  5. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! i ve been going to it ever since i can remember but i dont think im going to it this yr i dont think it should be in y.c who is looking at sikhs there? there is only peach trees there. and people who are watching are the people who have "parking $5 " signs in front of their grage door. we should have it in sanfrancisco like was done one yr. i remember that when i looked down the street there was large numbers of non sikhs who were stopping other sikhs as they walked and asking them about sikhi and who we were. and shop keepers who stopped working and watched the nagar kirtan go by. that actually shed some light on who we are. but peach trees and tractors? its true that there are a lot of punjabi ppl in y.c and maybe thats why the choose to have it there.. but thats the only "good" reason to have it there. otherwise its just some greedy money grabbers who are thinking only of how many ppl will come and matha tek in their Gurdwara. HAHAHAHA how convenient!
  6. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! manjot singh is busy with school (he goes to school in sf but didnt move there). and a month or so ago broke his toe. thats why he hasnt been posting. he will be back in sometime though.
  7. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! im sorry to divert the original topic but i have somthing to say about all this yoga philosphy! for those who are wondering what place yoga has in sikhism your answers can be found in Sidh Gohst bani. this is the bani that is discussion between Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the sidhs. Naam Simran is the REAL and TRUE yoga. Our Guru Sahibaan are the REAL yogis. Yogis and what not may get some sort of occult powers and they may get to enjoy different khands but the real way to have COMPLETE union with WAHEGURU is through the teachings laid down by Guru Sahib. SATGUR HAI BOHITA VIRLEH KINNEH VEECHAREYA!! The True Guru is the boat, but few are those who realize this. The answers are out there we must READ Gurbani to see them. READ RECITE REFLECT REMEMBER REALIZE
  8. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! at my house i found a dvd called shudh santhea by Giani Thakur Singh (whos katha i really enjoy). the dvd has guide on oorra arrah (punjabi alphabet and numbers) and some guide on some nitnem baanis. I did not really get a chance to go through it but wat i saw seems pretty good. maybe if someone has seen the entire dvd they can let us know. it seems like they have done a good sewa, and they plan to release many more katha mp3 and dvds in the future.
  9. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! this Gurdwara is in fairfield california like 3 mins from my house. but i wonder...the guys picture ( gyani avtar singh) look like the same avtar singh missionary wale some of our singhs here encountered who was selling kala afghana books at a Nagar Kirtan here and told us he wasnt going to stop selling them either. :T:
  10. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! bhai sahib was an incredible Gursikh. Of all the stories of the shaheed singhs that inspired and brought me to Gursikhi,Bhai Sahib kurbani played a huge role. a lot to say but i will leave it at that. you can check out a book review of Tay Deeva Jagdaa Rahaygaa here Teh Deevah Jaagdah Rehehgah waheguru...waheguru...wahguru...waheguru...WAHEGURU!!
  11. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! lol... actually the riddle is all nubmers are made from the numbers 0-9. in terms of Gurmat why is the number 9 the best number? LOL @ nine kakkars
  12. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! here is a nice one of Bhai Jeevan Singh and Uptej Singh (Teji) :a+
  13. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! you asked does anyone know if kala afghana is amritdharee... well he wears a kirpan and seems to have uncut hair but this is probably just a costume for him to establish creditability. he would like others to think he is a sikh so whatever garbage he feeds you, will seem more authentic comming from a "fellow sikh" rather than if say he was a mona or somthing. he would love nothing more than to take away what has kept us going all these years (our sharda). hope that answers your question
  14. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! i would like to request ALL sangat to STAY AWAY AND BOYCOTT that place it is hardev shergill (giddargills) personal dera where he entertains guest suchs as kala afghana and other pakhandi panthic dhust... STAY AWAY FROM THat PLACE ITS NOT A GURDWARA!!!!!!!!
  15. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!! when baba sri chand (Guru Nanaks eldest son) met Guru Raam Das Ji he asked Guru Ji why his beard was so long. and SatGuru Ji said "Its so long so i can use it to wipe the feet of great people such as yourself" and Guru Ji bent down to do so and baba sri chand moved back in suprise and said “this humble nature of yours makes you worthy of being the Guru. i do not have that humble nature which is why i was not worthy of being a Guru.” waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!!
