  1. The Singhs who dragged Bhai Kanhaiya before Kalgidhar Patshaah sounded very similar to you. "Why give water to some muslim, an enemy, when you could be giving water to a Sikh instead? Shouldn't the Sikhs be a priority?" I shouldn't have to remind you how this turned out for them. When Dashmesh Pitaa asked Bhai Sahib why he had done this, Kanhaiya replied "I saw no Mughal or Sikh on the field of battle Maharaj, I saw only you". Guru Gobind Singh said that of all those present in the group Kanhaiya alone had understood the real message of Gurbani. Bhai Kanhaiya was right. The Singhs were wrong. I believe you are wrong about this too bhenji. Be careful not to become so obsessed with protecting 'sikhi' that you forget what you're supposed to be protecting in the first place. Helping somebody is never a waste of anything, it is not only one of the best things we can do for others, but one of the best things we can do for our own Sikhi.

  2. When muslims have 50+ countries over 1 .3 billion population and huge rich governments of iran, saudi, turkey, central asian republics, gulf states, etc and muslims and commanded to only give charity to muslim causes via zakat. Why are our very few Sikh charity organisations wasting our very limited financial and manpower resources helping non-sikhs in far off non-sikh lands where the people have no interest in Sikhs or sikhism and would not come to our aid if we ever get in trouble as in 1984 proved. Sikhs 30 million population, no country to our name and struggling religious minority fighting for faith and nation since 1947 due the treacherous dogs of sikh leadership who continually sold the kaum out. christian aid they have 3 billion christian population rich western countries and vatican bank chuch isnt helping rohingya, hindus have 1 billion population they never helped non-hindus charity causes ever. Rohingya will be helped by their muslim breathin eventually there is no doubt about that. Us Sikhs do not need to go off on far off adventures to far off places aimlessly if are not there to help the people embrace sikhi with parchar. Question is why is khalsa aid continuing to pursue non-sikh charity causes when there's plenty of causes within the Sikh community that needs urgent attention and help but no help is given. (ie afghan Sikhs dwindling population due to persecution and discrimination, pakistani sikhs struggling financial hardships, indian sikhs in deep poverty and struggling especially families of Shaheeds killed by govt violence). Whats the agenda? foreign adventures? collecting money? Ravi singh is doing a great job showing he is a humanitarian and at promoting the humanitarian side of Sikhi which is great however, where is his and his orgs priorities? They seem to be lost in my view.

  3. Really running from it and then complaining here isn't going to save you. What part of the World are you in? I assume Uk? If so there's a lot of help against these things. Had my own issue with it and I went at them with everything I could. They eventually gave way and did as I wanted to avoid a law suit. Im only 20 so I can't really speak for your circumstances but get people involved. Running away makes you a coward, you talk big on this forum bro. Bring that bravado into your real life.

  4. I understand where the OP is coming from. I know that people will always judge you for your weakness and misdeeds in the past. It's not a nice world where we start playing the role of God and start judging. I dont think that a single one of us can admit that we have NEVER done any paap or misdeed. However, we seem so sure to judge ourselves as not so bad or ''well my paap wasn't as bad as his/hers''- THAT"S NOT THE POINT.!! Paap is paap, sin is sin, wrong is wrong. ONCE we can admit with honesty that we have done wrong, only then can we move on to ensure it doesn't occur again. To the OP, - You should focus on the NOW and future. I can't say forget about the past, but I think we should all learn from the past. I hate mself too sometimes for my misdeeds in the past, and I wish I could turn the clock back. I have also acknowledged that GuruJI insists that we don't live in REGRET. It's no good living in regret and feeling remorseful because this can affect your future confidence and conduct. I know I said that quite easily but I'm also one of the worst victims for such remorse!! Pray for forgiveness and strength is my main ardaas. I never ask the lord for anything material or success in my worldly life anymore. I simply ask for forgiveness and strength that I may proceed and merge with the ONE Waheguru.- That is my biggest and ONLY goal in life !

  5. For free publicity, my suggestions would be: Help someone in need. Volunteer in local community hospitals. Give them ride needed. Whenever someone needs help on the road, I occasionally stop and ask if they need help. Having a good manners and do extra to help someone without the involvement of money is the free publicity that we need. Not boosting nor on ego trip but a good portion of my income goes to help Sikhs only. As I strongly believe that's where our top priorities should be - helping ours before we help others. Not blaming any organization who are doing their own work but sometime they also need a third eye - an outsiders viewpoint on what they been doing.

  6. What works for me is constantly being amused. I treat everything like a joke and just make it hard for them to get to me, The incident I mentioned above is the only incident of where I had problems. I think OP needs to quit being such a baby. BTW bro your name has a weird irony considering how OP reacted to his situation.

  7. Unfortunately this is a mentality that we have in the Panth of people who would much rather help non-Sikhs than Sikhs. Khalsa Aid has always been about publicity and there was no publicity to be gained in helping Sikhs. It would go to places like Kosovo where the western nations had donated tens of millions of pounds in aid and it basically replicated the work of larger charities. The same is the case in Haiti, Nepal etc. It's just there for publicity as there are other charities that do exactly the same work as KA. It is only in the last few years that they have been helping in Punjab but initially it was always about helping non-Sikhs at the expense of Sikhs. The project in Punjab are probably the outcome no doubt of Sikhs questioning the charity on why is was not helping Sikhs and only helping non-Sikhs. According to the charity's accounts it has over £2.4 million in the bank no doubt the vast amount donated by Sikhs. That's a hefty amount and one if used correctly could help tens of thousands of Sikhs in Punjab but KA probably thinks that would be waste and the money would be best spent on non-Sikhs. The biggest irony that you have outlined is that no non-Sikh charity has ever thought to help Sikhs anywhere in the world. But we have a Sikh charity that goes out of it's way to go to Burma to help Muslims when the Muslims have over 50 odd countries which should be helping them. All Khalsa Aid is doing is ensuring that the rich Arab countries do not need to stump up cash for their fellow Muslims in Burma because KA has the bright idea of spending the Panth's money there! Personally I would say that we need to help charities like Sikh Relief who have now not only just help Sikh prisoners and their families who have been forgotten by the Panth but also dastar camps and other parchar activities in Punjab.

  8. Agree, we do need publicity, otherwise how will we know where the seva is being done with sangat's donations? The world will know who Sikhs are what they do. We don't need publicity to look good or to give ourselves a pat on the back, but for awareness of Sikhi and as @Balkaar paji said, to spread Guru Nanak Dev ji's message across.

  9. They all originate from the same source. Gurbani is the father and the mother, the rest are all children. Like Children they make mistakes, so that's where Mum and Dad step in. Sikh should follow all three imo. But "scholar" writings should be look upon with great caution, the modern writings are nowhere near the standard of purtan sources.

  11. You guys are missing the point here, not all tasks need to benefit us. Forcing khalsa raj, pushing for publicity isn't the point of seva. It's selfless service (Helping just to help), once you attach an agenda behind it, it's not seva. That's what Ravi singh does, seva.

  12. I do sometimes wonder why we as Sikhs prefer to help non-Sikhs over their own. I wonder if we as Sikhs hold ourselves to a different standard compared to non-Sikhs. I think somewhere in our subconscious if we see a non-sikh that needs help we seem them as weaker than us and therefore we help them. But if we see a Sikh in position of needing help we expect them to be stronger and expect them to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Our expectation of them is to be more resourceful. There is an image of invincibility amongst ourselves that we should have never gotten in that position in the first place and we should be too proud to ask for help. We have somewhat an inverse relationship with ourselves in that we are soft on non-Sikhs but tough with our own Sikhs. Whereas it is the opposite with other communities. I know Dashmesh Pita said "Recognise humanity as one" which is used as the main logo for Khalsa Aid but we are humans also. However, we are distinct set of humans. We are a people, a nation just like other nations. There is that old adage "charity begins at home"

If she said " what's that funny smell" when I walked into a room I would have said " you should know, I would lay off the baked beans for a while if I were you" or " did you You see you need to learn the art of banter. Just say enough to insult but not enough that she can raise an issue and get you sacked.

  14. She's a typical loud mouthed racist person. I took alot of abuse from this vile human being who is not good enough to be called a woman and I thought I will just walk away from the job peacefully without saying anything and then she was the one who had the last dig at me as I was leaving. I feel like going back there and giving her my 2 cents. for all the abuse she has given me and alot of the other staff members. I am not the kind of person who looks for confrontation. Infact I try and avoid it. She took me by suprise as I was talking to another manager. She butted in with her comments about my stay there. The cheek of the person. I could report her for her behaviour.

  20. In my humble opinion, one should mould one´s life, one´s mind, in accordance to the unchangeable and evergreen Gyan of Truth, namely Gurbani, with the ingreident of being a good human being. Because all other things may suffer variations/alterations, through time and space, which means sometimes up or down, sometimes left or right, due to the influence of the "mind". While with the pure mindless Gurmat Gyan, we balance our lives with His Kirpa, and assure righteousnes within us and around us. Sat Sree Akal.

  21. Nice observations. Remember we are in Kalyug, negativity is at its peak, and the worst thing is, one negative fool out of ignorance is enough to ignite negative sparks, and many others follow them as brainless lambs, who otherwise seem normal people in normal circumstances. Real Chardi Kala within, can never ever be achieved by words nor intentions, which may turn out temporary, but by staying in His bhaana, through devotion to Wahiguru alone, the endless fountain supplier of true everlasting bliss and goodness or call it positivity. 26. I've had the same opinion for many years. I remember having a debate with Ravi Singh on Sikhnet over 16 years when Khalsa Aid was collecting money for the Gujarat earthquake. I asked him why he wasn't doing anything for Punjab and those Sikh farmers committing suicide (yes, the issue does go far that back) there who needed help. His view was that Khalsa Aid needed to gain a 'reputation' by helping in other causes first and then start projects for Punjab. I thought that was a BS excuse then and seeing how they have only done some minor work in Punjab while the vast majority of funds goes towards non-Sikhs shows that was just an excuse. His other argument was that they were only involved in humanitarian and disaster relief so they could not help the Sikh farmers! It's an unfortunate fact but Sikh organisations such as Khalsa Aid and United Sikhs are mainly only interested in rushing to help non-Sikhs while pushing the needy Sikhs to the side. Only organisation that I see which is involved in Sikh causes is Sikh Relief. They should be the ones that we should be giving donations to and not Khalsa Aid.

That was a historical recounting there was no hate speech so zip it with your fabrications ... since 1990s who have been attacked , whose places of worship damaged , defiled or even in the case of the Gyan Godri gurdwara totally demolished? who have been falsely imprisoned and are still being killed by police for simple naam jap protests? The facts speak for themselves and the number of times I have been told by HIndus that if I speak up about the lack of justice go live in pakistan or out right call me a terrorist ...Have shame a little before slinging mud on SIkhi or sikhs .

  31. An interesting story: Where do birds go to die? Strange question, isn't it, but the answers are even stranger, or probably there is no answer at all. The world is populated with flocks of birds, but strangely, one never sees bodies of dead birds lying around. Rarely one does see bird remains left behind by a careless cat or a pigeon killed in flight by the sharp kite string during the makar sankrat kite festival. But, lying around dead from a natural cause? Never! So do birds live forever? When no answer comes to mind, what does one do? Well for many unanswered questions one does ask Google! That’s exactly what I did. Guess what? Google had no logical answer! To find the answer to my question, I browsed bird watching sites skimmed through ornithology resources but with no luck; just vague and funny answers. Then I came across a very interesting article on ‘Dying Pattern of birds” and cited below was a controversial theory by Late Cork Bishop Cornelius Lucey that begins with the Question: “Where do birds go to die?” Bishop challenged anyone to produce evidence of a bird that had died from a natural cause. Bishop Lucey distinguished death from natural causes and death by predator, or death through car accident. Death through accidental or deliberate means resulted in mangled bodies we all have seen, but it is a fact, dead birds are so difficult to locate that scientists use birders to help track population in order to estimate number of annual avian deaths. The Bishop, who had an in-depth knowledge of the life-patterns of bees, conducted the study of birds, with the same gusto. In the case of bees, the Bishop explained that bees died, by rising, into the “upper air’, and there they literally were destroyed through a natural disintegration process. After the study of birds he concluded that as birds had an inner sensory device, which told them when to migrate and like the bees they too had an inner sensory device which told them when it was time to die, or when their life cycle was complete. On the premonition of death, they too like the bees rise up higher and higher till they disintegrate in the upper air. This unpublished theory is the closest answer to my query. This triggers the following thought: If we go by the Bishop’s hypothesis on the dying pattern of birds for which as of date there is no counter solid scientific theory, then it would not be out of place to conclude that birds are at a higher plane than humans since the birds actually KNOW when they are going to die, something that even the so-called evolved, aware and intelligent human race does not know! That when a bird knows that it has lived enough, seen enough, it can happily leave its body at will by flying high-up and just disintegrating; no age related aches, pains of suffering. Thereby lingers the thought : Is Man, the self-proclaimed most evolved living being really at the apex of evolution pyramid? Or please tell where do the birds go to die....

  33. Blessings A pregnant woman was seated under a tree, very thirsty, and she needed water, but there was no water. Suddenly she saw some drops of water dripping from the tree. She took a cup and started tapping the drops. When water got to half the cup and she was ready to drink, a bird came and knocked the cup down, so the water was spilled. It happened three times, and the woman felt very bad. She took a stone and killed the bird. After the bird had died, she saw a big snake coming down from the tree. So she discovered that what she wanted to drink was not really water but poison. She felt so guilty that she had killed the bird that saved her life. Sometimes, God is like this bird to us. He knows when we are about to take poison, but we get disappointed, when actually, He is trying to help us. Maybe, what you thought was water was poison. Drop the pain, because there's something better for you. Put your complete trust in Him, for He is the most beneficient, most merciful, & most loving Being. Just take 2 seconds of your time & say: Shukur hae Sachay Patshah, for all your countless blessings on me.

  35. "NOT AS HAPPY AS U" Sometimes in life... We feel so blue, But someone, somewhere is not as happy as U. Somewhere far... At the border When a soldier sleeps, Missing his loved ones He silently weeps. Somewhere a mother Painfully sighs... Coz Her new born baby Didn't open her eyes. Somewhere a poor dad Silently cries... When he sees his son Begging for a bowl of rice. Somewhere... In an orphanage A little girl's sad, When she misses her Mom n dad. So at times... A reason to smile U may not have any, Say to urself that U're happier than many... Coz Life is beautiful and Its not always blue... And someone, somewhere Is not as happy as U... Love the life you live ....
