  1. Very soon the pro vegetarian anti jhatka anti Sukh nidaan modern era post Anglo Sikh wars non authentic jathas will arrive on this thread to vigorously deny Sikhs ever used cannabis and poppy seeds.... They will be most angry with they're blunt kirpanas, they may even attempt to hunt you down for suggesting Sikhs ever partook in such activities...they may even try and beat you up with their spinning in the air coordinated bhangra stick dance aka gatka

  2. If you have a crush Bollywood style then do the Bollywood thing and that is throw yourself at her feet and sing a bhajjan or two. You are only a kid for heavens sakes, where are your seniors to guide you. They are suppose to know how you feel and think. Are you at school? Talk to your teacher. You are asking for help from total strangers here when it should be your parents who should be helping you. If you are only 17 you are a minor and it should be your parents and senior siblings you should be approaching for help. People are telling you to keep Kesh, start reciting the Baanis blah blah.....do you know for sure that they are practicing what they are preaching??? Will you revert to your previous self if things don't work out in your life? It is a sin to cut your Kesh, stop reciting Baanies, start eating meat after you break up with her! So, stop wasting our time here. Besides, you have been watching too much far fetched, pornostyle Bollywood <banned word filter activated>. Stop watching them. If you don't even know how to approach the girl, how do you intend to sort out your 'mess?' Seriously, people really need parenting classes. Once you take the Amrit there must not be any going back if someone breaks up with someone or the marriage breaks up. This is what gawaars do.

  3. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh Is it possible to wear kirpan openly in Canada, that is, not beneath one's clothing? If so, is this routinely practiced? In the UK, I've often worn it openly but in some circumstances had this partly covered e.g. over the clothes but partly wrapped by a cummarband along the waist. Sometimes beneath a sleeveless vest type jacket with half of it dangling at my waist. I've never experienced any problems and dealt politely with the odd racist. I've spent several years doing humanitarian work in the developing world and have never had to conceal my kirpan at any time. However I'm now moving to Canada and am apprehensive about public acceptance, particularly in small provinces where they may be just a handful or no sikhs at all. I wear only hand spun bana and no other style of clothing whatsoever. Can I walk down a high street without fear of being arrested or worse, shot by gun-toting police? Would it be prudent to have a prior meeting with the administration/police chief of the town/city that I plan to spend time in, to help them understand my rights? Thanks for your kind help.

  4. If you think wrestling and the tough physical conditioning that goes with it is useless then please watch some mma. I like escrima weapon's training, but as far as its unarmed fighting ability is concerned it only looks good in the Bourne movies series of Mat Damon otherwise it's useless. That's why you will never see escrima/kali fighters in MMA competitions against opponents who are experts in grappling arts like wrestling, judo, bjj and striking skills derived from muay thai. No skinny sensitive escrima fighters there, because they would get their arse kicked. Also another point. You mentioned Russians. Russia has produced renown fighters in the mma world. Point to note is they have not trained in systema instead they have trained in the Russian martial art known as Sambo which has a lot of grappling plus striking mixed into it. It is basically mma. Many Russian mma fighters are expert in Judo and wrestling because of its grappling component. I would ask you to reconsider your views on wrestling. For the early Sikhs it was a sacred martial art because our Gurus themselves encouraged Sikhs to learn this, so it is Gurmat.

  6. You need to be very careful about how you understand this notion Kaur Ji. Interpreting it as literally as you just did basically gives people a licence to do whatever the hell they like, claiming God's plan as their justification. "No, no Mr policeman sir, I didn't choose to make a necklace out of my neighbours' ears. It was God's plan for me, everything is in his hands". God has vested us with freewill and responsibility. We aren't simply puppets. Apnaay have a very trying habit of treating subjective personal anecdotes as though they were the unquestionable laws of the universe. For every amritdhari lady you claim has reformed her mona husband, I can show you two whose husbands have lived and died as drunks.

  7. mr Fateh has one good thing going for him and that he is able to see history as it is, not through the lens of islamic revisionist . He calls a spade a spade , he talks about how saudis positioned themselves as the true muslims , the only ones fit for leadership, and the revisions of the quran and biography to suit their agenda burning first sources as they went .

  8. Saying gatka is false is utterly stupid. I know Singhs here in Central California who do martial arts and do gatka with fari soti and could kick any of nidar nang's student's butts in a physical brawl or fight with weapons. They're all out of shape, fat or skinny and 90% of his bs is plagiarized from a south Indian kathak dance and stolen from various MMA fighting. Funny thing is MMA isn't even a war art - it's a fighting art that is in a controlled non-lethal atmosphere. They're all pretty cool headed, but if you're going to say they're hot headed and just "spin their sticks" with blunt kirpanan I have to say you're further from the truth lol. There is an extreme in gatka where people spin around too much and it becomes impractical, but the basics of gatka were used by Sikhs of old times to prepare for battle. In previous threads I've exposed how Nidar claimed to be only sole student of the old Nihang Singh (I forgot name, but could find it if anyone wants it), but it turned out he had many MANY students and he never differentiated shastar vidiya from gatka. Instead of discounting gatka, you have to look at why there is a shift for people showing it like some sort of play. Now, like in previous threads, I know you're going to say you don't support niddar nang nor did you mention him, but given what you said you're implying that his art is somehow the true art. There is no true art - what's true is who walks onto the battlefield and comes out alive. No difference between niddar nang and other kung fu "masters" who promote their art

  9. It was a common household drink for everyone be it Sikh Hindu or Muslim before Britishers came to us and said drink tea its good. You might not know even during the times of Maharaja Ranjeet singh they use to distribute free tea at Anandpur sahib during holla mahala.

  10. Why is it bad to lust after a person? Masturbation is a pleasurable experience, what is so bad about it that must be conquered spiritually?? If it hurts no one else, why is it bad?

  12. Members of Plainview Sikh center claim civil rights violated; sue Town of Oyster Bay PLAINVIEW - Sikhs in Plainview filed a federal lawsuit Thursday against the Town of Oyster Bay, saying their civil rights were violated. The Guru Gobind Singh Sikh Center filed a federal lawsuit against the town alleging that its civil rights were violated when the town board stopped construction on its temple back in February. As News 12 has reported, a $3 million expansion is planned for the Sikh Center on Old Country Road. The town issued a stop work order on the project after neighbors complained. "It's a residential neighborhood. We don't have a problem with churches and temples in the neighborhood. It's just the parking and traffic that's going to affect our homes," said Joe Raia, of Plainview. The Town of Oyster Bay says this is not a matter of religion. It says the main concerns are adequate parking and making sure all environmental reviews are followed. The Town says it is hoping to resolve the matter amicably with the Sikh Center. http://longisland.news12.com/news/plainview-sikh-center-claims-civil-rights-violated-sues-town-of-oyster-bay-1.11991344
