  1. Just repent sincerely within yourself for that unconsciouss act of yours, and next time open your eyes widely on such occasions, so that nothing alike happens again. Now, words impress Him not so much as action can do, so if you really want His forgiveness, do what he likes most, do His simran(Wahiguru), for that is what He wants, and that is what the Bani says: : ਹਿਰ ਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਕੋਿਟ ਪਾਪ ਖੋਵੈ Har kaa naam kot paap khovai. The Name of the Lord erases millions of sins. The Bani can not be more simple and clear, it says, that, not only some few sins can be washed away, but millions of them can be erased only by His simran, then why do we engage in our manmat, and do not, this what the Bani tells us again and again to do. It seems, we feel we know more than Guru Jee. How shameless, we are. Stay blessed. Sat Sree Akal.

  2. Some people are too philosophical for their own good. You should ask these people who are supposedly free from "dualism" whether they had breakfast today. If so, why? Did they go to work? If so, why? Won't Waheguru just feed them regardless? Why make those special efforts? Why feed yourself when there are 7 billion people out there? Do they think they are apart from the rest of creation, or Waheguru? Is that not dualistic? Your friends should get a clue. The main thrust of Gurbani is to get people to be thankful for what they have! ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਖਾਵਣਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥ Let us all celebrate Him, from whom we receive our nourishment. ਜਿਸਕਾ ਦੀਆ ਹਮੇਸਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਧੰਨ੍ਯਬਾਦ ਕਰੀਏ॥ (p474) Faridkot teeka: "From whom we always eat, we should thank." The person who doesn't say thank you is the worst person on Earth: ਭਾਰੇ ਭੁਈਂ ਅਕਿਰਤਘਣ ਮੰਦੀ ਹੂ ਮੰਦੇ ॥੮॥ Bhaaray Bhueen Akirataghan Mandee Hoo Manday | In fact the ungrateful person is burden on earth and he is evil of evils. ਵਾਰਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ : ਵਾਰ ੩੫ ਪਉੜੀ ੮ ਪੰ. ੬ Sounds like your "non-dualistic" friends who don't say thank you.

  3. Exactly. Let’s not forget that one of the reasons the Sikh people, WE, don’t have a sovereign land is because the British cleverly destroyed our sovereignty. They then used us as fodder, and then humiliated us on numerous events. I can understand that for numerous British Sikhs, Britain holds a dear place for them, as it has provided a new life for them, but let’s not get too idealistic and forget that Britain was indebted to us, and not the other way around. Anyways, why waste energy on these things at all. Protect the women of our community, and all else from the Islamic groomers and mind our own business. The only problem that we need to be tackling is why are our British Sikh women getting caught up in these Muslim grooming cases in the first place? Why do they even initiate sexual relationships with Muslim men? That is what we need to be tackling. I’m not British, but when I heard news of Sikh women being targeted by Muslim groomers, I never once heard the EDL speaking against it, but now when their own women are being targeted, they’ve suddenly realized what happened to us as well. Imo, the EDL sees us as fodder to be used against Muslims. They plan on using our historical differences with Muslims to fuel our youth into going against Muslims, and I frankly think that energy should rather be spent in educating our children about Sikhi and who they can maintain relations with and working on making your lives better.

They All deserve our time and prayers. Those born in that Godforsaken place have no chance to escape the gangsters and extortionists called Punab Police.

  6. Do not mind such people at all, for they themselves are a living example of being "dualistic", thus they are very much in braham. To say shukur hae tera Wahiguru as much as possible, is nothing but just a humble expression of deep gratitude, to the Highest, Akal purukh. He who has given us so much, even inhaling and exhaling pranas, which is very important for us being alive, is due to His kirpa, as well as all our intercations with the world. So what bad is there, to be thankful to him? When even our barambaar shukurana is not enough at all, for all His excellence on us, is far more infinite, than our feeble words of gratitude, but then, even that is accepted by the most graceful : Wahiguru Akal Purukh. Suppose one is blind, and gets a donation of eyes from some one, does he or she not be grateful to the donator? Maybe the donator may depart, but then too, the reciever, is grateful from the bottom of the heart, for the rest of the life. Similarly, Wahiguru has given us this priceless human form, thus giving us the chance to liberate ourselves along with His Kirpa, from the wheel of 84, for which even devtays, gods, yearn for, to become one with Him. We can go on singing and counting His large list of blessings for quite some time on us, so, is that not more than enough, to be thankful to Him. Shame on such people, who utter such nonsense.... It is wisely said :man is the most unfaithful being. NonExistant Jee, do not worry for what the foolish manmukhs say with their nonsense, just keep being faithful and grateful to Him, as you already are. God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.

  7. You plonkas have no idea what Britain first is. In the 70's, if you were the extreme minority sikh in all white area, then on a Friday it was quite often that your parents would be walking home and get paki-bashed by NFs, who would mug the brown paypacket with the weeks wages. If you were a kid, then you may have missed 2 out of 5 of your packed lunches unless your let the whiteys stick your head done the toilet. SERIOUSLY, you have NO IDEA what the generations before you had to deal with in order for you to have your freedoms.

  8. You had knowledge of what happened. If you had done nothing, your actions would have been as bad as your "friend" false accusations. If the police found out you had withheld evidence, it could have gotten you into trouble (since the evidence could have freed an innocent man). At the end of the day, do you really want to be friends with someone who planning to commit a crime? Friends will come and go like the wind. Guru Ji tells us to avoid the company of people whose actions are not good.

  10. Not from their childhood. He was a different case. As criticism of Islam by Academia and public figures increase so does apostasy and laxity among muslims. All it requires is for people to think critically, and once that begins to happen, all abrahamic religions start to die from the inside out.

The way I was thinking was that we post how many paaths we do each day and again only for jaggis chardikala and liberation from jail. (Also please do full paath not just 25 paurian). What does the sangat think of this? Bhul chuck maaf waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh

  13. If gurbani says the biggest curse is to be aghiratkhan it is clear being humble and in a permanent state of gratitude come what may is to be encouraged. Personally I am preemptively thankful for even the difficult lessons I know will come and pray for sabar to develop sumat from them ...it is a good place to be

  15. Say thank you / shukaraan to Waheguru Ji as many times as you can. Never stop saying it, does He ever stop giving us? Does He ever stop forgiving us ? Does He ever stop loving us ? So why would we not say Thanks You? Why is it duality ? He is your father, Gurbani says this time and time again so why wouldn't we thank our Father who gives us so much?

  16. Saying thank you to God is good and should be encouraged. When you say it once, God hears it. So don’t worry about saying it so many times ritualistically, as long as it’s from your heart and with sincerity, God is all knowing.

But when I did find the woman that I wanted to marry, not only did she encourage me to grow out my daari she has been ever more supportive of growing together in Sikhi. Since our Anand Karaaj we have only grown more in love with Sikhi. Trust me its hard but its worth it in the end when you find the right woman. Keep faith brother and do Ardas to Maharaaj

  25. PRACTICE, FAITH & MORE PRACTICE If you are demotivated because you are not getting good opportunities... then this story will motivate you... Once, Lord Indra got upset with Farmers, he announced there will be no rain for 12 years & you won't be able to produce crops Farmers begged for clemency from Lord Indra, who then said, Rain will be possible only if Lord Shiva plays his Damru, but he secretly requested Lord Shiva not to agree to these Farmers & when Farmers reached Lord Shiva he repeated the same thing that he will play Damru after 12 years Disappointed Farmers decided to wait till 12 years but one Farmer regularly was digging treating & putting manure in the soil & sowing the seeds even with no crop emerging Other Farmers were making fun of that Farmer. After 3 years all Farmers asked that Farmer why are you wasting your time n energy when you know that rains will not come before 12 years He replied " I know that crop won't come out but I'm doing it as a matter of "practice". After 12 years I will forget the process of growing crops n working in the field so I must keep it doing so that I'm fit to produce the crop, the moment there is rain after 12 years Hearing his argument Goddess Parvati praised his version before Lord Shiva & said You may also lose the practice of playing the Damru after 12 years The innocent Lord Shiva in his anxiety just tried to play the Damru, if he could, and hearing the sound of Damru immediately there was rain n the farmer who was regularly working in the field got his crop emerged immediately and others were disappointed. Debriefing of this story The game is won during the practice, not during the performance. If you are waiting for the good opportunity before you start practicing, then you have lost the race. "Practice is boring but that's what makes your performance interesting"

  29. Well said jkvlondon. Does not the Bani say: bin boliya sabh kich jaanda, Kis aagey keejay ardas ? So let us ask ourselves, do we really need to ask Him, or tell Him what we need, or what He ought to do, as per our wishes, our desires? He who has the power to give, surely has the power to know also what He has to do, or when He has to do.... The thing is we have limited ourselves with manmat. You see brother, before we were born, our destiny was written, then only we were born. It is like the movie we watch, is has been prerecorded. Without that prerecording, no movie can be watched. Isn´t it? In a similar way, our present lives are based on our past karmas. And the law of karmas, works under righteousness, without any manipulations, oo any corrupted powers of humans, gods and so on..... You see, He is perfect, Nature works under His perfect Hukum, so if it is so, let us ask ourselves, how can He modify His Hukum, just for our selfish limited vision and desires? Or do we think, we can bribe Him with our so called "prayers", so that He may edit the movie of our lives as per our wishes instantly? It seems that we take Him more likely the genie of Aladino´s lamp, than what He really is. He is an infinite Ocean of love, peace and bliss. So if any discomfort we have, and we want to erase it, we have to do the real bhakti. We have to attach and merge ourselves with His Shabad Form, which can be possible by Hi simran. The Bani says: Har simran me Prabh aap Nirankara. Which means, He Himself is present in His Simran. You see, all that which we have to give, receive or suffer, is already written, which can not be modified. Plus any karmas we do, are all taxable by Dharam Rai. There is only one thing which is not written in our destiny, and that wealth is not taxable. It is the real wealth, unextingushable. The more one gathers it, the more can we take it with us. The Bani says: jal nahee dubey, taskar nahee leve, bhaae na sakey saare . This means, that True wealth, water can not drown it, fire can not burn it, and the robber(kal purukh who collects his due taxes on all karmas performed by us in his jurisdiction:Trilok), can not rob it. But look at the condition of us moorakhs manmukhs: we shall do all sort of rituals, external practices, entagle ourselves with dharam, mazab, politics, lands, etc ..... but, that True action, that True bhakti, we do not pay attention and overlook at it, though our Guru sahibans, in each and every Ang, in the Bani, have only stressed on doing the right bhakti of His Naam Simran, by which we have imbibe the countless virtues of Akal Purukh, and thus slowly and slowly start feeling and knowin the changes that ocurr within ourselves. Ourwardly we may look more or less the same, but by His Grace, our mind starts getting the "rus" of Naam, and sheds all its evil tendencies, and we just adjust ourselves with His will, which makes us ask nothing but only more and more of His bhakti, so that we may have a glimpse of His blessed Darshan. This is the mahanta of sikhee. Sat Sree Akal.

  30. Right, so I've listened to the Katha, read a translation of Charitr 404 (bits were missing), and a seperate analysis. Baala is the woman born of flames who, according to the katha, is Mata Sahib Kaur in Kalyug. The analysis states: "There is another important facet to be kept in mind about Sabudh Baach - The protagonist Baala, who fought with immense courage on the advent of Satjug does not appear anywhere in this present episode for a long time. This, again, is a subtle hint that the present social order has rendered the otherwise capable woman absolutely powerless. However, she reappears in the form of Bhawani and joins Kaal Purakh again in war efforts once all the 'Turk' Demons have been destroyed." So what @Singh123456777 said would technically be partly correct i.e Mata Sahib Kaur being Chandi/Durga/Bhavani in their past life. What happens in the rest of the charitr vis-a-vis Bhavani? What's the source of the Chandi and Dusht Daman story? Lets see if we can figure out if they are in fact connected in any way. Also, charitr 404 takes place in Satyug so one could assume that Baala continues to take birth until Kalyug (current day), most likely as Devi until Mata Sahib Kaur (who by some is also considered to be a manifestation of Devi) - my question is this: what is the significance of being born out of fire, what does it represent, especially in regards to the way it is portrayed in the charitr? A fact which may or may not be related to this, is that Devi is often represented by a flame (sometimes in a diva believe it or not haha). Second question: I know many revere the physical manifestations of Devi to varying degrees, and many revere Mata Sahib Kaur without having any connection to Devi, but does it really matter - aren't they all forms of Shakti or the feminine aspect of Akaal Purkh? Please forgive any mistakes.

  31. What about the following: ਰਾਤੀ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਆਰਤੀ ਪਰਸਾਦ ਵੰਡੰਦੇ। This would indicate that Aarti was physically performed rather than just sang.

  32. Passed down from who though? That's what you have not even attempted to clarify. Bhai Gurdas ji vaar has the following to say: ਸੋਦਰੁ ਆਰਤੀ ਗਾਵੀਐ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਜਾਪੁ ਉਚਾਰਾ|| This tells us aarti was done by singing at the time of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji and Sri Guru Angad Dev ji. Had aarti been done by lighting candles, Bhai Gurdas ji would have stated this in the above vaar. In this vaar Bhai Gurdas ji also writes about Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji returning from his travels, giving Guruship to Sri Guru Angad Dev, Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji sons didn't obey Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji commands, and where ever Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji went the wisdom of Gurbani was spread.

  33. It is important to Nihangs. If you ask someone to describe them off the top of their head they're undoubtedly either gonna mention Jhatka, Shastar, Dumalla, or the way they do Aarti. In regards to being anti-Arya Samaj, don't they shun ritual to quite some extent themselves? I don't think they even do Aarti in the tradtional way. I personally think it was a combination of things that led Ditt Singh to make these choices. His overall anti-Hindu sentiment was gaining popularity amongst aam janta and he used this to his advantage - in his personal vendetta against the Nihangs. Killed two birds with one stone.

  34. There is no oral tradition of aarti being done with candles before the 10 Gurus or Adi Granth. If such an oral tradition existed, one of the DamDami Taksal Jathedar's would not have spoken against it. Sant Baba Gurbachan Singh ji is one of the most learned kathavachaks in Gurbani and Sikh history related to Gurbani shabads.

He references the 404th Charitar in Dasam Granth, If anyone wishes to learn more I recommend you read it.

  36. Yeah I agree here bro, I did think that before posting it. This article isn't particularly well written for someone of Kamalroop Singh's calibre. However, I do believe his overall argument is valid. Caste is one area where Nihangs haven't faired so well in the past. Do you believe that was the actual reason why Gyani Ditt Singh stopped the Aarti though - over resentment, so he went after their most beloved rituals? I think it could have been to do with the discord he had with Arya Samaj and Hinduism in general. Kamalroop also mentions his association with Gulabdasis, and from what little I know about them, it would seem to fit into his bias against ritualism.

  37. Since it has not been written and there is no oral tradition of aarti with candles has been done. We can safely say it was not done to the ten Gurus and Adi Granth Sahib. Chaur sahib was done and we have written and oral tradition dictating this for us. Also the Gurus gave permission to do Chaur Sahib. Also there is no written or oral tradition of the Gurus giving permission to start aarti with candles. Do you agree?

  40. Chair sahib is done since the time of Parkash in the morning till Guru Granth Sahib ji goes to sachkhand. Some Gurdwaras don't because they don't have the sevadhars. The nihangs doing aarti with candles happens only during aarti. The two cannot be compared. They only can be compared if a person brings up the shabad in sohila sahib that speaks of both to say one cannot be done but the other can. Also chaur sahib has been done since Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. This is well known and so is when the first Parkash of Aad Granth Sahib ji took place. Can you provide the same information for aarti being done with candles for anyone of the 10 Gurus or Aad Granth Sahib ji?

  41. @kcmidlands Flying under the radar means looking like rest of the folks. Jaggi has no distinguishing Sikh religious mark to say he is a Sikh like an amritdharis does. If putting up a website on 1984 massacre of many Sikhs was a distinguishing mark of the Sikh religion, then why didn't the Indian government pick up jaggi as soon as he got off of the plane in India? Why didn't they catch on right away? If anything this provides more to say how a Mona can fly under the radar even after making a website showing Indian government genocide against the Sikhs. And now I will wait for someone to say I am against Jaggi and get all emotional.
