Words which Bhai Sahib wrote back then are true today also and can help us move forward on path of Sangharsh.**** ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਆਦਰਸ਼ (ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਰਣਧੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ) ਨੋਟ-ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਵੰਡ ਹੋਣ, ਪਿਛੋਂ ਜਰਵਾਣਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਬੜੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਢਾਹੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਧਣ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧਣ ਲਈ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਨੇ "ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਲ" ਕਾਇਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਲੁਧਿਆਣੇ ਜ਼ਿਲੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਭਾਈ ਰਣਧੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਥਾਪੇ ਗਏ। ਓਦੋਂ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿਤਾ। ਓਸ ਛਪੇ ਟ੍ਰੈਕਟ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ੴ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਹ॥ ਦੁਸਟ ਜਿਤੇ ਉਠਵਤ ਉਤਪਾਤਾ॥ ਸਕਲ ਮਲੇਛ ਕਰੋ ਰਣ ਘਾਤਾ॥ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦਮਨੇਸ਼ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਸਮੇਸ਼ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਧਰਮ ਧੁਰੰਦਰੀ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸਚ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਆਦਰਸ਼ੀ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਉਪਰ ਅੰਕਤ ਦੁਪੰਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਦਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਲਗੇਸ਼ ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀ ਵਲੋਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁਖ ਪਰਯੋਜਨ ਜਗ ਜਨਮ-ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਦਾ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਹ ਸੀ- ਹਮ ਇਹ ਕਾਜ ਜਗਤ ਮੋ ਆਏ॥ ਧਰਮ ਹੇਤ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ਪਠਾਏ॥ ਜਹਾਂ ਤਹਾਂ ਤੁਮ ਧਰਮ ਬਿਥਾਰੋ॥ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦੋਖੀਅਨ ਪਕਰਿ ਪਛਾਰੋ॥42॥ ਯਾਹੀ ਕਾਜ ਧਰਾ ਹਮ ਜਨਮੰ॥ ਸਮਝ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਭ ਮਨਮੰ॥ ਧਰਮ ਚਲਾਵਨ ਸੰਤ ਉਬਾਰਨ॥ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਸਭਨ ਕੋ ਮੂਲ ਉਪਾਰਨ॥43॥ {ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ, ਅਧਿ:6} ਇਸ ਉਪਰਲੇ ਆਦਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਅਮਲੀ ਜਾਮਾ ਪਹਿਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਅਜ਼ਲੀ ਅਬਦੀ ਇਰਫਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਿਆਸਤਦਾਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਪੰਥ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਸਾਜਿਆ। ਸਾਜ ਕੇ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਕ ਸੂਰਬੀਰਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਪੁੰਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪ੍ਰਮਾਰਥਕ ਕਲਾ ਜਲਾਲਨੀ ਜਾਗਤ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਗਾ ਕੇ, ਨਿਖਾਲਸ(ਨਿਰੋਲ ਖਾਲਸਾ) ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ ਹੇਤ, ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰ ਹੇਤ ਮਰ ਮਿਟਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ-ਯੁਧ ਵਿਚ ਜ਼ਾਲਮਾਂ ਅਧਰਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਧ ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਮਲੀਆਮੇਟ ਕਰਨਹਾਰੇ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਜੋਧਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਸਪਿਰਿਟ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ। ਇਸ ਸਪਿਰਿਟ ਸੇਤੀ ਸਰਸ਼ਾਰ ਹੋਏ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਫੌਜਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਕਾਰਨਾਮੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦਿਖਾਏ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੰਗ ਰਹਿ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਪਿਰਿਟ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਧੂਰਤ ਹੋਏ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਵਾਏ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਤਕਣ ਦੀ ਕਜ਼ਬ ਖ਼ਿਆਲਨੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਪਜੀ। ਸਦਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀਆਂ ਕਲਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਔਜ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਇਕੋ ਇਕ ਧੁਰਵਾ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਕਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਮੁਥਾਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਿਹਾ। ਬੇਪਰਵਾਹ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਤੇਜ ਕਰਾਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਆਰਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਗੂੰਜਦਾ ਗਰਜਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਕਪਟ ਪੰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਕਨੌਡ ਵਿਚ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ। ਕਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਈਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨੀ। ਕਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮਸਲਤ ਮੁਸਾਹਬੀ ਦੀ ਝੇਪ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ। ਕਦੇ ਕਦੇ ਕਾਂਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਧੀ। ਕਦੇ ਕਾਇਰਤਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ-ਬਿਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਾਧੀ। ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਰਬ ਸਿਆਸਤਦਾਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਉਚਾ ਮਤਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। "ਏਕ ਬਿਨਾ ਮਨ ਨੈਕ ਨ ਆਨੈ" ਵਾਲੀ ਟੇਕ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਫ਼੍ਰਾਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਬੁਲੰਦ ਰਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਅਨਮਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਗੋਭਾਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਤਦੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਚਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਹਰਬਾਬ ਸਹਾਈ ਰਹਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਦਸਮੇਸ਼ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੁਰਮਾਨ ਉਤੇ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਜਬ ਲਗ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਰਹੇ ਨਿਆਰਾ। ਤਬ ਲਗ ਤੇਜ ਦੀਓ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰਾ॥ ਜਬ ਇਹ ਗਹੇ ਬਿਪਰਨ ਕੀ ਰੀਤ। ਮੈਂ ਨਾ ਕਰਉ ਇਨ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ॥ ਖਾਲਸਈ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਉਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਛਤਰ ਛਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕੇ ਨਦਰ ਕਰੰਮੀ ਮੋਹਰਾਂ ਵਰਸਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਬਿਪ੍ਰੀਤੀ ਬੇਪ੍ਰਤੀਤੀ ਹੋ ਬੀਤੀ ਸੋ ਬੀਤੀ। ਅਗੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਚੌਕਸਤਾ, ਸਾਵਧਾਨਤਾ ਰਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਭੀ ਖ਼ਾਲਸੇ ਦੇ ਪੌਂ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਨ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸਗਲੀ ਠੋਕ ਵਜਾ ਡਿਠੀ। ਕੜੀ ਕਾਂਗ੍ਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੀਂ ਬਣੀ ਗਵਰਨਮੈਂਟ ਅਸਾਡੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣੀ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਹੂ-ਬਲ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਤੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਪਰਨੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਧੋਣੇ ਸਭ ਧੋ ਦੇਣੇ ਹਨ। ਦੇਸ਼-ਵੰਡੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਕੂੜਾਵੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ, ਮੁਲਕਗੀਰੀ ਦੀ ਮਰਦੂਦ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਖਾਲਸਈ ਮੇਅਰਾਜ ਔਜੀ ਆਦਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਖ ਰਖਣਾ ਹੈ। ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਉਤਪਾਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੰਡ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੈ, ਸਗਲ ਮਲੇਛ ਜ਼ਾਲਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਣਘਾਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਪੂਰਨ ਜੋਤਿ-ਜਗੰਨੇ ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਖਾਲਸੇ ਬਣ ਕੇ, ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰਗਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੂਰਬੀਰਤਾ ਦਾ ਖ਼ੂਨ ਮੁੜ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ? ਬਸ ਇਕ ਖਾਲਸਈ ਸਪਿਰਿਟ ਅਸਾਡੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਹੋਵੇ, ਫੇਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਹਾਂ? ਸਾਰੀ ਏਹੜ ਤੇਹੜ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰੀ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਸਿਆਣਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਕੇ ਮੈਦਾਨੀ ਜੂਝਣ ਦਾ ਇਕੋ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਦੀਆ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਗਗਨ ਦਮਾਮਾ ਬਜਾ ਦੇਈਏ। ਇਕ-ਦੰਮ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵਜਾ ਦੇਈਏ। ਫਤਹ ਦਾ ਸੇਹਰਾ ਅਸਾਡੇ ਤੁਸਾਡੇ ਸੀਸ ਤੇ ਝੁਲੇਗਾ। ਦਾਉ ਜੂਝਨ ਦਾ ਖੁੰਝਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬਥੇਰਾ ਖੁੰਝ ਚੁਕਿਆ। ਬਸ ਹੋਰ ਖੁੰਝਣ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੀਏ! ਇਹ ਸਚ ਜਾਣੋ ਕਿ ਏਹਨਾਂ ਜਰਵਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਗੇ ਅੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਜੇ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਜਦ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਫੌਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਏਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਾਲਮਾਂ ਅਤਿਆਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬੁਥਾੜ ਭੰਨਣੇ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਾਤਿਹਾ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਰਨਾ। ਸੋ ਹੁਣ ਵੇਲਾ ਹੈ। ਐ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਗੁਪਤ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜੋ! ਹੁਣ ਜੂਝਣ ਦੀ ਅਉਧ ਆਇ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਬਨੀ ਹੈ। ਕਮਰਕਸੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ। ਸਨੱਧ-ਬੱਧ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਮਲੇਛਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਣ ਵਿਖੇ ਦਲਣ ਮਲਣ ਲਈ ਦਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਇਕੱਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹੱਲਾ ਬੋਲ ਦਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਏਹਨਾਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾ ਉਤਪਾਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮੂਹਰਲਾ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਜਾ ਮਲੋ। ਲਾਹੌਰ ਰਾਵੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਛੇ ਪਛਾੜ ਕੇ, ਏਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੁਰ ਏਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਦਰੇ ਤਾਈਂ ਦਬੱਲੀ ਚਲੋ। ਪਾਛੈ ਪਾਉ ਨ ਦੀਜੀਐ ਆਗੈ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ॥ (ਪੰਨਾ 1370) ਗੁਰੂ ਅਕਾਲ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਜੂਝ ਪਵੋ। ਗੁਪਤ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਛਿਨਵੇਂ ਕਰੋੜ ਫੌਜਾਂ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਬਰਕਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਤੀਰ ਵਰਸਾਉਣਗੀਆਂ। ਮਤ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਸਾਡੇ ਪਾਸ ਬੰਦੂਕਾਂ ਆਦਿਕ ਸ਼ਸਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਮਤ ਸੋਚੋ ਕਿ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਗ਼ਨੀਮ ਪਾਸ ਮਸ਼ੀਨਗਨਾਂ ਤੋਪਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਵਾਈ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹਨ। ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੁਸਾਨੂੰ ਏਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਰਹਿਮਤਾਂ ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਜ਼ਰਾ ਪਿਛੇ ਝਾਤ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਖਾਲਸਈ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਨਿਹਾਰੋ, ਜਦੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਸਮੇਸ਼ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਸਾਡੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ-ਦਮਨ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਨਦੇੜ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਹੁਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਿਧ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹੈ, ਬਾਬਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਪੰਝੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੜਦਲ ਵਿਚ, ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਮਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੰਜਾਬੇ ਤੋਰਿਆ ਸੀ, ਓਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਸ ਕੇਹੜੀਆਂ ਤੋਪਾਂ ਤੇ ਮਸ਼ੀਨਗਨਾਂ ਸਨ? Theres alot of discussion on sikhs marrying hindus and muslims. But what about the growing and worrying trend of sikhs marrying white. I recently knew of a sikh woman who is married to a white man through my work place. I was stunned to when she introduced a bald white guy as her husband. I think we are in a crisis. Will there be any sikhs left to marry with all the sikhs marrying out of religion/race ect. We can only try and live as good Sikhs ourselves. How can can we try and be sikhs when so many leave our religion amd set bad ecamples for future sikhs.

waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh I know someone from our family who had near-death experience. He was about to die and his whole life flashed in front of him like a movie. He could see things he did wrong and things he did right. After that he saw white light ( he called it divine light) and a tunnel. He didnt die though.He was given another chance by Waheguruji. Homosexuality is already come to be considered normal in the west, pedophilia is widely practiced in the Islamic world. Guru Jee has given us a system to implement in our life which can save us from Kaam. By waking at Amritvela, doing Bhagti at that time and through out the day, doing Sangat and studying Gurbani can greatly purify the mind against falling victim to kaam, krodh and other vikaars. One must follow the examples of great Gursikhs of the past instead of listening to popular culture which is promoting perverted sexuality.

on a day that you did nitnem at amritwale and also sometime during the day washed your hair do ardas thanking mahraj for your hair and that you are going to sankar your hair and return them etc then gather your supplies. typically it should be done in a pyre but I don't know if this wrong but I use a steel tin and put the hair in there. I do ardas a second time and then lite the hair directly in the tin while japing nam and reciting bani after this I crush the ashes with a iron spoon and throw them in the air, though you sposed to put them in a river, and then with water I clean the tin and throw that water used for cleaning also outside rather than down the drain. I don't know if this is how you do it but that's how I do it

I think the time has come to look at things from a new/different perspective. You guys might hate me (lol, not here to find fans anyways haha) once you're done reading but I just felt like bursting the bubble. How many of you believe in (a) karma, (b) re-incarnation, © carry over of the soul's sanskaars from previous lifetimes, (d) impact of one's sangat/friend circle on one's personality/mindset/thought process, (e) impact of Western society on one's personality/mindset/thought process. If you believe in all of the above, you will also agree that (ready?) Sikhi is perhaps not for everyone. Maybe the men and women who marry non-Sikhs do not hold Sikhi as the number one priority in their life. Maybe? Perhaps? I will also agree with what Johnny veer said about raising the kid from day one in a Sikhi-based environment. However, considering point (a) to (e), you know that there is a limit to which parents can go. Non-Sikh parents don't want their non-Sikh kids to marry into Sikh families. I've come across folks who primarily avoid marrying their kids to Sikhs because of meat and alcohol being consumed at the homes of those Sikhs. Then you have the age old caste cancer that prevails. There are an equal number of reasons why they wouldn't want their kids to marry into Sikh families as many as we have to stop our kids from marrying a non-Sikh. So lets not try to always raise an alarm when we are in the same boat as them. Only difference is that Sikhs do not go out grooming underage naive girls with the intention of converting them to Sikhism. But don't tell me there was never a "Sikh" who got involved with a gori just to become pakkaa. You didn't really think all of our modern day young Sikh boys and girls were all angels now, did you? Do an ardaas to maharaj for power to jap naam, also keep this in your mind bharosa (I.e the ardaas will get done) also like mokham singh ji and skaur have said do so, if you can't read bani for long read a short one for example chaupai sahib or svaiye (sravag sudh waley) also jap gurmantar slowly in your mind, just for a second close ur eyes and jap Va-He-Gu-Ru slowly all 4 words Va He Gu Ru slowly so your mind can slow down and then keep ardaasaan up and try to get another job if possible I knw its hard but a true ardas from the heart can change the impossible to possible ji

True. If you give your children secular upbringing instead of a Sikhi based upbringing then the results will also likely be secular instead of a Sikhi based result. Right from the start, Gurbani should be an integral part of a child's life. Doing Japji Sahib before school, doing Rehras Sahib before dinner and Kirtan Sohila before bedtime should be the bare-minimum if not the full Nitnem. I know of children less than 10 who are full Nitnemis, so doing 3 Banis out of the full nitnem is not a difficult task for a child. By having Gurbani as part of the child's daily routine it builds a solid spiritual base for the rest of their lives. Even if due to bad sangat they drift away, but because they had a solid base in Sikhi as children, they will come back eventually. Besides making Gurbani as part of their daily routine, it helps greatly if a child also gets Santhia of Nitnem. Having a Sikhi based upbringing in the west is crucial. In India, at least Sikhs form a majority in Punjab. So even if they are not religious, still they will marry within the faith. But in the west that's not the case. If your child is given a liberal/secular upbringing it will come back to haunt you later when your daughter comes home one day with her boyfriend named Amar, Akbar or Anthony.

This is a common thing I see working in central London. Sikh (and Hindu) women married to white non sikh men. It's the result of liberal parenting. I doubt these girls have any love for Sikhi in the first place.

You probably stopped Amritvela because you probably expected to gain something from it. waheguru just put a veil on your mind and tested you and you fell for it too. This isn't the end. Start now with Seva and simran. Start with Seva and wash your mind with Waheguru Shabad. Just do it even though you do not want to. Just the let past go. It's gone. Stay in the present moment and if your mind wanders then bring it back through simran. And don't waste anymore time thinking about what kind of a person you were. Time is going to pass by either way. Do good deeds now and take khande di paul when you're ready. I'm telling you because I've gone through this. Give it a year. 2. 3 maybe and you will feel stupid for saying what you said above.

Khalsa Ji, Under the present circumstances, you should go for quality, rather than quantity, i.e do one Japji Sahib, with full devotion, rather than numerous repitions, with a distracted mind. I agree, all I can add is to not to force anything when doing Naam Simran, doing it with love for Vaiguruji and over time your mind starts changing naturally, you notice more the triggers to anger, greed etc, and I think that's the first step to conquering them - with Viaguriji's blessings.

I've seem families where the whole family eat meat, drink and cut their hair but one child will take Amrit and remain true to Sikhi. God has given you a brain to make decisions, and a body so you can live in this world. Whatever action you take has consequences. Your conflict will always stay the same irrespective of family because you yourself have struggled to make a decision. Your family will always struggle to accommodate your changes. It's a bit like saying you're gay - it will come as a shock, and some family members won't want to know you and some family members will be okay with it. Have you addressed why you want to cut your hair? Or why you regrew it? Your family will come and will go in this life. You might choose to live peacefully with them and keep your hair, or you might cut it again and leave. Or you might leave and then keep it still. Too many outcomes. Too many unknowns. Only God is the true knower of things. Why is your appearance so important to you? What is it about having your hair cut that appeals? Why are you so affected when your family have kept their hair? You need to look at questions like these first.

Why does Khalsa have colors? It's kind of stupid if you think about it. Didn't the gurus say "How can certain months be better than others?" in reference to auspicious events? How then can certain colors be better? God created all colors, and don't say that, "Oh he created maya, etc, too, because it's a test..." What kind of test is it to wear certain colors? I just don't get it, I might be wrong, though. Can somebody explain??
