  1. Well said Bundha paji, instead of donating the heavy ingredients, one can also donate it as money, or other item for the gurdwara, chunia or rumals for the sangat, or things that will be used by the gurdwara in seva. As i have a health condition, I very rarely have langar, people say we should always have a bit of langar, but I have some parshaad, and cannot manage anymore. If i do I have very little, and then eat when I go home. It all down to common sense and self managing your health conditions, which includes our diets, and the food we eat, but I feel our community does not have enough awareness of that. I know we should not criticise langar and be grateful of what we receive, but some is heavy and fried in oil, and fatty food, which is not good for our health. Im wondering why the gurdwaras dont get together or get advised by any organisations, or even the committees implement healthy eating cooking. This is something I feel should be taken into account.
  2. As Sikhs we are protectors of the suppressed and weak, and should not take a life. But how I see it, Its karm, what goes round comes back round, I didnt know who he was until reading on here. All those people mothers, children and innocent people killed by what he led, does that not account for anything? These facts should be taken into consideration also.
  3. Guru Nanak Dev ji would also have respected holy men from other faiths. But it does not mean they would have practised their ways. One holy man can always recognise another holy man, which a normal human may not be able to do. But Sikhs do not believe in humans, they believe in God Waheguru only, this is what Guru Nanak Dev ji came to earth to teach us, so we praise the Lord, God, Waheguru, the creator.
  4. Being a female I will give my opnion too. if she has no health condition, and she is ok and comfortable with, then why should it be a problem for anybody else? Her life let her do what she wants. On one hand people are saying females should not do waxing this and that, and on the other saying she should get rid of it. Its got nothing to do with us, its her hair let her do what she wants with it. She is educated and Im sure her doctors would have discussed any health conditions with her.
  5. I like this. Is there another part to it, as finishes at the atta bit?

  7. No these people will not get rid of them, probably create more negativity. I think this is the reason we had we weird noises in our house, wrong type of people makin out they can cure or make things better but actually make them worse by misguiding. Never fall for anybody saying they can do miracles when all they after is money. Nobody but god can do it. Trust baani and it will.
  8. Even thou i have experienced something like this b4, wat i cant understand is how would the chor bring in a bhoot, or something like that? I cant figure it out logically, or how something like that got into our house. Like we meet diversity of people in public all day, and stand next to them, walk past them, or they come into our houses, eg: painters, workmen, maybe people we have connection with thru work, or social life, or children.. so how is this possible, this is wat i cant get my head around..
  9. i noticed this too, Sikhi is coming thru on bigscale now, and it feels sooo good, but a shame its coming out the wrong way, from the killings and lives going...I think Sikhi is going to be recognised more now, and people will start looking towards sikhi ways and wanting to become like that, as how long can technology, fashion, being cool, money, paisaa paisaaa, go on for? People will get bored and fed up that they will want to come into Sikhi or learn more about it...and go back to the old days ways of living.
  10. This world is full of weird things, and to us they seem odd, or scary, if we were them, we would probably go around banging on our neighbours walls....Its just that its not the "norm" to experience the banging etc, and that we cant see them... They need baani, thats what they need...and if anybody from another faith can help, i say its ok, as long as u dont change ur religion. And depends how far u take it, but our faith should be enough to get rid of these things, as we have tried other and only baani was the cure for us at that time.
  11. I saw this too, and I looked at her eyes, she the most beautiful girl I have seen. And this is coming from someone who used to be paranoid about my face and how it looks... She has definetely given me a lot of confidence on facial hair...i dont really care now if anybody can see my sideboards or my upperlip...she's an inspiration..., Also saw the comments people of non-Sikh origin left her, they were supporting her sooo much...and saying we should be happy with how God has made us, instead of looking like barbie dolls.
  12. I used to hear loud footsteps walking up and down our stairs, in one of our old houses, every night for a period of time, around th same time...Its like it used to wake me up on purpose, and my body used to go thru so much pain from it. I seem to be very sensitive to these kind of things. And if i go somwhere i dont feel comfortable there, i will say, and want to leave straight away. I think with us, an Akhand Paat held at home made a difference, I remember I wasnt scared nomore, and the steps stopped. I would say as others have suggested, if its not making a difference with wat he is doing, ask the granthis at the gurdwara, to do a paat at home.. I am sure they will advise you appropiately as well as they can. sorry cant be of more help. As luckysingh says tell ur friend not to be afraid of it, as the stress of it will only make them more paranoid. Tell them to just think of them as normal people, nothing scary. I actually used to shout out loud and tell them to stop, coz they were doin my head in. but maybe thats not the right advise.

Could be any caste, as there are always different castes in one pind or city and it originally some castes were associated with the pind or city they came from...Why is this even an issue? Do a google search, u find most things on there.
  14. thankuji too, i want to read that book too. I met an elderly lady once, who said she did darshan of Babaji Nand Singh, it was so lovely, i didnt even know her, she just came up to me and hugged me and said WJKK WJKF, then asked how my family n me were, then started to tell me that she used to go with her father and had darshan of them....I was soo happy that day..
  15. I know wat u are going thru, it hard being alone and not havin no friends. the friends i had, dont want to know me nomore coz of my health condition, but then i think they are not friends if they dont want to know. I am kind of stuck in th middle, i am not amritdhari, so its hard to make amritdhari friends, I dont drink or go out or do much fashion like i did b4, and th other friends are either goin holidays, or want to go to pubs etc, or meet up in restaurants which i dont do.... And then there are women that have children, so i have nothin in common with them, but i try to keep myself busy throughout th day at home, there is always something to do, and in th comfort of ur own home, nobody can hurt u or say anything to offend u...which i used to get a lot, if they did not like my views on certain things or if im not modern enough for them. Im not boring its just that ppls attitudes change and there will always be somebody that comes into my life and go, rather than the same ones that stay around forever. but then i think this is gud for me, i dont have to be obliged to nobody and seen diversity of people and personalites in my life that would not have if i had friends. Waheguru is a friend u can rely on, if u feel lonely or down, talk to them, they do listen...i even cry to them sometimes, but thats ok coz i know they are the only ones that listen to me, whereas others run away, and they are not the ones to be friends with. Lookafter the gems and dont go looking around for stones. :waheguru:
  16. yes i would like to know too, gud question, it seems these sort only used to be in th old days, remember my grandmother used to tell me stories of them...but dont seem to hear of them nowadays.
  17. yeah last house i used to live in, one room used to be soo cold even in th summer...had a real bad time in that house, still not recovered... when we came to new house, feel better, not loads, but has made some difference.
  18. Next time she does it, say " hi penji, or ssaji penji. or waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguruji ki fateh penji" then she will get the message. Tell her not to miss u, be direct in wat u say. Its good u are keeping away, u dont want to get diverted the wrong way, at such a young age, then get stress and problems, etc. Concentrate on ur studies, and dont fall into this love luv thing, there is no thing until u get married. stop playing hide n seek too, that will stress u out, how long will u ignore her for...you have to hurt her feelings or say it nicely without sounding nasty, thats only way to do it.. if u cant do that, then i suggest u carry on as normal but call her penji and dont be scared of going to school, this is riduculous. ik kudi badle school nai jana, oh dear me....banda banjaaa...
  19. lol@kalyugi, nyways on a serious note, desiguy get out more in fresh air, and build up confidence, then the harmoniums will get better. Do u have a job or any activity u can do that diverts ur mind from the harmoniums goin blooblooakfjlksdjoawirjlskj......Do simran everytime u get the harmoniums, and stop playin into the eyes of opposite gender, its all an illusion to distract u and divert ur mann.
  20. Cool i love the way they sing. Hope i can make one of the dates. They are great. Rasna Japti i love that one.
  21. I used to be told to put glass of water too, near me when sleeping, dont know why, or if it worked, but something worked, I say its gurbani that worked. Dont even know why the glass the water is put there?
  22. god knows, on th website it says italy, somebody else says mexico. now u sayin england, quite confusing really.
  23. like gurdssingh said Maharaj ji is forgiving, its good u realised ur mistake, shows that u have some goodness inside urself and regret what u did, so ur heading in right direction already... See it this way, if somebody was drunk and came to ur house, falling over, smelling of sharaab, talking rubbish, that u couldnt understand, and messing up ur house or abusing you, how would u feel? If they attacked ur family, how would u feel? Quite hurt i would think, remember that always, when u are going to Maharaj ji's house. Next time u drink, dont go to the gurdwara..or better still, stop the drink..why did u go when u knew u had drunk? Drinking is bad, as its not good for the health, waste of money, not good for ur family, causes problems with everything, and u get confused like u have said. Are u depressed about something? please talk to somebody or get help, instead of drinking. Dont waste ur life on drink and then regret afterwards wat u done. U should be guilty for doing it as somebody was watching u all along, and that was Maharaj ji. dont ever think they dont know wat u do, they knew b4 u went to the gurdwara u were going to go drunk. Just think one day there will be a time when the same you will go to the gurdwara sober, and beg them for something, when u get a problem in ur life that only they can sort out, when nobody else will help. So please quit the drink, and do something good with ur life, so ur family will be proud of you. God will help you if u have a problem, if u ask them. keep asking, keep apologising and dont ever give up.
