  1. VJKK VJKF Sangat Ji, as Sikhs we are not kill animals and hurt others but why do we wear shoes of leather and have tablas made of goat skin being used in Gurudwaras today? Is this okay or paakhandi? Vaheguru Ji.

  4. I think being able to delete profiles is a waste of effort and time too. why would you write something only to come back to delete it? Sometimes you want to go back to your record or someone else who wants to give you some advice would like to check your older posts. A lot of info is available which can help the advisor advise you better. Older posts help people to understand posters better too. We are after all humans interacting with humans. People do want to know whether it is a school kid, working person or an older person who is saying what they say. I strongly disagree with deleting of posts and profiles. One irritating person was deleting and posting and deleting again. I would say I found that very irritating and I stop reading or posting anything for that person.

  5. What happens to people after taking amrit is they sometimes fall out of the routine of doing path. This happens when your own routine changes for some reason. This may be starting uni, changing school, visitors which stay over for some time, outside pressures like exams; getting married, other people's expectations of you, etc. When you are younger you do not have an experience of many things. It is good to wait until you are more mentally mature and you can keep up your routine without breaking it. Sometimes when you take amrit, then you feel you have achieved a certain goal. This makes you a little more complacent. So its better to be In the disciplining section of time so that the path and bani habits become engrained deeper in you. This way you will be able to stick to your path routine better when you are older too. Trust maharaj ji and know that he has planned and given everyone a time when he will deliver them. What he wishes comes to happen and no one can raise an eyelid when the blessings come straight from Maharaj Ji. So stick to your routine and increase your sikhi knowledge too. A Sikh does not renounce the world, but performs all the worldly duties as well as performing simran most of the time or whenever they can manage to. Keep your time for school work and simran too. Concentrate on the right thing at the right time. As a Sikh lady you will have the duty to look after a family in the future, whom you will have to support too. Therefore you need your goog education to get a job too. A good sikh is supposed to do their own kirat and earn. The line you choose in the future will require your good education too even if it is something sikhi related too. Your parents have been through all these things and cannot explain them to you. You need to experience them to understand better. So keep respecting and obeying them too.

  6. At the moment Sikhism is in its golden period. The next 50 years are crucial for its survival and prosperity. It is a make or break time for the faith. If we continue the way we are going Sikhi as we know it will become a insignificant religion on the world stage confined only to Punjabi people and not like a ethically and racially diverse religion like other faiths. Our time is running out. We must act now for the benefit of the next generations who are counting on us for their future. But we are on borrowed time. Unless drastic steps are taken to take the faith further and expand all around the world. If this is not done within the next 50 years it is game over. There will not be an opportunity like this again. Many if not all will eventually become athiest or convert to other religions. This is actually happening now but will get increasingly worse. The next 50 years is either success or failure as far as numbers go. After 50 years are up. There is no way of turning back the tide. That is why I stress the importance in a crucial period and juncture for the faith. We need huge scale missionary activity throughout the world from tibet to mongolia. Dont expect people to one day wake up and look at a basics of sikhi video on youtube then convert on their own will. Yes we can implement digital technology to reach to the masses but that is only one method. We need boots on the ground. Missionary centres on every corner of the earth to spread Guru Nanaks message. We must lobby our so called leaders to fund these projects. Money and resources need to be poured in for the effort to begin. Dedication and commitment is needed from us all. Sacrafices will need to be made. It will not be easy but we can achieve the goal with the right methods and knowledge. Dont think I am just typing this as a passing thought. I am in the process of setting up one of only in the UK of a Sikh missionary centre. If people are intrested in helping and are from the the east London area. Please contact me on ways you can help and contribute to the project. Any thoughts on this crucial period in time that we must act on? WJKK WJKF

  8. Is there a way you can consider a marker for ticking and recoding which banis you have managed during the day, week etc. A buddy system where you can be matched with someone who has similar goals. eg I want to try sukhmani sahib path everyday... so if my buddy does it- and sends me a msg, I will be more motivated to try it.

  10. Idealy I think he might not be dating because it does not have much meaning for an amritdhari. An amritdhari takes amrit in order to become closer to Guru ji and the all divine Waheguru. Technically if he falls back in his old ways he might not be regarded as amritdhari. People are allowed to change. Depending on the way he carries himself he might encourage both boys and girls to become amritdhari or he might turn the other way. Only time can tell. Sometimes we do underestimate people. He might be a better Sikh than all the rest of us. Talking to the opposite gender does not necessarily mean that something evil is going on, as assumed. It takes strong willed and full of character person to make the decision he has taken. I mean it both before and after amrit. He could be simply be an outgoing person whose company people do enjoy. One of my nephews is similar to him.

  11. VJKK VJKF Sangat Ji, I was reading Se Kineya and many times Baba Ji (in response to someone coming to them and asking for something they needed help with) would say something along the lines of "Go into the presence of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and do ardaas with full faith and then make karah parshaad and offer it to Guru Ji and the sangat and your wish will be fulfilled". Why is the parshad being made so instrumental in granting a desire? I'm also reading the Damdami Taksaal Rehat and they too make Karah Parshad when someone comes to admit their cardinal sin. Why is this and what is the significance of Karah Parshad? Vaheguru Ji.

  20. VJKK VJKF Sangat Ji, I have a question. In the Ardaas it is mentioned that if you "simar" (meaning to remember or like simran itself; to repeat over and over) Teg Bahudar then you will get Nau Nidh. Or if you bring your mind to Har Krishan (for me again, it means to do simran on them) then all your pain will vanish. Is this true or is there another meaning to this that I'm missing? Vaheguru Ji.

If guys are no good teach girls how to administer Sikhsangat forum. As for health, free Video conferencing with Indian doctors should be organised.

  24. Queer situation to be in. My thoughts are that perhaps there are some dark forces around. These get disturbed when bani is performed. Keep doing it and it is so great your mum wants to listen. The fruit of bani gets doubled that way. Don't worry its just your family getting used to your new routine. When even one person turns to prayer, then it affects others too. However you know clearly in your mind what the right thing to do is. Guru Nanak Dev jis father was the same. He worried unnecessarily about what Guru Ji would be doing. He got Guru Ji married and got him a job as well. However Guruji was never rude to his parents. He respected them and in return God protected him and lots of miracles happened. Do keep up with the right path. Going to see the GP or counsellor might actually benefit you. I don't even think your mum means it If she suggests it next time, just say yes. You need to become carefree and not think too much into these things that your family are saying. Keep up the path and one day they will follow your footsteps too. Take along your mum to the guradwara too if she agrees. I have heard sometimes it may be the parent going through a lot of pressure, maybe at work. Maybe some events have disturbed her. Maybe she is genuinely not feeling mentally balanced. Hearing gurbani might help her.

  26. You really don't know how debates work. So let me break it down for you. You make a statement, I ask for evidence, you provide none except saying "its written in SSGSJ" then I say I can use scripture to make any point I want, you don't provide rebuttal for that, except latch onto your usual stuff, I even made it easy for you by asking you to provide Puratan sources as they were written by Gursikhs on Sikh life. Yet you refuse to do so. So let me make this 100% simple so even someone like you can understand. You made the statement and assertion, So burden of proof is on you. Until you provide it, maybe shut up and sit down?

  27. No, Baba doesn't (necessarily) imply a mahapurkh. It's just a word that means literally father in Persian, but in Punjabi it's used for elders generally (such as your grandfather). I just don't want people out there to think that everyone that wears white is a saint. Some are, some aren't. Some are just normal Sikhs. A small minority are predators. Stay safe.

  33. Sometimes it may be you misplacing it, however sometimes we are sure we did not loose our items. Are you having enough sleep as well, since you say you started nitnem recently. Just a question coz sometimes when I dont sleep well, my memory does suffer a bit and I forget things. Something that can help this memory problem are simple memory games which can help boost our mind power. Are you sure there is no one around who is trying to get a few papers misplaced. Odd things do happen. I could not find many things and then discovered my son enjoys going through my stuff and puts them elsewhere. Sometimes we try to do a little too much without giving ourselves some thinking time. Is your routine rushed or relaxed? Do try to include sukhmani sahib in your routine - a few astpadhees every day for a few days or a month and see if things improve. There are katha about sukhmani sahib providing extra protection and possible relaxing the mind too.

  34. Do include sukhmani sahib in your daily nitnem, even if you do not finish the whole path in one sitting. Continue from where you stopped. I remember reading a katha on the importance of sukhmani sahib in mental health and getting rid of such small problems.

  35. VJKK VJKF Your last line means nothing - you do have pyaar for Maharaj. You're not doing bani and simran because you hate Maharaj? You're doing it because you love him and that he wrote his pavitaar bani for his Singhs and singhnis to read everyday and contemplate him. You have the most beautiful gift one can recieve - Amrit. You have nothing to worry about. Believe me I am going through a similar thing to you in a dissimilar way. Personally, I've learn this is all just a MASSIVE test. Everyday of your life is a test. He makes you sad, depressed, suicidal, happy, elated, blissful, monotone, scared, fearless all day everyday. Why? Because he wants to know if his sikh is a true sikh. If his sikh stands in the middle of the storm when no-one else is and doesnt see any of these problems as a problem but a blessing. Blessing in the way that this is your chance to prove to him that no matter what he throws at you to will take it with both hands no matter what the consequences are to you and you will move towards him with everything you've got left. He wants to see if you really do love him and can keep getting closer and closer to him when he seems to you hat he's moving further and further away. It's from these tests he knows the type of sikh we are and you have the biggest blessing to show him you are the true, strong, loving sikh towards him that he wants. He wants you to learn and make a change in your life to get stronger but the main thing is - we do even more paath and simran. This could be Maharaj telling you indirectly "Sikh, this is the next stage of your sikhi no so increase your nitnem." Or "Sikh, it's time to see whether this Amrit has made you my true form in the Khalsa and if not then let this be the beginning of the process there". He won't chuck anything at you that he doesn't think you can cope with or learn from and you will move on from this. Do ardaas but you MUST keep your rehat strong and do more bani/simran. Even if it's more ardaas and An extra Japji Sahib or Chaupai Sahib. Anything just take a step towards him and he'll take a million towards you. If you need anything please message me or just post here again. I'm sorry for this reply I don't think I could really get my point across well but you may have got some help from the work Maharaj has created here. Maharaj kirpa. Hope this helps ji. Vaheguru Ji.

  36. A person who practices what he preaches has more power in his bachans. If he tells people to do something like naam jap, theres a better chance they will follow him if he practices what he's preaching in the first place.

  37. Sikhi can only be 'truly' propagated by someone who is solid in their faith. The words of a sacha Gursikh can transform and touch the lives of hundreds and thousands, just like we had with the DDT Mukhis, Bhai Randhir Singh and Sant Attar Singh. Getting JusReign involved will not reap the same benefits by any measure. He has sold his soul to Maya and YT hits and only recently created a disgusting video where they indirectly depicted Guru Sahib in a negative light.

  38. These experiences can also happen as an after effect of having engaged in samadhi. People who are able to experience these while awake are lucky of course. They do not necessarily happen during meditation. However most happen at amrit vela. You can get feedback from God at any time even when you are not actively praying.

  39. The only way spiritual experiences make sense is if we imagine ourselves without a body. This means just soul. A soul has no eyes, ears, mouth, skin or other feelings including the mind which judges all our senses. So what does your soul feel like to you? You will have to shut your eyes and dive deep into yourself with the help of bani in order to discover it. Forget your mind- do not listen to your mind. Just try to feel. It will be an odd feeling at first because we judge everything using our bodily organs especially the mind.

  40. VJKK VJKF It might seem hard but you'll be surprised how many love married couples have problems. Maharaj put you with this person for a reason - he doesn't make mistakes. It maybe that he's making you pay for past karma or it maybe that this person is helping you in ways you don't understand yet - e.g controlling some of your panj Chor through love. Stay strong and increase your nitnem and things will get better on your inside. Hopefully this helps Ji. Vaheguru Ji.
