A common thing which genuinely arises when its summer is how can Amritdhari girls who have their head covered and do not remove hair look pretty? I know a lot of the sangat is going to say we don't need to look pretty etc but being a girl - it is important to look good. I have many Sikh friends and I've noticed a lot of them feel the same way ... I remember reading somewhere that when looking pretty hair generally play a big role but many amritdhari girls cover their head (maybe dastar or patka) we don't shape our eyebrows or wear makeup Don't misunderstand me and think I am complaining, this is all good stuff that we do but the question is, …

SSA Everybody, I am a gursikh software professional working in London.I was wondering if there is any place in gurudwara's that take care of sikh matrimony services over here.I am on Tier1 VISA and prefer a girl from Indian origin working here like me. I went to INDIA for the sake of getting married last year and I spent 5 months before I got engaged to a girl.I came back over here and my ROKA was broken because of some unknown reasons.I went in Nov last month and I have realised it is too difficult to handle this part from here.I am thinking to go back again in Janurary for some more time to find a girl.I am simply tired and upset with all this.I don't need sympathy on…

I have been noticing a recent trend among sikh girls to marry outside religion. This is making me very sad as I do not understand what are sikh men missing that girls are not even looking at them. This is really disheartening as even my cousin sisters decided to marry hindus. I don't mean hindus are bad, but if you were born into a religion gifted to you by your parents and god why not follow it and have a life partner from the same religion. Whenever I see a sikh girl marrying outside I feel like slapping myself and sometime cry as why has our religion become so weak. What could be done to solve this? This will definitely become a bigger issue in the community going for…

WJKK WJKF I am a Sikh guy from Delhi. I want to ask a question about Sikh girls, virginity and sex before marriage. But first, I want to tell you about what has driven me to come here and ask this question. I used to like a girl in the final year of my school. She used to like me too. We used to blush a lot while talking to each other and We used to talk to each other a lot. We told each other about our feelings and felt good about it. Later we went to different colleges. One day there was a cultural event in her college, I came to know of it from my friends in that college, and thought I should surprise her. I went there with my friends and saw her with some …

Sikh History

There is alot of controversy surrounding the amount of evidence we have for our history such as the encounters between our Gurus and the Mughals. Do we have any proof of these encounters such as the Gurus being tortured by the Mughals upon Aurangzebs request. Obviously as a Sikh i believe it but the claims that the history may have been altered along the way due to over exaggeration may be valid too if there is a lack of evidence.

Okay, I am writing a paper on Sikh identity (finally almost done after 8 months). My research question is: to what extent does the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee's definition of sikh identity affect Sehajdhari and Amritdhari Sikhs? I want to know how you were discriminated against for being sehajdhari sikhs compared to an amritdhari SIkhs. Maybe some incident where you weren't allowed to do something that Amritdhari sikhs could do simply because your sehajdhari, maybe the opposite. For instance, i talked about in my paper how sehajdhari sikhs are not allowed to vote in SGPC elections. I also talked about how some specific students in punjab were denied admi…

WGK-WGF I wanted know if Sikh guys are allowed to participate in the UFC and if there are any famous fighters. I think it'll be a good way to revive our warrior ancestry and good example to future generations? The sullehs are always involved with martial arts/boxing and they are always promoting their religion in the world stage. If they can, why can't we do it.. is there any UFC laws to say Sikhs/religious observing people cant? Even that muzlim russian guy, kept saying allah this and allah that on the event press conference. What you guys think?
