  2. These sum up the Dhumma or as I like to call him - Gimli (but only in looks) from LOTR , he has helped bring DD Taksal to it's knees. and the icing on the cake

  3. I just don't get how anyone can justify him sitting beneath Badal like that. Or even keeping company with them.

  4. Followthelight, can I please give you some friendly advice ? Next time, when you feel the urge to reply to a new thread, have a really good read of the message you're replying to. Read it well - really analyse it. Spot the signs that reveal that the poster is not who she or she says they are. Spot how the poster starts by pretending to be someone from India - calls her own family 'sikh sardar' when no actual Sikh describes themselves that way (only Hindus do) - deliberately misspells simple English words in order to show that they are a "Sikh from India" but then in subsequent sentences forgets what they were pretending to do and articulates difficult English sentences in perfect English. Starts by constructing English sentences really badly but then sometimes forgets the plan and mistakingly constructs English sentences beautifully. And then, right at the end, the Hindu boy pretending to be a Sikh girl couldn't resist his natural temptation to call Hindu boys "good looking" when both you and me know that nobody (except Hindus) in the entire history of the universe has ever called a Hindu boy "good looking". All I'm saying is try and be a little more alert. Learn how to read between the lines.

  5. I would recommend you watch the anand Karaj Course with your fia nce from the Basics of SIkhi Channel on youtube because you need to know just what sikh marriage is about . You will be undertaking the task of teaching your kids SIkhi and not become an impediment to their faith development . As an atheist maybe your guy has assumed that he didn't need to explain this ... which is kind of unfair... learn from the waheguru course also the history and belief system of sikhi

  6. I ran a Sikh community center for more than 2 years after my usual work hours till late night. My passion is to help and give back something to our community. While doing that, i missed most of my personal family time with my little kids. I started realizing after few months that but then someway you also feel that sangat is your family too. I stepped aside for family time but still helping remotely. My main point is that NOT only bhai jagraj singh led a tough life in starting up basics of sikhi from scratch but he also sacrificed his personal family time which only few ppl can understand. It is not only him who did great panthic work but also his wife bibi sukhmani kaur who deserves to be praised loudly for supporting her husband and without her support there wouldn't be any legacy that bhai jagraj singh created. So, advice to sangat is to support and donate whatever you can for this young family who led a life full of sewa. They did sewa for the house of guru nanak dev ji. We need to show our support ! DONATE TODAY !

  8. * CROWDFUNDING PAGE TO SUPPORT JAGRAJ SINGH’S FAMILY * On the 20th July 2017, our dearest brother and friend, Jagraj Singh, lost his fight against cancer. In the immediate aftermath, we celebrated his life, the wonderful legacy he established and heard some amazing stories of the positive effect he had on so many lives. The family of Jagraj Singh, his friends, peers and colleagues at Everythings 13 have been humbled by the love and support of the Sangat and have found much strength in this. Through love and compassion in the Sangat, many people have also asked about setting up fundraising pages, crowdfunding pages and generally asking how they can support the family of Jagraj Singh. These requests have prompted a small group of Jagraj Singh and Sukhmani Kaur’s close friends to set up a public fundraising page to support Jagraj Singh’s family. The aim of this fundraising page is to try and help Sukhmani Kaur pay off the family's mortgage and finance the children’s long- term education. We invite everyone who was inspired by Jagraj Singh to contribute, however small or large. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jagrajsinghsfamily (Please note, this is the only fundraising effort with the approval of Sukhmani Kaur. It has been organised by friends of Jagraj Singh and Sukhmani Kaur and is not connected to Everythings13 or any other affiliated organisation)

  9. I read the following passage in another thread. Instead of going off topic on the original thread, I have created this new one. -------------------------------------------------------------- I disagree that Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma has achieved many things by siding with Parkash Badal and his Dal. What has Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma accomplished in the affairs of the SGPC, Punjab's Government, or Sikh sovereignty since he's headed Dam Dami Taksal Mehta, headed the Sant Samaj, and nurtured such a warm relationship with the Badal family and the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) at large? I see a few things that may be seen as accomplishments by Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma The 1984 memorial complex being created The removal of the Nanakshahi calendar Getting approval for Taksal's kathavachaks to do parchar from Manji Sahib A "Martyr's Gallery" at the 1984 memorial (http://indianexpress.com/article/cities/chandigarh/apex-body-accepts-damdami-taksals-demand-4708101/) On a panthic level, can any of the above be termed as any significant achievement or contribution for our nation by a person who heads one of the oldest Sikh schools, an organization of Sants/Vidhvaans, and has relations with influential political leaders? They can not; these are paltry victories in the face of immense issues of our community. The biggest issues of the Panth (including but not limited to): The decline of Sikhi in Punjab Due to things like: Proliferation of drugs, lack of parchaar and spiritual sustenance, government suppression of Sikh movements Lack of justice and healing from 1984 and following genocide Tens of thousands Sikhs killed, tortured, detained, made political prisoners, and continued mass impunity for perpetrators Corruption at the Akal Thakht, SGPC, and Sikh institutions Focussing on the SGPC, has Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma done much of anything to elicit worthwhile change in all the shortcomings, mismanagement, corruption, and overall foolishness of the SGPC? In the video below Jathedar Ranjit Singh outlines many of the ways the Badal family has usurped the Sikhs' sovereign power and misused the Panth's power and wealth for their own benefit. He also talks about many actions of the SGPC that are blatantly corrupt. The Badals more or less ordered the SGPC to hand over the rights to relaying Gurbani from Harmandir Sahib from ETC Punjabi to PTC Punjabi at no charge. While the SGPC was to receive payment from ETC for the deal, the SGPC has received no compensation from the Badal family for the over 1100 Crore Rupees that PTC Punjabi owes as of 2013! Time and time again Baldev Singh Sirsa and Jathedar Ranjit Singh expose scams executed by SGPC officials to enrich themselves at the expense of the Sikh nation's funding. Property Scam - https://www.sikh24.com/2017/05/12/baldev-singh-sirsa-exposes-property-scam-in-sgpc-during-avtar-makkars-tenure/#.WYzaf_krKHs Property Scam - http://indianexpress.com/article/india/sgpc-chief-to-probe-land-deal-during-avtar-singh-makkars-tenure4789971/ Recruitment Scam - http://indianexpress.com/article/india/india-others/recruitment-scam-in-sgpcrun-guru-granth-sahib-world-un Badal seeking favours from Gurdwara Judicial Panel - http://www.tribuneindia.com/2002/20020522/main6.htm You will notice the SGPC always constituting its own "committees" of its own men to investigate. Does anyone think that will ever lead to a credible investigation where the truth and justice is of utmost importance? Nope. When a judicial panel tells the SGPC to have a private firm do an audit, the SGPC just ignores it. Complete disregard. - http://sikhsangat.org/2009/sikh-gurdwara-judicial-panel-slaps-contempt-notice-on-sgpc/ From the 7:00 mark Jathedar Ranjit Singh goes through the misdeeds of the Badal family and the SGPC. In relation to "2. Lack of Justice and Healing from 1984 and following genocide, What has Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma done with his influence on the Badal family and SGPC in that area? Thousands of Punjab police officers involved in our genocide have roamed with impunity. Badal Dal, while promising over many elections, particularly in the 1990s to punish all the guilty has done the complete opposite. They have sheltered, protected, rewarded, and saluted those same officers, and not just the big boys like Sumedh Saini, Izhar Alam, etc.. Did Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma do anything to use his political influence on the Badals to have impartial investigations, charges, and eventual punish meted down for the guilty? Some may know that the Shiromani Akali Dal used to have a "Shiromani Akali Dal Human Right Wing"; Jaswant Singh Khalra was the General Secretary of it. Why do you think that wing has gone into oblivion? Khalra and others working in that wing investigated and uncovered the crimes of the government. The Badals don't want such crimes to see the light of day and have as such instituted policy not to support human right endeavours in the political party of the Sikhs or the SGPC. Has Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma done anything to get the SGPC or Akali Dal to mobilise their resources toward hiring investigators, former police officers, former judges, or lawyers to research, investigate, and expose to the world, and begin legal proceedings for all those crimes that were committed against the Sikhs? Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaunke was tortured and murdered by Jagraon Police. A report was conducted by the Punjab government but was never released. Badal promised to release it if it came into power. He never did. What has Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma done to get that report released? Especially since this particul victim was of such high regard from Dam Dami Taksal. In relation to "3. Corruption at the Akal Thakht, SGPC, and Sikh institutions" The Akal Thakht and SGPC has been controlled by the political overlords, whether it was Tohra or Talwandi exerting their influence, or the Badals in the modern day. The "leaders" of our nation in the form of Thakht Jathedars are chosen by the Badals to be "yes men", support the status-quo, and be wielded for political gain. The SGPC president is chosen in this exact way too. What has Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma done to change these political interferences and institute a system by with the nation chooses its leaders? What actions has he taken to ensure leadership at these levels works for the betterment of the community instead of the political betterment of the Badal family? While everyone makes much fuss over the Indian government destroying and stealing our priceless historical artifacts in 1984, the destruction that the SGPC has either directly or indirectly caused to our heritage is spectacular. Dozens if not hundreds of buildings razed or allowed to crumble. The possessions and artifacts of our Guru's and prominent Sikhs decay and turn to dust; this is living history going to waste forever to be inaccessible to our future generations. The SGPC has been aware of all this but this is not a priority for them. I'm sure Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma knows of this too. What has he done to mobilise SGPC resources towards the preservation of our history? I find it ironic that such a learned individual will do katha of and teach katha of Suraj Parkash or Panth Parkash, but that actual history he narrates he doesn't seem to be too bothered about protecting. Uncovered during the Badal's construction of the horrendous plaza outside Harmandir Sahib - https://www.sikh24.com/2013/12/02/sgpc-set-to-destroy-more-sikh-heritage/#.WYzdNvkrKHs Mansion of Mangal Singh Ramgarhia near Harmandir Sahib demolished. SGPC knew and did nothing. http://news.ukpha.org/2013/09/mansion-of-sikh-general-mangal-singh-ramgharia-razed-to-the-ground/ Relics of the Guru's decaying - http://news.ukpha.org/2013/02/priceless-possessions-left-to-decay-in-neglected-forts-among-them-relics-of-guru-gobind-singh/ Relics of Guru Arjan Dev Ji decaying going to waste - http://news.ukpha.org/2013/02/as-bilgas-treasure-decays-villagers-seek-outside-help/ Finally, while he has been President of the Sant Samaj for a great length of time, the other Vidhvaans of the organization have become disillusioned with his leadership or lack-there-of. Mahapurakhs like Baba Lakhbir Singh Ratwara Sahib, Baba Hari Singh Randhawe wale, Baba Amir Singh Jawaddi Taksal wale, Baba Seva Singh Rampur Khere wale all have left or distanced themselves from the Sant Samaj due to its wayward leadership and direction. - https://sikhsiyasat.net/2017/02/03/93-sant-samaj-leaders-part-ways-baba-harnam-singh-dhumma/ Many of the occurrences and facts I have presented above are not caused or created by Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma. However, in being the leader of Dami Dami Taksal and the Sant Samaj, and having such warm and close relations with the Badal family, the SGPC, and Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), he has achieved very little in rectifying or ameliorating any of those issues in any meaningful way. It is treachery and deception with the Panth for Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma to have aligned, supported, and collaborated with the Badal family and the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal); and to think, I haven't even mentioned Badal's and the Shiromani Akali Dal's collusion and cooperation in the June 1984 attack and subsequent smothering of the resistance movement. Have other leaders in the Panth also joined and supported the Badal family? Yes. But, no dharmic leader has been closer or supported the Badals with more zeal than Baba Harnam Singh Dumma. What triumph has he produced from that support? Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma may well have done a lot of things over his lifetime, however, the high position and influence he has been given have gone to waste. He does not seem to to have the wit, vision, strategic acumen, or transparency that Sikhs require from a person in such a position. -------------------------------------------------------------- If there are any mistakes or criticisms of the above analysis please voice them!

  11. Starting with truth, i didn't read your whole post but i got the general idea of your post. Nobody is forcing anyone to donate to certain type of folks but it is highly rude to say "Why she is asking for money". Well she didn't and it was Jagraj's friends who started the donation campaign (Please read by clicking on link). Second blunt truth is that Preachers from India coming abroad is only for better lifestyle and make money BUT NOT for prachar. I am not putting all in this category but this is the way it is for majority of them. Both gurdwara management and preachers are equally to be blamed. While Jagraj's case is different as he left his good paying income to start something where there is literally no money at all. So point is that He geniunely did sewa for panth and panth needs to support them SO THAT his wife bibi sukhmani kaur can CONTINUE to spread-head the Basics of Sikhi organization. Regarding the poor people around the world - You are talking to wrong folks. It is government's responsibility to help their own folks. If they don't then bring revolution. I don't expect all people to support but at least try NOT TO criticize something that effected hundreds of thousands of folks. We are chardikala kaum not dehandi kala one.

  12. Brother jagraj singh did exceptional seva for the panth in a short amount of time. If he had 10-15 more years to raise his children and secure his family then we could understand your pov. Show some dard my friend. We in the diaspora don't have too many leaders/parchariks of his stature. Our community desperately needs more gursikhs with his skill set. That's also why he emphasized leadership building so much. Lets show our appreciation my friend. Regular folks like me and you come and go. We leave behind some wealth and children, not much more. Just listen to the pulse of the diaspora panth andyou will see what jagraj singh accomplished. Lets all show our appreciation dear sangat

  13. you don't have to give if you don't want to. 1. whatever he had moneywise, timewise he poured into SIkhi di Parchaar, She also suffered lean times too . 2. She has nothing in terms of money as Insurance was not there to cover , plus she has only just given birth to a child not likely to be able to work to cover mortgage. 3. do you not think not supporting Guru ji's raagis , granthis, and sewadars is a sharam di gall for us all as sikhs ? 4. You assume that His folks will look after her ...these days not many look after their own blood . 5. problems of poverty and lack of help of sikhs is down to those who eat from golak rather than help those in need , catch hold of them because plenty of sikhs abroad collect and send money help via sikh organisations ...

  14. There is a lot of hoo-ha about this right now in Britain. Personally I think it is sacrilege for non-Sikhs (let alone atheists) to be married using Anand Karaj because it just makes those vows at the centre of it (which are essentially a commitment to the faith) hollow and meaningless. Many brits (especially from protestant backgrounds) might not be able to grasp this because they've already turned their church based weddings into religiously meaningless events a long time ago, and are perfectly happy with this (which is fine and their own prerogative). But this is exactly what many Sikhs want to avoid with their own institutes. That's where the Sikh community are right now in Britain. However, if you're getting married in India - them pendus probably wouldn't give a toss as long as they are paid (and you might find a few unscrupulous Gurdwara committees willing to do the same here). Do us a favour, and don't make our religious heritage into some exoticised experience for yourself - your farmer husband should have explained this to you but if he's grown up simply in a village, he's probably not been informed too much about these things (plus he might be loved up and blind to it anyway - you know how it goes).

  15. this 'she' is a He and one who is non-sikh as many have twigged . All I read is that you had been conditioned to reject your own much like the myriad sikh girls who watch bollywood/Hindian dramas - have you never noticed that any sikh character NEVER marries or has love affair with a sikh except biopics made in Punjab ? The sikh girl's always fall for a muslim (straight up insult to our people) or a Hindu and rejects the sardar to go with her heart .the sikh guy also singh is king is an example , even they had Sardar falling for a muslimah and then doing kesh di beadbhi and conversion to muslim for the girl ... This is straight up cultural assasination and people like you are falling for it You won't fall for a sardar because you know the likelihood of him being gay is miniscule , and you've been conditioned to like hairless manscaped bodiesbelonging to emasculated men/boys like the girls which seriously speaks to the paedophilic agenda in Media and Entertainment industries, similarly hetero guys are taught to like hairless, childlike girls it is seriously creepy . What else could you understand the infamous 'Brasilian' represents? you honestly don't think those bollywood and hollywood guys would be hairy as gorillas without all that waxing and lasering? Wake up and see how you are being manipulated

  16. Erm. I'm not sure how dasam Granth came into the conversation.. I didn't raise it with.. Now I'm really curious. I thought you might be a source of knowledge but you don't seem to want to share your knowledge... Earlier on this thread you were angered and said you had no time for people 'manipulating' or twisting rehit.. You said the rehit you abide by is not the SRM but of sources such as bhai nand lal etc.. However surely you see that there are differences between these texts and therefore one has to dig deeper? I also don't understand why or for what reason you ask me about my proficiency in Gurmukhi?

This troll has one job, to be a troll. This troll can't read gurmukhi. He has no knowledge on Gurbani. He is having fun at your expense by finding different ways to trap you in an argument that goes in circles. In other words he's a piece of <banned word filter activated>. Gurbani says to be Sikh of the Guru and this troll will pick at any letter to write against Gurbani because he's a troll. He has nothing else better to do as he receives tax payers income through welfare cheques; sits on his hands all day. Again he's a piece of <banned word filter activated>

  19. Dhumma calls himself the head of DamDami Taksal. He's a fraud and never will be head. Taksal Jathedar's main duty is to teach Gurbani pronunciation, meaning and increase Gurmat parchar. Dhumma has not even done one of the above duties of Taksal. Bhai Gurdev Singh ji Kuanke would have been the next Jathedar of Taksal if it would have been anyone. Bhai Sahib increased Gurmat parchar by taking villagers out of the rut they were in. Why has manmat parchar increased (missionaries) since Baba Thakur Singh ji left this earth because the fake jathedar of Taksal was to busy massaging Badal.

  22. On blondes ... A blind man enters a bar and find his way to a barstool. After ordering a drink, and sitting there for a while, the blind guy yells to the bartender, “Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?” The bar immediately becomes absolutely quiet. In a husky, deep voice, the woman next to him says, “Before you tell that joke, you should know something. The bartender is blonde, the bouncer is blonde and I’m a 6′ tall, 200 pound blonde with a black belt in karate. What’s more, the fella sitting next to me is blonde and he’s a weightlifter. The woman to your right is a blonde, and she’s a pro wrestler. Think about it seriously, mister. You still wanna tell that blonde joke?” The blind guy says, “Nah, not if I’m gonna have to explain it five times.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One more .......... One day a blonde walks into a doctors office with both of her ears burnt. The doctor askes her what had happened. She says, "well... when I was ironing my work suit, the phone rang and I mistakanly picked up the iron instead of the phone. "Well that explains one ear, but what about the other." "The ba- stard called again" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson go on a camping trip. After a good dinner and a bottle of wine, they retire for the night, and go to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend. "Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see." "I see millions and millions of stars, Holmes" replies Watson. "And what do you deduce from that?" Watson ponders for a minute. "Well, Astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three. Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful, and that we are a small and insignificant part of the universe. " But what does it tell you, Holmes?" Holmes is silent for a moment. "Watson, you i-diot he says. "Someone has stolen our tent!"

  23. This is an extremely well-researched post. I do agree with many of your points about the wrongdoings of the SGPC. Even just one of them (like obliterating archaeological relics) would be an indictment of the SGPC. It is very painful to read about them doing this. At the same time, I feel that your charge against Baba Harnam Singh is basically that he is not Guru Gobind Singh ji, and that he has not solved all the problems of the Sikh Panth, and led us into a glorious future. Now, while I am not a follower of Baba Harnam Singh, I would like to state that he is simply a human, and expecting him to solve all the problems of the Panth is a very, very high bar. As a dispirited Sikh, my expectations are much lower than yours, and as such, I'm willing to accept just a few accomplishments.

  25. REFLECTIONS ON PARENTING You will be gone soon but the children will be here And nobody can manage anybody else's life though they are with youi yet they belong not to you You may give them your love but not your thoughts for they have their own thoughts You may house their bodies but not their souls for their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow which you cannot visit even in your dreams God will take care It is none of our business to be too concerned Whatsoever we can do we do, but one should not hanker about things going the way one wants That is very egoistic You have given birth to a child, but once he is out of the womb he is free of you First he depended for his breath on you when he was in the womb Then he will take his own breath You don't say 'What are you doing? Are you trying to be free of me? Trying to be independent?' You feel happy, that your child is breathing First he will take milk from you then one day he will start eating on his own First he will go on clinging to your apron and then one day he will leave it You will be happy because the child is growing becoming mature Then finally one day he falls in love with a woman He has found his woman, so he will go on his own way Bless them, and whatsoever happens they have to find their own life and their own meaning to life. Now you are free. Just try to find your meaning your life, your goals, and devote the few days that are left to the search of the ultimate. Don't be concerned with ordinary things I have never seen a single parent who is happy about their children. Nobody is ever happy. Even the father of Buddha was not happy. He was very very annoyed because his son turned out to be a beggar. He became a sannyasin and the father was hoping he would become an emperor He crushed all his father's hopes One thing is certain -- that the child is not here to fulfill your expectations The child is here with his own destiny, and he will unfold his own destiny. You are trying somehow to direct his destiny and that is going to be frustrated. So if the child becomes a thief, or a or a murderer, of course the parents feel bad, and it looks logical. But even if he becomes a Jesus or a Buddha, then too, they feel frustrated because they have their own ideas, and the children try to do their own thing Accept it and bless them. They have to find their own ways Who are we to interfere? And how can we? Pray for them but leave them on their own. You just try to grow yourself.

  26. Yes. Agree to disagree. But come on. Almost anybody is better than dhumma.

  27. I agree to some most of your response ji. However it is not us sangat that have made taksal lose respect. In this context i am referring to curremt taksal (clarifying. Before some call me anti bhindranwale) Dhummas is doing the sarkaars job. He willingly did ardas for badal he willingly fed ladoos it is a joke. This is the issue though. So many little self claimed taksalis branches dont speak up because they dont want to 'disrespect taksal'. We need to speak up as it is not the same sant jis taksal. We have ALREADY lost the real taksal. Agreed. Need to sambaal taksal but it is too late. Corruption has gone too far. If all sangat agreed to remove dhumma from jathedar post and deal with his actions. Then yes we have hope. Sangat who attend diwans are shardhaloo of dhan guru granth sahib ji. Only mehta fans are shardhaloos of dhummas belly. Dhadrianwale have strengthened my sharda towards maharaj only. Not towards themself. Yes it is good to do parchar. However the question that sangat have is what is the greater good in killing bhupinder singh. Yes i know you disapprove the killing but how can we look past that and turn to taksal for parchar after such animalistic actions. Some things cannot be forgiven. Yes all dhummas accomplishmemts gave him respect back in the day incl yadgar etc but a lot has happened since then.

  28. There was nothing wrong in that. Two people gave two different khandas and dhadrianwale did not want to dishearten them by not wearink a khanda. They are above one another therefore seem lile a kalgi. It was not rees of maharaj. Secondly nothing is wrong in matha tek. Some gursikhs bow down to each other. Forget bowing down, Maharaj says 'meri khaloho moajre gursikh handande'. Make my skin into the shoes of those gursikhs!! It is about respect. Yes the sharda we have should be 'he is a gursikh' not 'he is god'. Some kids matha tek to parents. They do not see the mum and dad as god but it is a form of respect. Do we not take asheervaad from our mums? It is not wrong. However Dhumma did this is maharajs hajoori which IS wrong. That is rees of kalgidhar sache patshah. Thirdly, many many years ago dhadrianwale have stopped people trying to matha tek them because some of us have little brains and cannot gather big concepts. Haha sangat ji give your money to akalifauj he will take care of all matters. Babaji had a red light???? So you believe babbu mann songs just because be sang a line abt a red light. Hahah We all know dhummas the gov dog. Babaji are a mahan gurmat parcharak. They dont ask for money babaji do not live lavish life and are very humble. You so jealous.

  30. That's a tad hypocricital. You want to do Personal research but you haven't bothered learning the actual Gurmukhi script? you claim to want to learn but cant be arsed learning from actual experts in the field. Guru Sahib demands Sikhs to follow his teachings to a dot, not go around changing the meanings and manipulating the rehit (not aimed at you).

  31. Your own analysis is wrong then. Nearly all Brahmgyanis, prachariks and linguistics have all translated it to be "by the Grace of the Guru" Gurbani itself has defined the word. So either you're right or Gurbani is wrong. Gurbani is extremely straightforward in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the language in it is beautiful but simple. Just read it in Gurmukhi.

  33. I've read this too, but can't seem to find the thread. Although, I like this: Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj once explained that there are nine types of bhakti such as hearing the glories of the divine, singing His glories (Kirtan), sewa (service), Nam Simran and so on, but every type of bhakti blossoms to perfection only if done and performed with total love. http://www.babanandsinghsahib.org/maryada/premabhagti.htm

  35. On days you cannot read paat, why not get some headphones and listen to paat instead? That will not disturb your roommate. I have different playlists setup for myself on Youtube and Music players depending on which shift I am going to at work, or for other circumstances. If you have time, this will give you an opportunity to listen nitnem in proper raag, Baru Sahib Anahad Bani Jatha currently have some nitnem banis sung in raag tanti saaj gurmat sangeet on Youtube.

  37. This coward sunny didn't write a obituary about his brother. It was about show boating about jagraj's mistakes. He couldn't resist trying to collect a bigger fan base by trying to hurt the reputation of his dead brother. Sunny has no shame.

  38. many think Sikh means student as in learner but really means student as in disciple. Two very different connotations. And the meaning we give behind this will impact our Sikhi. When I thought of myself as a learner I was easier on myself in a sense. When I see myself as a disciple I see myself as always trying to leave my ways (manmat) and abide by GuruJis ways (gurmat). Idk. When I only thought of myself as a learner it was more like walking in a field of daisies, appreciating but not fully committing ? Thoughts

  40. Someone made my day by posting this today... New York is 3 hours ahead of California, but it does not make California slow. Someone graduated at the age of 22, but waited 5 years before securing a good job! Someone became a CEO at 25, and died at 50. While another became a CEO at 50, and lived to 90 years. Someone is still single, while someone else got married. Obama retires at 55, but Trump starts at 70. Absolutely everyone in this world works based on their Time Zone. People around you might seem to go ahead of you, some might seem to be behind you. But everyone is running their own RACE, in their own TIME. Don’t envy them or mock them. They are in their TIME ZONE, and you are in yours! Life is about waiting for the right moment to act. So, RELAX. You’re not LATE. You’re not EARLY. You are very much ON TIME, and in your TIME ZONE Destiny set up for you. In conclusion don't rush to get, and don't be sad . Make today your day!!

  41. How Long Do You Worry About Your Children? Is there an imaginary cutoff period when offspring become accountable for their own actions? Is there some wonderful moment when parents can become detached spectators in the lives of their children and shrug, 'It's Their life,' and feel nothing? When I was in my twenties, I stood in a hospital corridor waiting for doctors to put a few stitches in my son's head and I asked, 'When do you stop worrying?' The nurse said, 'When they get out of the accident stage..' My Parents just smiled faintly and said nothing. When I was in my thirties, I sat on a little chair in a classroom and heard how one of my children talked incessantly, disrupted the class, and was headed for a career making license plates. As if to read my mind, a teacher said, 'Don't worry, they all go through this stage and then you can sit back, relax and enjoy them.' My Parents just smiled faintly and said nothing. When I was in my forties, I spent a lifetime waiting for the phone to ring, the cars to come home, the front door to open. A friend said, 'They're trying to find themselves. Don't worry! In a few years, they'll be adults. They'll be off on their own, they'll be out of your hair' My Parents just smiled faintly and said nothing. By the time I was 50, I was sick & tired of being vulnerable. I was still worrying over my children, but there was a new wrinkle.. Even though they were on their own I continued to anguish over their failures, be tormented by their frustrations and absorbed in their disappointments.. And there was nothing I could do about it. My Parents just smiled faintly and said nothing. My friends said that when my kids got married I could stop worrying and lead my own life. I wanted to believe that, but I was haunted by my parent's warm smiles and their occasional, 'You look pale. Are you all right' ? 'Call me the minute you get home'. Or 'Are you depressed about something?' My friends said that when I became a grandparent I would get to enjoy the happy little voices yelling 'Grandma! Papa!' But now I find that I worry just as much about the little kids as the big ones. How can anyone cope with all this worry? Can it be that parents are sentenced to a lifetime of worry? Is concern for one another handed down like a torch to blaze the trail of human frailties and the fears of the unknown? Is concern a curse or is it a virtue that elevates us to the highest form of earthly creation? Recently, one of my own children became quite irritable, saying to me, 'Where were you? I've been calling for 3 days, and no one answered. I was worried.' I smiled a warm smile. The torch has been passed.

  42. problem is such kids could justify to reluctant parents going to a free gym at Gurdwara better than reading up on sikhi , following santhiya classes etc . Just need to get them over the threshold , anyhow
