I feel there is a lack of TV programming on Sikhism, as the third largest religion in the UK I think there should be more programming. I think we should lobby the BBC , ITV etc. What does everyone think?

well, I have spoke to some people, and they state some of it is true. But particualrly in the case of SIkh Women of British natinality being forced into prositition in Pakistan then why has'nt the UK goverment done anything , why has'nt this been announced in our Gurudwara and the issue raised to the height of politics in the respective countries?

Do you think you are being a little harsh, he is Sikh presenter with a Turban , this is a big plus i think.

I would like to pose a serious question which warrants a serious answer, I would like a response from learned Sikhs that know about Sikh history and politics, this is a sensitive issue and I no not want it taken in the wrong way, but I feel this is an important issue that needs to be exposed. During the 1984 riots, genocide was committed against the Sikh population of Inida, A number crimes were committed, does anyone hold any statistics of the crimes, example murder, rape, looting ages etc. Also I have read articles on the net which state that Sikh Women/ Girls were kidnapped and forced into prostitution in 1984, also in recent decades Sikh Women/Girls have been forced into prostitution who were of UK citizenship and taken to Pakistan, or of Pakistani nationality and kidnapped. I would like this substantiated once and for all, what are that statistics and what are the real facts without bias. Also if the above is true I believe that the Sikh Sangat UK and/or from around the world should put all there efforts into retrieving these Women/Girls. I do not think I am being naive, because if most of our relatives and friends can drive around in Mercs, BMW’s etc then why can’t we get together and invest in a project to get our sisters back from these criminal, are we now that weak that we cannot raise a pen to help, if this is so then we are truly dirt compared to our ancestors. What are your opinions ?

OK the date has passed this does not mean that we cannot take action to petiton the university to ask why they let a person that has commited genocide against humanity was allowed to do a speach who do we need to contact to get this sorted

I think we as Sikhs need to categorise ourselves as Sikhs under the UK census and not asian or indian. I think there has been ongoing lobbying by Sikh parties in the UK for this to occur, we have more of a reason to campaign for this. For one we should not categorise ourselves as Indians, as we are not. We all know that the India government has implemented such genocide against out Sikh brothers and sisters in India, that I for one do not want to be categorised as Inidan.Secoondly the term used widely in the UK for anyone brown is asian, I do not want to be classed as asian, the main reason being that the indigenous (white people) population get us mixed up with muslims or hindus and vice versa. The UK crime statistics indicate rising perpetrator of crime being of Pakistani origin therefore they are most likely muslim, also in news reports the term asian is used allot, I think if a particular racial group is committing the majority of crime they should be idenfied and brought out in the open, and the stats not hidden. I know the Hindus in the UK are lobbying the government to be categorised as Hindus and not asian due to the London bombing. I know we as Sikhs have for a long time been campaigning for this but I think if we all now stand-up and support this issue, as this will go a long way in safe-guarding Sikhs from any hostile actions by the indigenous population.

I do not think much of you live in the real world, you canadians or americans live in in a more civil society (this is good) the inner cities of the UK have become a war zone. Peacemaker - needs to shutup - and only add an entry when specifically asked too.YOU do not understand what goes on in society in the UK particularly the universities and colleges of the UK, maybe you are asleep if u are a UK citezen... Islam = Muslims for me and most people. If people do something wrong , they should be brought to justice. Just imagine if one of your relatives died in the London Bombing, would feel the same way about these muslim extremists. There was a recent poll done in the UK where the average muslim on the street in the UK were asked if they support the bombing a large percentage supported the bombing- this is fact - wake up. A large proportion of the muslim community support the bombing, for me the community did not come out in the media and condone the bombing, the only reason these people are not converting you by force is that there is not enough of them yet. Did you know muslim MP's were lobbing the government to stop muslims marrying non muslims and converting out of Islam, although they try there upmost to convert non-muslims It just seems to be a one way process with these muslims there way or the high-way..... I have grown up with Muslism I know how they think, they have a inward facing society with the ethos of, if you are not muslim there is something wrong with you….they will only shop at muslim shops, they will only vote for muslim councillors even if they do not agree with them, they will only marry there cousins…but try and have sexuall releations with non muslims before they are married..like sex slaves when will people wake up, the problem is starring you right in your face, if you see a pig, its a pig not a cow!

Tell u why there has been a rise of the BNP, it is because of the Muslim extremism problem in the UK this is plainly obvious everyone knows this , we should lobby the government to stop allowing Muslims to emigrate to this country, for one there pasts are not checked (ie criminal if they have one.), and then there the ones that have come over here illegally, how do we as UK citizens know what this people are like . I think the government should chuck out all the extreme Muslims out of the UK which will be alot of people, if they do not like the country they should leave. Ask yourselves this how comes every other single immigrant community have assimilated into society well, other then the Muslims..... I think people in Canada & America you take heed of what is happening in the UK and Europe with the Muslim problem, you guys should lobby the Canadian government to stop the migration of Muslims to your liberal country before it becomes a war zone, which is true of the inner cities of the UK , sometime I think I am in a third world. The government here is a joke I think we should not vote for Labour going forward....
