  1. West London Singh, You say that as far as khatri's are concerned, "Sikhism is for men only". In the same token, I can say in jatts, sikhism is for no one! The men are largely clean-shaven, the women won't marry a guy with a turban (unless she is amritdhari) - its epidemic in that community. Of course, it wasn't always like that with jatts, in the past they have contributed alot in shaheedi terms, therefore, this makes it even more ironic. I remember a Panth Time discussion show last year. to put things into context, they were discussing 'dastaar day'. A member of the ramgharia community stood up and told the panel in no uncertain terms: "excuse me gentlemen, keep this is mind: in the last 50 years, the sikh identity (dastaar) has been kept alive by only two communities in the UK - tarkhaan and bhappe. Not anyone else". The panel were lost for words, mumbled and changed the subject! Its no coincidence that the infamous "turban case" Mandla v Lee in 1982 was fought by tarkhaans in the highest court of the land. Jatts had no need to fight it through the courts - they were clean shaven and so were their sons (of course there are exceptions). I belong to neither of the commuities mentioned, so I'm not praising my own either (julaha). But credit where credit is due, bhappe do at least wear a turban.

  3. Bikky veer jeo, Let me tell you another short story. You know all the sarai's under SGPC that are run around Darbar Sahib? Most of them are occupied to about 10-40% only at any given time(percentage maybe lower). Whenever sangat from far comes and request's for a room. All the SGPC employees at the reception will tell these sangat that, "There are no rooms". When sangat beg for rooms. The are told to "get lost". So why keep the Sarai empty? They are kept empty for Akali Dal members. If these Akali members come to Darbar Sahib with their families, they are always the FIRST priority to be given at the Sarai's reception. Most of these sarai never reach 100% occupancy daily ... (loss of income to SGPC too) 100% occupancy only happens on Diwali and Vasakhi days. This is an insider info.... If the akali worker doesnt get a room he can lodge a complaint againts these sgpc workers.... Even the NRI Sarai by Uk sangat I heard has come under Akali influence. Getting back to badals eating funds of Darbar Sahib... If we look at history and karma, before Vahiguroo destroy's a dusht, he makes the dusht commit great sins. Any person who has abused maya of Guru Ki Sangat will eventually meet his fate. Let them steal from Guru Sahib, flow of maya to the house of Guru Raam Das jee will not slow down. But, their karmas will lead to their destruction.

  4. And if you think about it based on historical perspectives, we had a sovereign Khalsa Raj when we didn't meddle in the affairs of others. The Marathas, Afghans, Mughals were entangled in a web of clashes, and the Sikhs were also sucked into it. However as long as we maintained neutrality and the Singhs of those times used wise political moves, we were fine. Its only when, for whatever reason, Sikhs became part of the Indian freedom struggle that we slowly lost Punjab to India, beginning with the annexation of 1849.

  5. Do you guys remember what sort of treatment was given to Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh jee? They left a bullet inside his body so that he spends every second of his life in pain. Bhai Sahib somehow managed to pluck it off himself, can't imagine how painful that must have been. How can we expect any better treatment for Bhai Hawara jee? But lets hope these guys have learnt their lesson that everyone is first and foremost a human being and needs medical attention as a means to his/her right to life.

  6. HJ Love is the answer, but it can take blood sweat and tears to share. Otherwise it is a mere meditative sleep. Your approach to life is a great start but without any guidelines for order and decorum it would lead to world war 3 Free to be you has limits. Every day we abide by accepted norms, rules, courtesy and respect without even thinking. If you decided to be 'free' and leave your home without clothing you would get arrested and screened for a mental illness. If a male walked into a ladies washroom police would be called. If you insisted on wearing shorts to work on the hottest days of the year many employers would fire you. If you enter many places of worship with your shoes on you would be made to remove them or leave. Pav... Singh has made a choice to represent Sikhi in life and specifically on the show. He is outspoken about this. He needs to step up to the plate with humility and grace to know what that means. The most basic education would provide that this includes an unhacked natural beard. You made a choice to come on a Sikh forum and speak amongst Sikhs. In one fell swoop with a comment about hair you've insulted and dismissed Guru Gobind Singh Ji and all Sikhs. Then you proceed to speak about love and acceptance while conveniently forgetting that others did not stop at speaking but gave their heads for love and acceptance by refusing to cut their hair. Some nice snippets of thought also. Look forward to seeing more from you on the forum.

  7. -Jewish vs Muslims -Christians vs Muslims -Hindus vs Muslims -Shia vs Sunni no need for us to get involved in any of these. Sikhs should just remain neutral and seize any opportunity that presents itself for the Panth's political independence. Be like the Kurds. In Iraq, they didn't get involved in the Shia vs Sunni war. Instead they took that as an opportunity to increase their territory by 40% and also reclaim their historic capital Kirkuk(full of oil) to the annoyance of the Arabs. Once we have a country of our own, then we can get involved in other people's conflict and help them.

  8. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ke Fateh At the start of part one last week, I was pleased to see an amritdhari sister was going to be part of the programme as she would bring Sikh ethics to the debate and put the bigots straight. But even though she did not feature much last week, the small clips made it clear she was part of the 'anti-immigration' group that needed convincing by the 'immigrant' group, which came as a surprise as her elders like almost all UK Sikhs would be immigrants. In this week's part I was shocked when Bhein Ji said 1. She had moved to another area because the area where she had lived had become too diverse. If an English person said that there were too many ethnic minorities in an area what would we think? 2. She would not send her kids to the school featured as it was too diverse. Again, If an English person said that there were too many ethnic minorities in a school what would we think? What about Sikh ethos schools that even with a large amount of places reserved for non-sikhs will end up predominantly teaching Sikhs of Punjabi descent? 3. Her father had cut his kesh 'to integrate'. My father like many others had to do the same but not to integrate, he was forced as an oft-unspoken racist condition of employment taking advantage of his dire financial situation. He also felt there was little recognition for his and other Sikh soldiers' sacrifices during WW2 otherwise they would respect the kesh/dastaar Sikhs retained in the war. Mr. Mohammed was perfectly within his rights not to enter a Gurdwara or assist a Sikh organisation serve the homeless, even though it was harmless, due to his strong allegiance to his own faith and that faith alone. The other Muslim couple featured although more liberal did not attend another faith's place of worship they took the English couple to their Mosque, Mr Mohammed would have happily done the same. He seemed welcoming when our sister visited his home twice and he was happy to visit her home. How many apneh, especially first generation immigrants, socialise with goreh outside work? Just as importantly how many gorey invite us around? We can't judge a 1st gen immigrant by our 2nd/3rd gen levels of integration. His daughters spoke of returning to a peaceful Somalia one day and using their education to help rebuild the country. I found this highly commendable, who in today's age of growing selfishness would want to make such a sacrifice? It is just like Brit born Sikhs going to a Punjab they know little of and spending cash they earned in the UK, skills they acquired here to run medical camps, build homes, help the victims/widows/orphans of 84. Someone could argue that money/skill should be used for Britain's homeless. How many of us dream of one glorious day taking our UK acquired skills to an ajaad Khalistan to turn it into a utopia, to give Sikhs and non-Sikhs there the life we enjoy here? Mr Mohammed had fears of integration actually being assimilation just as our parents did. Fears of losing our faith, our customs, respect for elders and the dangers of alcohol abuse, promiscuity etc - these are natural feelings. Brits living abroad also have similar fears with regard to identity, they also tend to live in areas where there are large British expat communities. Integration is a two way process, one way only is assimilation. Western europeans have conquered and occupied three of the world's largest continents they were not native to - Australasia, North America and South America where the indigenous populations live in abject poverty on worthless land allotted to them. Vastly outnumbered by the western europeans, the native tribes have little prospects, resulting in high substance abuse and high suicide rates. The native culture, language and customs are dying out. Is that the integration that western europeans keep talking about? What would happen if those millions of western europeans had to return to western Europe - as we say, there wouldn't be space to sit. The fact is western europeans have enjoyed an ever improving standard of living at the expense of everyone else over the last 400 years and understandably they don't want things to change. Immigrants come to the UK not with armies to conquer and occupy but with hopes of a better life for their children and the will to work hard to achieve it. Right to enter is determined by the democratically elected government who, as highlighted in the programme, have reduced visa numbers, introduced stringent visa conditions and reduced entitlement to benefits for non-EU citizens. The Irish where the last immigrants before the wave of Asian and West-Indians arrived in the 50s-70s. They became accepted and some try to prove their 'Britishness' by slating us as the Brits slated them. The irony is that they still get called all sorts and are the butt of many English jokes. It seems that as Sikhs, now that we have won our rights though years of court cases and political lobbying we too are glossing over how we lost our Raj, the racism of the past and the fact that a large number of Brits still want us on the boat 'back to where we came from' - all in order to criticise the newer immigrants. As a point of interest, Bhein Ji may want to ask her neighbours in her new street what their views are on carrying a proper sized kirpan, wearing a dastaar instead of a safety helmet, arranged marriage etc with respect to integration. Such issues came up during my working life in the last ten years, like me she may be shocked by the response of many of the educated liberal english middle class, like me she may question how British she is considered by them.

  9. Because Sikhs are not Hindus. We have our unique way of life. No. Because after coming in contact with Sikhism, they renounced Hindu way of life. Every religion has its origin in time. Hinduism or Sanatan Dharma also did not originate when the creation began. Wearing the sacred thread was obligatory in 15th century Hinduism. It clearly marked one’s initiation into the Hindu fold. Hindu practices are not strictly being followed these days but 15th century social and religious life was much different. You never wore Janeau which is irrelevant. What is important to realize is the fact that Guru Sahib rejected it along with caste system and many other Hindu practices. First four Gurus were born in Hindu families and remaining six Gurus in Sikh families. First Guru founded the Sikh religion and started a new path. His three successors renounced Hinduism when they came in contact with the Sikh Gurus. Being born in a Hindu or Muslim family does not automatically make one a Hindu or Muslim respectively. Hinduism is not in one’s DNA or part of the gene structure. If one does not follow Hinduism and rejects it, he cannot be classified as a Hindu. Otherwise, Mohammad would be considered a pagan for being born in a pagan family, Jesus a Jew, Buddha a Hindu and all those Christians and Muslims who converted from Hinduism as Hindus. This argument is flawed. Yes it did start overnight but took centuries to develop and consolidate it. Those who came to Sikh Gurus and adopted Sikh way of life became Sikhs instantly. Early Sikhs before becoming Sikhs followed Hinduism, Islam, yogic practices etc. Some were Vaishnavas, Saivas, naaths, siddhas etc. This goes to show that these paths were incomplete and unsatisfactory to the people which is why they opted for Gurmat. You make it sound like “once a Hindu, always a Hindu”. If the same logic was applied to Valmick then we will have to say “once a thief always a thief”. Right? You forgot very important aspect of this mantra which is “ik”. This is what makes it distinct and unique from Hindu mantra of Aum. AUM represents Hindu trinity of Vishnu, Brahma and Shiv who play different role in creation. This is contrary to Gurmat concept of theology. “Ik Oankar” refers to One Supreme God who is Absolute, never changing and Omnipresent. He always remains One and is above the Hindu trinity. Hence, there is no comparison. If one asserts that the word Allah in Islam refers to pagan deity or the moon god merely because the word was used by the pagans for their gods, it does not mean that the same word in Islam means exactly the same thing. Similarly, words like Aum, Madho, Gobind, Murari etc. must be interpreted within the framework of Gurbani to ensure that Sikh theological and philosophical concepts are consistent and in consonance with the rest of Gurbani. There are many contradictory philosophy systems offering various interpretations of concept of dvaita and advaita in Hinduism. Which system are you referring to? Shankra’s, Ramanuja’s, Vishisht, Vallabhacharaya or anyone else? However, none of them are exactly the same as Gurmat which stands unique. This is where you are a mistaken. It is a flaw of Hinduism that it has no defined philosophy and way of life and no organized structure. On the other hand, Gurmat is organized and complete way of life. Being Hindu does not mean being a human. We are all humans but our way of life and set of beliefs we follow define who we are. Those who follow Gurbani are Sikhs, followers of Quran are Muslims, followers of Bible are Christians etc. Hinduism has no definition. Word Hindu means a thief. So no, we are not thieves in any way. ‘Na Hum Hindu Na Musalmaan’ is clear enough to convey that Sikhs are neither Hindus nor Muslims. Vedas, Puranas, Simartis, caste system, Hindus gods and goddesses, Hindu ceremonies etc. are all rejected in Gurbani. You just need to open your eyes to this fact. It is not a matter of freedom as you make it to be but an inherent flaw of Hinduism that utterly fails to provide a path of guidance to become a better person and God-oriented human. What good is a religion if it gives the choice to either believe in God or reject His existence? Hinduism is an undefined system full of self-contradictory passages riddled with empty, blind and mechanical rituals that serve no purpose to progress of one’s spiritual journey. And this is why Sikhs are not Hindus. Word Khalsa in the panth refers to Khalsa of the Guru. It is not a generic term meaning pure or a political term used for tract of land administered directly by the king. Word ‘Khalsa’ in Sikh greeting refers to Sikhs only. Word ‘Vaheguru’ specifically refers to the Supreme Reality that is defined in Gurmat theology. Thus, it is not a general term to refer to any God. Therefore, the greeting means: Khalsa Belongs to Vaheguru, Victory Belongs to Vaheguru.

  10. Its not as simple as that. The British didn't gladly create the conditions for Isreal. The British were bombed, shot and murdered for it. Jews started to arrive into British Palestine and they launched many murderous terrorist attacks attacks British officials and civilians in order to acheive their aim. In fact, the leader of the terrorist group that murdered countless British citizens at the infamous Kind David Hotel attack then went on to become Isreal's first President (David Ben Gurion). The next time an Isreali politician appears on your tv screen justifying bombing Palestinian children as they sleep in their beds as a response to 'terrorism' remember the irony.

  11. To start off with, we do Simran out loud. There comes a time when Simran is taking place in our body, without us having to actively engage in Simran... A SCENARIO. A person runs a virus scan on their computer, they wait until the scan is complete, and then use the rest of the computer facilities. Another person runs the virus scan in the background, and at the same time he/she uses the other functions of the computer. In this instance, the virus scan is doing it's job without the person being disrupted. When we engage in Simran, our Atma becomes positively charged, the 'corrupt files' in our minds are removed, and life becomes blissful. Just start doing Simran for at least one hour per day, the rest will just fall into place.... Waheguru....

  15. This is the kartoot of British yet again, post second world war they had to house Jewish refugees from all over Europe so they put this 'Jewish homeland ' on the map forget about the people already living on the land for thousands of years. I am surprised at how oppressive the israelis have become after suffering under the oppressive regimes of Europe you would think they would try to get along more and not insist on segregating Muslims into ghettos ...is that what they took away from the Nazis?

The english went to most countries in the world took what they wanted usually by force now people are coming here and they are crying why ? because england / britian is changing and they dont like it well tough the tide has changed. The sister in bana (although apparently not amritdhari cant quite understand this or why ? ) said nothing wrong in my view and i respect her for doing this programme.

I thought the singhni was alright - though she doesn't know (as we all) what being british exactly is. What is british culture? The somalis i know are hard working decent people. I was expecting the Singhni to say they would be a drain...throughout the programme she goes on about how disintegrated they are and then gives a contrary verdict.LOL Obviously putting a Sikh vs Muslim was part of the trickery that the BBC used. Perhaps this programme was designed to disuade me from voting UKIP

  24. "If a Singh abuses another Singh, A Sikh abuses another Sikh, do not respond by abusing him back. Say to him: "O Gurmukh, go ahead; abuse me again a couple of times if that's what satisfies you. If abusing or using foul language satisfies you, use it some more". If a Sikh slaps another Sikh, turn the other cheek. Say to him: "Hit me again if you wish". But do not to this to the Narkhdaris or to the police. No, only a Sikh to a Sikh. Say to him: "Hit me more." He will not have the courage to do that. If someone utters a word that hurts and we respond by saying: "Brother, say a couple of more." His head will automatically hang down in shame. But what is the habit we have gotten into? If one lights one match-stick, the other says that he will be better than the first person only if he can light the entire match-box. Here Sachay Patshah Guru Arjun Dev, is telling us that, the true spiritual wisdom, spiritual understanding, is not gained by studying or reciting books, or getting degrees from universities on religion, or dharam. But, it is a consequence of His Grace. And this Grace is showered, when He is pleased. We may ask, how is He pleased? The Bani says, by doing Nam jaapna. And this Nam Simran can not be performed by all or anyone just like that. It is also by His Grace, if He so wishes. Just as Panchvee Patshahee in this very Raag, at other place, He says: So Naam Japai, Jo Jan Thudhh Bhaavai He alone meditates on your Nam, he who is pleasing to your will. Dear sangat, let us read and understand the Bani, with love and devotion, so that we may put into action, what our Guru Sahibans have told us, forget everything else, and just love Wahiguru, for the sake of love alone, and love is best expressed by pleasing the Beloved, and pleasing beloved wahiguru, is not by words, rituals, sacrifices... but by unwavering devotion within oneself (Nam Simran) at His Lotus Feet.

  32. In the Guru Granth Sahib, a very high Bhagat´s Bani is included. If we pay attention to it carefully, it lays stress on Nam Bhakti, just as our Guru Sahibans, that is why Sree Guru Arjun Dev Patshah inclued it in the Granth Sahib. Following is just an example, of His such a pure paviter Bani: Mera tera manua, kaise ek hoi re. Main kahata hu aankhin dekhi, t ukahata kaagad ki lekhi, Mein kahata surajhavanhaari, tu rakhyo arujhaai re. Main kahata tu jaagat rahiyo, tu rahata hai soi re. Mein kahata nirmohi rahiyo, tu jata hai mohi re. Jugan – jugan samjhaavat haara, kaha na maane koi re. Tu to ranDi, phire bihanDi, sab dhan Daare khoi re. Satguru dhara niramal bahati, wame kaaya dhoi re. Kahe Kabir suno bhai sadho, tabhi waisa hoi re. How can my mind(understanding) and yours be alike? I speak out of my own experience, things I have seen with my own eyes and you speak from the written books ( you have not known them). I speak to make it simpler and you make it more complicated and confusing(because you yourself are not clear about it). I tell you to keep awake(aware in your consciousness) and you go on sleeping(again and again in your consciousness). I tell you to remain detached and you get more allured. I keep trying to explain it for eons but no one listens to me. You have become like a prostitute( who gets attached to anyone providing money) and wander like a loafer, you have lost your treasure(spiritual wealth) in behaving this way. Kabir says - listen to me, the pure current of Satguru's grace(Anhad Bani) flows all the time, wash your mind in it, and you will also become pure like Him.

  35. Bhai Rama Singh Jis Dream: My Beautiful Dream - Khalsa Raj After five or six months of doing simran with the Sangat at the Gurdwara, in a dream one day, I reached Sri Harmandar Sahib. Sri Harmandar Sahib was decorated with white, red, blue, green and orange diamonds. I wanted to continue seeing it. I cannot describe the splendour of the scene before me. The building was studded with such shining stones, that their light was many times more than ordinary electric bulbs.Yet it was not glaring but soothing. They were not hot like bulbs. At that time there was a slight drizzle and I thought that my clothes were wet; but when I touched them they were dry. I bowed before Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, did matha tekan and sat down. The raagi Singhs were doing kirtan of this Shabad: “The Supreme Lord God, through the Divine Guru, has Himself protected and preserved His children. Celestial peace, tranquillity and bliss have come to pass; my service has been perfect. || 1 || Pause || God Himself has heard the prayers of His humble devotees. He dispelled my disease, and rejuvenated me; His glorious radiance is so great! || 1 || He has forgiven me for my sins, and interceded with His power. I have been blessed with the fruits of my mind's desires; Nanak is a sacrifice to Him. || 2 ||” (SGGS p. 819) I became so immersed in kirtan that my only desire was to keep listening. On completion of the Shabad, I realised that I had come to see Khalsa Raj. I got up and went to see Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. Akal Takhat is such an Immortal Throne of Spiritual and Worldly Sovereignty, that there Truth reigns and truth is the final outcome. “There, only the Truth is judged true; the sinners are picked out and separated.” (SGGS p. 463) “True in the Primal beginning, True throughout the ages. True here and now. O Nanak, forever and ever True.” (SGGS p. 1) The Panj Piaray were doing simran at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. I announced Gur Fateh “Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.” When they replied, it seemed to me that the resonance of the Gur Fateh was coming from the whole of Des Panjab. After darshan of the Panj Piaray, I was in a state of bliss. I felt as if I was doing darshan of my Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji through the Panj Piaray. “Khalsa is in my image. In Khalsa do I reside.” (Sarab Loh Granth) I can never forget this scene all my life. They said, “Have you come to see Khalsa Raj?” I confirmed asking them to help me. Then I had a conversation with them. They sent a Khalsa Singh with me. First of all he took me into an underground tunnellike cavity. As I stepped in, a melodious chant of “Waheguru” started and I was so emotionally struck that my eyes flooded with tears. I could not contain myself. These were tears of bliss and happiness. I did not have the courage to step further. From where I was standing, I bowed to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and sat down. The throne of Guru Ji was decorated many times more resplendently than the most majestic Thrones of the ancient Maharajas. The gold Palaki (structure on which Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is placed) was studded with many varieties of diamonds and rubies; the glitter of which had a charming effect on the mind. The overhead Chanani too was covered with star shapes and pearls. I was left completely amazed. The Gursikhs sitting in this massive underground place were doing simran of Waheguru to the accompaniment of a large variety of natural musical sounds. There was divine bliss in these sounds and I became completely absorbed in them. “The Sound-current of the Naad (octave) vibrates there, and countless musicians play on all sorts of instruments there. So many raags (musical “moods” of the Indian musical system), so many musicians singing there.” (SGGS p. 6) I was not conscious of myself and my concentration was totally in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Darshan of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji made me feel that Waheguru Ji, Akal Purakh (the Timeless Being), was present right in front of me. From the Prakaash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, rays of soothing light were radiating on the Gursikhs. “Light radiates from the place where sits the Holy Congregation (Saadh Sangat)” (Bhai Gurdas Ji) In the radiance, I saw the image of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guru Ji spoke, “My blessing will be on any Gursikh who does Waheguru simran.” Hearing this, I saw before my eyes a war scene in which Mata Sahib Kaur Ji asked, “I can see all Singhs but not the Sahibzaday (Princes of Guru Ji).” Guru Ji waved towards the Khalsa and said, “Why lament the death of the Four, thousands are alive. Due to the sacrifice of the Four Sahibzaday, thousands of Gursikhs who do simran have been born.” Guru Ji prayed to Akal Purakh, “I promised that thousands of Singh’s will do simran, but today, with Your Blessing, hundreds of thousands are doing simran.” The Khalsa Ji who was with me said, “Singh Ji! Be alert!” After the completion of simran, most Singhs got up and left, but about 15 to 20 remained deep in simran. I asked Khalsa Ji, “All others have gone, why are these still in meditation?” Khalsa Ji replied, “They have gone to see the fantastic sights of Sach Khand. They have left their physical bodies and their ethereal bodies have flown through dasam duar (tenth gate) to Sach Khand. Some, for two days, some for four and others for a longer time. They go for darshan of Akal Purakh (the Timeless Being i.e. God) and return. To see Sach Khand it is necessary to do continuous simran.” Khalsa Ji told me that at 2.30 in the morning, five Singhs do the Prakaash of Guru Ji in the underground chamber. The Prakaash is located at the same place at the beginning of the tunnel at Sri Amritsar Sahib. The early morning (Amrit vela) Mukh- Vaak - Main Order - is heard by all Sangat on speakers. All the Sangat heed and act according to this Vaak. Three o’ clock swas-swas simran starts. From 4.00 to 5.00 a.m. Waheguru simran is done with musical instruments. After the completion of simran, the Sangat goes to the Gurdwara to do Nit Nem followed by langar and return to their homes. After this, Khalsa Ji took me to the Gurdwara. I was amazed to see such a beautiful Gurdwara. It was built of stone more beautiful than marble. I went inside and performed matha tekan. The Palaki (on which Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is placed) was decorated with many coloured glass. The overhead Chanani cloth was decorated with star shapes, rubies and pearls. Two Anand Karaj ceremonies were taking place in the Gurdwara. The only difference was that one Panjabi Singh was being married to a white Singhani, while a white Singh was being married to a Panjabi Singhani. There was a lot of Sangat here from the two villages of the brides and the grooms to bless the marriages. They all seemed to have great regard for each other. The Panj Piaray from both villages were also present. Gurbani Kirtan was going on and it was so sweet that one did not feel like leaving. The ceremony was simple and in complete accord with Gurmatt. There was no question of any dowry being given. I asked Khalsa Ji, “What is the meaning of these mixed marriages?” Khalsa Ji said, “In order to eradicate any colour distinctions, such marriages are taking place. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji is all knowing. Guru Ji is creating such a Khalsa who remain staunch in their belief. The people of Panjab do not have total faith in the Guru. White Singhs will remain faithful and will not turn their backs on the Guru. They will be fit to run the Khalsa Raj because in them there is no discrimination between high and low. They will practise the Words of Guru Ji. “It is noticed, that after taking Amrit, the White Singhs keep their rehat. In this way in one or two generations the complexion of the Khalsa would be the same. Differences and the caste system would be eradicated.” After the Anand Karaj the Sangat went to langar shakan (eating food in the Langar). The langar had been made in iron utensils and was very tasty. I asked, “How is the langar (food in the Langar) prepared for so many Sangat?” Khalsa Ji told me, “Food items for the Langar are prepared in the food factory and sent to the Gurdwara. In this way peeling potatoes, cutting vegetables, grounding flour (atta), preparing yogurt etc., all this is done quite quickly. Recipes for everything are ready regarding ingredients like salt, pepper and masala etc. and all food is prepared by machines, and washing etc. is all done by machines. There are special machines for making prasaaday (rotis) as well. And so langar is prepared quickly for hundreds of thousands of Sangat.” I was able to see some of the food preparations and was amazed at the efficiency and the automation used. After eating langar, people from the two villages were seen strolling in a park and the atmosphere and social niceties were like a happy fare. All seemed healthy and happy and very friendly towards each other. Khalsa Ji told me, “The tunnel extends from Sri Amritsar to Delhi and there are settlements (villages or townships) on both sides. About a hundred thousand people live in each settlement. The affairs of each settlement are run by Panj Piaray. Each settlement has a Gurdwara and a food factory. The langar of all is cooked in the Gurdwara. All eat at the Gurdwara and a deduction is made from each person’s pay. Everyone must work for at least four hours. Ladies also work for four hours. There are parks on both sides of the tunnel. There are beautiful special parks for children, There are many grounds for playing sports.” I noticed green grass lawns, as if green carpets had been laid out. There was nice smelling perfume coming from the flowers and it smelt like non other on this earth. There were many varieties of flowers. Then Khalsa Ji took me to see a hospital. It was beautifully designed and very clean. It was many storeys high. There were large beds in the rooms but they were empty. There were machines for doing all sorts of checking of illnesses. I was surprised and remarked, “But there are no patients here.” Khalsa Ji said, “The medicine for all illnesses is Naam (Sukhmani Sahib)” “All the Khalsa here, get up in the morning and do Naam simran. For this reason they do not fall ill. Due to the power of simran they are not worried about anything. The average life of a Khalsa is 150 years and after that they achieve salvation.” I was then taken to a shopping centre, There were many large shops but no one appeared to be running them. I asked about this. Khalsa Ji took me to the gate. He said, “All things in the shops are uniformly priced. You make the payment in advance for all the things you wish to buy and the payment is put into a machine. The gate opens. The weight of the person entering is automatically measured. There are other machines inside and you can buy further items etc. The control is through weight measurement of in-coming people, and outgoing people with their goods. The machines can detect dishonesty, the fines for which are heavy (ten times the value of the goods stolen).” --------------------------- Cow Centre “You save the beasts, demons and fools, and even stones are carried across. Slave Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary; he is forever and ever a sacrifice to You.” (SGGS p. 802) Khalsa Ji took me to an animal farm and told me that arrangements had been made for the salvation of animals. He said, “The simran in the morning can be heard by them through speakers. There is no shortage of milk and butter. The cows are brought in from other countries. A special place has been made for the cows, and there are employees who look after them. There is a special tunnel through which the cows can come and go. There are automatic fountains for the cows. As the cows step in, these fountains switch on; a little further, a current of warm air dries them. Much attention is given to cleanliness. There is a special train for the cows to be taken out to the countryside for grazing. They are brought back by train in the evening. They wash as in the morning and are given their fodder. They remain happy and give a lot of milk.” I reflected that in India today thousands are starving, but in Khalsa Raj, even the animals will be well looked after and will not go hungry. O’ human being! If animals can get human life by listening to Naam, why do you not recite Naam and achieve salvation. Having shown all this, Khalsa Ji took me in a special vehicle to show me the motorway. It was very wide. Both sides were lined by colourful roses. For example, for one mile white flowers, then for the next mile red flowers and so on. They made the air fragrant. There were stones in the middle of the motorway painted in the same colour as the flowers. There was no need for any lighting as the stones radiated light. After every 25 to 30 miles there were beautiful stopping places for eating food which was free. Khalsa Ji said that there were free travel passes for the elderly people. Khalsa Ji said, “There will be one rule in Khalsa Raj. When a child is born it will get child allowance. But this allowance will not be retained by the parents but by the Khalsa. When children grow up, then the expenses of marriage, house and car will be given by the Khalsa. Any shortfall will be made up by the Khalsa. Before they commence work, they will be given six months holidays for travelling abroad. Their holiday travel expenses will be paid by the Khalsa (administration). On return they will take up the jobs allocated to them by the Khalsa. Free flying lessons will be given to Gursikh children.” I asked, “How would the shortage of electricity and water be resolved?”. Khalsa Ji, “When the Khalsa Raj spreads to the whole of India, then Khalsa will make arrangements for water and electricity. For example, floods come in Bangladesh and water cannot be controlled, and there is great loss of life and property. To overcome this, Khalsa will construct a dam and supply water to the whole of India. In this way, this area will be saved from floods and the shortage of water and electricity will be overcome.” I asked, “How would 960 million people be initiated into the Order of the Khalsa?” Khalsa Ji, “When Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s spiritual Light merged with the Universal Light, the Hindus claimed he was their Guru and wanted to cremate his body; and the Muslims claimed him to be their Pir (religious leader) and wanted to bury his body. When the sheet covering Guru Ji’s body was lifted, only a heap of flowers were found underneath. The Hindus and the Muslims divided the sheet in two and took one half each. “I dye myself in the colour of the Lord, and sew what has to be sewn. Without the Lord's Name, I cannot live, even for a moment.” (SGGS p. 485) “Science has proven that the Gurbani uttered by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji five hundred years ago, has spread in the global atmosphere. Wherever there are Gurdwaras, Bani is being read. Through the resonance of that, the world is continually being saved; otherwise by now, the nature of Kalyug (which is fire) would have burnt and destroyed everyone. As Guru Nanak Dev Ji says in Asa di Vaar: “In the Age of Sat Yug, contentment was the chariot and righteousness the charioteer. In the Age of Treta Yug, celibacy was the chariot and power the charioteer. In the Age of Duapar Yug, penance was the chariot and truth the charioteer. In the Age of Kalyug, fire is the chariot and falsehood the charioteer.” (SGGS p. 470 ) “Meaning that the nature of the Age of Kalyug, being the vehicle of fire, is hot and the Name of Waheguru is cool and soothing for the soul. For this reason, contentment is achieved through Naam simran. “The chant of Naam which resounds through the “tunnel” (Amritsar to Delhi) will have its spiritual effect. Through the power of Naam Bani (utterance of Naam) all those who hear will start Naam simran. All will join the Khalsa Panth when they realise that the Sikh faith is the faith of truth. In this way the two halves of Guru Nanak’s “covering sheet”will be sewn together again. “The Baba (Guru Nanak Dev Ji) is venerated in every home, the difference between the Hindu and the Muslim has been lost (forgotten)” (Bhai Gurdas: Vaar 1.34) “The map of India will change in Khalsa raj. This is the land of the Akal Purakh. Those who love God will take birth. The unbelievers, through their own sins will be destroyed. The new generation will understand truth. “In large cities of foreign countries, like New York, London, Khalsa centers will be built. All those in need will be helped there. They will be looked after and supplied with food and clothes, free of charge. “Khalsa would educate girls not to commit the sin of undergoing abortions. These are the girls who are not in a position to bring up children for economic or other reasons. Instead, Khalsa will look after unwanted children until they are mature. In this way, mothers and children would be attracted to Sikhi. They would develop deep links with the Sikh nation. Some of them would adopt Sikhi and marry into Sikh families in Panjab. “And so Sikhi will spread to a Khalsa population of 960 million.” I asked, “When negotiating or holding talks with other countries, who would lead?” Khalsa Ji, “Panj Piaray from Akal Takhat will take the lead in any talks.” I asked, “Would the same Panj Piaray continue to hold that position?”Khalsa Ji, “Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was all-knowing. Guru Ji will so guide people’s behaviour, that no one would have any self-centred ambition to hold high positions. Whoever wishes to be included will be considered. First, the Panj Piaray at village level would be selected. The names of those wishing to do the sewa will be put on pieces of paper and five names will be selected by drawing lots. The village Panj Piaray would select the Panj Piaray of Akal Takhat in the same way. All villages will be run by the selected Panj Piarays. Selection process would be repeated after five years. “After Punjab, Khalsa will also start preaching Sikhi in other parts of India. Khalsa will help the poor. Houses will be built for those without shelter. No beggars will be seen in India in the Khalsa Raj. They will be given priority. Their needs will be satisfied. Hospitals will be built for free treatment. In Khalsa Raj no pressure will be put on anyone to adopt Sikhi. No religion will be regarded as inferior. With Guru’s blessing, some will themselves start reading and reciting Gurbani. The Khalsa method of preaching will be the proper method. Khalsa will preach in such a way that many would be attracted to Sikhi. There will be large camps with audio visual displays about the Sikh martyrdom tradition. The preaching will explain the power of simran which gave the ancient Singhs the will to undergo torture and to bear the pain in order to uphold truth and justice. At these camps, representatives of other religions will also be invited to give their views. They will give information about their own religions and exchange views. However, while discussing and exchanging views they would themselves realise that Sikhi is the path of truth. “First, Allah created the Light; then, by His Creative Power, He made all mortal beings. From the One Light, the entire universe welled up. So who is good, and who is bad?” (SGGS p. 1349) These people of other faiths will accept Sikhi and the Sikh faith will spread.” Khalsa Ji said, “As one has to apply for a visa to visit another country, so people would have to apply for a visa to visit Punjab. Only a religious person would be allowed to enter Punjab (Sach Khand on earth). Only those who read Bani would be allowed to enter. No one who drinks alcohol or smokes will be allowed to enter Panjab. They would be able to go to other parts of India but not to Panjab. Anyone wishing to enter Panjab, would be asked by the Khalsa embassy, “Can you speak Panjabi and read Bani?” Only one who has faith in the Guru would be able to go to Panjab. Panjab will become a part of Sach Khand on earth.” ----------------------------------- The Punisher of Evil-doers: Guru Gobind Singh Ji I asked, “Khalsa Ji, I would ask one more question. India was such a great power, how did Khalsa achieve victory?” Khalsa Ji, “Tyrannical arrogance is not acceptable to Har Ji (God) “Acting in egotism, peace is not obtained. The intellect of the mind is false; only the Lord is True. All who love duality are ruined. People act as they are pre-ordained. || 1 || I have seen the world to be such a gambler; all beg for peace, but they forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord. || 1 || (SGGS p. 222) “Everyone knows that there was a war between Ram Ji and Rawan. Rawan was arrogant that there was no warrior greater than him. That he had so many sons. “Ram passed away, as did Raawan, even though he had a very large family. Says Nanak, nothing lasts forever; the world is like a dream[4].” (SGGS p. 1429) “A fortress like that of Sri Lanka, with the ocean as a moat around it — there is no news about that house of Raavan. || 1 || What shall I ask for? Nothing is permanent. I see with my eyes that the world is passing away. || 1 || Pause || Thousands of sons and thousands of grandsons — but in that house of Raavan, the lamps and wicks have gone out. || 2 ||” (SGGS p. 481) “He was proud that his city of Lanka was made of gold. He was also proud that he had been blessed with immortality. He thought that Ram Chandar Ji did not have any army, and that it would be easy to kill him. There were only three of them: Ram Chandar, Lashman and Hanuman. To crush Rawan’s pride, Ram Chandar used divine power.” “Secondly, Daryodhan was very proud that he had on his side the great warriors and war equipment, and that the Pandav’s had nothing. That he was bound to win. Daryodhan did not understand that Bhagwan Krishan did not like his arrogance. To humble him, Krishan supported the Pandavs. Daryodhan was killed with his army and the Pandavs were victorious.” “Thirdly, India too was proud that they had much power with a large army and war equipment. They too, in their arrogance, did not hesitate from attacking Harmandar Sahib. As Ram Ji and Krishan used divine powers, in the same way Guru Ji granted divine power to the Panj Piaray to uproot evil.” “As Guru Gobind Singh Ji granted divine power to Banda Singh Bahadur and instructed him to avenge the death of the younger Sahibzaday; and, that no one would withstand him. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s words are:- “I shall give a single Khalsa the strength and courage to fight sawa lakh (i.e. one hundred and twenty five thousand: symbolic of unlimited courage). Only then shall I be called Gobind Singh.” “Banda Singh Bahadur did avenge the martyrdom of the younger Sahibzaday. Guru Ji gave one Banda Singh Bahadur so much power that no one could stop him. The Muslims ruled the whole of India at the time. Guru Ji gave the Panj Piaray His own divine power. Guru Ji said:- “No-one offers anyone sovereignty (on a plate!) Anyone who gets it, grabs it through own prowess.” “As Ram Ji and Krishan Bhagwan crushed the pride of Rawan and Daryodhan, so Akal Purakh destroyed the pride of these people and established Khalsa Raj.” ---------------------------------------- “May my family live happily” (Chaopai Guru Gobind Singh Ji) Khalsa Ji said “The promise of Guru Ji has now been fulfilled. All sit and eat together in the morning and evening. After taking Amrit we are now the citizens of Anandpur. Our parents are Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur. We are all the family of Guru Ji. All our worries are over. Now, simran will destroy all our sins and after managing own Khalsa Raj in this life, we shall achieve salvation. Now, in the Khalsa Raj, the Panj Piaray manage all the affairs of the Panth. “The chosen ones are acceptable, the chosen ones are supreme. The chosen ones are honoured in the (Lord’s) Court. The chosen ones look resplendent in the courts of kings. The chosen ones meditate on the Guru alone.” (SGGS p. 3) “The authority of the Khalsa shall prevail in all India. There will be parks adjoining all Gurdwaras for little children to play in.” All this I was told by Khalsa Ji. Having seen the fantastic sights of Khalsa Raj, my soul prayed, “O’ True Guru! Wondrous Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, I offer you my gratitude that your words have come to pass. I have seen the sights of Khalsa Raj.” “I shall make kings of these poor Sikhs Thus shall they remember my Guruship.” (Sr Guru Panth Prakash) Wondrous Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, bless and support your Khalsa, that these sights of Khalsa Raj (second Sach Khand) are seen by the whole world. I regard it as important to mention that when I went for darshan of Khalsa Raj, of the Panj Piaray sitting at Akal Takhat, three of the Singhs were white. In the tunnel too, and in the Gurdwara, there were white Singhs and Singhanis. By adopting the rehat of Satguru Ji, they qualified for the highest sewa of the Panth. Why are we so lax? When are we going to understand? There is still time Sikhs, steady yourselves! Look after your Sikhi.

  36. Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji:- If one can not understand the meanings of Gurbani, he should try to concentrate on the gramatical (laga-maatraan-even if you don't have any knowlegde, try to remember them) part to read it as "shudh" as possible, he'll get to understand the meanings by Guru sahib's kirpa after some time automatically.

  39. Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh Questions answered by Sant Baba Darshan Singh Dhakki Sahib 1) Right now we're supposedly in the Kaal Yug (age of darkness, one of the 4 ages), if and when the Saatch Yug (age of light/truth) comes, does that mean everything is good or there's still a mixture? If everything is good, how would you know what was good? If everything was bad, how would you know what was bad? The four yugs (ages) don't occur in a linear fashion one after the other. All four are always in motion at exactly the same time, however one is always a bit more dominant than the others. Hence in the Kal Yug the darkness is dominant but you also have some saatch (light/truth/wisdom), and in the Saatch Yug you will also have some kal (darkness/ignorance), but the saatch will be dominant. Right now the kal is dominant, but it doesn't last. 2) What's the purpose of all this creation? It's all God's play. God throws you out within Himself (here Babaji flicks his finger as though flicking a small marble ball away) and then says "Find me" (here Babaji illustrates the point by at the same time urging the ball to return to him with a motion of his fingers). And all this is leela (God's eternal play) that's going on infinitely and spontaneously without intention, It's God playing and expressing Himself in infinite different roops (forms). (Because God doesn't need a reason to do anything and has nothing to achieve or purpose to fulfill, or else he wouldn't be God. Everything is the spontaneous eternal play of the Infinite for Self-expression and Self-experience). 3) How would you define your role? To lead people's hearts to God, to join them with God, that's my only role. Sometimes that will be achieved through external social service, sometimes through devotion or an emphasis on meditation or through gyan (dispersing knowledge of the truth). The doctor has to adapt his medicine according to the differing needs and nature of the patient. 4) What's the most important thing on the spiritual path? Pursuing the truth, nothing is more important that that. If a man can prove to me that God doesn't exist, I'm willing to follow that man, because truth is all that counts. 5) Gurbani (main Sikh scripture) says that the world reality is actually just a projected appearance by God within His consciousness just like our dreams at night which seem to be intensely real, but which turn out to be completely non-existent when we wake up in the morning. Gurbani says again and again that we should wake up from this jagrat state (waking dream) to the 4th state (Turiya which is the source substance of the first three and the sole reality). You've meditated and experienced that everything is inside yourself, not on the outside, that it's all truly just a dream within your own consciousness. So why then do you do all these charitable projects such as the blood camps, de-addiction centers, why do you run around for so many hours each day giving so many discourses at so many different Gurdwaras, when you know none of this really exists, no one is really suffering and no one is really helped, that it's all a dream as Gurbani states. Why do you do something instead of nothing? It's completely true that all this is just a dream in reality, it doesn't really exist, but I do what I do for 3 reasons. First of all it's my hukam to do whatever I'm doing. Secondly, I like the role I've been given, I'm able to help others within this dream, it's a good role. And thirdly due to the love of the people in the dream. But the most important of the three is the hukam. None of this exists outside, the whole world is a dream within just like the seemingly intense physical solidity of the world in your own dreams at night, but still the most important thing to do in this dream is to honor and follow God's hukam. In truth everyone is following God's hukam, everyone without exception is doing exactly what God wants them to, but 99% of the people are unaware of this, you can't even have the thought that makes you take a certain action or take a breath without God's hukam. The whole universe exists and is in motion by Wahe Guru's (God's) hukam alone. 6) It's my understanding that God projects the field of Maya (the world illusion) within Himself, then projects all the individual souls also within Himself, and that these supposedly individual souls are in reality never separate from Wahe Guru (God), but when placed in a body with limited senses and a mind, they forget their true nature and think they are separate beings so that all the dramas can be enjoyed with greater intensity. Is it true that God and the Atma are always one, never separate at any time and that in reality all bondage or suffering is only due to a lack of perception or realization on this front? It's true that the Atma (individualized soul in a body) and Paramatama (God) are always one, there is never any separation, but the Atma is made to forget this truth via ignorance and has to go through various disciplines to realize it's true nature. God is in each person, but God isn't Maya (the world illusion which appears to be real via ignorance). 7) Yes, but isn't it true that the very shakti (life force) in the field of Maya is none other than Paramatama (God/the Infinite)? That in truth God is the very source substance of the field of Maya, but in that instance God is simply appearing in a different form? Yes, that's true, it is God, but the roop (form) is different. Everything and everyone is God, but appearing in a different roop. Top 8) Is it true that the only veiling curtain between man and God is the thoughts of the mind alone since God is one, but the thoughts of the mind always perceive things in terms of diverse contrasts (such as good or bad, cold or hot, rich and poor) instead of recognizing the unity of everything at the source substance level? Yes, Wahe Guru (God) is everywhere, but because of the mann (mind) thinking 'meh' ('me' or 'I'), the ego is formed which perceives reality as separation and diversity (instead of recognizing everything as one, the mind makes the soul perceive everything inside the body as 'I', and everything outside as 'you' or 'them'). This hides the true reality. When the mind is purified and made transparent through simran (making the mind one pointed on God), then the underlying reality of Wahe Guru (God) is recognized as the sole reality. Dualistic thoughts (seeing things as separate and distinct) are the veiling curtain that hide God from our awareness even though He's everywhere. 9) When the eyes are closed and the mind is emptied of thoughts for even only 5 seconds, even though you're not thinking and the mind is empty for a short while, there's still a very subtle but clear awareness that you exist which seems to have it's center in the heart rather than the mind, That subtle awareness or consciousness of existing is colorless, formless, and very calm and seems to be never changing or moving, until thoughts are projected upon It, like a movie projected on a screen. It's the easiest thing in the world to lose one's balance by getting mixed up in the movies created by one's thoughts, but going back to the root awareness in those moments seems to have an instantly centering and balancing effect, because even in the middle of even intensely happy or unhappy experiences, looking within with the mind empty even for only a few seconds, that very subtle awareness that one exists still seems to be perfectly calm and completely still and in peace. So what I wanted to ask was, is this neverchanging subtle awareness that you still exist when you have no thoughts even for a few seconds Wahe Guru, is it your real Self? Yes, that awareness or consciousness within your heart is Wahe Guru (the Infinite), but what you're experiencing is a small glimpse of your real Self. As you gradually get more and more anchored in that, it expands into infinity. What you're experiencing is a drop which is your Atma (the individual soul), and as you go deeper you'll experience that the drop - your Atma - has always in reality been an ocean which is Paramatama, the sole ocean within which everything exists. Then when you return from the experience of realizing that you are the ocean, that awareness will be with you at all times even when your eyes are wide open. A person in this state is called a Jiwanmukta (awakened while still in body). (Note: When the eyes are closed and the mind is emptied of thoughts for even only 5 seconds - because anyone can achieve that for at least 5 seconds - what remains in the absence of thoughts is an awareness that you exist. The sensation of the eyes is a bit of a distraction at first even though they're closed, but getting past that gradually, if one pays attentions, the subtle awareness that you exist reveals itself as originating in the chest area, in the heart rather than the mind). 10) Does the mind in such a person completely dissolve, leaving only the spiritual heart as the sole guide or discriminating faculty? No, the mind doesn't completely disappear, it remains, but in a purified state. The mind before, being the cause of your ego had become your master, now it becomes the dutiful servant of the heart (your real Self). Your real Self is not the body, or mind but spirit (consciousness) which has it's origin in your spiritual heart. That spirit is everywhere though, but in your body you'll find it's root in your heart. 11) How do you function after the mind has been purified to reveal the underlying source substance of all reality? Your spiritual heart determines the direction to go, while the mind analyzes, dissects and figures out the best way to get from point A to point B. Again the mind doesn't determine direction or desired end, only how to get there within the dream world. Through simran and meditation, the mind becomes one pointed making it transparent and acutely sharp, but because it's conditioning has been thinned out almost completely dissolving the ego, it becomes a complete servant of the heart, which is your real Self and one with the Infinite. God resides in every heart, persevere and surrender to that and you're free. 12) You're referring to the spiritual heart slightly to the right, not the physical organ to the left? Yes, the spiritual heart is consciousness, from that comes the shakti which animates the mind and your body. 13) Is the ego completely dissolved or some portion is left in order for you to be able to keep your feet on the physical plane? A very small trace of ego is left after you recognize the unity of all creation. However that small amount of ego is so transparent that a Self realized saint is unmoved by whatever happens on this plane, having recognized the truth. And that small trace of ego is there by the choice of the saints so that they can function on this physical plane and fulfill their hukam, otherwise they would be on another plane, and not in their body. 14) Some people prefer to think of God in human form as a saint or avtar, my perception without intention happens to be of the Infinite in the formless state, as spirit or indivisible consciousness that is manifest within everything. My frame of reference keeps returning to the central point that everything is God, so what I wanted to ask you is, is there anything wrong with this angle of vision, or is there a better way to approach all this? Am I doing anything wrong, should anything be changed? No, there's nothing wrong with thinking God is everything, it's very good. And no, there's no need to change anything, continue doing whatever you want. 15) Some mystics have given others an experience by a simple touch, can you give me the experience of samadhi? (Babaji smiles and says): Via simran(Meditation), it will come by itself. 16) It's a psychological truth that you actually become whatever your dominant thought is, whatever you think about all the time, that becomes your reality, but how would you personally define the purpose or benefit of doing simran? Without simran you are like a little child lost in a mela (fairground/festival) and can easily lose your way or be easily overwhelmed by all the diverse rides, games, sights and sounds. The only obstacle to realizing your true nature is your ego, and the ego is only a child of your mind which is only made up of thoughts. Simran gradually makes your mind one pointed on one thought, until it purifies the mind so that it dissolves and becomes transparent enough to reveal your true underlying nature. After that you are like the child who returns to the playground holding a finger of your Father's (God's) hand. Then you can go on any ride you want without ever again losing your way in the fairground or getting overwhelmed with all the attractions, sights and sounds, and for the first time are fully able to enjoy the mela (fairground/festival) as a free person realizing it for what it is. 17) I have a firm belief in the concept that - praise or blame, both are the same, since the source substance of both is the same one Infinite - and that as a result we should be even and balanced inside in both situations. The praise part is easy to get a handle on, but blame is of course always a little more difficult, so I prayed for some practice on this front. Is it OK to be even and balanced inside in the event of blame or abuse, or should one be in bliss even in that? It's very good to be even within in the event of blame or abuse, remaining even and balanced is a very high state. Beyond that later on comes a state where you are in bliss even during blame, but that's going deeper still. 18) Why is there still so much suffering and poverty in India for so many? Because where you have extreme good as in the case of all the Mahatamas and enlightened saints, you must also have extreme bad to balance it all. Everything in the universe is a perfect balance. Here in America, you don't have extreme good, and hence you also don't have extreme bad, although you do have bad. It takes more of the apparently bad to outweigh the good since the apparently good is always more powerful than bad. So India is very extreme on both ends for a completely perfect balance between the two. On the surface of India, you see only the apparently bad, but below the surface India has the highest good too in the form of all it's awakened sages, who have always been beneficial to the whole planet. That's the country that has produced all the enlightened sages and given the world all it's religions. 19) What do you see as the biggest problem in India today? Lack of education and negative thinking. 20) Do men in India treat their women better these days, or is divorce becoming more prevalent there? The ideal is one thing, but unfortunately the reality is generally something else. The reality is that if the women of India had economic independence as generally do the women here, then India would lead the whole world for divorces. It's only because of majboori (economic difficulty, mutual need for security) that couples stick together, there's often not true love or mutual respect as the base of the marriage. But here in America, the majboori isn't there, but there's a big lack of commitment. A marriage formed in the mutual love of God is the highest. 21) Is it true that the purpose of all religion is to simply realize your real self, and nothing else? Absolutely true, that's why in Gurbani it says many times "Aapna mul pashaano" (recognize your true nature/know thyself, the source substance/substratum of your very existence). All the rest of religion is just preparation for that, to mature and make us ripe for the real work which is to stop being distracted by externals, dive within our own heart and realize our true nature which is purely spiritual, not physical. The true nature of everything and everyone is spiritual, the whole universe appears in the spirit of Wahe Guru (the Infinite) who is the sole reality in all things. 22) Guru means anyone or anything that dispels the darkness of ignorance. It's said that there can and will be many gurus in many forms, including books and communication via dreams, but that for each person there is precisely one Sat Guru (highest guide), so how do you recognize the Sat Guru? Sat Guru is the one that takes you all the way to anand (bliss). 23) Is the real nature of the guru with form (human body) or without form? Without form (infinite spirit, consciousness). As a result all the true Gurus are one. 24) Is it better to do just simran, meditation or both? Meditation is like winding up a clock in the morning, giving you the momentum to do your simran the whole day. One is fine, both together is better. 25) Is contemplating God as being within everyone and everything at all times the same as doing simran? Contemplating God at all times is good, but without simran it's difficult to progressively ascend the ladder of consciousness. (The effects of simran are based upon the psychological truth that you become whatever your dominant thought is, since our reality is always colored & formed by whatever we saturate our consciousness with for the majority of the time). 26) Are there other planes of existence or dimensions where there is more peace or bliss? Yes, there are planes where there is nothing but bliss, then there are some below. Compared to the spiritual planes, this plane of existence is nothing, the happiness here is nothing compared to the happiness on the spiritual plane. But before getting there the soul has to evolve through many life forms. Towards the end that soul will once again be put in a human body for one or two more lifetimes, and will be given a role whereby it does nothing but physical seva for all from youth to old age and death, in order for that soul to get past theory and completely experience that God is truly equally within everyone and everything, that everything is God. 27) I have really bad dreams that the world is going to end soon, we're doing so many crazy things these days. What should I do about that? Those who fear that the world will end should pray to God that it doesn't. That will make a difference. In reality this world will never end, existence never comes to an end. All this creation is happening on such an endlessly infinite scale that the mind can't even begin to comprehend the scope of God's eternal creation. Forms and circumstances change, but life, existence never had a beginning or birth and will never come to an end or death.
