difference Gurbani Paath is NOT enough

Reading gurbani doing Paath is not enough. This is not my own opinion. Gurbani clearly tells us: ਪੜਿਐ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਗਿਆਨੀਆ ਜਾਇ।।੧।। ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਥਾਕੇ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਆਈ।। And we can see this in many aspects. So many many people pray every day but still carry worries ,hate and anger in their minds. Why have I seen here many posts about amritdhaaris who are unhappy, have anxiety? No one!!! talks about Simran. Yes gurbani is wonderful and powerful. But if one only reads it, and only takes that giaan but doesn't do abhyaas kmai, simran it's just more ego. There's a big difference between reading gurbani and doing naam Simran meditation. There is…

Is everything we go through in life result of our own actions/karma or can there be other factors involved. I have been going through tough time and wonder what have I done in my past life to deserve this.

hi. i am new to sikhi and i going over the rehat maryada, i still have few questions about amritdhari living, hoping i could ask. 1) i've read it is mandatory to do cold bath in the mornings? is that true or do warm showers work? 2) during bathing, ive also read that you need to keep your head covered with a cloth until you wash your hair and then tie it again as soon as the soap is out. i'm confused on this, is it mandatory? what does it mean? how does the hair dry? 3) do you have to wash with soap everyday, or soap in main parts, and water on rest work? 4) as someone who has heavy and curly hair, it takes a long time to manage and dry. do…

Male, married for 10 years to my Wife, who I met via a relative for 6months prior to settling down. 3 young children, 2, 4 and 6. Hard working, respectful, strong minded, commited and reliable. Coming into the 10th year of being married, finding that my Wife had taken a keen interest in another male that she meets regularly at the gym. I thought I have my Wife everything, including, comfort, love, stability, emotional and physical support, yet she felt the need to pursue interest in another male, half my age, of an English, white background. I graft hard and look after myself, both physically and mentally, but since my wife's relationship with this younger male developed …

I’m not sure where to start or where to begin. I am due to get married and live together with my partner soon. I have recently lost my job. I have been praying to Waheguru all week to help me but nothing has helped. In fact I don’t know why this is happening. I have prayed to Waheguru on a daily and wished him to help me but I just feel like it has gone in the opposite direction. I have spoken to my partner and she has reassured me that things will get better but I just don’t want to be here anymore. I feel so hopeless. Everyday I chant Waheguru to myself through the day weather I’m leaving to go somewhere to I’m about to do something. Why a…

I got married recently, which was an arranged marriage through a common sangat of gursikhs. Few days into marriage I came to know that my spouse is sufffering from psychosis which was not revealed to me before marriage. It was a major setback for me that a gursikh amritdhari family would do a treacherous act like this. The condition is of such a severity that it impacts all spheres of my life including spiritual. As family not willing for proper approved treatment of the condition. I have following questions related to my current situation 1. If we have done lavaan and parkash of GURU maharaj was there , is it justified to proceed towards seperation keeping…
