  1. What future generations are you referring to? Future generations of mixed marriages look down on this religion, they rather convert to other religions than become Sikhs. Most do. Some of these future 'generations' kids don't even have Sikh names. Their mixed (up, confused) parents rather call them with names such as 'Tinku, Lolo, Pippa, Ninnu, Twankle and Tinnu.' They are better off blocked than not because if they are 'blocked' they will be denied the opportunity to misinterpret Sikhi or give a totally false notion as to what Sikhs believe in. No one will take them seriously when they start preaching Sikhi because people will notice the absence of it in these idiots. I am fed up of correcting people who have been brainwashed with all the wrong information about Sikhs by these ignorants.

  2. VAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA, VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH Please don't feed the trolls - these brand of trolls have a tendency to take the responses and put them up on their websites and say, "Oh look at these savages - they are an example of Sikhi". Ban the troll and throw him out from under his bridge - your comments validate his/her existence.

  4. There is a sakhi where a sant had to look into the last 100 past births of his life and he could not find a reason for his blindness. Then in the 101th birth... or some other birth before that - he had killed a frog mercilessly.... his blindness was a result of that. Past life karams affect your present life greatly... to a great extent.

  5. There is no issue here to discuss, we have clear guidance from rehitnamas, rehit mayada and the 52 Hukums of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji maharaj. The very content and significance of the laavan themselves make it obvious that only 2 Sikhs on the path can possibly make such commitments. As Sikhs we follow rehit and hukum. It's as simple as that . Are you claiming to know better than maharaj that you want to change the conditions for Anand Karaj ? So what if some atheist Punjabis are blocked. Sikhi is about quality not quantity . The required sacrifice is submission to maharaj offer your head to walk this path. We make no concessions for those who don't have the faith to walk this path.

  7. education for a woman is pure common sense , it follows on from being self-reliant as a Kaur , if the marriage ends suddenly for whatever reason she can still pay the bills , feed her kids ...also if the 'SIngh' is abusive/violent she can have a choice to remove herself and the kids to safety .

  9. It's retarded how people use these terms without even knowing what it means. Sometimes you get these types using terms like Taliban or KHaliban and now these fools are using terms like ISIS for Sikhs who stand up for Sikhi.

  11. I agree. My point was that we should be wiser as collective Sangat in tackling various issues and make small but effective inroads to implement change no matter how difficult it may be, instead of protesting. The way I see it is that many of our Guru Ghars are under control by non-Sikhs. If we (Diaspora GurSikhs) retake control, things will change apne aap, we just need to keep the bigger picture in mind. My bad, brother, it’s been a very long time since I kept up with the Bhangra scene. I was referring to the overall mindset of the Leamington community, the typical “chak de phatte” attitude there. Sikhi is pretty much dead in those ends. Kanjar khanna prevails in Leam, strongly.

  13. what you are forgetting is that is Guru Nank Dev ji , Guru Angad Dev ji, Guru Amar Das ji , Guru Ram Dasji, Guru Arjun Dev ji , up to Guru Gobind Singh ji sitting there in Darbar would you have the besharami to try telling them this stuff about numbers ? Who is to say that people will become less sikh ? Maybe for once, you could realise the sikh panth is not any different from other paths in this respect , in fact if our bibian do marry to those or hindu muslim faith they are than likely to never have sikh children as opposed to those marrying a christian (who have no strict rules on children, they too have to pick and submit) . There are many people who are of other faiths who have said what happened wasn't any different to theirs so what's the big deal . If these people have no concept of respect for Guru ji they are better off going to a registry office. an atheist will not be signifying joining sikhi, neither will a muslim or a christian or any other faith unless they are explicit and go through learning and attending gurdwara weekly for say a year ....should sort the wheat from the chaff. (most guys aren't that good at acting)

  14. I always used to think lemmington spa was a strong hold of Sikhs but apparently its a strong hold of atheist punjabi pendu's posing as Sikhs. So solution for that area is parchar. And its not just street parchar but hardcore online parchar, I know various hindu punjabis even who have become into Sikhi line of thinking than their weirdo babeh and no meat eating, devi dev worshipping families after watching videos on Sikhi on youtube. There is alot ignorant Sikhs out there because they enjoy the atheist immoral lifestyles, they may say they are true or proud Sikhs but they are very ignorant of the scriptures when you question them or show them lines from gurbani. They actually believe anti-sikh concepts are Sikh concepts because they take buzz pharses like " kings were born from women" and seem to think that is all sikhi is about. Its all positive messages about women, women can do what they want. Gays can do what they want in gurdwra, pedos can do what they want, rapists can do what they want, genocidal murderers can do what they want its all good. This is the level of religious knowledge and understanding they have. I thought too it was a bad idea to hold a protest on this particular day 9/11 especially going in all in black and masked and alledgely with knives??? ..... that was probably a lie put out there by either the gurdwara commitee or the wedding party to disgrace themselves and try to malign the protestors who were peacefullly chanting waheguru.. in the room as the video on facebook shows. As for the mainstream media coverage instead of being embarassed or worried about coverage you should be angry and defend your Sikh brothers and sisters who are protesting. And analyse why the white racist mainstream media always paints peaceful sikh protestors in a bad light but never violent women protestors, gay protestors or others in a bad light. Why they always expose their racist anti-sikh hand, and once their expose their racist faces then its our chances to get them, counter and bash them. get the racist white editors sacked... expose them on social media... call them out not be cowards. Thats why muslim community gets respect in certain cases they go for those who attack them... when that channel 4 news white woman journalist made up fake stuff about one of their masjids then the muslims online exposed her lies and it forever tarnised her credibaility. Similiar we need to find the anti-sikh racists in the media and really go for them by exposing their negativity for us.

  15. I think best solution is make it impossible for any corrupt gurdwara commitee to hold an shame mixed faith anand karaj sikh marriage to take palce within a gurdwara. we know the future is about mixing but the mixing should be between the races/ethnicities/nationalities within Sikhism not different faiths that would be a diastar for Sikhism and other faith communities like the jews and other smaller population faiths. They and us are particular vunerable to demographic trends and shifts as their population is as small as ours and their womenfolk are very lilly liberal just like ours. Abrahmic missionary faiths on the other hand like christian evalanganists and muslims and non God ideologies like atheists will grow in number because they actively want to encourage their ideology on to their partner and next generation. So Sikhs have got a choice let things continue as they do let people hold sham anti-sikh mixed faith weddings and see steap decline in Sikhs and those attending gurdwara in coming next years. Or stop the rot now and say your non-sikh partner must convert or marry a born sikh only if you want anand karaj. Getting people to emrbace Sikhi is a long term goal but as most sikhs are lazy left wing lilly liberal hippys that do not want to invite non-sikhs into Sikhi but just enjoy their own spiritual selfish setup.

  16. Their coverage has been one sided and appalling very anti-sikh conitations suggesting that the peaceful protestors were armed thugs trying to cause harm to fellow Sikhs. These white racists in the media wouldnt be allowed to get away with this against jews, feminists, gays and blacks but with Sikhs cos majority are asian and brown skined its fair game to paint them in negative light if they protest even if its peacefully for their democratic rights. Help end the mainstream racist white media discrimination for more positive and unbaised coverage. Ofcome is duty bound to investigate any complaints and British Sikh can really shame these 2 public broadcasters into the racist scumbag list. http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/complain/tv-and-radio-complaints http://www.ofcom.org.uk/about/what-is-ofcom/contact-us

  17. There is a peculiarity amongst Jatts. Even though they are lower on the ladder in the caste hierarchy, Jatts do not feel inferior to Brahmin and Khatris. Jatts, even Hindu Jatts do not follow Brahmin authority.

  18. The sense of "shame" of marrying out of the Sikh religion (for some people who consider such things as relevant) is an insurmountable barrier. I guarantee you, particularly in the diaspora, if Sikhs openly and readily marrying Hindus was a cultural norm, the scenario you posited in bold above would be incredibly common. Some of our lot would rather their offspring marry out of the faith to someone comparatively higher-up on the social ladder, than marry anyone of perceived lower status in the same religion. Why do you suppose our lot beam with joy when their son brings home a white girl? It's a sign of upwards mobility. We are truly a befuddled people, lol, and things are set to get much, much worse as time goes by.

  19. Oh, is that what "cut surd" means! I thought they were struggling to pronounce "custard" for some reason. It makes sense now.

  20. Agreed, generally the khatris. Ramgarhias and bhatray are the communities that still have the highest rate of maintaining their kesh and dastaars/turbans. As another poster noted maybe it us related to employment. All those 3 communities mentioned above are either business orientated communities, traders or skilled craftsmen. They can generate their own employment or they have indemand skill sets. This is how Ramgarhias ended up in East Africa the British realised they could utilise their skill sets in their other colonies, for construction , engineering etc. Jatts being generally unskilled and uneducated in anything other than agriculture struggled for employment in the UK, they felt that had to cut their kesh in order to fit in and get jobs. A lot of them ended up doing manual labour intensive jobs like foundry work. Or became bus drivers. But even in those communities khatri, Ramgarhia, Bhatray you have the issue of westernised Punjabi bimbos demanding clean shaven grooms. Even in India they use the term "cut surd" meaning clean shaven sardar.... contradiction at is best.

  21. Very true. Quick true story: Sikh girl hits 30, still isn't married. She practically decrepit by Punjabi standards. Admittedly, she's qualified in a prestigious field (medicine or legal, I can't recall), and the family want someone of comparable status. Girl's mother regales anyone that she encounters that she (the mother) won't settle for any Jatt munda because they just aren't educated enough these days. They spend years looking for the ideal Punjabi boy, but no luck, whilst constantly espousing the, "My daughter is too educated / She needs a similar status partner," mantra to all and sundry. A few years later, girl gets married, but remarkably it's to a Sikh guy that barely escaped secondary school with a handful of GCSE's. He's a coarse, what-you-see-is-what-you-get type. The girl's mother seems overjoyed. Oh, by the way, the guy's dad is a multi-millionaire, and his only son (and only child) is set to inherit it all eventually. Now that's sanjog.

  22. Our girls before marriage think life is like a bollywood movie. They want to marry some guy that looks like a bollywood hero. BUT when they get married reality hits, and they realise it's no longer a bollywood fantasy. I believe things are turning around now as you can see many Sikh youth are getting back into Sikhi. In future Guru Sahib will bless us with Gurmat Sojhi. But in the west at least, the generation of Sikh girls from the 80s till now has been the lost generations. That is when they all started demanding a "clean shaven jatt sikh boy" in matrimonial adds. And sadly in this case, demand increased supply. All our boys in the west began cutting their kess. And it has to be said, it was mainly Jattis who started this anti Gurmat demand. Khatri and Ramgaria girls were and still are largely ok with turbaned boys.
