  1. No families should not be named and shamed; instead they should be educated and provided proper reasoning and justification as to why this practice is wrong. I've seen too many times that people meaning well have angrily tried to force somebody to believe their view or opinion and it leaves the other people even more determined to go against them. We need to be professional in our approach and echo tue true sentiments of Sikhi by teaching people the right way.
  2. WJKK WJKF I AM A NORMAL PANJABI YOUNG LAD AND I HAVE BEEN GROWING MY KES FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. I HAVE NEVER SHAVED HOWEVER I AM NOW 21 YEARS OLD AND MY FACIAL HAIR HAS STILL NOT DEVELOPED PROPERLY. ALTHOUGH MY FRIENDS/FAMILY SOMETIMES TAKE THE MICK CALLING ME NAMES LIKE 'BUMFLUFF BAZ' OR 'BILLY GOAT GRUFF', I DONT REALLY TAKE IT INTO ACCOUNT. IT DOESN'T BOTHER ME HOWEVER I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MANY,MANY PEOPLE WHO SAY THAT IF I SHAVED ONCE THEN MY BEARD WOULD COME BACK PROPERLY. I DON'T REALLY PRACTICE SIKHI, DON'T DO MUCH PAATH, EAT MEAT AND I DO A LOT OF BAD STUFF. I JUST WANTED YOUR OPINIONS, IF YOU WERE IN MY POSITION AND YOU HAD VERY LITTLE FACIAL HAIR AT MY AGE, WOULD YOU SHAVE ONCE JUST SO THAT IT GROWS BACK PROPERLY? PLEASE WRITE BACK ASAP.
  3. Pfft - I'm a Muslim and she doesn't seem so knowledgable on the matter. Just because something is Halal doesn't mean it's obbligatory! TO THOSE WHO ARE REPLYING TO THE CHATKA/GOAT ISSUE AT HAZOOR SAHIB, INSTEAD OF ARGUING AND BICKERING THEIR, ANSWER THE VIDEO.. HE SAYS THAT PLANTS CAN FEEL PAIN AND HAVE SENSES TOO, SO THEN IS EATING MEAT WRONG BECAUSE PLANTS ALSO FEEL PAIN WHEN YOU KILL THEM? WE SIT THERE MAKING A MOCKERY OF THE VIDEO, LAUGHING AT THE ENGLISH, ETC BUT WHAT IF SOMEONE CAME HERE AND SAW THIS VIDEO? LETS BEGIN TO ANSWER QUESTIONS WITHOUT BRUSHING THINGS UNDER THE CARPET..
  4. I dont know what to answer to this video because im not very knowledgeable however zakir naik is very knowledgeable on islam and ive seen some of his videos on youtube, he even answered the questions of a hindu woman live who then converted to islam.. Can any GurSikh here answer the video even by text here so we may know the Sikh viewpoint on this issue?
  5. What a lot of people don't realize is that Nihaal as a media personality has a duty to stay impartial, just because he comes from a Sikh background doesn't mean he has to have the same views as the rest of us.. And maybe he believes what we do to but has to stay impartial as a professional? As for forced conversions, we all know they happen what needs to be done now is girls who have been victim to these must come forwards and share their stories to help other girls.. because silence is deadly.. As the saying goes, committing a sin is a sin, allowing a sin to be committed is an even bigger sin.. But who am I to talk, im a hypocrite.. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  6. Bro ive got that quote, I meant something that answers the above questions asked by the bibi.. Something directly related to the point.. Thanks for your replies
  7. Nice post tubelight but I wanted some quotes from Gurbani to show that we are held in the same regard and to basically refute her points. Thanks
  8. I was asked this by a muslim bibi: "you got me thinking... firstly about god creating us perfect, well you kinda contadicted yourself, you said we are created perfect but when reincarnated we may not be. we either are or aren't???? Secondly the statement "men and women are equal" i completely disagree... stating the obvious most men have knobs (with or without forskin lol) and women (excluding transexuals) obviously don't, equal?? no. Women give birth men on the other hand don't, equal no??? etc etc we are not equal biologically so that statement is a major FLAW im afraid to say. of course we should be equal in our faith to god, convenant of his duties and duties to mankind but thats where it ends. if we are equal then why are there 10 male gurus?? or is there one woman aswell? but hey still no equality. ps once again thank you for your time" MY REPLY: As I said previously, its a hard concept to grasp and only people with a high level of spirituality can understand it, the soul is created perfect but due to positive and negative actions it must go through the cycle of life and death and rebirth.. At the end of the day if we go by the islamic viewpoint, those before islam have no chance because they couldnt be saved?! Razia that was a ridiculous comment to make, men and women are equal in the sense that we are all human and we are all God's children.. Men and women have different biological bodily functions but that doesnt mean a woman is inferior to a man or a man is superior to a woman.. Fix up, Sikhs believe in 100% equality regardless of caste, colour, creed, gender, etc! CAN SOMEBODY ANSWER THE MUSLIM BIBI'S QUESTION WITH SOME QUOTES FROM GURBANI BECAUSE IM NOT THAT KNOWLEDGEABLE ON SIKHI, SO ANY HELP WOULD BE BRILLIANT! WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH
  9. Reading some of the posts here and the reactions, I guess we should all just bury our heads in the sand and pretend its not happening.. Reality check: IT IS.. I know one of them girls and I just checked her facebook and theres pictures of her being groped by a muslim dude (how do I know this? his name is tagged in the pictures).. With no disrespect intended, I know its very important to listen to Katha and how important Gurbani is, but this attitude of "downloading Katha is more important than saving the youth" is EXACTLY what has got us in this situation in the FIRST place! Katha is wonderful but we need to keep our youth in tune, unless its the same Amrithdharis downloading Katha and arguing about the colour of Keski or whatever.. Just a thought from a lowly 'Sikh"
  10. Waheguru ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji Ki Fateh Nice to hear you are inclined towards Sikhi and wish to take Amrit.. do you mind me asking the reasons as to what attracted you to Sikhi, its amazing that you made such a U-turn, well done bro! Take care,
  11. What a coincedence, I was reading Search Sikhism today and nur mohammed came up, I was well chuffed LOL Akaaaaaaaaaaaaal!
  12. Whats the difference between a historical Gurudwara and a "colony Gurudwara" - at the end of the day where there is Parkash of Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji then that is a Gurughar.. so why does it matter if Sangat choose a historical Gurughar to get married? its the same thing, Gurughar is Gurughar.. We have much more important factors such as caste Gurudwaras to worry about and here were talking about whether marriage should be carried out in a historical Gurudwara.. where does it say in Bani one cant get married at a historical Gurughar?! Serious people sort yourselves out, I am the biggest moorakh out there but is it just me who feels annoyed that we make mountains out of molehills?
  13. Wjkk Wjkf I read some of the posts and he sounded like an amazing soul, never heard of him before though.. its a bit strange how these people have so much Gyaan and so much to give the world and they have less 'publicity and media coverage' compared to say bhangrastars or actors.. Wow @ the prediction of his merging with Waheguru..
  14. No offence to anyone here but why do we get into a strop when someone plays a Sikh in a bollywood movie? especially now they are portraying Sikhs in a 'positive' light.. I mean before when they used to make us the drunks/uneducated/farmers/etc. then you can say "yeah they are taking the biscuit" but now they are actually doing good things.. Salman khan has been known to be a womaniser/smoker and he still respected the sentiments of our religion during shooting so whats so wrong in that? Sanjay Dutt is making a movie about a historical Sikh battle and before anyone has even seen a trailer, people start talking bakwaas.. Singh is King had a few funny bits which could be seen as offensive but when the hell did we get so uptight? every community can take a bit of a joke, it wasnt like they were disrespecting our Gurus or Bani?! Singh is King actually had a good message and shows how Sikhi changes people for the better.. Yes the Sunny deol movie took the biscuit 'bole so nihaal' but now if they are representing us positively (keshdari with turban AND beard) is there anything wrong in that?
  15. I want a few years ago and we stopped at a lovely little Gurudwara in Rajhasthan, had langar there and just chilled for a bit was a good experience.. then we went to Gurudwara Nanaksar, I cant remember where abouts it is exactly, ah I got it, its in INDORE and its a fantastic Gurudwara and the Sant baba is brillaint, very knowledgeable and just a generally pleasent fellow Hazoor Sahib is amazing but I felt I wasted my visit because I didnt pay full attention, its amazing that your going I hope you have a great time.. Wjkk Wjkf
