  1. West London Singh and dalsingh101, I agree. She is central to this murder. This would not have occured had it not been for her manipulative character. She should have been given a punishment fitting her crime - murder. However, I'm not a legal expert. Also, I wonder what people make of the fact that thousands of pounds have been collected in his name, and yet he attempted to rape. Was that wise? Furthermore, Sikh TV closed soon after. Where has all that money that was collected gone? Who is accountable?

  3. Just came across a magazine called "Bloody 84" which advocated the cause of a Sikh homeland. It was first published in 1984 and then republished, both publications were paid for by the Guru Nanak Niskham Seva Jatha (UK). It contains images of Sikh Freedom Fighters. Interesting as this magazine sets out the case for a Sikh homeland, and outlines discrimination against Sikhs and Constitutional issues which form the basis of the Sikh protest, now as all these issues are still valid and relevant I wonder what Singhs from the Jatha think, someone is clearly wrong either the previous leadership or the current? I am just curious as to when did the mindset of the Jatha change?

  4. The title is possibly a little misleading, I'm not advertising an ebay auction (if the mods and sangat dont mind i may do shortly). Just wanted an opinion from veer n pehn ji's. I have a relative in punjab in who is a pretty brilliant artist (in my view), he sells some of his sikhi related artwork in the local town for pittance and this is generally his way of feeding the family. I was thinking of listing some of oil paintings and sketches on ebay as I'm sure if there are plenty of people like me out there that would like high quality work such his for very reasonable prices - at the same time he'll make a more comfortable living. Before I go ahead and list some of his images on ebay I wanted to know if I'm likely to face any kind of a backlash or if theres even a market for artwork? His artwork is generally of gurdware or modified reproductions of the images of guru's in the mainstream.

  5. Both were members of this forum and one of them visited this forum regularly. We as sangat of this forum failed to inspire such souls. Had we been more gurmat orientated, encouraging youth to do more bani then maybe we could have seen a different outcome today. However, whatever happens around us; bad or good, all is in the will of waheguru ji. Rather than complaining or finger pointing at each other, we should try to look ahead. Just imagine the power you have. Single post or reply of yours on any public forum can inspire someone or it can even discourage someone. Choice is yours !

  6. I agree this is happening daily now and this is no one's fault but the Sikhs who keep the saroops. They should be held responsible for the safety and security of SGGS Ji. If they cant offer 24/7 protection they shouldn't be keeping Maharaj Ji. Urgent action is required all important historical ancient saroops need to be recalled and it should be made clear anyone who keeps saroop of SGGS Ji will be held responsible for maharaj's caretake.

  7. Sikh's themselves are to blame with the printing of so many Saroops that nobody knows where they all are and their is no authority in place for the Satkaar and seva of Gurbani.

  8. Taking serious note of “forcible baptism” of school students at Dera Sacha Sauda, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today announced that it would constitute a three-member committee to probe the matter. Talking to The Tribune, SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar said a three-member panel led by the SGPC member from Mansa, Mohan Singh Bangi, would look into the matter and submit a report. As many as 49 students of Gobind Singh Adarsh Senior Secondary School at Sahnewala village in Mansa district were reportedly taken to Dera Sacha Sauda on February 19. They were allegedly made to drink “Jaam-e-Insan” at the dera, symbolising their “conversion”. Makkar said the SGPC would file a police complaint if the report corroborated the charges against the school authorities. Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh demanded stringent action against the school management, maintaining that a police case should be registered in this regard. Former SGPC secretary Manjit Singh Calcutta also demanded that a police case be registered against the school management. He said the school should be boycotted by one and all. “An apology from the school principal will not suffice and a case should be registered against her,” he said, emphasising that the Akal Takht had issued an edict directing the Sikhs not to keep any ties with the controversial dera. “However, with the Shiromani Akali Dal turning a blind eye, the emboldened school authorities had the audacity to forcibly take the students to the dera,” he remarked. A Dal Khalsa leader said the principal should be removed from the post and a case be registered against her for hurting the religious sentiments of Sikhs in general and the students' parents in particular. He said the state government should issue a circular, prohibiting school principals/teachers from taking the students to any dera. An Akal Takht edict in 2007 had asked the Sikhs to sever all ties with Dera Sacha Sauda. The edict was issued when the dera head did not appear before the Akal Takht. He had been summoned for the “sacrilegious act of dressing up like the Tenth Sikh Guru.”

  9. I wanted to refute claims by some members that he didn't attempt to rape her. Both sides were wrong and both sides have paid a price, sadly, one with his life. I have great sympathy for his family that is left behind, they certainly didn't ask for any of this. No body deserves to die in this way. May his soul rest in peace.

  10. Khalsa Ji Anand is very difficult to describe in terms of words. Imagine the following scenario: A young child , who cannot yet speak , is given something very pleasant to eat. Then the child is asked to describe the taste. The only indications available would be the child's smile , glowing face , and self satisfaction since the child does not have the ability to describe it verbally. The state of Anand is similar to that. With regards to spiritual phall , one will feel increased self confidence. The mann becomes more focused. The mann's desires will begin to be fulfilled automatically {ridh sidh}. Life generally will become more blissful. One will feel closer to Sat chit Anand Ishvar {eternal bliss}.

  12. I partly agree with what someone said about him not being the "great Gursikh" he, and other people, made him out to be. Rumors were rife about Gagan WAY before his murder. But that doesn't mean he was necessarily a bad Sikh or a bad person. He just made some errors in judgement... who hasn't made errors in judgement in their own lives? He tried to apologize and make up for his mistake with the person that was directly involved, bombarding her with apologetic phone calls and SMS messages. His biggest mistake was trusting her. But pre-planned murder? That, to me, does not constitute as an "error in judgement". That is just pure evil.

  14. Day and Night News: Hand-Written copy of Guru Granth Sahib recovered Three persons have been arrested by the Delhi Police for trying to sell off an old, hand-written copy of the Guru Granth Sahib for Rs 20 crore. The accused have been identified as Praveen Babbar, who owns a hotel in Karol Bagh; Santosh Singh from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh; and Kalyaneshwar Gautam from West Champaran in Bihar. The accused told cops that the copy of the Guru Granth Sahib was 300 years old and they had procured it at Patna Sahib Gurudwara. A police team has been sent to Bihar to investigate the matter, while expert opinion has been sought to find out the historicity of the holy book. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKoGdod52UM&feature=player_embedded ================================================================= How was this puratan (old) bir of sri Guru Granth Sahib 'procured' from sri Patna Sahib Gurdwara? The SGPC should conduct an investigation into this incident and also set up a team dedicated to preserving puratan bir's of sri Guru Granth Sahib. Satguru Mehar Karan.

  15. Vandalism is not the reason the Gurdwara is being closed down. The $2 million debt is the reason.

  16. Mod's can this thread please be pinned. Khalsa ji this is the wisdom Sant ji gave to the Khalsa Panth. Many brothers and sisters have slandered, laughed at, referred to as Taliban, extremist, fanatics, terrorist to those brothers and sisters that tell you not to perform these actions. No need to name members as everyone knows where they stood when the insults were being said. But now it's not some random member on this forum telling you not to commit these acts. It's Sant Baba Jarnail SIngh ji Khalsa, who everyone in the Panth has utmost respect for. If you want to pay your respects to Sant ji then listen to his words carefully and follow them. Sant ji spoke Gurmat and acted in Gurmat.
