this is not a good thing for an amritdhari to say but hanji: me and another singh are very close now and we want to take it to a dating level. someone told me it is wrong and i always thought it was wrong but then how do you get married? i will of course leave that to guruji but logically you have to know the guy first! we are both amritdhari. we are 18/19 so not to young and not to old. i plan on getting engaged aroung 21 so this is a good age i think. but i do not want to dissapoint my guru. could i get some input and sangat jeee please dont run around the bush and judge. there is no space for retarded comments. jus give a st8 answer in which this low person can under…

vjkk vjkf! sangat jeeo, im taking amrit soon and i am seriously thinking of the dastaar. But i was going to start with the patka for many reasons. A dastaar carries many responsibilites as in you are now respresenting so you have to be perfect ..kinda. i think i should wait for it maybe a couple of months. but now i was think of the patka becuase it accomplishes keeping your head covered and it would be less of a shock for my family memebers and stuff. My dad is also against dastaar in a way so i thought a patka would like cool him down at first and then slpwly. so my question here is is it okay to wear a patka? any advice ?

Shiv Sena splits; North Indian leaders resign New Delhi (PTI): The Shiv Sena on Wednesday split, with the outfit's North Indian leaders resigning en-masse protesting its "outrageous conduct" towards non-Marathis in Maharashtra and announcing they would form a separate party. "Shiv Sena is no different from Khalistan and Jammu and Kashmir militant groups which are trying to create a rift between people along regional lines. The main aim of these forces is to split our country," Shiv Sena's North India chief Jai Bhagwan Goyal told reporters here today. "The outrageous conduct of Shiv Sena towards non-Marathis and North Indians in Maharashtra has deeply hurt the sentiment…

I've noticed that there is many Amritdhari Singhs and Singhnis who have relationships with each other. Is this right? I am an amritdhari Singh and this Amritdhari Singhni asked me out many times but I think it isn't a right thing to do. One excuse she makes is that I bring her closer to Sikhi and I just don't know anymore I am so confused.

Two choices....respecting and following wishes of family or following what you know is the right way to go. How does one handle this situation. Do you follow the respectful wishes of your family? Do you ignore what you know or 'feel' is right? Do you ignore your family? From a Sikhi point of view, I would imagine that the family options is always right. But how does one deal with choosing the latter...and ignoring the family? How do you deal with those emotions and how do you accept the pain and sorry you may be causing them? I've kept this quite open so it would apply to many situations, I guess the most obvious with be Amrit...but perhaps lets consider other optio…

i am expecting a baby to a 36 yr old sikh man in august and he chose to have nothing to to with me when i told him I couldnt go through with a termination I am a 39yr old white christian woman but have been told that his family would not take the news very well and that his decision to walk away without trace has to to with the fact that his family woul be ashamed. Im left heartbroken as I love this man very much. I respect people of all faiths and find it hard to accept that him dating a white woman is ok, just not having children with her. anyone any advice? apart from searching the streets of Derby to find him
