  1. this is seriously very disgusting!! I am disgusted... He better pays for it like Ram Rai
  2. These are the mahapurakhs/ Gursikhs that I know who practised Guru Gayatri Mantra 1) Sant Baba Attar Singh Ji Mastuana wale did abhyass of this shabad while at Hazoor Sahib 2) Baba Harnam Singh Ji Rampurkhede wale 3) Giani Thakur Singh Ji talked about it many times during his katha, he said if Moolmantar is the King of all Mantras, then Guru Gayatri Mantra is the General. 4) One abhyaasi Gursikhi called it the crown of all mantras 5) Sri Harbhajan Singh Yogi called it the Shakti Mantra, essence of Jaap Sahib, just like moolmantra is the essence of Sri Japji Sahib 6) Dhan Dhan Baba Nand Singh ji kaleran wale, used this Guru Gayatri Mantra as one of the sampats in a Sampat Path that he finished in 2 years. I feel that mantra is a mantra, there is nothing hindu or sikh about it, it is a science that we cannot understand and that our Gurus have given to us. One should practise the jaap for a long time, if they really want to genuinely learn about it.
  3. Yes Baba Ishar Singh ji rara sahib wale mention Suleman briefly for 30s in one of his atmik bachans. He mentions that suleman was a kazi and was involved in black magic, because of which he was punished for 1000 years. Its bachan # 7, filed under atmik bachans, puratan katha on Gurmatveechar.com So I am sure Baba Ishar Singhji weren't lying.
  4. kill your haumai, then you will be real nihang. Ni+Hang = without hangta (haumai/ego)
  5. I think I am going to say fateh now, and will close my discussion here with this Gurbani pankti, which captures what I meant to say. And I shall reflect upon it too: ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਪਰਸਉ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਇਹੈ ਧਿਆਨਾ ਧਰਨਾ ॥ I behold the fruitful vision of the Saint; this is the meditation I have taken. The Lord Master has become Merciful to Nanak, and he has entered the Sanctuary of the Holy. ||2||16|| Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru JI Ki Fateh!
  6. Akal Moorat hai Sadh Santan ki, Thahar Neeki Dhyaan Ko . Explain this to me.
  7. Pooran Sants Mahapurakhs Brahmgyanis always stay in Nimrata, Humility, Humbless and extreme Gareebi Bhava. They teach through their living. They always point towards doing pooja of Guru Sahib. But once they leave their physical bodies, once they have won the battle truly, it is GOD who makes sure that pooja/satkar/worship of Such Saints/Bhagats is done. World will sing their praises forever. So go fight with God about this issue. I think some people just limit their perception to the physical aspect of the photo. Everyone has common sense to know that a photo is made of ink, colors, paper, frame and glass. Photo is lifeless, it doesnt grant you anything. Photo is just a way to feel someone's presence there. If you dont have a photo, its difficult to create a mental image. The whole purpose of an asana is to bring a more concrete presence into one's awareness. By keeping the photo on asana, the seeker feels in his mind the presence of the mahapurush sitting in front of him. Its a way of bringing the presence in one's surti. Mahapurash never die, they always shower blessings on seekers when needed.
  8. @Jaspreet1 Throughout the day, we encounter many negative/bad/lustful/other images. Even our unconscious spills out many images during sleep. Can we not have Spiritual images of Gursikhs/Sants/Mahapurakhs/Warriors/ Representation of Gurus in our minds to purify our thoughts, along with constant reminders from Gurbani? Do you ever watch movies/TV shows ? If you do , you are also doing dhyan of millions of images being flashed at you /s .
  9. The pic is of the board that was put up during Baba Nand Singh Ji's times at Jagraon center. Read the maryada. How can someone dare talk loudly let alone dance in Nanaksar. A lot of places and people these days use Nanaksar name, when in fact there maryada is no where close to the recommended one. Someone please translate it for those, who have difficulty with Gurmukhi.
  10. @ Jaspreet1 - I am not a leader or a spokesperson for anyone. I have my own understanding of the teachings. - Please visit Nanaksar Kaleran Jagraon in Punjab, and learn if Bhangra is being done there. If you can do so , you are free to label it as 'Nanaksar dancing'. The only true representation of Nanaksar is the Jagraon Center. I dont believe in any other Nanaksar Gurdwara. - your intention of pasting the video link along with the title Nanaksar...I don't know what to make of that. And for others, here is my understanding of the teachings of Mahapurakhs Baba Nand Singh Ji and Baba Ishar Singh Ji. And the only reason I am writing is so as to reinforce the teachings within myself. 1) Kamai of Bachan of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, Guru Granth Ji Maneyo Pargat Guran Ki Deh. Do Seva of Guru Granth Sahib Ji in pargat form. There is no limit to how much seva one can do , it depends on Shardha. Sewa can include Offering Ishnaan, Prashadha, Milk, Snacks, Chaur Sewa, Rumalas sewa, Air conditioning acc. to weather, doing sewa as a living Guru . Reading out Gurbani loud to Guru Ji is also a form of sewa mentioned by Baba Nand Singh Ji, And when doing Chaur, Imagine that Guru ji is sitting in an asan and dont bring the chaur really close to Guru Ji because it would be like hitting the dastar/sees of Guru Nanak saheb. Treating Guru ji like royalty in all way possible, kings of kings. Whenever in Guru Granth Sahib Ji's presence stay in full bhai/adab/satkar as if sitting in front of the President of Many universes. Before ever entering into Guru Ji's room , you should give awaza of 'Satnam Sri Waheguru ji. Its like asking permission from Guru ji to enter the room. Baba Nand Singh ji had instructed his followers that whenever he was in Samadhi, they should always say Satnam. Satnam works like a thunder to bring the Mahapurakh out from samadhi, as per baba ji's bachan. Using scent and attars for Guru ji. 2) Nitnem Instructions: Nitnem of 5 Baanias , Shabad Hazare, long Rehraas Saheb Hazoor Saheb wali, Keertan Sohila. Baba Nand Singh ji placed great emphasis on Sukhmani Saheb path. He recommended atleast 1 path everyday if you cant do more. If you really are pressed for time you can do 6 astpadias atleast. Moolmantar is the form of Guru Nanak. With its abhyass, Moolmantar will become partakh Guru Nanak. You can get all padarths/ wishes with abhyaas of Moolmantar. With 1,25,000 repetition of Moolmantar, Guru Nanak will reside in your rasna. Moolmantar is like the foundation of building, and Waheguru Mantra is the building itself. Monthly Nitnem : 1 sehaj path / 50 sukhmani sahibs/ 250 japji sahibs/ 80 mala waheguru mantar every day/ 6 mala moolmantar everyday. This was the minimum prescribed just to survive. There is no limit on max. I think that is all I can think of, for a common man like myself to follow. The rest of the stuff like Sampat Paths/Vidhis are very advanced stuff for Mahapurakhs who are jati sati , given duties from Dargah. Sampat Moolmantar : Moolmantar + Aukhi Ghadi Shabad. Baba Ishar Singh Ji said the sampat of Aukhi Ghadi stands as a guard against 5 vikaar who want to steal away your kamai of moolmantar. Sampat Sukhmani Sahib: Use of the Rahao pankti in Sukhmani Sahib, Ath 1-24, Satnam Sri Waheguru. Phal of doing 2 sukhmani sahebs. WJKK WJKF And Guru Nanak Saheb De Avtar Purab di aap ji nu vadhai hove!!! Katak Pooranmashi, 12:21 AM.
  11. That is interesting. I didn't know that. But I still feel its overdone and ...the only true Pooran Mahanavtars/ Brahmgyanis were Vadde Baba ji ( Baba Nand Singh ji) and Baba Ishar Singh Ji.
  12. Baba Ishar Singh Ji were after Baba Nand Singh Ji. So it most likely happened in Baba Ishar Singh Jis time. And obviously after Baba Ishar Singh ji , his saroop was kept. "Why do dhyan on photo of Sant Jee? Sometimes you just feel a connection with one sant. Its the talk of hearts, cannot be explained in words. I guess its a matter of what works on an individual level, kinda personal. Yes, Dhyan of Guru Nanak is the recommended one by both Baba Nand Singh ji and Baba Ishar SIngh ji. Focusing on the padam of Guru Nanak's feet.
  13. Now regarding the photos: I have never seen or heard about that person before. I doubt it seems like a Nanaksar sant, i highly doubt it. The only photos we keep of are Baba Nand Singh Ji, Baba Ishar Singh Ji . And the purpose of that is, as N3O explained to show reverence. Another thing is when Sants leave their physical body they become Pooran, at that time you can do dhyan of Sant Photo in ur meditation. Its a tool for Dhyan Sadhana. And its a way of showing respect to Parupkari Sants, the true ones, the brahmgyanis, not the avg joes these days. " Guru Ji says Brhamgyani stays forever, and never dies" Their physical bodies vanish, but they can come to you in many forms. I have a photo of Baba Ishar Singh Ji in front of me looking straight ahead, sitting on a tiger skin. When I look at it , I feel such a powerful presence. It feels Hes there. I cant look into his eyes and face. When I do , all my sins and wrongdoing come in front of me, and I just feel so ashamed within myself. Such is the presence, and power. And then I just look at charan/feet and ask for forgiveness. Same with saroop of Guru Nanak ji. Seekers are told to have dhyan of Guru Nanaks feeet in their surti. I was listening to Sant Waryam Singh ji one day, even he mentioned he used to do dhyan of guru Nanak in his trikuti . Mind loves concrete concepts, Photo is a tool for Dhyan Sadhana, and to show reverence and respect to our elders. And then rest depends on one's bhavna and shardha.
  14. Its a request to moderators to change the title from Nanaksar to "unknown Jatha", even though it clearly says Tesiyan in Video title.
  15. Hanji, Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!! Its been a while since I logged in, but had to find my password, log in just to reply to this outrageous post. You can say that I am connected with Nanaksar Samparda, and I have decent idea about the true maryada. @Jaspreet1, Please do your research properly before cutting and pasting stuff on online forums. THE VIDEO LINK YOU POSTED IS NOT NANAKSAR !!!! Can you read the title of the video ? its says TESIYAN!!! Tesiyan is a dera where they deal with people who are possessed, similar like Dera Vadbhag Singh. No one dances in front of Guru Sahib. PERIOD. Just look at the saroop of Guru Granth Sahib and the crappy rumala. If it was Nanaksar , Guru Sahib would be prakash on a huge manja with extravagant rumales and proper satkar. PLease dont go around doing nindya. THE VIDEO IS NOT FROM NANAKSAR... - As for the bhangra pic you posted, I dont call that place nanaksar. If you truly want to know about Nanaksar, the only place you should visit is in Jagraon, thats it. And if you find someone doing bhangra, then take a pic, and post it here and label it Nanaksar. Please dont be so generous and start labeling everything as Nanaksar.
  16. "..He was also travelling and looking for enlightened beings and to see what they were doing and have done to become enlightened. He wanted to see if there were others that could see what he could see ! Sadly, even Guru Nanak Ji only ever came across a few enlightened people on his travels and the few he did meet, he collected their work or writings if they had any and kept it in his pothi..." I am not sure what you meant by this statement maybe i misunderstood something but it makes me uncomfortable. I don't feel Guru ji travelled to compare his experience with other enlightened beings, the only reason he could go to seekers was to help them achieve their goals and to give them darshan. Guru Nanak is Nirankar Himself. There is only ONE and only ONE Guru NANAK. No other like Him. Ik Oangkaar... Bringing Gurus to the level of saints is ridiculous, if they want they can make billions brhamgyanis and saints/enlightened beings etc etc. But billions of enlightened beings cannot make one GURU NANAK. 17. ok i will do it too, twice a day atleast for 5 days, starting now, thanks for sharing , i will discuss if i have any experience.
  18. I think it begins early in morning and continues until 4pm evening, i have heard that people do sukhna there, and there wishes are fulfilled by doing a chupehra. apparently its a pretty powerful place. Since its a chupehra, 4x3 hours, it must begin early in morning at 4 am, so go around 3:30 ish am, i guess.
  19. After listening to katha of Suraj Prakash Granth by Kavi Santokh Singh ji, few bachans of Sant Ishar Singh ji rara sahib, and katha of Giani Thakur Singh ji --> my understanding is that Mata Ajeet Kaur Ji/ Mata Jeeta ji used to do yoga abhyas ? If yoga is condemned why did she use to do it, maybe its a lie or maybe I misunderstood. I also understand that hatha yoga is not recommended in Kalyug age ( bachans of Sant Isher Singh ji rara sahib). So maybe in the end , it all depends on the avastha "mental state" of the abhyasi/jagyasu? If yoga is condemned, how come meditators/Naam Abhyasis sit with a straight back or sit in padmasana etc, doesnt that fall under yoga too ( the maintenance of certain postures) ? just looking for some clarifications and moreover at any given time, we only have one dominant breath , left or right . how do we stop that because thats also under yoga ? you see what i am saying ? I think where we go wrong is when we are too focused on certain outer/physical restraints. The main focus for us is the Gurmantar given by the panj pyare, once can recite it in any way they like, if people like to "savdhan ekagar cheet", physical postures might help. There are many tools given , just need to utilize them as aids towards our main goal.
  20. "Guru ki moorat mann meh dhyaan" Bring the image of Guru in your awareness. For that, we need some images as a tool. Some people use it as a meditative tool, its all about how to raise your consciousness. For some it helps increase their devotion and love for the guru. We are all students at various spiritual stages, some need more gross tools than others. I definitely need the beautiful and lovely saroop of my father Guru Gobind Singh ji from Hazoor Sahib. Guru jis face is so beautiful, the most beautiful eyes ever seen, sohnni kalgi prakash, and a beautiful aura. That image of my father invokes devotion in me and thousand others. If you were not supposed to admire the images or pictures of Guru jis, then why did Bhai Nand Lal ji wrote so intricately about the single details of Guru Gobind Singh Jis beautiful hair. By missionaries's logic their body would be an idol so you cannot praise the beauty of the Guru. Where do you draw the line? My vichar is ,to each their own, if an image helps someone feel connected then let him be that way . That person is not hurting you in any way..he is only hurting your ego by not confining to your standards of sikhi. If you dont like pictures, then no problem, stop preaching to others against it and stop confusing the new sangat. Just let it be, chill, do your bhagti, and move on. How would you translate the pankti " Gur ki moorat mann meh dhyaan"? And how can one do dhyan of Nirgun saroop ?
  21. ps. I am not a spokesperson for Nanaksar samparda, I maybe ignorant and not know everything, I am just someone relating my own personal experiences directly or indirectly through other sangis. http://nanaksargurdwara.com/, you can check out this link for books or articles, its pretty good.
