  1. As a politician he doesn't owe to any particular group of people, he owes to his constituents and his constituents are vary diverse group of people. Just because many sikhs may have voted for him or may be part of his party donor list does not mean they will now dictate his personal life. With that being said, he did made his engagement as photo up by inviting media so i guess its fair game if people don't like what they are seeing. They are entitled to voice their opinions. I've seen reactions from wider Canadian audience too both positive and being thrown off comments who invites media in personal family event -very tacky at the very least. As a amritdhari singh if he falls in love with non amritdhari and marries non amritdhari, thats between her, Guru and sikh gyani who administer their anand karaj where she be encouraged to adapt Gursikhi life style and thats up to them since it be done in front of hazoori of Guru maharaj its between him/her and Guru, so again its none of our business as him being regular baptised sikh* (he is not a jathedar of misal, sikh leader) he is not really answerable to fellow sikhs but rather panj pyare and or sikh gyani who administers their anand karaj. So if you have sikhi related issue with him, take it up to panj pyares. He has done tremendous work for wider Canadian community including sikh community, none can take that away from him. *Wonders* if he was a regular baptised sikh not famous canadian politican would he be subjected to this type of scrutiny ? I didn't think so. Now as far being him being gursikh role model goes, is he claiming to be role model. If people wrap their head around personality worship and bunch of human pointers and consider him to be role model thats their prerogative not his. Heck, its not like its emanating from him that he is role model, its not like he is declaring every where he goes that he is role model. I've find people to have unrealistic expectations from others and put them on pedestal and get all disappointed if they don't meet our standards. Would you be guys be satisfied if her fiance waters down amrit like many akaalis and sgpc leaders have done- them and their spouses taking amrit just for sake of getting seat and position in sikh panth. I wish them best of luck.

  2. I think we can learn from our famous parcharikhs and sants/panj pyares-knights of the panth, mostly they don't attack individuals/make it personal rather they address their discourse and parchar to collective conditioned society who are unconscious and have fallen in slumber of five vices. This is much more effective way as it addresses to conditioned mindset of society we live in as most of us are affected by five vices. They don't just uplift people but also uplift and raise whole worldly mindset and society.

  3. Sorry to break this to you but if you don't know Jagmeet personally how you can judge him? Afterall, all you know is the 'image' portrayed of him. For all politicians (and rising ones) this image is carefully nurtured by a political party machine. They get media training, coaching the whole shabang, so in effect they become like actors in a role. Would you vote for Jamie foxx because he played the US president in 'White house down'? What politcians say and don't say in public is governed by what their advisors tell them will appeal to voters they want. If Politicians could make a difference, how come after almost 100 years since universal suffrage in places like Canada, UK, US etc, they are still not amazing utopias, even though every politician who seeks office promises a better tomorrow, then 4-5 yrs later after winning power, the next person comes along and offers a better tomorrow, because society has got worse. There is a 'system' and the system continues despite the different faces on the puppets in office

No. Great effort and maximum respect to the Seva of all the artists and Sikh Youth UK, but sadly i dont think its going to make a massive difference as a whole.

  5. Do you have any Gurbani shabad that will support your view point? Pain is the ego; I exist as a separate entity from Akal Purakh. Such duality will never come in the Guru. "I" does not exist, so what pain is even felt to experience and then produce compassion for others? The Gurus never had ego in them. They are the truth. Take a different feeling like sadness. The Gurus were never sad for they fully understood Vaheguru's hukam and were the hukam and Vaheguru. They did not have an intellect like a human. They took the human mind to the highest realm of sachkhand. Sachkhand state has no pain or sadness.

  6. This is not an official portrait..... it is the creation of giani thakur singh based on what he was told about what mata Ji looks like. The best place to get a pic of Mata is from Mata Ji’s actual asthaan...... Gurdwara Mata Sahib Deva in Hazur Sahib. They have an old portrait of Mata there & it looks nothing like this picture. Theres massive amounts of kirpa at Gurdwara Mata Sahib Deva..... I’m pretty certain the jathedar (currently baba Prem Singh) & other sevadars there would have a better idea of what Mata looks like based on personal darshan etc

Can we make jagsaw a political website and hand him the keys? @jagsaw I respect that you have an opinion, but you come across to me as angry with a clear political agenda, which just makes me not really trust your intentions for posting. Like it's one thing to go to church and another thing to try and turn it into your political platform.

  13. It's best you stay clear of Ghagga! So Guru Sahib who is the deliverer of humanity, dispels all pains, jagat jot, aap parmeshar, giver of life - experienced the same pain as humans? Is this your own mind telling you this (MAN mat) or do you actually have proof? Bhai Mati Dass read Japji Sahib whilst being sawn alive, Bhai Taru Singh Jee survived for several days without scalp, Bhai Bidhi Chandh was saved from a burning Kiln, yet you think Guru Jee who is also Nirankar felt pain, balle tere! The English translations are never great but the last line explains how Maharaj during Shaheedi did not even utter ਸੀ ਤਿਲਕ ਜੰਞੂ ਰਾਖਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਾ ਕਾ ॥ Tilaka Jaannjoo Raakhaa Parbha Taa Kaa ॥ Keeno Bado Kaloo Mahi Saakaa ॥ He protected the forehead mark and sacred thread (of the Hindus) which marked a great event in the Iron age. Saadhan Heti Eitee Jini Karee ॥ Seesu Deeyaa Paru See Na Aucharee ॥13॥ For the sake of saints, he laid down his head without even a sign.13. ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਅ. ੫ - ੧੩/(੪) - ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ

  14. If you read the koran. The so called words from Allah he is often talking ill and bad mouthing about his own supposed creation. Like a sneaky friend who wants to turn you against someone he tells lies and propaganda against your other friends or relatives (and in the case of religion ....against non-believers) and then tries to make himself sound like the best and everything for you. Weak and vulnerable people reading it will then fall into the trap thinking yes everyone is against me (ie the kufr) let me spread hatred and fight against them as they hate my creator. Very clever mind tricks psychological brainwashing... Same is true of the bible the same sort of angry, jealous and bloodthirsty God trying to turn believers in him against non-believers.

  15. Latest news on this is that shes been jailed for 3years. I would jail her for life with no prospect for release. Also Its wrong for the Indian article writers to say she is british Sikh obviously the indian hindu fascists are going to play on the love jihad angle and try to malign british sikhs saying these converted girls are dangerous. And yes they are dangerous because they are vulnerable and mentally ill and coming from bad family environments. I would say 70% of the fault of her conversion to islamic terrorism is her family's fault and 30% is her muslim friends and islamic propaganda online/leaflets. It's time families recognize whats going on with their kids and fight this abrahamic plague. Check what she was saying and doing in the articles below http://www.timesnownews.com/international/article/british-sikh-girl-sandeep-samra-isis-islamic-states-syria-marrying-extremists-passport/192513 http://www.tribuneindia.com/news/punjab/uk-sikh-teen-plotted-to-join-isis-in-syria/534307.html http://www.itv.com/news/central/2018-01-26/student-radicalised-online-jailed-for-planning-to-commit-terror-attacks-in-syria/

  21. They toe the same line as the wider press to appease the UK government, without whose support they will be unable to charge a silly licence fee! India has always had the UK by the knackers, if it doesn't comply, it simply threatens to pull out of lucrative present and or future deals or share information on terror suspects - much like the Saudis. Which is why petitioning and protests usually bring about ZERO results.

  33. Sant ji is saying that Naamdharis twist Gurbani where Gurbani uses the word Naamdhari and Sant. Sant ji goes further and says a Naamdhari came to where he was and was asking about Dasam Bani. Sant ji didn't know he came, but Sant ji says, if i knew i would have given this Naamdhari a proper response. Sant ji goes further and says ask the Naamdhari how many Gurus they have and they will tell you we have 16 or 17. Then Sant ji says, why is this Naamdhari coming here to ask us about Dasam Bani when they don't even believe in Dasam Bani (Sant ji is saying why don't you go ask your Guru, since you call him a Guru, he must know everything...Sant ji is showing how ignorant these Naamdharis are). Further they distort Gurbani by saying a Sant is born in one place that is special to them. So Sant ji ask these Naamdhari, what about the Sant that are born in different areas like Amritsar are they fake? Again Sant ji says the Naamdhari don't believe in Dasam Bani, so who gave them the right to come and ask us about Dasam Bani when you don't believe in the Gurus. Then Sant ji says if this Naamdhari has faith in Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj, then we will tell you the answer pretaining to Dasam Bani. Further Sant ji says beloved Sikhs of the Guru, no human can be the Guru. ONly the tenth Guru can be the Guru, and the ten Gurus along with Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj. The Naamdharis go gone about Bhai Ram Singh and try to prove their points they are right by stating what Bhai Ram Singh did. But Sant ji says, Bhai Ram Singh was Amritdhari (wore a gathra and Kirpan). Sant ji says i have proof of Bhai Ram Singh that he was Amritdhari. The proof he has is Baba Gurbachan Singh ji has done his sangat and their is tapes made of this. Also Baba Gurbachan SIngh ji and Bhai Ram Singh ji lived like brothers and treated each other like brothers. Sant ji then goes further and says Bhai Ram Singh was Amritdhari and a Gursikh that was fearless, also did his nitnem. So i ask the Naamdhari, where are your Kirpans? You say you follow Bhai Ram Singh, so follow him and wear Kirpans. Next Sant ji says we should never slander a Gursikh like Bhai Ram Singh who accepted Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj as Guru and was a Amrithdari. You, Naamdharis now do all these rituals and go against Gurmat. Now the Naamdharis say that their fourteenth Guru is Jagjit. Since you Naamdharis say he is a Guru, then get him to stop the rock like Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji Maharaj did. Tell him to get a plant that is sour to become sweet like Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji Maharaj did. Sant ji lastly says if this Jagjit guy can, then i'll accept him as Guru (obvious this Jagjit guy can't and is misleading people). These are all manmat things these Naamdharis are doing and the recording end there, but Sant ji was still saying more about these fake people.

  34. I only know about Naamdharis from reading here. On the surface, someone super into naam sounds good to me. I can see why they are controversial though, if they have "contributed" what turbinator said. We all have egos and get angry or we wouldn't be playing our roll in Kehl. I like this group, the opinions are diverse, all it takes is being tired or a hormone spike and stuff that maybe could be funny isn't. It's all good. You oughta hear Aikidokas opinions of each of each other. Means way of harmony and none of us get along lol, factionally speaking. A lot of that comes from a schism, of everyone trying to improve upon or do "their" aikido. Almost nobody comprehensively follows O' Sensei's teachings, they always want to add mixed up stuff. (Except my group right? Lol) When I train under other sensei I forget how we do it and do it the way the sensei teaches. I've learned something every time this way. I then wash myself and do some hard core basics and soon as they are gone heh. When a sempai teaching in our home dojo, doesn't follow the way the dojocho teaches it, that's that shi* I don't like. It's both true that all those other sensei and their students are aikidoka and also true that by deviating too much puts the art at risk for surviving intact. So I love em when I see em, smh when I watch their vids, and hope for the best. It's a fine line aikidoka or not, wrecking aikido or not, I sometimes worry about the preservation of the art, but there's not much I can do but train and share aiki the way I learned it. It's in Vahegurus hands. Mostly we train at home, but we still travel to train with others and respect them. Long semi related tangent ...I think you both make good points. Question. Do they consider themselves sikhs? Less than three years I can come to uk and drink some bhang with you guys and we can laugh about all the forum warrioring and chant the naam. Turbinator, was that you on American Idol or some imposter?

If none are high and none are low, how do you pull a man down to his rightful place? Didn't you just get called about your own rehit? In the past, when people called you out and they did it in a mean way, how'd that make you feel? Maybe the dude could benefit from reading your profile pic. Keep the confused looks on all my posts going, I'm going to print it on a t-shirt. Last question. How does saying "f" Jagmeet Singh embody the spirit of helping a brother? At least in the south they say "bless his soul" or "bless his heart" when they mean f that dude.

  38. We complain because we don't have enough Sikhs in politics. When we do have one we still complain because he's not a Mahapurkh. A generalisation that one could make is Sikhs in political power have not always adhered to maryada as strictly as janta. The same is true for many other communities, and just like Jagmeet they know where their loyalties lie - for the qaum. I find it hard to believe that his motives are otherwise. If they were, he would have been at an advantage had he still been a mona rather than an Amritdhari. While there's no doubt that Raajneeti from a Dharmic perspective should always contain elements of righteousness, the means to reaching the primary objective, which I believe in this case to be the betterment of the Sikh Qaum and amassing political influence and power to wield in the international arena, may well be outwardly adharmic. This especially applies at a personal level whereby one may be exempt from certain religious laws to serve the greater good. Executing Ranneeti and Raajneeti simply cannot be held to the standards of Rehat Maryada namely due to the fact that this is Kalyug. As stated in another post we cannot and should not expect the neetikaars to be pious and religious figures. Unless of course we're happy being personae non gratae forever. If it later becomes evident that his motivations, intentions, and loyalties lie elsewhere, by all means tear him down.

  40. There's a lot of pangtis in gurbani about kache gurus. Find those. Alot of pangtis that say the true guru is gurbani. But as another poster said, leaving the naamdhari to his beliefs might be best. As they r a small community, they have more resources to spend on their community. My sister learned taanti saaj from them. They make their children go every summer to 3 month long camps, where they learn to play taanti saaj and do amritvela , and learn asa di vaar plus dasam baani on saaj. So lots of skills there. We should not torh (break) someone if we are not willing to put in.the effort to jorh(connect) someone. Just saying, ur guru is fake, wat u believe is wrong is just torhing. Are u willing to do more than that? I wonder if that is wats wrong with india. Why it has no morals. Cuz the mughals made.wat ppl believe in idol worship wrong and a crime. Without educating them and sincerely changing their thoughts. Only forcing another religion.

  42. The Soul's Nature We souls are complete beings by ourselves, and don’t require the bodies we now inhabit. We have our own spiritual senses, mind, and intelligence. Our identities are unique, eternal, and unchanging, and can never be lost by merging with some homogeneous any other spiritual entity, apart from Wahiguru of course.. As spiritual beings, we are by constitution, eternally happy and full of knowledge. Sadness, ignorance, and death are unnatural for us, and that’s why we struggle against those things in this world. While God is infinite, we souls are small and are subordinate to Him. We exist to serve Him in love. Our intrinsic nature—our dharma—is to serve. That quality cannot be separated from us, just as heat cannot be separated from fire, and sweetness cannot be separated from sugar. We will find full satisfaction only in re-discovering our unique service to God. We have free will and some independence. We can choose to love and serve Wahiguru Akal Purukh, or we can choose not to, and can try to enjoy separately from Him in the material world, through man, maya and senses, thus perpetuate our stay in the mayavee creation in the endless cycles of births and deaths . While in the material world, we can choose to take up spiritual practices that will re-awaken our love for Him, and channelize it through His bhakti. For just saying Wahiguru I love you or I believe in you, we can never ever merge and become one with Him. Our thoughts, our intentions have to be materialized through His bhakti, in order to achieve total purity, and thus become worthy ,through His kirpa, His bakshish, to return back to our true Home Sach Khand, the realm of eternal ultimate Truth, bliss and wisdom. Sat Sree Akal.

  43. A tuchh wadeeayee of Beant Wahiguru Akal Purukh For endless ages, there was only utter darkness. There was no Earth or sky; there was only His Command. There was no day or night, no Moon or Sun; God sat in primal and profound meditative position. There were no sources of speech or food, no air or water. There was no creation or destruction, no birth or death. There were no continents, regions, seven oceans, rivers or flowing water. There were no heavenly realms, Earth or nether regions of the underworld. There was no destruction or time. There was no hell or heaven, no birth or death, no cycle of reincarnation. There was no Brahma, Vishnu or Shiva. No one was seen, except the One Lord. There was no female or male, no social class or caste to be born into; no one experienced pain or pleasure. There were no people of celibacy or charity; no one lived in the forests. There were no saints or seekers of living in peace. There were no yogis, no wandering pilgrims, no religious robes; no one called himself the master. There was no chanting or meditation, no self-discipline, fasting or worship. No one spoke or talked in duality. He Himself created and rejoiced; He Himself valued everything. There was no purification, no self-restraint, no rosary beads. There were no Gopis, no Krishna, no cows or cowherds. There were no tantras, no mantras and no hypocrisy; no one played the flute. There was no karma, no dharma, no buzzing fly of Maya. Social class and birth were not seen with any eyes. There was no emotional attachment, no death inscribed upon the forehead; no one meditated on anything. There was no slander, no seed, no soul and no life. There was no Gorakh and no Maachhindra. There was no spiritual wisdom or meditation, no ancestry or creation, no reckoning of accounts. There were no castes or social classes, no religious robes, no Brahmin or Kh'shaatriya. There were no demi-gods or temples, no cows or Gaayatri prayer. There were no burnt offerings, no ceremonial feasts, no cleansing rituals at sacred shrines of pilgrimage; no one worshipped in adoration. There were no Muslims, there was no Qazi. There was no Shaykh, or pilgrims to Mecca. There was no king and no worldly egotism; no one spoke of himself. There was no love or devotion, no Shiva, no energy or matter. There were no friends or companions, no semen or blood. He Himself has been the banker, and He Himself has been the merchant. There were no Vedas, Korans or Bibles, no Simritees or Shaastras. There was no recitation of the Puraanas, no sunrise or sunset. The Unfathomable Lord Himself was the speaker and the preacher; the unseen Lord Himself saw everything. When He so willed, He created the world. Without any supporting power, He sustained the Universe. He created Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. He fostered enticement and attachment to Maya. Rare is the person who listens to the word of the Guru's Shabad. He created the creation, and watches over it; His command is over all. He formed the planets, solar systems, nether regions and brought what was hidden to manifestation. No one knows His limits. This understanding comes from the perfect Guru. O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Truth are wonderstruck; singing His glorious praises, they are filled with wonder (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 1035). He established the Earth, the sky and the air, the water of the oceans, fire and food. He created the Moon, the stars and the Sun, night and day and mountains; He blessed the trees with flowers and fruits. He created the demigods, human beings and the seven oceans; He established the three worlds (life in water, on land and in the air) (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 1399). Not the Sun, the Moon, the planets, the seven continents, the oceans, food, or the wind - nothing is permanent. You alone, Lord, You alone (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 144). In the heavenly paradise, in the nether regions of the underworld, on the planet Earth and throughout the galaxies, the One Lord is pervading everywhere (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 207). There are billions of regions and planets. There are billions of moons, suns and stars (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 275). Many millions are the fields of creation and galaxies. Many millions are the skies and solar systems. Many millions are divine incarnations. He has unfolded Himself in so many ways. He has expanded His expansion of creation many times. Forever and ever, He is the One, the One Universal Creator. Many millions are created in various forms. From God they emanate, and into God they merge once again. His limits are not known to anyone. O Nanak, God exists by Himself. (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 276). He created the Sun and the Moon; night and day, they move according to His Will (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 580). Only call the One permanent (immortal), who does not have destiny inscribed upon His Forehead. The Sky and the Earth will pass away; He alone is permanent. The day and the Sun will pass away; the night and the Moon will pass away; the hundreds of thousands of stars will disappear. He alone is permanent; Nanak speaks the truth (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 64). There are planets, solar systems and galaxies. If one speaks of them, there is no limit, no end. There are worlds upon worlds of His creation. As He commands, so they exist. He watches over all, and contemplating the creation, He rejoices. Nanak says, it is really hard to describe (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 8). You Yourself created the Earth and the two lamps: the Sun and the Moon (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, 83). Sat Sree Akal.

  44. sure type in sri granth..in google..and explore the rest. I have downloaded Gurbani nirvaan, which is an app. It is awesome as the search is so easy that you just have to type the first letters of the words of shabads and the whole shabad comes up. It has transliteration too.
