eating meat as a very last resort is not promotion of meat eating. It is the opposite. When was the last time Taksal Singhs ate mean? even during the 84 siege when Singhs were hungry and tired they did not resort to meat eating. Before Taksal became very famous during the 70s, it was considered normal for even Amritdharis to eat meat, now due to Taksal's parchar, it is considered taboo for an Amritdhari to eat meat. Before only Mahapursh who were into spirituality knew it was wrong because being a meat eater had a negative effect on one's spirituality.

What is really strange is, westerners are increasingly becoming Vegetarians and Vegens. On the other hand as Indians become more and more western, they are leaving their traditional vegetarian diet and becoming meat eaters because they think it is the modern and western thing to do. You sound like the kinda singh that would run a mile when a racist muslim street gang used to go looking for Sikhs to fight cos their hate for non-muslim kafirs back in the 80s and late 90s. The type of singh that would get his pag knocked off begging a mona Sikh gang member would come help you because thats what used to happen. it's not about like or dislike. Read Sikh history and you will know why and how Sikhs feel the way they do. Two Sikh Gurus have been martyred for not converting to Islam by Muslims. All of the family of Guru Gobind Singh Jee was killed by Muslims. During the 1700s Sikhs faced faced not 1 but numerous genocides at the hands of Muslims, at one point of Sikh history Islamic persecution of Sikhs had gotten so bad that there were only 2000 Sikhs left in Punjab. Even Jews, Yazidis, Copts, Kashmiri Pandits, Parsis have not faced this level of persecution. Problem is not Sikhs but Islamists who take their religion and feel they need to impose it on the rest of humanity. Personally I don't hate Muslims. I have Muslim friends. But Muslims need to follow the golden rule. Live and let live. Your religion is not more special than any other religion that it needs special treatment and needs to be imposed on everyone even against their will. Respect and tolerance is mutual not a one way street.

trust me if you go to pak punjab they love sikhs, theyl hug a sardar if they see one, im not joking... but its the ones here who obviously people base their opinions of pak on. Pak do support khalistan, i think its mainly to do with a dislike to hindus and india but they still respect sikhs. Plus the majority of them know sikhs are different they can tell whos hindu and whos sikh, or so they say. TBH we do look different to other indians and this cant be denied. So overall they do see us as a seperate people, something india doesnt recognise.
