At a time when our own population is being systematically eroded in India, and no-one, I repeat NO western body is working to put an end to the systematic nuclear poisoning of river water that is putting thousands of rural Sikhs at the mercy of death by cancer, and new born babies with birth deformities, an unlimited inflow of drugs into east panjaab, farmer suicides by rural Sikhs heavily in debt, the abject failure of the smaller farming sector in the face of a Government of India led monopoly on purchase of grain, and the purposely unchecked mass abortion of female babies due to poverty and an enforced "UN education" - to name a few; I find it hard to understand how Sikh charities can find the time and money to spend £'000's in overseas disaster areas, which are subject to huge receipts of emergency appeal donations from established, worldwide, western charity organisations, and after already literally swarming with UNO and western aid workers. Getting our priorities right??? ... Is something, we clearly need to work on.
  13. APS Mann is not a bad guy. From what I know about him, he is born and bred in east panjaab and led from the front in pushing Sikh youth politics at university there, which had been systematically suppressed by both the central and state governments since the huge success of the blessed Shaheed Bhai Amrik Singh in expanding the AISSF in the early 80's. He has been vocal about the oppression of the Sikh Nation even while in east panjaab, never mind here. He may not be "dyed in the wool" :biggrin2: , but he is not what is wrong with Sangat TV. On the other hand, I can tell you what certainly is. The anti-Panthic stance taken by its disgustingly communal (in that it favoured one community in particular) coverage of the UK riots, and its continued excuses which eventually resulted in it refusing to screen the critical sexual grooming documentary produced by the SAS, in the fear of upsetting its pak muslim paedophile masters. I have not donated a penny to Sangat TV, nor watched it, since. At the same time though, I have donated £'000's to the Sikh Channel. This is purely out of protest. Using presenters who not only have no affiliation to Sikhi and Sikh values (upinder randhawa, sonia deol, harjap bhangal), but, furthermore, promote non-Sikh ideologies on a Sikh channel, funded out of the pockets of Sikhs, and overwhelmingly viewed by Sikhs. Banning popular jaikaaray by those who protected the Gurdwaras of KHALISTHAAN ZINDABAAD!!! Yet openly calling for Sikhs worldwide to convert to Islam is not a hypocrisy to be forgiven quickly.
  14. Very well identified and correctly stated Jonny veer. The unwillingness to get oneself educated in one's history is a worrying trend within our community. For one, it is partially responsible for large sections of our community dismissing religion as a 17th/18th century concept. This trend has had dire consequences for the Sikh Nation. One sign of such ignorance is the oft-repeated narrative that the modern world, and, hence, modern man, is far more advanced than that which existed in previous times. However, any good student of history, it psychology for that matter, will tell you that other than the technological innovations that have made modern life much faster, very little has changed to man himself. This is because times and situations may change, but HUMAN PSYCHOLOGY WILL ALWAYS REMAIN THE SAME. It is the failure to understand the above fact that leads the overly "modern" citizen, ironically, into a state of blissful ignorance; quite far from their ill-informed idea of being "far advanced". __________________________________________________________________ It is often said that Death and Taxes are the only two certainties in life. It is not said without historical consequence. Tax is a concept that has existed since time immemorial. It, together with the aim of amassing stolen wealth, is the one idea that propelled the greatest and most adventurous invaders to plunder nations far outside their imagination. It, being a continued revenue stream produced with comparatively little effort, was like the cherry on the cake for successful invaders. It has also motivated armed and militarised nations to enforce protection rackets in their areas of dominance from way back (or "rakhi" money, in our language ) Sikhs, should know better than others, the factor that the collection of tax played in the most daring and impressive Sikh raids of the 18th and 19th centuries on surrounding nations, kingdoms and principalities. Delhi, U.P., Rajasthan, and Gujarat; for one. Afghanistan; for another. __________________________________________________________________ Anyone whose ancestral family contains a lambardaar or zaildaar will be very familiar with what the word "chaudhry" means. Far from being a term to be proud of (as the mostly muslim juts of pakistan have turned it, as a generalised term for a zamindaar); It is simply a term to identify a tax collector working for the government. "Chaudhry" literally means a collector of the "fourth part". Since mughal times (if not before), each village has had a lambardaar, or village "chaudhry", typically one of the more influential and landed zamindaars, who collected the fourth part of each farmer's produce for the government. Essentially, he was also a slave; but had more power than the average slave. Hence, the modern disdain for the term "Chaudhry" on our side of panjaab (hence, I see Parkash Chand Badal, for one, as a true b@$t*4d of a "Chaudhry" :lol2: ) The mughal kingdoms all collected tax through this franchised, decentralised system. One of the greatest beneficiaries of this kind of tax collection system was, ironically, the juts themselves, as the mughal system of placing large landowners into, what were, essentially, positions of considerable local influence, worked increasingly in the juts' favour, as they progressively displaced the rajputs and other zanindaar communities from ownership of land in the panjaab region. __________________________________________________________________ I will finish with a popular pangati from Gurbani; BABAANIA KAHAANIYAN PUTH SUPUTH KARAIN Much of our ignorance could be dispelled from the minds of the average member of the Panth if this was practiced alone.
  15. DAYUMMM. :biggrin2: (evil laugh) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  16. You do know that I'm joking, right???!!!!!! :biggrin2: My "professed" love of Taqiyyah, is purely in jest. Yes; verily, without doubt; I, too, despise the truly deplorable practice, of Taqiyyah. (fingers crossed behind my back; whispering "taqiyyah" :lol2: )
  17. I'm surprised that the legendary mytholgical substance "RDX" was not mentioned in the above article.
  18. This is very true. Truth, justice, righteousness, honour and dignity are equally if not more important; Than a potentially zealous bravery, on its own; Bravery, alone, without the virtuous qualities above, to give such bravery a purpose; Is worth far less than the dust under a humble, pious and just saint's feet. It is also hard to disagree with that. Above is an apt explanation.
