I was wondering if there is any Sikh meditation music that is about? I know some there are some western born artists like Snatam Kaur and others have made but shes not really a Sikhi exclusive related artist. And most Kirtans can not be described as meditation music as they are hymns sung using multiple musical instruments often out of tune! If we look at guru nanak devi ji and his travels with mardana music was an important part of naam simran and it was played just using sitar and rabaab I believe. The sounds those instruments make touch the soul the sounds they produce vibrate and stirs the mind into the correct frequency for meditation.

The only flaw I would say about his talks is that he focuses too much on zen buddhism. The concept of marriage is a religious concept where a man marrys a woman its quite clear in Sikh scriptures and in all other major world religions. These gay extremists have lobbied now for gay marriage being equal to heterosexual marriage which makes a mockery of the religious marriage institution. Gays who only make up less than 2% of the UK population whereas even muslims have a higher population of around 2-3% and have less rights than gays. KARACHI: Instead of visiting the place in person to probe the case, as ordered by the Chief Secretary Sindh, Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Police (Special Branch) Shahid Hayat will conduct his enquiry into desecration of Sikh books in interior Sindh from Karachi, Daily Times has learnt. The Chief Secretary had asked AIG Hayat to probe into the two cases in which most sacred book of Sikhism, the Guru Granth Sahab was desecrated in northern Sindh district. It has been learnt that AIG will not visit these cities where incidents happened but will conduct his enquiry from Karachi. On Thursday, eight member Sindh delegation of Sikh Council of Pakistan met with Chief Secretary Sindh told him that they have no trust on the district police of Sukkur and Shikarpur districts where these incidents held and requested him to constitute special team comprises on the officers from Karachi. CS Sindh assigned AIG Hayat on this case but now he, instead of visiting the cities where these incidents held, will probe both cases while sitting in Karachi. When contacted by this scribe to get his statement, he refused to talk. "I am not allowed to issue any statement," said Hayat. Sikhs with a tiny population in Sindh is considered as a minority within a minority and after these incidents they are afraid of local powerful Hindus. The actual tussle started when a Hindu caretaker of a local temple Narain Bhajan embossed Hindu symbol on Guru Granth Sahab and signed his own signature and took the photo of the signing ceremony and posted them on social media networking site. Local Sindhi Sikhs reacted severely; rushed to the temple and asked religious leader to issue apology for disrespecting their book. "Both incidents could possibly be a reaction, in which our Sikh friends asked the Hindu leader to render apologies, but we are not sure and now it's up to the police to find out actual reasons and the culprits behind this," said Sardar Ramesh Singh.

Islamabad, July 20 (ANI): Another shameless incident of desecrating Sikh holy book Guru Granth Sahib was reported at the Shikarpur gurdwara in Sindh Province of Pakistan. The Daily Times reports that some unknown people at Gurdwara Khat Wari Darbar in Store Ganj area of Shikarpur had torn 24 pages of the sacred book causing annoyance and fear among the Sindhi Sikhs. According to the report, a case has been registered under section 295 Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against unknown person in the local police station. ASP Tariq Wilayat said that the police are still on the lookout for the actual culprit. However, the recent tussle between the Sikh and Hindu community has created doubts that some local Hindus might be involved. (ANI)

Dont mind kids being taught Islam only if they are taught all the other major world faiths like Sikhism equally with equal resources and educational units. Sikh body blames former DGP of conversion Yudhvir Rana, TNN Jul 18, 2013, 08.32PM IST AMRITSAR : All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF), Peer Mohammad faction, has submitted a memorandum with Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh seeking his intervention into the incident of alleged conversion of Sikhs into Islam by former DGP Mohammad Izhar Alam Khan. AISSF president Karnail Singh Peer mohammad blamed on former Punjab top cop that he was allegedly converting poor Sikh children into Islam. He informed that a delegation comprising of senior Sikh scholars handed over a memorandum to Jathedar along with a 14 page petition signed by 565 Sikhs from US. The AISSF president alleged that Alam had so far contributed Rs 99000 each for the construction of more than 480 mosques besides he had installed Imam's of these mosques of his choice. "He had constituted 21 member committee of each mosque with majority of convert Sikhs as its members" said he. When contacted Alam said "My only comment is no comment" adding that earlier also a lot of people and organizations had leveled allegations against him . Peer Mohammad alleged that Alam as well as other senior Muslim police officer of Punjab had settled Muslim colonies in various parts of Punjab especially in Malwa where now mosques were being erected. He further alleged that many Sikhs who were earlier named Gurmial Singh, Gurtej Singh were now known as Gurmail Khan and Gurtej Khan after conversion. The Federation has demanded intervention of Akal Takht to hold an inqury into the incident and also urge state government to conduct a probe and prevent such a malpractice.
