  1. This just brings a pangti to my mind SGGS Ang Ka▫un ko kalank rahi▫o rām nām leṯ hī. Whose blemishes remain, when one chants the Lord's Name? Paṯiṯ paviṯ bẖa▫e rām kahaṯ hī. ||1|| rahā▫o. Sinners become pure, chanting the Lord's Name. ||1||Pause|| Further on another pangti Bẖanaṯ nāmḏe▫o sukariṯ sumaṯ bẖa▫e. Prays Naam Dayv, I have become a man of good deeds and good thoughts. ||2||2|| Chanting the Lord's Name, under Guru's Instructions, who has not gone to heaven? ||2||2|| It should be noted too that it is God who gives this ability to a man to understand the creator. He is the one who leads people astray too. It is all his khel so whether you get a kalank or not... the important thing is you learn from it and do not do it again. If it was in our hands who would want to get a kalank in the first place. Bhai Joga ji was saved by Guruji who stood guard for the whole night to stop him from getting to a prostitute on his wedding night. Bhai Joga did not technically do anything .... but still the kalank remains in his story ... he let his mind lead him astray. Other peoples kalank can teach us something about our own kalank. However if you are going to get one ... it just happens. That is why we pray to Guruji to hide our kalanks. He also hides our kalanks in the first place, when he wants to keep us from some sort of hurt. Some get exposed but yes Satgur does keep the laaj of his sevaks too.

  2. that's the advantadge of living through the national front era then twenty two years of racist , white privilege attitude from the in-laws and random apnay . I refuse to give my power away ... many sikhs need to realise how much power they reserve for good positive things by not giving idiots mental space for free.

  7. Are we confusing the words Amritdhari with Brahamgiani. These are two different states. An Amritdhari still remains a normal person who can annoy you with certain acts. A brahamgiani on the other hand ... only Sukhmani sahib can narrate the qualities of a Brahamgiani. He has s got the highest character and these types of mahapurakh are very hard to come by. The rest are just trying to get there. Out of a million, only one such person is chosen by the almighty.

  8. Yes, agreed. While agreeing, I would state that I would not for a moment sacrifice any element of Rehat for myself or for religious officials. But that's not the same standard for politicians. You virtually have to be lax (dhilla) to be a politician. Also, do note that Guru Gobind Singh ji supported Bahadur Shah for the emperorship of India. Bahudar Shah was hardly within the ambit of maryada. Incisive comments. Sad but true. You are right that Trudeau was probably elected because he looks more handsome than Stephen Harper. The one place where I would agree with Jagsaw is not to attack Jagmeet Singh, but to make our sisters and daughters (and brothers) aware that cutting hair is not within the Guru's commands, and neither is marrying a non-amritdhari. As a general rule, not as a club to beat Jagmeet Singh. Finally, I think we should not glorify or unduly elevate politicians or rulers. As Sant Attar Singh ji boldly chanted during the parade for the King of England and Emperor of India: ਕੋਊ ਹਰਿ ਸਮਾਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਰਾਜਾ ॥ There is no king equal to the Lord. All these lords of the world last for only a few days, putting on their false displays. ੯ Raag Bilaaval Bhagat Kabir If we don't glorify rulers, we won't be tempted to follow them in matters of Rehit.

  9. It must be leaving everything which carries a higher life form In it - as an egg is the food of a chick. There are some papers or maybe rehet in punjabi which mentions not eating eggs. Most of my elders did eat though. I think it is recently it got practised more and you can see why. Eggs contain harmful bacteria these days. You might fall behind in your simran by falling ill. Just my speculation.

  10. I may indeed be wrong, but in my opinion the tuks you quoted above and the ones I quoted above, together, would mean something like this: Guru Sahib is able to remove your sins, yet at the same time, if you commit serious sins (bajjer kurehat) after adopting Guru ji as your guru, a blemish will remain. So, for example, the greatest of sinners (Kauda Rakash, Sajjan Thug) can turn away from their sins and have them expunged through the Guru. But, if after you come to the Guru and commit additional such sins, the blemish will remain. I.e., you should not think that peshi is a game. Take Amrit, commit paaps, do a peshi, then repeat all over again.

  11. I've actually never read any of Bhai Gurdas Ji's Kabits. Attend Katha of the Vaaran and have read some of Pandit Hazaara Singh's steek. They are absolutely mind-blowing. Sangat, yes. Non-Sikh, yes. Bemukh, yes. Guru Sahib, not sure. Guru Sahib of course knows everything - antajami, but, I cannot imagine Guru Sahib looking upon a Sikh with judgement. It's hard to describe with words without giving an impression of duality. Guru Sahib will always know what you did, that is now part of your lekha but saying the stain remains in the sight of Guru Sahib sounds a bit Judeo-Christian to me. Do you see where I'm coming from? I would agree on the point of such a prachaarak. No they shouldn't have a right to preach but it all depends on the situation. I mean I didn't watch the videos but they were all buying booze and were quite well aware of their actions. But we should also remember that many preachers and Kirtanis are not really Sikh nor do they have any intention of living like one. It's a job, nothing more. We just assume they're Dharmic bande.

  13. I have sympathy for your approach, and I'm also not saying you're wrong. All I'm saying is (in my experience), the majority of Sikhs speak of "breaking Amrit" or ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਤੋੜਨਾ. An alternative way of phrasing things that might be acceptable to you is "breaking your Amrit vows" or "breaking your Amrit lifestyle". As far as the original poster denigrating Amrit and Amritdharis, yes, I agree that wrong acts by some Amritdharis does not mean you can just badmouth Amritdharis as a group.

  14. Exactly. I don't think Jagmeet Singh is perfect, and I have a problem with some of the things he has said and done. But if he really would say or do anything for power, like Jagsaw Singh/West London Singh suggests, he would have been a mona. For anyone to overlook how much easier it would have been for him to advance in his career if he was mona (ESPECIALLY in something like politics, which is so dependent on popularity with the masses) is ridiculous.

  18. Too much ‘Krodh’ will your destroy your soul. You should do breathing exercises and do lots of naam simran. This much nindia, hatred and jealousy is not the way of a Khalsa.

  19. Depends on the individual state of mind for some its awakening-new way of being at some level due to amrit intensity, for some its bhagti bhav, for some doing more patt and mool mantar jaap, for some getting used to do amritvela doing 5 nitneems, 2 in the evening, for some its devotional singing-kirtan, for some its going to gurdwara every day more often, and seva. And those who also rush in to take amrit after listening to pumped up parcharaik (i'll use ranjit singh dhandrianwale divans in the past for example) also feel huge interest spike in daily nitneem, sikh way of being for few months then it kind of dies out as they have taken decision in haste or due to trend. Sikh and Khalsa way of being is life long journey towards knowning your real self- jot saroop and abiding in sehaj avastha. Reminds of baba budda ji bachan- Mukh Bhagti Hirde Gyan

  20. Come on don’t be so harsh on him! He’s a solid banda who is fighting for Sikh causes. This video is all about warming to those sceptical White Canadians. PR exercise nothing more. As far as his partner goes who knows what conversations have taken place between the two. Maybe she will take her Amrit from when they are officially married. Besides there are 101 Amritdhari girls who walk around who also wax and pluck so I don’t think Jagmeet Singhs fiancé can be pulled up on this yet. Also are seriously going to hold his privileged upbringing against him. He could have just chased the money and kept off the rador by being a yes man but instead he chose to be vocal about his grievances and chose to represent his community and be their voice when nobody would speak for them.

  21. Ah dekhlo, feeling defensive are we??? Soft spot for Taksal??? And he hasn't even said anything offensive!! Yet you have the nerve to disrespect and do nindya of every single Samparda and Jatha that doesn't suit your narrow-minded cultish mindset. What was it you said? Oh yes..." They see a blue bana and a farla and the fan boys are going baba ji baba ji your are the best" How would you like it if I said: They see the name Khalsa Bhindrawale and the fan boys are going baba ji baba ji you are the best. Double standards isn't you gobshite.

  23. There are countless shows on the telly of India. That make India out as a vibrant and beatiful country full of culture, monuments and history. Yet having visited Dehli. my views are the following. Its filthy in most places it smells badly and polluted, congested and cramped. The people are rude with no manners. Its boring and dull. Everyone seems miserable and in a bad mood. I rarely see people smiling or laughter. This is probably down to the harsh and brutal enviriment they live in. Is it the same all over? is punjab any different.

  24. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Blessed with Khand DI Phaul Vaisakhi 2017 at Anandpur Sahib. Immediately started to notice a lot of changes, overall happier, calmer, more focused. I also noticed that all of a sudden Bani makes more sense, Kirtan sounds better, and learning Sikhi just feels easier. I also noticed that when you just think of Amrit (Khand DI Phaul) you can taste it in your mouth, but that went away for me after a few days. My best advice would be to maintain a solid Rehat, and just request a Hukamnama to ask the Guru for advice on what you should do. The final thing I would stress is that Khand Di Phaul isn’t the end, it’s just the beginning. Anyone can go drink sugar water, but truly giving your head is what being an Amritdhari is about. You will be challenged like you’ve never been before, and by the grace of the Guru you will realize the One.

  27. I wonder how much of the West's wilful misrepresentation of India - partly, I'm certain, as a misguided form of political correctness - has lead to naive Westerners making their way over there, only to realise the reality does not mesh with the Indian tourist board fantasies projected to people over here. Funnily enough, all pretences of India being a society that doesn't teeter on the edge of poverty and injustice is abandoned when reports of a gang rape or two make international headlines. That's when the finger wagging begins.

  28. The problem arises when the successors to Bhai Kanhaiya today choose to ignore the Sikhs on the battlefield in order to serve the non Sikhs in their preconceived notion that 'recognise all human race as one' means ignore your own to serve others.
