I have been seeing a psychiatrist but I stopped because I don't like him I hate going to see him so I just stopped and I stopped taking depression pills on my own, I've stopped, took them, stopped, took them, stopped. All my problems started a month after i took Amrit, it's maya that's what. I was happy that I took it, and that all those years were a waste, I was happy and I'm still happy about it. I know right now if I ever completely stopped going to sangat or doing Simran and seva my life will be horrible to the max I need it all to survive now. Like I need to do more Simran and seva to become better. I'm not blaming my problems on my Amrit I'm just saying that my problems started after I took Amrit. I'm having problems right now because I'm not doing as much Simran, sangat, seva, Charan dhoor, ardas as I used to before. I need to focus more on guru ji and then I'll be better, I won't get affected by dukh, sukh because ill be spiritually stronger.

I agree. I'm not against anyone having different beliefs. However, misrepresentation of Sikhi shouldn't be classed as merely a 'different belief'. Ironically they purport to follow the same Guru and yet are vastly different. This makes no sense. Their as bad as the various baba dera's in India. Misrepresenting Sikhi is a serious problem. The masses sadly have no idea what Sikhi is about. It's such misunderstandings which are easily perpetuated through communities that ultimately leave the kaum being divided. A divided kaum is a weak kaum.

One should not adopt the name Khalsa as surname. But first name can be changed. The 3ho Sikhs do yoga as taught to them by Yogi Bhajan while mainstream Sikhs do not. The 3ho take a more hippy approach to Sikhi like some of them dancing, but many of them are good Sikhs too. IMO, we should not think of them but instead try to improve our own jeevan. Do your nitnem, naam simran, keep Amritvela, learn Kirtan and take Santhiya to improve your Gurbani ucharan. These are crucial in increasing your Kamayee.

Her father was a proper Sikh who was killed by Hindus in India. After he died she and her mother came to England and managed to get citizenship on the back of the fact that their lives as Sikhs were not safe in Hindu India. Vaheguru has created man and woman for each other, but humans are also suppose to live in a Maryadha that animals do not understand nor can they comprehend which is why Human form is considered the greatest of the 84 lakh joonis. Humans who are on the path to Vaheguru are not meant to follow animalistic urges. Yes some animals feel homosexual urges, but some also follow their other sexual urges and start to mate with their own offspring and siblings, should we also start to justify incest citing that animals are like this so we should do like wise? What separates us from animals is that we are not slaves of our animalistic urges. We have the ability to control and live in a Maryadha that separates us from the animals. Gurmat teaches us to japp nam, read and hear bani and follow rehit whilst controlling vikaars and animalistic urges. you are getting too hard on yoursef at this point.....it's ok "not to watch movies" if it comes from inside naturally due to high spiritaul level........but when the level comes down due to any reason....and we still try or force ourselves to follow same stuff....then it becomes hard.......becaue it's human nature when something sis forced upon us, we can do it for sometime but eventually will run too far away from it when we can't take it.......so we should give our mind some space before this situation comes in..... listening to "birr ras shabads or dharmic raps" as jasdeep singh ji mentioned is actually meant for us to get us out of these situations......coz we are the victims of maya, so some gets over by listening to slow shabads, some by fast shabads like from Bhai Joginder Singh riar..... but the state of mind never remains the same.....it keeps changing......so watching movies, or listening to songs kind of stuff (obviously not the vulgar or lustful) doesn't hurt, to relax the mind coz sometimes we push our mind too much on path etc when it's agitated..............like a spring ... the more we push it, the harder it jumps back ............ if one wants to watch movies and listen to music...but pushing it not to do it just because it's not right in sikhi.......will take one nowhwre.."na ghar da na ghaat da"........this suppressed desire will not let one follow sikhism fully.....so it's always better to get rid of desire (again not the bad ones) by fulfilling it or by doing ardas to Guru ji to get rid of it.......

My gurbani knowledge isn't deep enough to answer quoting maharaj ji but I hope someone who's is does explain why this ruling is correct. in very general terms living in grisht AND as a gurmukh means (to me anyway) living the life of a responsible householder, controlling our primal instincts (five vices) and contemplating on the shabd guru until we self-realise.. god has not designed our bodies for homosexuality, god has designed our bodies to do amongst other things procreate - whether it is black or white in bani is not therefore important to me as it is black and white in gods design for us.. what we desire/don't desire can be called natural if u like - for me desires are challenges that we must overcome if we are tread that ever so fine tight rope that leads us back to our origin in my opinion homosexuality is the same as cutting kesh (does bani say cutting kesh is wrong?), not evil - but a waste of time and accepting it as 'natural' will only waste this precious life/opportunity. hope Sarbat get their clarification and do not go against ATS sundesh (remember the countless stories of the great gursikhs that have disagreed with ATS hukams but not defied them) bhul chuk maaf karne - not my intention to offend anybody

I have always thought 3HO was okey, just a little quirky BUT... when they start raving to Gurbani... its just so wrong!!! I've seen videos where they shake their booty more than beyonce and that was whilst singing Jap Ji sahib... some of y'all might call it "lost in masti" ... whilst I think they've lost the plot! Could you imagine Punjabi Sikhs busting out full out Bhangra moves to Jap Ji Sahib? Sarbat Jee, your premise of argument is that the Akal Takht Jathadar is wrong about not accepting homosexuals doing Anandkaraj because he made some other questionable moves in the past. So what you are saying is if a person makes one wrong move they lose the right to make any correct move in the future. This is faulty reasoning. You need to support your argument based on it's own merit rather then questioning the Akal Takht Jathadar. The Akal Takht's edict on homosexuality is not based on the Jathadars opinion but based on Sikh traditions and the teachings and lifestyle of the Gurus, Bhagats, Sikhs for the last 500 years. No one is encouraging persecution of gays or saying they can't practice their lifestyle, go ahead. But why do you have to demand an Anand Karaj? by demanding that homsexuals be allowed the right to conduct an Anand Karaj you are saying Sikhs should accept violation of the Rehit Maryadha. The Anand Karaj is a very sacred ceremony between a Sikh man and Sikh woman.

Fact is that they are always FULL Sikhs in terms of amritdhari and khakkars. When you look at Punjabis, we have so many monay, women with cut and coloured hair...etc.... you can't even tell who is hindu or not !!! Sarbat Jee, homosexuality is not compatible with Sikhi. You have totally misunderstood Gurmat Sidhaants. Since the start Gurmat has always advocated Grishti jeevan between a man and woman. Humans by nature are born with all sorts of urges and weaknesses. But Gurmat teaches Sikhs not to indulge and give in to those urges and weaknesses. Sikhs are taught to adopt rehit, meditate on Naam, read/hear Gurbani whilst controlling those urges and weaknesses. Those who indulge in wordly urges and human weaknesses end up in the cycle of life and death(charasee lakh joons)

Sikhi values and gay sexuality are not compatible. If you want to be gay by all means be gay and lesbian but dont try to claim you are Sikhs and they are one and the same. If we as a community go down this road of accepting gays as Sikhs then the case can be made for other sexual abnormalities such as pedophiles and animal sex lovers... you at sarbat believe in equality for all.... then how can anyone discriminate against those abnormal and sexual deviant people? you cant unless you want to be hypocrites. Bottom line is Sikh scriptures clearly state a man marries a woman explicitly and does not state the case for man can marry a man or woman marry a woman. So case closed sarbat gay Sikhs who number probably just a dozen individuals vs 800,000 strong Sikh community making it a non-issue for Sikhs we got more imrportant issues as a community to deal with. Sarbat gays really needs to grow up and stop trying to meddle in Sikh religious matters.

The yogis do tapasiya for years on end high up in the mountains leaving behind all that they have just so that they can attain a level of peace, control over their minds, to purify their hearts. Guruji gave us Bani and Bana and Amrit. When Guruji requested Amrit from the Panj Piaray, he did Ardas that i will give you my whole family in return for 5bhuk of Amrit. All this so we today could live with our heads held high, attain mukhti by taking Amrit and living life according to our Gurujis Hukum. If you think its possible to attain mukhti without, go ahead try it. If you can clear your mind, have control over it, attain peace without Amrit, without Gurujis humuk, without Naam, CONGRATULATIONS! You've just found the shortcut to what the yogis and sadhus have been working towards for years on end. Guruji is our tenth Master, our father. His word is as true, meaningful and relevant as the word of our Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj. So whether or not Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj tells us to keep Sikhi saroop or not, our Dasam Pita does!! Secondly to that question, Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj is not a book, it is not a collection of rules, dos and donts unlike the Holy Books of say Islam, Christianity, Judaism. Guru ji is Dhur Ki Bani. The literal word of Akal Purkh Maharaaj! Pul chuk maaf ji

The message of Gurbani is to accept the Bhaana of Akaal Purakh. Anyone who does that, the least he/she will do as a start is quit dishonoring his/her hair in any way/shape/form. Gurbani is written in "chautha paad", i.e. enlightened state of consciousness. Lets not take everything literally. There are deeper meanings to what Gurbani teaches us. Please run a search on this forum. This question has been answered in huge details several times.
