There is a website by a sikh who claims guruji traveled to Rome and china. He says that guruji preached to Greek fishermen. Since the ottomon or pesian empire ruled most of the middle east, he says guruji was able to converse with all using persian. He lists the shabd yak araj guftam pesh as the persian one. I forget the website but u guys should take a look. He even had proof of guruji visiting Rome to warn the pope against slavery. But i dont remember wat language he says guru ji spoke. Not true. Even in some families now. The tradition of baata (riddles) and night time stories from the elders exist. Most kids used to look forward to that time of sharing stories and riddles. There were also the songs, i forget wat their called, that were sung at all occasions. Where old ladies sing at weddings wjthout instruments. And women had a tradition of meeting up to weave, and spin and of singing/talking whike doing charka etc. Not to mention maraasis who were like the local comedians, singers etc. Also my nani tells me. People esp.women never used to curse using bad words but used to be very creative. Like may u get a.noh and then she will show u ur place. May ur house be filled with workers, ( implying so u have no time to waste but have to make 50 rotis a day)

Actually a lot of ppl dont think the nihangs are authentic cuz when they went south, many ppl think that nihangs r following the southern hindu rituals. Such as bali, sacrifice, blood tilaks, jhatka etc. All of that sounds more hindu to normal panjabis. Ofc some of this can be proven from puratan granths but normal ppl dont read those. And vaishnu hindus dont eat meat because they think they wil become prisht. While we sikhs dont due to karma and reincarnation. Anyways im glad sukha and meat are banned from gurudwaray and sikh faith in the modern times. Sikhs already have alcohol issues. Most other communities drink alchol but they dont go overboard like our ppl. Imagine if sukha were added to the mix. Our panjabi ppl would go overboard with it. Also most babey are already so lazy and fat. If we allowed sukha and meat. They would get lazier and fatter. Also it is scientifically proven that cannaboids the products in marijuana decrease intelligence in teenagers. It has no such affect on adults whose brains are already developed. So if we bring in sukha whose gonna stop the youngsters from frying their brains out? Everybody looks down on amlis. No matter if they nihang or not. Stop trying to make sikh ppl puratan. It would mean living on the land without jobs like nihangs do. It is very commendable and will be very beneficial to have these survival skills in the panth. They will be needed if electricity gives out or mayhem descends. But the whole panth shouldnt become like that. We need ppl in the highest positions, knowing abt the most modern science and weapons. Sant jarnail singh advised ppl to get motorcycles and ak47s. The modern day horses and teers. Veganism is on the rise. Might become the norm and even law. Good thing we sikhs are ahead on that.

It helps me as a religious person to not fall into the God of the Gaps theory. Also to see which mistakes i as a religious person should not make that people of other religions have made. Such as interpreting their scriptures literally. Such as maintaining that God is scientifically provable. I mean the the laws of science are so ephemeral. Newtons laws dont apply at quantum level, quantum mechanics cant apply to macroscopic levels. Time is not absolute. How could God be defined by wat he created? The books also ends on a positive note showing how religion will be needed to solve ethical dilemmas created by science. And how science's pinnacle AI could be corruot and how humans will be betrayed by it. Also it helps us prepare that if one day evolution is proven, life can be created from nothing, how and why to continue believing in our scriptures.

I really reccomend jordan petersons book. Or his lectures on youtube. They r helping a modern intellectual youngsters to find purpose. And he is redefining religion. And showing westerners that by giving up religion qnd culture what they missed out on.

I always wondered about that. Ppl are always saying God told me to do this or that. Like God called me to marry this or that person. How do ppl know? I always think its our karam that make us do things or give the opportunity to do things. And karam can be good or bad. And their outcomes can be bad or good too...

He does. And thats the only thing we should judge him on. Unless he did a bajjar kurehit or worse. From that blog, i dont see anything bad that he did. Enjoying a vacation isnt bad. Sikhi is not a rulebook. It depends on the persons, their family, their jathebandi etc. I would say in the gurudwara, both should have their hair covered. And both should wear clothing that allows them to bend and walk and is modest. And no sherwanis thats hindu...just kidding.

It has to do with ur state of mind and pishli kamaii. If I am busy or scared, or nervous, then I cant concentrate on paath. And dont feel anything. My mind keeps thinking other things. So u must read bani when ur mind is calm and u r not in a rush. Secondly knowing the meanings really help. So you can read with gurbank with english translations. So u read a pangti then read the meanings, then read the pangti to fit the meanings to each word.the second time u read it, u will understand the gurmukhi and it will be as if gurbani spoke to u. Thats when one gets ras and joy from bani. Also u can try to read a steek. Like read the steek for 1 pauri of one bani daily. And most importantly try to figure out wat each word means. Then when those words come again, u will know them. It takes a long time to read bani and english translations. So try to read english translations or panjabi translations of 1 pauri daily. Also try to do more kamaii. So like any weekend say i will do 10 japji sahibs daily or 25 chaupai sahibs today or 15 jaap sahib. Do one outloud, one with dhian, one while reading meanings. And whike u read try to conce trate and figure out the meaning as well.And the more paath u do, the better u can concentrate. Also ardaas never hurts. Ask guruji to show gurbani ras.

Good question. Can you point out the other sakhis. I only know mata ganga jis sakhi. I think from this saakhi, one can see that its cuz of family. I think mataji might have asked as tho she had the right instead of humbly. If i remember right, mataji is supposed to have said, you bless thousands of ppl with the gift of children, why not bless me as well. That does sound like its not humble and a.blessing is being treated like a right. Another reason I havr heard is that, Guruji wanted to give the maan or honor to gursikhs. By saying go to baba budha ji. He has served guru nanak for so many years. Also it teaches us sikh ppl to offer food and seva to sikhs of the guru. It shows that thats wat makes guruji happy. Basically guruji was telling mataji and us. That if u want something, u should try to please the guru.and this is wat makes the guru happy, when one does seva of their bhagat.

This doesnt seem like fate to me. It seems like a very well thought out proposition. You are taking the advice of an elder. Who is not just advising u out of experience but also his knowledge as he knew about the family. And your fufur did additional investigative work. I doubt anyone else is lucky enough to get so much to go on to decide. Except there is a new trend to marry ppl from the nanke side to the dadke side. So if someone is from valait, they are not wasting the chance to go bahar on a stranger but someone in the family. And all the info is already known. Edit: Also wanted to add: the sanjog concept should only come into play once one is married. Especially if a couple is having issues, they should think it is sanjog and try not to think of whatifs and regrets and escape. Before the marriage, the decision and choice and blame is all yours. Good points. I agree having many siblings and even cousins around is great. But i was referring to big families in the context of polygamy. There the father has a very minimal role in my opinion. When watching FLDS cult videos, the wives complain that they dont see their husband enough. So i doubt the children do. And the animosity and jeolousy that develops within the wives is not healthy for the family.

any naam simran, gurbani u do will have benefit. I have heard that if u have not taken amrit, u will get worldly benefits while amritdharis will get spiritual benefits. So watever they desire, they get. Also imagine that without amrit u r getinng 0000. Collecting zeroes in terms of spirituality. Tgey do not have value. As soon as u take amrit, a one is added to how many ever zeroes u collected so 0000 becomes 1000. So ppl who have kamaii or worked hard with naam and shabad before taking amrit will be more blessed and benefit more while taking amrit. Also taking amrit means u have taken on a guru. It is that gurus responsibility to make u pass the test and become enlightened. Also think of this amrit as a primer to get the real amrit inside of u to come out. Like in the olden days with hand pump nalka. You put in some water to prime the pump. Then the pump will start producibg its own water.

Just breeding more children does not make them good people. Its raising them. And if u have multiple children. Its harder to manage them and teach each individually. I dont know his name. He goes by bulandpuri babaji. Hes really big in canada and getting famous in usa. His english isnt bad. And the accent, quite slight, just makes him sound more mystical and spiritual. Im sure hes on youtube. I dont know much about him. Alot of ppl use that 80% rule to prove we are like animals. In that one male has many females. And some males have nothing. Instead of reminding me of animals, it seems to point more to muslims. One man with his harems. And they did bride price, so only rich males can afford wives. So the rest go on slave hunts. This alpha male and his harem are not the only model found in nature. Some animals mate for life. Some mate then go different ways. Then mate with other partners. This modern day tendancy to use evolution (meaning how humans were before they were humans ie when they were a non intelligent species) or how animals live there life to live ours Is very stupid. Paleo ppl with their diet and now ppl looking for solution to marriage and everything else from evolution is dumb. We evolved from there. Meaning changed for the better. But of course ancient culture should be followed.. and our biology and our natural instincts which women do have different then men. But most ancient cultures exalted monogamy and studies show that children do better in household with both mom and dad. And married couples are happier when elderly. So yes monagamy is better for men and women. About that 80% statistic. It could be due to war, famine, invading hordes, rape. Also most invading ppl would kill all the men 15 years and older. And keep the women. Cant that explain the 80% rule? As the invaders were the 20% who controled 80% of the women. In a famine, more females are born then men. Yes Akaal is Sat. But Sat does not merely mean Truth. It mostly means Eternal. Everlasting. That is why when ppl die, hindus chant Ram Nam Sat Hai. That the name of God is Eternal. Meaning everything else is false and transitory. Including science, time, space, logic, existence. So we dont worship truth per say. We worship truth that is true forever. A truth can be transient. For example i i ask you the time, you say 3pm. A few hours later that will not be true. So in reality the only truth worshiping is Akaal. Because he will always be. Science and logic and time breakdown in this world now. What to say of forever? Time is not constant as explained by theory of relativity. The laws of newton do not apply at a microscopic level. At a microscopic level, quantum mechanics apply which seem to have no logic. Im sure we will learn that space is also not consistent or constant pretty soon. Science is a great tool but limited. Do not discard the ancient traditions and rituals so readily. They knew meditation was important before it became hip. They knew that the mind can control diseases, today unexplained as the placebo effect, positivity psychology, and stress effects on the body. So Sat Sri Akal means God is Everlasting or the Timeless is Eternal. Not merely God is Truth. When all else fades away, God endures. Why worry about the false and temporary, when theres the eternity? Eternity is not a concept. Its reality. Its God.

This actually happens alot. One family was totally mona. Kids did make up and cut hair. Parents got into sikhi thru bulandpuri. Wanted to get there kids into sikhi too. Kids not interested. So the parents took them to diwaans. Asked bulandpuri babaji to convince them. The kids kept attending diwans. Learned alot. But still kept being mone. Dont blame them, its hard to go strict. Parents kept taking them to diwaans. Babji also talked to them alot. Luckily he speaks english. And would do a kids diwaan every wednesday. Where he did katha on spirituality in english and allowed the kids to ask questions. So basically, parents dont force their kids. But they do try to convince them. Parents put effort into teaching them abt sikhi, send them to all the camps, take them to babas, have spiritual ppl come to their house and talk to their kids. Ask mahapurkhs to do ardaas for their kids. They themselves do ardaas for their kids. And voila. Results happen. I would say, changing the kids sangat has the greatest impact. Interestingly, a spouse who wants to take amrit applies the same techniques to convince the spouse who doesnt. Look up personal stories.
