  1. Who is richer than Bill Gates? Someone asked Bill Gates, "Is there any person richer than you?" He said, "Yes, only one. Many years ago, I had been dismissed & had gone to New York airport.I read titles of newspapers there.I liked one of them and I want to buy it. But didn't have change (coin). I abandoned." Suddenly, a black boy called me and said “This newspaper for you.” I said, "..but I don’t have change." He said,“No problem, i give you free”. After 3 months, i went there. Coincidentally, that story happened again and that same boy gave another free newspaper again. I said, "I can’t accept. But he said, 'i give you from my profit' After 19 years, I had been rich and I decided to find that boy. I found him after one and half months searching. I asked him, do you know me? He said, “Yes, you’re famous Bill Gates.” I said, twice you gave me free newspaper many years ago. Now, i want to compensate it. I am going to give you everything that you want. Black young man replied, “You can’t compensate it!” I said, why? He said, "Because i gave you when I was poor. You want to give me when you are rich. So, how do you compensate?" Bill Gates said, I think that black young man is richer than me. You don't have to be rich or wait to be rich to give.
  2. No absolutely not, we do not believe like you say in islam or christianity. The real judgement day for each one, it is individual not collective, it is when one leaves this world, that is our judgement time, for according to our good or bad karmas, our unfullfilled desires,we are moved forward to pay or reap, them and satisfy our desires. Bani says: Dayndaa deh, laynda thaak paae. Or the other option is, do His bhakti as per Gurmat, and free ourselves from the mavyavee creation for once and ever and become one with Him, with His apaar kirpa, not otherwise. Sat Sree Akal.
  3. From your post above, I can tell you simply just 2 points: 1) first is your own experience about the repetition of the most powerful "Shabad" in the whole triloki creation, that is Wahiguru. Keep it repeating as much as you can, at all times, this will brighten up, the Jot of Wahiguru within you, any bad spirit will not dare come near you. 2) Until you reach that stage of devotion, you may keep switched on a small room lamp, so that your room is not in complete darkness. God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.
  4. Sorry to contradict you OneBeing, but brother Monatosingh is quite right above. Just as it does not matter if you have one bundle of dry grass or a room filled with it, in any case, just one spark is enough to burn any amount of dry grass. In a similar way Wahihguru´s kirpa is enough to wash all one´s sins. If He wants, He can clean each and every soul from all thier dirt, just with His one wish, in a second so to say. Let´s go the other way, and still one will reach the same conclusion. If it could take Him several lifetimes to wash one´s sins, then what guarantee is there that we will not engage anymore in "karam", for human beings are weak by nature.... Brother do not compare Him to any other being, be it man, devtay , gods, or godesses, He is all powerful, and His power is none other, than His bakshish and His pyaar. When a dirty cloth is given to a washerman, he will wash it clean at once, rather than saying, I wil wash it a bit everyday. So is Sachay Patshah, submit yourself to His Hukum, and He will wash you that much, and make you so pure pavter, that you will not be born anymore, moreover, He will merge you in Him. Such is His beant wadeayee. Any doubt still left OneBeing, regarding His power? Or about His omnisciense? God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.
  5. An old Arab lived close to New York City for more than 40 years. He would have loved to plant potatoes in his garden, but he is alone, old and weak. His son is in college in Paris, so the old man sends him an e-mail. He explains the problem: "Beloved son, I am very sad, because I can't plant potatoes in my garden. I am sure, if only you were here, you would help and dig up the garden for me. I love you, Your Father." The following day, the old man receives a response e-mail from his son: "Beloved Father, please don't touch the garden. It's there that I have hidden 'the THING'. I love you, too, Ahmed" At 4pm the US Army, The Marines, the FBI, the CIA and the Rangers visit the house of the old man, take the whole garden apart, search every inch, but can't find anything. Disappointed they leave the house. A day later, the old man receives another e-mail from his son. "Beloved Father, I hope the garden is dug up by now and you can plant your potatoes. That's all I could do for you from here. I love you, Ahmed."
  6. Guest JaiKanhaiya, Found this piece of wisdom below, thought sharing with you: I believe, there are no random meetings in our lives, that everyone we touch, or who touches us , has been put in our path for a reason. The briefest encounter can open a door, or heal a wound, or close a circle, that was started even, long before our birth. *Anyhow try not to look back anymore, just keep walking that path forward, which takes you to His door, the fountain of everlasting bliss, which means less attention to maya and world, and more and more bhakti. Sat Sree Akal.
  7. SELFLESSNESS When you do something beautiful and nobody noticed it do not be sad. For every morning the Sun is a beautiful spectacle and yet most of the creation still remains sleeping
  8. Reunion Special: Read it????? Have you ever been guilty of looking at others your own age and thinking, "surely I can't look that old.". Well . . . you'll love this one..The stuff is from a lady called Archana "My name is Archana. I was sitting in the waiting room for my first appointment with a new dentist. I noticed his BDS degree on the wall, which bore his full name. Suddenly, I remembered a tall , handsome, dark-haired boy with the same name had been in my high school class some 25-odd years ago. Could he be the same guy that I had a secret crush on, way back then? Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought. This balding, gray-haired man with the deeply lined face was way too old to have been my classmate. After he examined my teeth, I asked him if he had attended St Xavier's high school. "Yes. yes, I did.' he gleamed with pride. "When did you graduate?" I asked. He answered, "In 1987. Why do you ask?" "You were in my class!!!!", I exclaimed. He looked at me closely. Then, that ugly, old, bald, wrinkled faced, gray-haired, decrepit, id-iot; asked, "What subject did you teach" ?"
  9. Is Sikhi the ultimate self improvement vehicle? Well brother, while others paths can be self improvement vehicles, which can take one to at most at paradises, Swarg or Baikunth... the difference in Sikhi lies, that as compared to them, is that, one has to self improve of course, but with only one objective as our goal, to merge and become one with the Supreme Reality, namely Sachay Patshah Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Because only when we become paviter with the blessings of His kirpa, then, and only then, can one merge in Him. So you see, that divine process of improvement starts with Him, is carried by him, and ends with perfection in Him. Such is the mahanta of Gurbani, of which, Sikhee plays a vital role, if only followed diligently and faithfully to the pure teachings of our beloved Guru Sahiban, without the polluted mixture of any human beings. Sat Sree Akal.
  10. On blondes ... A blind man enters a bar and find his way to a barstool. After ordering a drink, and sitting there for a while, the blind guy yells to the bartender, “Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?” The bar immediately becomes absolutely quiet. In a husky, deep voice, the woman next to him says, “Before you tell that joke, you should know something. The bartender is blonde, the bouncer is blonde and I’m a 6′ tall, 200 pound blonde with a black belt in karate. What’s more, the fella sitting next to me is blonde and he’s a weightlifter. The woman to your right is a blonde, and she’s a pro wrestler. Think about it seriously, mister. You still wanna tell that blonde joke?” The blind guy says, “Nah, not if I’m gonna have to explain it five times.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One more .......... One day a blonde walks into a doctors office with both of her ears burnt. The doctor askes her what had happened. She says, "well... when I was ironing my work suit, the phone rang and I mistakanly picked up the iron instead of the phone. "Well that explains one ear, but what about the other." "The ba- stard called again" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson go on a camping trip. After a good dinner and a bottle of wine, they retire for the night, and go to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend. "Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see." "I see millions and millions of stars, Holmes" replies Watson. "And what do you deduce from that?" Watson ponders for a minute. "Well, Astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three. Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful, and that we are a small and insignificant part of the universe. " But what does it tell you, Holmes?" Holmes is silent for a moment. "Watson, you i-diot he says. "Someone has stolen our tent!"
  11. REFLECTIONS ON PARENTING You will be gone soon but the children will be here And nobody can manage anybody else's life though they are with youi yet they belong not to you You may give them your love but not your thoughts for they have their own thoughts You may house their bodies but not their souls for their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow which you cannot visit even in your dreams God will take care It is none of our business to be too concerned Whatsoever we can do we do, but one should not hanker about things going the way one wants That is very egoistic You have given birth to a child, but once he is out of the womb he is free of you First he depended for his breath on you when he was in the womb Then he will take his own breath You don't say 'What are you doing? Are you trying to be free of me? Trying to be independent?' You feel happy, that your child is breathing First he will take milk from you then one day he will start eating on his own First he will go on clinging to your apron and then one day he will leave it You will be happy because the child is growing becoming mature Then finally one day he falls in love with a woman He has found his woman, so he will go on his own way Bless them, and whatsoever happens they have to find their own life and their own meaning to life. Now you are free. Just try to find your meaning your life, your goals, and devote the few days that are left to the search of the ultimate. Don't be concerned with ordinary things I have never seen a single parent who is happy about their children. Nobody is ever happy. Even the father of Buddha was not happy. He was very very annoyed because his son turned out to be a beggar. He became a sannyasin and the father was hoping he would become an emperor He crushed all his father's hopes One thing is certain -- that the child is not here to fulfill your expectations The child is here with his own destiny, and he will unfold his own destiny. You are trying somehow to direct his destiny and that is going to be frustrated. So if the child becomes a thief, or a or a murderer, of course the parents feel bad, and it looks logical. But even if he becomes a Jesus or a Buddha, then too, they feel frustrated because they have their own ideas, and the children try to do their own thing Accept it and bless them. They have to find their own ways Who are we to interfere? And how can we? Pray for them but leave them on their own. You just try to grow yourself.

  13. Simple rules for a healthy life Clean your heart daily with forgiveness. Avoid jealousy to keep yourself nourished always. Sprinkle yourself with love, it is the sweetest perfume. Wear a smile to give your face a perfect glow.
  14. OneBeing Jee, today I was going through the Anmol Bani, where I came through the following passage, which I feel that it can dispel your fears, for it is not a man made message, but rather directly from Guru Jee. So pay attention carefully, and try to follow it implicitly, there is nothing to loose, but gain Him Himself through His kirpa. Raag Bilaval, Third Patshahee Sree Guru Amar Das Maharaj. Here it goes: ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਡਾਢਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ Jis Dha Sahib Ddadta Hoe || One who belongs to the All-powerful Lord and Master ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਮਾਰਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ This No Mar N Sakai Koe || No one can destroy him. ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਰਹੈ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ Sahib Kee Saevak Rehai Saranaee || The Lord's servant remains under His protection; ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ Apae Bakhasae Dhae Vaddiaee || The Lord Himself forgives him, and blesses him with glorious greatness. ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥ This Thae Oopar Nahee Koe || There is none higher than Him. ਕਉਣੁ ਡਰੈ ਡਰੁ ਕਿਸ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥ Koun Ddarai Ddar Kis Ka Hoe ||4|| Why should he be afraid? What should he ever fear? ||4|| ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਵਸੈ ਸਰੀਰ ॥ Guramathee Santh Vasai Sareer || Through the Guru's Teachings, peace and tranquility abide within the body. The key here is to become a sewak of Wahiguru Akal Purukh, by doing His selfless sewa, which is none other than His chintan, His Mahima, His ustatee, His simran. The Bani says, that alone sewa is accepted in His court, that one, which pleases Him. So which one pleases Him and is the highest? Again the Bani says: Sarab dharm meh sresht dharm Har ka Naam jap nirmal karma. Sat Sree Akal.
  15. OneBeing Jee, according to the title of your thread, following are the soothing and lovely words of Fifth Patshahee Dhan Dhan Satguru Arjun Dev Maharaj, which answers it, and can dispell that your fear about death, only if you have that pooran sharda by taking refuge in them: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਜਮੁ ਨਸੈ ॥ प्रभ कै सिमरनि दूखु जमु नसै ॥ prabh kai simaran dhookh jam nasai | Remembering God, the pain of death is dispelled. Moreover, not only the fear is removed by His chintan, but as Guru Jee assures in the following verse, the very cycle of births and deaths, is cut off for once and ever. ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਾਲੁ ਪਰਹਰੈ ॥ प्रभ कै सिमरनि कालु परहरै ॥ prabh kai simaran kaal pareharai | Remembering God, death is eliminated. Such is His apaar beant wadeeayee. Sat Sree Akal.
  16. What is karma, how does it work, and how can it be erased? Karma is the cosmic law of action and reaction. Under its control, we souls in the material world, reap good or bad results according to each act we perform. Karmic reactions include not only things that happen to us, but such things as our health, wealth, intelligence, physical appearance, and social status, as well as our personalities and inclinations. While we have some freedom to choose our current acts, our choices are influenced by our natures, or personalities, which have developed from our previous actions. For example, good choices tend to make us good persons who make further good choices. The law of karma begins to act upon us, when we desire to enjoy separately from Wahiguru, and it locks us into an endless cycle of births and deaths. Each action begets a reaction, that begets another action, and so on. Whether the reactions are good or bad, we must repeatedly accept new bodies for the reactions to play out. And each lifetime in a material body, means unavoidable miseries, such as disease, old age, and death. While the Bani tells us, that the only truly beneficial course of actions or karam, is to perform such spiritual acts, that can gain us freedom from the bonds of karma. Spiritual acts, such as sewa and love for Wahiguru, are the essence of Bhakti. They awaken our innate love for Wahiguru, and destroy our desires to enjoy separately from Him, which is the root of our karmic bondage. And true sewa or love of Wahiguru, is churned through His Simran, which detaches us from all mayavee creation, and attaches our surtee to His Lotus Feet. The Bani says: Prabh ka Simran, garb na baseh. His Simran is the highest and only true bhakti. Sat Sree Akal.
  17. Someone made my day by posting this today... New York is 3 hours ahead of California, but it does not make California slow. Someone graduated at the age of 22, but waited 5 years before securing a good job! Someone became a CEO at 25, and died at 50. While another became a CEO at 50, and lived to 90 years. Someone is still single, while someone else got married. Obama retires at 55, but Trump starts at 70. Absolutely everyone in this world works based on their Time Zone. People around you might seem to go ahead of you, some might seem to be behind you. But everyone is running their own RACE, in their own TIME. Don’t envy them or mock them. They are in their TIME ZONE, and you are in yours! Life is about waiting for the right moment to act. So, RELAX. You’re not LATE. You’re not EARLY. You are very much ON TIME, and in your TIME ZONE Destiny set up for you. In conclusion don't rush to get, and don't be sad . Make today your day!!
  18. Dear Guest Jee, I think the Bani of Second Patshahee is quite clear in the ANG you provided. It says that, when we leave this material plane, leaving behind our physical body, even then, the soul without physical eyes, legs and ears, has the power to move about with the power of Naam, and also to see the Jot of Wahiguru, and hear Anhad Bani of Wahiguru. And all this, can also be done now in our present life when Guru jee says : Jeebhai Baajhahu Bolanaa Eio Jeevath Maranaa . This means, to repeat His name, without tongue, which implies enetering in a deep meditative state, and when one succeeds in this jugtee, we become apparently dead to the world in that time being, yet much alive in the spiritual realms, living on Amrit Bani. Third Patshahee tells us in Anand Sahib: Naam jiske man vaseeya, vajeh Shabad ganere. Sat Sree Akal.
