  2. Veerjee.. I remember baba deep singh jee as a sant and warrior figure but not as a political figure or head of some jatha.. Just lets be more into universal sikhi rather than saying he is from this group or that group.. Lets discuss what babajee did for the paanth Btw.. my nanakayyy (mom's place) is next to the baba deep singh jee gurdwara in amritsar.. (i think that's where baba's jees head got chopped off by enemy sword blow

  10. Veteran day is our Day tooo.. We should remember those who gave away everything for our future ! Today in the Kohima cemetery, among the 1,378 grave markers, is the famous Kohima memorial with its historic inscription: "When you go home tell them of us, and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today." (By Sikh Soldiers) BUT SAD NONE of us remember them, none of us (including me) tried to give at least a moment of silence of rememberance for their bravery ! They died and heavily got injured for us, for our betterment.. for our future !!! SO SINGHOOO Whenever next time u hear Veteran Day, Remember Sikh Soldiers who served for Justice in every major World Wars !! Sikhs in World War I Injured Sikh soldier in france Sikhs in Gallapoli where whole battalion died in trenches Sikhs in World War II Sikh Gunners in the Kurram Valley. Circa 1937 A Sikh-manned Bren gun team of the 4th Indian division participating in manoeuvres prior to Operation Compass, the December 1940 offensive against the Italian Army in the desert of Western Egypt and Eastern Libya. Sikh soldiers storm a German trench, after exploding it with hand grenades. Circa 1945. A lil info for those who don't know the sikh soldiers history !! By the middle of the nineteenth century, the kingdom collapsed, and it was incorporated into British India. After some time the relations between the Sikhs and the British improved, and they joined the army in great numbers. The valor of Sikh soldiers during the two world wars was internationally recognized. Most people associate the Sikhs with the army and sometimes with violence. This is a very inaccurate picture and misleading. As the allied nations stepped closer to the second global conflict, this time with the Imperial Japanese and the Germans, Sikh soldiers once again stepped forward and became the back bone of the British Indian Army. Despite the rising voice of independence from the British, in India during WWII, Sikhs still made the majority of the forces that India gave to the war effort. India entered the war when the then viceroy of India, Lord Linlithgow, without consulting Indian leaders, declared war against Germany on behalf of India. There was widespread violence in many cities all across India as British quelled demonstrations that would finally lead to end the British rule in India. However, states like the Punjab from where the concentration of recruits into the British army came, looked curiously at the events. With only voluntary recruitment into the army, young Sikh men helped to swell the Indian army from 189,000 at the start of the war to over 2.5 million at the end of the war. ef='http://gsm.sikhpride.com/art8.htm' target='_blank'>Full Article Click Here
  11. see singhs can even beat singhnia in their own game (cooking)
  12. okay. guys do u mean bow all on fours ?? like we do when we enter the gurdwara sahib ?? cauz whenever my kirpan fell i pick it up and touch it my forehead.. kinda saying sorry hehe.. but if that's part of bow u r talking about then i agree with it.. but not all on fours like in gurdwara.. :T:
  13. Now.. are u talking about chinesse wala rishkkaaa or India walla rishka.. Depends on what model of rishkaa u r talking about
  14. you can only be a pure soldier once youve become a pure saint and follow ALL the rehat....so its not necissarily just an amritdhari. Coz I could just tkae amrit and sit around all day doing nothing, and that does not make me a sant sipahi hanna. Sarbloh Soulja Veerjee look at this way.. yeah one can become soldier without the amrit.. look at all the non-sikh american amry etc. Becoming the soldier part is easy, but being soldier and the sant part is tough.. That's where amrit is.. Amrit gaves u both soldier and SANT roop and if it's followed by pure heart then one can be able to fight Sava Lakh !!! Sipaheey without sant part is pretty useless and that's not what our guru jees is looking for.. He is looking for both ! Warrior without Gurbani is nothing but just a moorakh !
  15. Sure with no problem at all veer = brother Bhull Chukk Maff = Forgive me if i said something wrong or offend anyone here Vichaar = Spread the word of guru (ex: gurbani vicchar)
  16. WOAH.. i hate to say.. but i don't agree with 0.1 bit on what it said about Female can't do this or that (it must be put in by mahants) Also.. one just can't follow all these rehats at one start.. FOr example.. I do eat and then do the nitnem and all other stuff.. so there are STAGES.. One can't just jump and he/she will be able to do all these stuffs.. and plus sikhi isn't all about strictness that YOU have to do all this and then u will be called a sikh.. If one has love inside, then all these stuff automatically comes from deep inside.. If one who doesn't have luv inside and want to do all these stuffs.. it will be hard for him/her to understand the importance behind em..
  17. By this event.. One should realized the POWER of sacche Paatshah, who prevented this incident thru teh singh !!!!! Take notice of the indirect work of our guru sahibs
  18. i remeber we had huge debate on this topic @ Americansikhs yahoo groups.. I think u was there too Akjforever veerjee.. I see nothing wrong of having vaheguroo simran in between the shabad.. But there's no point in arguing with gurdwara ppls.. They are too much caught into the politics and stuff.. They would literally do anything just to be in Ego powered seat "aka Im in power".. So yeah best thing to do is.. Leave let them be the way they are ! They don't take any additional steps to bring the awarenes of sikhi in our community.. They only want to please the majority of sangat rather than pleasing the sacche patshah..
  19. HAHAHA.. one of the TOP post,, Awesome !!! Now i will make suer to visit ur house if i comes to uk for sikhi camps and stuff
  20. This explains the question of many sangat by R_K bhanjee/veer: Kirpans strictly reserved for Amritdharees.. The thing we should discuss : Was there such a thing : amritdharee sikh and non-amritdharee sikh during guru jees time?? Cauz after 1699 Guru sahib jee said to all sikhs to get amrit to be a Sikh... That means every sikhs should be amritshak.. if one isn't then why he/she should pretend to be a sikh? Keeping a kirpan doesn't mean that one only has to keep the item with his/her body.. Keeping kipran means keeping the rehit of doing 7 bania daily, amrit vella naam simran, following all teachings of guru sahib and so many other things...
  21. WOW.. b'day day after Gurpurab.. U guys and girl sure is LUCKY !!!! Happy b'day to My twoo veer and a mkaur bhanjeee !!
