A big deal was made rightly or wrongly in the media when he was originally made the the "first turbaned Sikh queen's gaurd" , this made front page news and made national TV news. This guy spoke of his pride etc.. So when you are in such a position whereby you know you are in the public spotlight as seen as a prominent Sikh representative due to your appearance and position, why would you do stupid things like take Class A drugs ? Yes, media definitely singled him out in their reports and made specific statements regarding his Sikh identity while not mentioning or naming the others who were also caught. But you can't have it both ways, if you want to make a big deal about being appointed in the first place in the media, you can't expect to hide when that same media highlights your wrong doings . Bottom line Sikhs should not be doing drugs regardless.

If they did lie to avoid legal ramifications I agree it is shameful behaviour. If you claim to be Sikh and were part of the protest then have the strength of character and conviction to stand by your views and beliefs. Did Singh's in the past who took part in various protests and deliberately court arrest, them tell lies to escape ramifications?? The whole episode was wholly avoidable, the flagrant disregard for Sikh rehit Maryada in the interest of making money by the notorious committee of this Gurdwara was the sole cause of this embarrassment. It backfired massively, the committee thought by deliberately fabricating and sensationalising their statements to the police a heavy handed approach would cause the protest to fail and send our a message to the community to deter future protests and allow the committee to carry on undermining rehit for financial gain. The youth are the only ones to take a stand on such issues, if the community tried to rely on organisations such as Sikh Council etc etc who have proven themselves to be toothless we would see very little action...These organisations claim go represent Sikhs then hold secret meetings with the Indian government without causing consulting the community they claim to represent...shameless.

Wouldnt actually be surprised if this guy wasnt even a Sikh...

These cowards ran away when the guys mates turned up. They only act big and bad when they are in groups like cowards. The full footage hasnt been released. Obviously not a good idea to wander down side streets by yourself after a night out either... Also as soon as the crew were coming upto him, he should have started to make a move not let himself get isolated next to a bin in a corner. The police traced the car these guys ran away in back to a address in Nottingham.. And interviewed one person voluntarily but apparently are not able to identify the perpetrators ? How is that possible, the owner of the far doesn't know who was using his car ? Or who it's passengers were ? Why did the police not release this footage for over 2 months ? This attack took place in November last year. Surely there was more chances of catching them if they released the footage asap after the incident and applealed for witnesses and help identifying the perpetrators. Hopefully they are identified and caught from the CCTV footage. Unlikely though , their community is very close knit they will not give up one of their own...they don't even give up known child groomers or radicalised preachers and terrorists..

More important than displaying shastar or aad Chand etc on dumallas is learning how to use shastar, shastar abiyaas, shastar vidiya, jungi vidiya. Don't become a paper Kkalsa like the sad reality of amritdharees today, walking around with stylised dumallas even wearing chakkars etc... but their kirpans and Sri sahib's are blunt and nothing more than ceremonial...majority of them have absolutely no idea how to utilise these shastar. Even though combat training and Shastar vidiya is a compulsory part of Khalsa maryada it is sadly neglected, to the point of near extinction...

Most of the anti panthic issues in Gurdwaras over the last 20 years in the UK like meat and alcohol parties in Gurdwara halls / community centres and interfaith Anand Karajs have been due to Gurdwara committees being made up of what you could call aethist Punjabis with zero Sikhi knowledge, their primary concern was raising money which is why many Gurdwara theses days are actually businesses rather than the spiritual centres that they should be. This is also the reason for poor quality parchaar and lack of youth attending Gurdwaras. Hence there should definitely be a vetting process for anybody wishing to become a Gurdwara committee member. They should be knowledgeable in Sikhi and also have a progressive skillset and mindset. Having Panj pyare run a Gurdwara sounds good but just being Amritdharee alone is not enough and it excludes large amounts of the community that may have the skills and mindset to take Gurdwaras to the next level. We need more than old retired blokes with little or no Sikhi knowledge or other professional skills.

As already stated the Sikh channels are all free to air on Sky so any satellite receiver connected to your sky feed will be able to pick them them up they are not encrypted. You don't even need an official sky box as such.

Do any of these leftists actually do any positive community work at the grass roots level to assist with issues affecting the Sikh community or do they just stir up controversy by writing biased articles to make themselves seem significant or obtain government funding ? They run a helpline to assist members of the panth with any real world issues. What exactly do Rana, Katy Sian, Sunny Hundal etc do at a grass roots level for the faith they claim to represent ??

It's taken them 100 years to realise that the SGPC are a corrupt organisation originally created by the British so that they could manipulate Sikhs and create s modified version of submissive Sikh that suited there purposes. Singh Sabha in their short sightedness sold out Sikhi to the British. How can the modern electoral voting system which can easily be corrupt, be better than Guru ordained Maryada ? It's no coincidence that the forming of SGPC also bought the decline of Sikh traditions in Punjab, the decline of shastar vidaya the decline of Raag vidiya and traditional kirtan , gurmat Sangeet. The editing of baani and censorship of any opposing views and publications... One only needs to look to Sachkand Takh Hazuri Sahib to see how the Hazuri Sikhs have maintained the true Khalsa Maryada of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj without the corruption and interference of SGPC and other anti panthic elements.

Agreed, if your going to challenge viewpoints do it in a constructive, inclusive and coherent fashion not in a aggressive or confrontational manner or anything that can be construed as such. Rest assured these kind of people will very quickly try to publicise and twist any sort of challenges to their viewpoints and label people as "extremist, fundamentalist, khalistani, intolerant" . We do not need to provide any unnecessary ammunition to the press who are only too happy to demonise and misrepresent the Sikh community already. A fully evidenced well researched cohesive response is required if any challenge is to be made.

This Gurdwara and it's dodgy commitee have a long history of anti Sikh practices and pig headed ego to go against the panth: - Leamington Gurdwara was a focal point for interfaith marriages, the commitee even hired private security firms to try and stop protestors and encouraged weddings on weekdays etc to try and go "under the radar". They also tried to create a rogue group of Gurdwaras and engage with the police to get protestors arrested if they tried to stop interfaith marriages. They called the police on peaceful protestors and told lies that the protestors broke down doors and assaulted sangat and had several weapons which caused a heavy handed police presence and response. - They attempted to build a party hall and bar on Gurdwara premises , and the commitee were forced to appear on Sikh channel to explain themselves. A planning permission request was submitted for this purpose. - They refuse to let anybody speak on stage against the consumption of alcohol etc. Various committee members past and presentwho I will not name have very chequered pasts...some of which were being sued for defamation by some amritdharee Singh's. Leamington Punjabis themselves doesn't have a particularly good reputation...Girls known for sleeping around etc, guys known for being druggys and alcoholics... There are also other dodgy Gurdwaras as well in Leicester known for sham interfaith Anand Karan ceremonies as well as Leeds and Bradford.

On the level though, goat meat i.e: Bakra doesn't seem to be very popular or common in the UK. Lamb is much more common. The only 2 communities where goat meat seems to be popular in the UK is Afro carribean/ Jamaican , and Muslims. So it tends to be halal. Your best bet is to find a farmer who keeps goats. That way at least you know it's genuine and fresh.

When your so called leaders turn away a person who offered to bring millions into Sikhi because they don't want low caste converts to become the majority and upset their power base that's when you know panth have serious issues. For reference I'm talking about when Dr Ambedkar travelled to Amritsar in the 1930s and offered to take Amrit convert to Sikhi along with his millions of dalit followers. The Gaddars in Sikh leadership at the time Master Tara Singh and the SGPC clowns (or soon to become SGPC), consulted with Gandhi and Nehru i.e: Indian government who urged them to decline Dr Ambedkars proposal. Obviously Indian government didn't want Sikhi to spread and the jatt elitist leaders couldn't have so many Dalits possibly threatening their power base so ... Offer rejected. Had this offer been accepted the picture would be very different now..we would be looking at potentially 250 to 300 million Sikhs in India. Instead we are looking at a shrinking kaum..Sikh population in Punjab is dropping year on year. We wouldn't be crying about drug problems and female infanticide right now if we had competent leadership who are not traitorous sell outs .

I fully agree...Groomers have been there for at least the last 30 years...They will always be there this is beyond our control. What is in our control is raising children responsibly and instilling Sikhi knowledge ethics and a strong sense of identity. Neglecting children and not not providing them with adequate attention and knowledge leaves them more vulnerable to threats like Grooming. If you send a child into the world empty and unprepared...there's plenty of bad outside influences who will fill up that void.. If families don't give their their children the adquate time and attention..They will seek it elsewhere and the groomers are ready and waiting to manipulate and exploit this lack of attention. Part of this responsibility is to have strong role models within the family both male and female. If you show your children that alcoholism and partying is an acceptable lifestyle...Don't be surprised if they head down the same road.

That's exactly what would and could have happened but the caste supremacist Jatts of SGPC feared they would lose their influence and and control. In 1936 Dr Ambedkar went to Amritsar himself a and put forwardrward a proposal to bring his followers 60 million dalit Hindus into Sikhi. They feared that if such a large number of Dalits joined Sikhi the dynamics would change and the majority of low caste Sikhs would mean they would lose their power and influence. This is the state of the sell outs and Gaddars Sikhs have had as leaders and continue to have in the SGPC. If they would have accepted Dr Ambedkars offer Sikhs could have numbered over 250 million today in India. With numbers comes influence and power The biggest wasted opportunity in Sikh history due to caste pride ...
