1. Can you please tell me what were lectures or workshops were about? I might consider going next year.
2. Thank you Jss for clarifying. I all try my best to come in.
3. ya beat me to it. i completly agree with you. It is much easier to point and blame the hypocrisy of others religions, but look at what you call your own and fix it first. 116245 Pheena Whatever amount of discrimination you perceive to be in Sikhi it is not as great as there in other religions. Sometimes people just cannot help being negative, if someone says something negative about another religion and something positive about Sikhi then we have people who will rack their brains to see if they can think of something which happens in Sikhi so that Sikhi too can be brought down to the same level as the other religions. I have nothing personal against you but your comment 'ya beat me to it' shows that you are one of these people. If you really are honest in your comparisons you would know that SGPC has already decided that women will be able to take part in Kirtan and other sewa at Harmandir Sahib. Yes, a few obscurantist organisations and one man bands have issued statements against this but the SGPC decision has the support of the majority of Sikhs. Giving equality to women does not have the support of the majority of the other religions. The only negative that can be drawn is that why it took so long for the SGPC decision. Maybe before you jump into the fray with your 'Sikhs discriminate too' statements maybe your should try and get a deeper understanding of the situation in other religions. 116264 First of all my veer ji, i think you have over analyzyed my comment, partly you are correct, that i am saying a negative thing. But you are fairly mistaken when you say i look for negative things as a habit. I look for negative things when there they exist. I look for positive things where they exist. The whole purpose of this post was to point out the negative thing in Islam. yet I pointed it out in Sikhi? Was that a wrong thing to do? Who gave another the right to disect and look down upon another religion, when their own is also in the same boat of inequality. Perhaps not to the same level, but this discrimination exist no matter how nominal it might seem to you. To me this is a big discrimination hence i felt the need to point it out. You say the SGPC approved this but why haven't the rest of the authorities when equality is one of the most primary messages especially in the place of worship spoken by Guru Nanak? Do i not have the right to point this out that this inequailty exists? So why do we go to anothers religion and point out their falacies? What right do we have? I will believe this when i see a woman sitting behind the Guru Granth Sahib taking Hukamnama and i see a Woman doing Kirtan on National TV in Harmandir Sahib. Until then it is all politics. 116295 Great post pheena. quite a slap to those religion haters. I hope one day these hard liners fundamentalist- be it - sikh, hindu, muslim, christian, buddhist, jain etc pay for der deeds.
4. i m not dodra singh am i welcome to do kirtan if i hopefully make it to this event or is it like akj strict rules that non-akj/non-bibeki singh cannot do kirtan?
5. Guruji never weared gold after he took amrit by 5 singhs, i know sangat gave guru ji gifts and guru ji weared expensive clothes and also other expensive things but never weared Gold all the gold was directly sent to Bhandar. Lately i think taken over by Mughal Armies. 115853 source please?
6. paneet, and you call yourself taksali. Shame on you. stop distorting history. You have to do some reading by Sant baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Bhindranwale on this subject. Sant ji was ratan of damdami taksal . He clearly said it Siri Guru Gobind Singh had 3 wives. Interesting to note that the Damdami Taksal also consider the concept of multiple wives amongst the Sodhibans Sikh Gurus to be true... Here is very strong evidence that Guru Ji had three wives:

8. I am desperately looking for his last diwan either audio or video. If you come across with it from your relatives or whoever. Please contact me via pm. I really really appreciated brava :T:
9. Keep your anti-jatt , pro-tarkan and pro-jatt views out of this mess!
10. tying your beard has nothing to do with not being proud of sikh or less rehit wala. That just quite a bold statement and plain rubbish. Lots of mahapursh who were in army in regiments like 25, 36 tied their beards. And besides mahapursh didn't even care for such a small issue as this one even though they normally prefer to have their beard untied and tied it in jobs etc. I guess people on forums have too much time on their hands. Is it just me or sikhs are becoming more judgemental day by day- by looking at someone outer kriya and using your mat that judge that person is not work of a sikh of sri guru gobind singh ji whose darbar is open to everyone . Mastana type of sikh to strict khalsa.
11. Whos the fanatic and who makes the death threats?? Care to explain?? i have not heard of this before?? 114268 It was on tapoban few weeks ago. stupid sikh wanna be kids screw the image of sikhs all the time. But we insteading of cleaning our own house, blame the media for everything. 114269 K but what actually makes proof of this?? Tapoban is an anonymous therefore any <banned word filter activated> can post on there saying what ever they want!!!! Besides, just for the sake of tarnishing the campaign, one can easily write a stupid letter on a pc and print it off. Theres no actual proof if you get me? Just people trying to wind up and make the campaign n the proper sevadars (the ones who actually do the seva, even if they cnt make the day, make the efforts to support the information etc) look bad just as the papers manage too!!! e.g. "Sikhs were waving Kirpans outside Lakeside" Yet no1 seemed to remember the fact police were present at the time n no1 was arrested so its not possible that could have happened!!! PS, i think its great the wedding was cancelled! Best bday present im having! Waking up on the sunday and be like! "Today, my Guru is gona be at home chilling, not be in a hotel where he doesnt wona be havnig beadbi done!" WJKK WJKF 114271 All-info may you should read between the lines of my post. I was not dismissing campaign for their great work. I think they are really chardi-kalah. However, as i said on tapoban there were few people loosing their anger and restorting to death threats and violence without even trying to negoitate the whole suitation. This type of attitude we and campaign must be condemn otherwise people will start beleiving those holligans are part of the campaign when in fact they are not.
12. He acknowledges it, but if you read the Dasam Granth, he also dismisses it at pure Egotism! It is one thing respecting your elders and past, but another being full of conceit and Egotism, because of your backgrounds. In anycase 99% of Sikhs are from low caste backgrounds: For example Jats were from Saka's but were condiered Mlechhas or Sudra's. Tarkhans were consider off springs of Sudra(Saka) men and Brahmin women and therefore the lowest of the twice-born. Near enough Shudra's. Aluwalias (although probably Saka's) were considered low caste due to their profession. If you want me to post the passages from Manu Smirti I can (if you are interested). So those people who dismiss our Sikh heritage, and play up their caste/racial heritage are fools. No harm in respecting your past (even if you are a toilet cleaner), but acknowledge the hear and now and the heritage that was given to you by the Guru's. That should always come first! :TH: 114451 I agree 100%

14. Rai is not caste but sodhi is. Why don't you answer - Why did he acknowledge his caste in bachitar natak - Sri Dasam Granth.?? May be you need ponder upon my post. especial this part:
15. Oh that's a wonderful news brother. you handle a suitation with sehaj ..great work. Fanatics should learn from this singh who don't even try to negotiate or try to explain to the misguided people what Guru Sahib is but find it ok to send death threats and everything along with it. :T:
16. where can we download the recording? help please
17. 114107 namstang ji do you have any written proof to back up your claim/statement about the 2 mahapurkhs you have mentioned here??? 114114 Read and study steeks of gurbani by those two mahapursh. That's a proof in itself.
18. Beleiving in Caste and thinking one superior is one thing, however acknowledging your blood line is another. Siri Guru Gobind Singh Ji mentioned in dasam granth that he belongs to sodhi rai. Please read below link: url reference: http://srec.gurmat.info/srecarticles/srida...idynasties.html
19. Where does rehat go when sikhs do keertan without raags despite most of shabads in Siri Guru Granth Sahib start with ragas?? Have you heard of something called "Gurmat Sangeet Maryada" ?
