  1. The thin line between life and death is just one breath. Bhai Satnam S. Atwal passed away yesterday in Bakersfield (California, USA) during katha/kirtan The thin line between life and death.mp4
  2. Each one can do as wished by knowing past lives. But one thing is for sure, since countless aeons, eras, yugas, we have done nothing to reunite ourselves with Waheguru, that is why we are still here. Yet by His apaar kirpa, He has once again given us human birth, so let us make the most of it and follow the Bani implicitly , in order to do his Bhakti adequately, so that once and forever, we get released from this mayavee creation, and merge back in Him. It is quite difficult to know about our past lives, but let us ask ourselves we commit so many mistakes regulary even in this very life, yet, let us ask ourselves, have we ever been succeeded in overcoming them. The smokers continue smoking, the alcoholics continue drinking, the drug addicts continue consuming drugs, the kamee continue with their vibchaar/indulging in their kaam tendencies. They all know at some point that it is bad what they are doing, yet they are helpless. So if this is our condtion while living here in this very life, what guarantee is there that by knowing past live we will improve and stop commiting them? We all know, one day we have to go from here, yet we make big plans as if we were to live here forever, and try to secure a place here, nobody is interested in Him. What a pitiful sight. This is maya. So let us not get paralyzed with such doubts, rather make the best use of His kirpa on us by giving us human birth, and placed us in such circumstances and atmosphere, that we can easily get the parsad of the teachings of our Guru Sahiban through Bani, and live accordingly, to reunite ourselves with Him The Bani says: Saas saas simroh Gobind. Who knows if we are alive next moment or not , His name is a precious priceless jewel, which we should work on it and polish ourselves with each breath, and in the end gift ourselves to Him at his Lotus Feet. The only antidote against the unending cycle of births and deaths and their causes, is His sacred Name. Prabh ka simran, garb na baseh. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.
  3. Hello Brother, I think we are a bit confused just as any other neighbour´s son. The thing is, Sikhee is not meant to flourish as per worldly views or community, for sikhee is a path for personal growth in order to merge and become one with Waheguru. This is the main difference between other dharmas and sikhee, but as we do nothing to mature spiritually as per the teachings of our Guru sahiban, we mistakenly take a totally different direction like others. If the Bani says, everything is koor, and maya, why would Guru Sahiban want us to get entangled with this paraphernalia? Their intention was to detach us from alll this koor and unite us with Him. That was their purpose, so let us not undervalue and misuse their pure paviter teachings, due to our petty mindedness. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.
  4. Touching someone´s feet out of respect, is a mark of humility, trying to say that I am as low as your feet ..... Secondly, no real Saint will ever allow anyone to touch his feet. For he is the embodiment of Truth, so naturally that Truth or blessings which we may seek are not gathered at his feet only. He is so powerful that if he would want to give us anything, he can do it so with his drishtee also, or even 7 seas far away, yet he can give us whatever he may want to, for he being a saint is above all parameteres of time and space. It is we ordinary and limited people, thatwe think by getting nearer and falling at that the feet of a true saint, we can get his blessings. Things do not work like that in spirituality. He who is a true saint, a bhagat, are rare, but that does not they do no exist. Just take the examples of our Guru Sahiban, outwardly they looked like any other human being, but inwardly, they are one with Waheguru Akal Purukh. It is by their grace, we may recognize them, otherwise even by staying under the same roof with them, we may fail to see their true nature. Examples of the sons of First Patshahee, and the 2 elder sons of Fourth Patshahee, though they were Their sons, but did not recognize their Fathers as Akal Purukh Himself. So bowing to someone and touching their feet is nothing more, than actually an act of humility from that person. Regarding the supreme importance of a True Saint in the person of His Father Sree Guru Ram Das, Fifth Patshahee first says: tarikhaa na utrai saant na aavai bin darsan Sant pi-aaray jee-o. My thirst is not quenched, and I can find no peace, without the Blessed Vision of the Beloved Saint. Then He continues saying : bhaag hua Guru Sant milayaa : By good fortune, I have met the Saint Guru. Prabh abhnasee ghar meh paaya : I have found the Immortal Lord within the home of my own self. And these words are not of any ordinary people, but, of our beloved Guru Sahiban, the very embodiment of Waheguru Akal Purukh here on earth as normal and respectful human beings, without displaying any weapons, nor supernatural powers, nor doing any such things which go against the flow of Nature. Nor having shakti as spouse, nor sleeping or laying on Seshnaag, etc etc etc , nothing of that nonsense, but at each and every step and word, stressing upon on Nam/ Satnam, the only Supreme everlasting Truth, to which we should give our love and devotion. Ik Oankar Satnam Satgur parsad jap. This is the essence of sikhee, rest is all Maya and manmat. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.

  6. I think this text is very beautiful, very true .... ! Hardly the day started and ... it is already six o'clock in the evening. Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday. ... and the month is already over. ... and the year is almost up. ... and already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed. ... and we realize that we lost our parents, friends. and we realize that it is too late to go back ... So ... Let's try, however, to take full advantage of the time we have left ... Let's not stop looking for activities that we like ... Let's put color in our greyness ... Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts. And yet, we must continue to enjoy serenely the time that remains. Let's try to eliminate the "after" ... I do it after ... I will say after ... I will think about it after ... We leave everything for later as if "after" was ours. Because what we do not understand is that: after, the coffee cools ... after, priorities change ... after, the charm is broken ... after, health passes ... after, the children grow up ... after, the parents get older ... after, the promises are forgotten ... after, the day becomes the night ... after, life ends ... And after that it's often too late .... So ... leave nothing for later ... Because always waiting for later, we can lose the best moments, the best experiences, the best friends, the best family ... The day is today ... The moment is now ... We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone until tomorrow what needs to be done right away.

  8. Brother, there is a lot of negativity and ignorance spreaded widely. Just continue with with your relation and keep loving her sincerely, though talk to your parents openly and tell them of your plans in making this girl your life partner. Petty minds are limited, so do not mind the world, for the world will always keep talking even if it has nothing to with them nor them having any ideas. As far as Guru Jee is concerned, He only wants us to not commit sins and love Him. To love Him, not because He is is selfish, but because in that lies our real welfare. For by only loving Him, can we reunite our soul with Him. So matter what we do, where we are, we should never ever forget Him. He is that much concerned, for the rest, we have to become first human beings, and live a life with respect and kindness for all. For our karmas are our sole responsibility. If one is good, one attracts His blessings, but being wicked and a bully, one gets farther away from Him, for His Light is not only in sikhs but in all living consciouss beings. As the Bani says: Sabna jeea ka Iko Daata. The bodies are just coverings, but the reality in them as souls, is the same in all catses, creeds, colors or nationalities. Humans divide, but His Love and blessings unite us as brotherhood/mankind. There in the spiritual realms when one reaches by His grace alone, there are no sikhs, whites, browns, blacks or yellows, nor genders, nor anybody high or low... Only He, only Him. Waheguru Akal Purukh Though it is also true, that by unpolluted sikhee being put into practice implicitly, one can reach Him. You just accept whatever destiny has for you, and leave everything on Him, who knows, you may have to set / share your past karam with her, so do it glady and live to your choice, without failing Him. Who knows, maybe by His grace, she may at some point be interested into sikhee through you being an example of being a good sikh. Cheer up bro, life is not to shut up oneself, but live it happily, we are human beings, we need to love and get loved, it is just but natural. Wish you the best of luck. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.
  9. Have you tried with any other browser than the actual one you are using? Just try and see, it may work. It has happened with me sometimes while trying to access some website, but by changing the browser it worked.
  10. First of all Guest Jee, with your answers, you have drifted away from the title of this present thread of the OP, which is about : CAN GURU MAKE US DO SOMETHING THAT WE DIDNT INTENDED TO ? While you have taken it into different direction as per what the Lord can do for us ? Like giving protection to a bhagat, or wash our sins, etc.... So you see, as far as possible we should stick to the topic to avoid any misunderstandings or end mixing up things which have little or nothing to do with the topic of the thread. Secondly, I am not disputing SGGS, I am just clearing the misinterpretations by some, while quoting the Bani. For example, from the post above of brother Akali Fauj in the following 4 verses, let us try to see what it says, especially the one in black: Prahlaad was thrown off a mountain, into the water, and into a fire, but the Sovereign Lord God saved him, by changing the laws of nature. (ਹੁਣ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਡਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਪਰ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ) ਕੋ੍ਰਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਮੌਤ-ਰੂਪ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ (ਬੋਲਿਆ—) Harnaakhash thundered with rage and threatened to kill Prahlaad. ""Tell me, who can save you?"" Prahlaad answered, ""The Lord, the Master of the three worlds, is contained even in this pillar to which I am tied.""||4|| ਹਰਨਾਖਸੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਖਹ ਬਿਦਾਰਿਓ ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਕੀਏ ਸਨਾਥਾ ॥ The Lord who tore Harnaakhash apart with His nails proclaimed Himself the Lord of gods and men. *There where Prahlad says : the Lord, the master of the 3 worlds is going to save him .... Have we ever asked to ourselves about what are those 3 worlds which he refers to? Well, these 3 worlds are 3 regions, planes, or levels of consciousness within the realms of Maya and Brahm. These 3 planes are: the physical or material plane, the astral plane, and the causal plane. Beyond these are the planes of pure spirituality, out of the reach of Maya, Brahm and Kal, which is why Waheguru is also known as Paree Puran Parbrabhm Parmatma., for He is beyiond the reach of maya..... And to this one eternal Truth, Lord, God, Creator, I always mention, to whom we must give our love and devotion, for He, as the Bani says: Ekas bin sabh dandh hae. Apart from this one Waheguru, every other thing, entities...are nothing but: maya, brahm, temporary, false ... So brother Guest Jee, do you still think I am disputing SGGS Jee? The example of Prahlad, is just a katha, an inspiration for us by Guru Jee to start understanding the higher truths of Akal Purukh. Just as children play with battery operated police cars, aeroplanes or helicopters, etc, which are not real as such, but they play a role in preparing us for the real life once grown as adults. Going back to your example of Prahlad, let us see some more facts about it: In the Hindu dharma, there is story whree the father(Harnakash) is set up to destroy his own son (Prahlad) for being a devotee of Lord Vishnu. But such was his belief and faith in Vishnu, that in spite of the outrageous boons and powers granted to Harnakash, that Sree Vishnu Jee took the avatar of Narashima to save him abnd destry his father. And as we all know, Sree Vishnu Jee is one of the trinity gods, which if we ponder a little bit, has nothing to do with the real True Lord God : Ik Oankar Satnam as mentioned by Guru Sahiban, and it is to this very Truth Guru Jee in each ang, tells us to give our faith and love only, none else. We as sikhs, should never ever get impresssed by the forms and powers of any entities or trinities, gods, devtays, and take them as equal to the one Waheguru Akal Purukh. He alone, He is. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.
  11. The only profoundly ignorant, are indeed those, who mistakenly or ignorantly take the avtars/incarnations of Vishnu Jee as those of Waheguru Akal Purukh. Our Guru Sahiban, are the real manifestations of Waheguru Akal Purukh. Waheguru has nothing to do with the mayavee Lord/Master of the 3 worlds, as seen in the verses above. He is the highest, and if you or anybody can not see the differences of the mayavee incarnations and the ones of our beloved Guru Sahiban, just look at their lives and their teachings. What to say of that of one Man Lion incarntion of Vishnu, there can be millions, or billions, of all the different incarnations of trinties and gods, and even all united on one side, but none are match to anyone of Guru Sahiban or Waheguru. People induced by manmat and maya, fail to recognize Waheguru as the Highest, who has nothing to do with any Krishna, Sree Ram, Buddha, Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu, Hanuman, etc, devis, devtays. Many as said, mistakenly take these incarnations as ultimate God, but thanks to First Patshahee in the very begining of Sree Guru Granth Sahib, and with His Kirpa, if anybody reads what the Mool mantar says, one can only then see the differences between Waheguru and the mayavee incarnations displaying powers, not otherwise. Sat Sree Akal.
  12. GuestSikh06 Jee, better do not ask any wishes to Him, for does not the Bani say: Bin boliya, sabh kich jaanda. Let us ask ourselves: If He, whom we ask for things, has the power to give, has He not the power to know what we want? It is something to think about seriously. So, if we ever even wanto ask Him for something, let us ask for Him, from Him. For only by having Him, we shall need nothing. While by not having Him, our greedy mind will keep on asking again and again, and our desires shall never diminish, thus these very desires will keep us entraped in the wheel of births and deaths. And to avoid all that suffering and pain, let us see what Guru Jee tells us in the following 2 verses. Aisee Math Dheejai Maerae Thaakur Sadhaa Sadhaa Thudhh Dhhiaaee Here Guru tells us to ask Him for His blessings,in order to be able to meditate on Him, for He is only realized by meditating upon Him, no other karam kaand will ever bring us closer to Him, or in the end to merge and become one with Him. Guru Jee´s wisdom has to be faithfully applied as ointmnent on our mental eyes, only then can our spiritual sight can be restored to have His Darshan. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.
