  1. I meant that towards the Sikhs he posted in that video, ones who fought a British war, not a Sikh war for Sikhi/Guru Sahibs etc. Edit: we should have a minimum age limit on this forum to avoid immature teenagers like muscleman and akalifauj.

  2. I call him brahamanvadee, not becuase he promotes hindu dharam, but because he behaves like the hindu priest class, with hatred for others who do not fit into his/their corrupted and vicious mental frame. Thus he poisons with his bul5hit the minds of the young and not so youngs also. He just goes on vommiting, blaming others not being this or that, and as only he knows sikhee. Just see his posts, how he abuses most of the posters. He acts like a goon here. He is shameless, and a stain to the name of sikhee. He names mothers and sisters of others disrespectfully. Just see how a coward and antigurmat chap he is; following is his cr@p in his very own words a couple of years back: "so long as the shabad Guru is the teacher of the body it is the real mandir.". Can you tell me, how can such a foolish statement proudly be made, which is totally against Gurmat. Can´t you the see the harm and confussion he can create in the inmature minds, with his filthy words. Since when the Shabad Guru is the teacher of the body? Which shameless baba has infused in him, such antigurmat thinking? When he himself is so full of falsehood and arrogance, what right has he got to judge others? That also with lies and malice? This is pure wickedness. He has first to learn to be human, leave behind his pride, his arrogance, his lies, then only can he become a sikh, till then he will always remain a pure bahman, means a person with antigurmat poison filled in his mind, though outwardly he may resemble a sikh/khalsa.

  3. Churchil was a twat, he caused the bengali famine which MILLIONS of people died, who cares what he says!. hhahaha the funniest post I have seen, now I realise you are taking the piss. Just because someone has taken amrit doesnt mean they are clean and pure, amrit is theFIRST stage on the path of righteousness, if you think just by taking amrit you are saved....god help you!!!!!!!!!! reading gurbani just doesnt make you pure, your actions, thoughts etc does. those banis you mentioned come from dasam granth not sri sarbloh granth. with your logic that every amritdhari is gurus beloved....does that include all the rapist amritdharis? does that include all the daru drinking amritdharis behind closed doors? does that include amritdharis who do nindiya and chugliyan? does that include amritdharis who refuse to eat from their parents because they havent taken amrit? does that include granthis who blabber through an akhand paath and not actually reading gurbani properly? does that also include amritdharis who have a shop and sell daru and tobacco? like most khatri sikhs, does that include amritdharis who dont believe in raagmala and those who dont believe in dasam bani? are they still gurus beloved ...do you see where I am going here? so full of ego, isnt one of the first things an amritdhari learns is drop your humai??? clearly you have a long way to go mate.

  5. Sarbat da bhalla - depends on the context. If you are describing welfare for all. Maybe I have got this wrong but what the heck: Khalsa Aid, SOPW, Sikh Awareness Society, Basics of Sikhi, for starters. Then there is Pink Ladoo campaign, then there is the campaign to have free education for girls in Punjab that has been passed through. Harjap Bhangra normally interviews a whole host of people that do a lot of good. There was one lady (Aulukh I think) that raises awareness for autism. Mr Singh's in Birmingham arranged a charity hike in Snowdownia. There is a lot of things our people do, you just choose not to see. Question is the OP myopic?

  6. I don't think so. It is good we are focusing on 'panthic' issues, because Sarbat Da Bhalla will automatically follow from the strength and unity of the Sikh Qaum. A powerful, cohesive Sikh Panth is the best thing for the future of the world in my opinion. Once we are in a position to carry Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Jot to all four corners of the Earth, once our religion becomes as well known as Christianity or Islam, I do believe the oppressed peoples of the world - women, the poor, lower orders/castes, victimized minority groups - will flock to it because they will see it is clearly superior to Islam/Hinduism/western neoliberalism, the ideologies which keep them in chains. Sikhi is the only major world religion which was founded on the premise of overturning tyranny and social injustice, which is why I think Sikhi speaks to the soul of the Modern Age better than crusty relics like Christianity, Islam and especially Bahmanism ever could or ever will again. Sarbat Da Bhalla will come easily once we complete the monumental task of getting our internal affairs in order.

  9. Brother, I do not think, sikh community has lost its sense of sarbat da bhalla. You see not alll are at the same spiritual level. Some are more attracted to the base of Sikhee, the Bani, while others are still spiritually growing, so they are busy with other aspects of the community, but for sure, all are trying to give their best according to their own virtues and capacity. All khalsas / sikhs, are dear to Wahiguru, for this their attitude of being noble and pure. Sat Sree Akal.

  10. Hard to do sarbat da bhalla when your own community is riddled with crazy issues like alcoholism, casteism, grooming and whatnot. Maybe people should try practicing the concept of doing bhalla of the panth, and when they learn to get that right - role out what they've learnt and practiced outwards towards sarbat. Otherwise it's like trying to teach someone to run when you're hobbling around on a walking stick yourself because your own leg is damaged and needs fixing. Don't make sense.

  12. I would go as far and say majority of amritdharis aren't Sikhs. They aren't shastardhari, and if they keep weapons they don't know how to use them, gatka is not the way. How can you e called Khalsa if you don't know how to defend yourself/home/gurdwara/family? If you live an area where you can keep guns by all means learn how to use them and train. If you live in the UK please learn self defence and use of weapons then call yourself Khalsa. Letting of a jaikara and running with a Sri sahib is not jungi. Amritdharis need to come to reality that all these naam sessions they do every month will not be useful when 100s of attackers come for your blood. Let's face it, our community are scared of anyone who isn't our own, yet will give it ten to apneh bundeh. I've this many many times, we need e to get back our martial culture, you cannot call yourself an amritdhari if you aren't Shastardhari(remember just keeping weapons and not knowing how to use them is poison to yourself and anyone around you). Muscleman who the hell are you to say who is a Sikh and who isn't you fudh

  13. Seeing lots of stories like this popping up. Western boys going to India for a girl and the girl being a <banned word filter activated> human being. Fact is, about 60% of Punjabi girls in India are disgraced. It is quite common for random hookups at colleges and having multiple boyfriends. They hide it from their parents by having multiple sims on their phone. My suggestion: Cut your losses IMMEDIATELY. Yes, you're going to have to probably pay her some spousal support but it'll sting a lot less than it will in the future. I'm guessing the house you're currently living in, is under your parents name? My guess is she plans on forcing you to move out so you have property under your name, and then when the timing is right she'll dump your <banned word filter activated>, take half of your staff, and bring over one of the boys she was sleeping with in Punjab.

  16. Don't forget that the Khalsa itself is not immune from external and internal enemies, and needs to protect itself. You can see Guru ji actually do this when they made it mandatory for Khalsas to socially boycott various subversive groups like Ram Raiya and Dhirmalis etc. to the point that people were essentially 'excommunicated' (for want of a better word) for simply fraternising with them. This is dasmesh pita's own edict. So no, the Khalsa from its very inception did not accept one and all like you are suggesting. That is fact. I'm not suggesting people become totally introverted in this respect, but our people acting like clueless lulloos who don't realise that there are communities/people who are antithetical to them (and take measures accordingly) is stupidity of the highest order.

  17. I disagree.. Ahankar can lead us to create false enemies.. Selflessness and the concept of sikhi to me goes beyond looking inwards.. Guru tegh bahadur Ji's sacrifice is a great example, he sacrificed himself for other's despite their existing a very loose confederation of what the panth was.. I think their are very few Sikhs today who see the beauty of khalsa.. True khalsa does not discriminate against any other whether from within the panth or outside.. Khalsa accepts all as one

  21. Never heard so much drivel in my life. lol! There have always been Khulasah/sehajdhari Sikhs as well Khalsa Sikhs. That's a fact. That some morons painted a totally new picture of Sikh history for pendus after we were subjugated by Brits and mass brainwashed the majority of pendus into believing it - is another story. Sadly, many (not all but a helluva lot) of today's Khalsa Sikhs often totally jettison the whole military/physical aspect of their religious obligations yet castigate sehajdharis for not becoming Khalsa. They are ironically living sehajdhari lifestyles themselves with a Khalsa exterior, which in itself is no bad thing. But right now, it might be a smart idea for all Sikhs (Amritdhari or sehajdhari) to wake up to the real possibility of an increase in tension and violence stemming from racism and/or radical preaching which are feeding off each other in the west with vicious consequences. Wake up call.

The post just made the point that an Amritdhari following nitnem rehat without following the whole martial/military philosophy/tradition that is also embedded in puratan rehat and Khalsa lifestyle is living incomplete. Essentially, they are living a sehajdhari lifestyle themselves.

  24. Some tips ..... on how to live life gracefully Many people feel unhappy, health-wise and security-wise, after 60 years of age, owing to the diminishing importance given to them and their opinions. But, it need not be so, if only we understand the basic principles of life and follow them scrupulously. Here are ten mantras to age gracefully and make life after retirement pleasant. 1. Never say ‘I am aged' : There are three ages, chronological, biological, and psychological. The first is calculated based on our date of birth; the second is determined by the health conditions; the third is how old we feel we are. While we don't have control over the first, we can take care of our health with good diet, exercise and a cheerful attitude. A positive attitude and optimistic thinking can reverse the third age. 2. Health is wealth: If you really love your kith and kin, taking care of your health should be your priority. Thus, you will not be a burden to them. Have an annual health check-up and take the prescribed medicines regularly. Do take health insurance coverage. 3. Money is important: Money is essential for meeting the basic necessities of life, keeping good health and earning family respect and security. Don't spend beyond your means even for your children. You have lived for them all through and it is time you enjoyed a harmonious life with your spouse. If your children are grateful and they take care of you, you are blessed. But, never take it for granted. 4. Relaxation and recreation: The most relaxing and recreating forces are a healthy religious attitude, good sleep, music and laughter. Have faith in God, learn to sleep well, love good music and see the funnyside of life. 5. Time is precious: It is almost like holding a horses' reins. When they are in your hands, you can control them. Imagine that every day you are born again. Yesterday is a cancelled cheque. Tomorrow is a promissory note. Today is ready cash - use it profitably. Live this moment; live it fully, now, in the present time. 6. Change is the only permanent thing: We should accept change - it is inevitable. The only way to make sense out of change is to join in the dance. Change has brought about many pleasant things. We should be happy that our children are blessed. Try to change your position from darkness(spiritual ignorance) to the enlightment, in the company of true Saints. This changes our sadness into true joy. 7. Enlightened selfishness: All of us are basically selfish. Whatever we do, we expect something in return. We should definitely be grateful to those who stood by us. But, our focus should be on the internal satisfaction and the happiness we derive by doing good for others, without expecting anything in return. Perform a random act of kindness daily. If not anything else, at least pray sincerely, to live in accordance and harmony, with the laws of Nature. 8. Forget and forgive: Don't be bothered too much about others' mistakes. We are not spiritual enough to show our other cheek when we are slapped in one. But for the sake of our own health and happiness, let us forgive and forget them. Otherwise, we will be only increasing our blood pressure. By forgiving, we gain peace for ourselves. 9. Everything has a purpose: Take life as it comes. Accept yourself as you are and also accept others for what they are. Everybody is unique and is right in his own way. 10. Overcome the fear of death: We all know that one day we have to leave this world. Still we are afraid of death. We think that our spouse and children will be unable to withstand our loss. But the truth is no one is going to die for you; they may be depressed for some time. Time heals everything and they will go on.

  25. Human values One day, I was so angry, that I left home, swearing not to return, till I became a big guy. Parents, who can't even buy me a Bike, have no rights to dream to make me an Engineer. In my fit of anger, I didn't even realise that I was wearing my father's Shoes. I even stole his wallet, which had some papers, torn as well, which my mother hadn't seen... While, I was rushing on foot towards the bus station, I realised some prickly pain in my foot. I also felt dampness inside the shoe. That is when I realised the shoe had a hole underneath. There were no buses around. Not knowing what to do, I started to look in my Dad's wallet. I found a loan receipt of Rs. 40,000, which he had taken from his office. A laptop bill (he had bought for me). To my utter shock, also found a letter from his manager to wear a neat looking shoes, henceforth to the office. I remembered my mother pestering him to buy a pair of new shoes, but he would convince her that his shoes would last another six months atleast. Also, found an old scooter to a new bike, Exchange offer letter in his wallet. I instantly remembered, that when I left home, my Dad's scooter was not there. I started feeling weak in my legs, and felt like weeping uncontrollably!. I ran back home with my foot paining, only to find my Dad nor the scooter there. I found him at the exchange offer place. Looking at my Dad, my grief engulfed me. I hugged him tightly and started crying loudly, said "Dad I don't need the Bike". That is when I realised, the pain, hardship our parents go through, and the unconditional love that they give us. Ridiculing parents when they are alive, and longing for them when they are not around, has no meaning.. Kindly tell this story to your children to help them identify and develop human values in them. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What happens when a guest comes to your house They come and go You don't become THEM You might adjust a little but you don't let them run your life Similarly... Treat sadness anger and misery as guests..don't let them become YOU Sadness is visiting.... You don't have to be SAD Misery is visiting... You don't have to be MISERABLE Anger is visiting... You don't have to become ANGRY Let these visitors visit.. It's natural... But treat them on a come and go basis Like all negative visitors.... They will stop visiting when you don't feed them too much... They will stop visiting when you don't become THEM..!

  26. What can meditation do? An old Farmer lived on a farm in the mountains with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early morning and sat for meditation. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could. One day the grandson asked, “Grandpa! I try to meditate just like you but thoughts disturb me, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I come out of meditation. What good does meditation do?” The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, “Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water.” The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, “You’ll have to move a little faster next time,” and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead. The old man said, “I don’t want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You’re just not trying hard enough,” and he went out the door to watch the boy try again. At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house. The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, “See Grandpa, it’s useless!” “So you think it is useless?” The old man said, “Look at the basket.” The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket to now clean, inside and out. “Son, that’s what happens when you meditate. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you meditate every day, thoughts starts to diminish, like dirty coal basket transformed to clean, in same way you tend to be pure, you will be changed, inside and out. That is the work of Meditation in our lives. Never give up spiritual practice. By doing spiritual practice daily all heaviness and unnecessary things tend to fall and you start feeling light. This is the indication that you are evolving. Slowly you will feel peace and calmness within you. Instead of reacting you start responding."

Sandeep and Reena Mander, who are British-born and live in Berkshire, allege that they were rejected by their local adoption agency, Adopt Berkshire, as only white children were available. Mr and Mrs Mander, who are in their 30s and have been unable to have a child of their own, say they were willing to give a home to a child of any race. The couple are legally challenging the decision, with the backing of the Equality and Human Rights Commission. 29. I wasn't referring to Bhagat Sain. I was referring to Bhai Dhinga, the barber. The concept of keeping Kesh was started from Guru Nanak Dev Ji, yet an Ordinary barbar is described as being liberated here. By your logic he wouldn't be considered a Sikh surely purely based on his profession. Bhai Dhinga was an amritdhari because he took Charan Pahul, yet he served the Guru DESPITE doing something modern day Sikhs consider a Kureit. The verse is below for you to read and decipher. ਨਾਈ ਧਿੰਙ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਿ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਤਰਾਵੈ।

  41. I'm telling you, in war, naam simran will be one of the most useful tools for us to survive. When guys will be under so much tension and pressure, as well being regular witnesses to heinous acts and violence, potentially losing close family members and friends - combating the negative psychological impact of all this is of key importance. Naam simran (amongst other things) is a very useful and practical tool to help alleviate a lot of issues in this department which can lead to conditions such as PTSD, schizophrenia, psychosis (look up the huge percentage of ex-British soldiers who end up in prison after service for example and how many American soldiers go straight pagal after service). I'd also venture a guess and say some of the substance use (like sukha nidhaan and afeem) we read about in our panth's post-annexation history might even stem from self-medication for such conditions? So I wouldn't say these things aren't useful at all, but the complete opposite. The problems lies with some crazy folk thinking that they can just do naam simran and totally ignore any endeavours to learn and practice other practical 'warrior' skills, that may be of practical use in any hypothetical turmoil we may find ourselves in the middle of in future. I tell you one thing I've learned over the years is that some people are just plain old, physically lazy. They will (subconsciously) make every mental excuse in the book to avoid exerting themselves - nothing we can do about them (and I think we have a lot of them in our community), maybe better to focus on the people who aren't natural born couch potatoes?

If so, thank Waheguru from the deepest depths of your heart. You can get to make a clean break without having your children used to manipulate you for life. You have to make an assessment and not take too long in doing so. Is this marriage really unsalvageable? If so, cut your losses and end the party, get to the gym and go find yourself a next girl as soon as possible. There are plenty more fishes in the samundar.

  44. yes I believe anyone from akj would happily go and get santhiya from taksalis , and taksalis kirtan from akj kirtaniyas , most folks are not strict on jatha allegiance in my experience. Those who are prejudiced are unable to respect their Guru pita ji and see sisters and brothers in the panth and thus fail in a vital aspect of being Khalsa. Why could we not revive the martial spirit ?, we could learn from older indian/asian arts even persian archery, sword techniques to reconstruct the missing/diluted skills. Of course it doesn't stop there need to be able to shoot etc, be strong, able to think on their feet, have herbal knowledge, survival skills the list is long. We in the west should be helping the less well off sikhs like the farmers, mazhabi and sikhligar brothers and sisters instead of filling golaks which are corrupting the committees

Muslims are doing what they're doing because the social and political culture has allowed them to. Whoever sets the tone of society and life in general needs to be the true object of people's ire. It's like being angry at the ventriloquist's dummy for something offensive uttered by the ventriloquist. It doesn't make sense.
