It will be my very first time to Florida or anywhere in the US for that matter. I have no family as well. Very nervous because of the increased racial tensions with Sikhs who wear Dastars and beards, in the US. Myself I tie a “Ghol” one. I would like to know is it safe for Sikhs? What should I be aware of? Should I be avoiding anything? Where is the closets Gurdwara to Disney? Any Disneyworld advice? I will be traveling to Disneyworld with my family If there is anything else you can add from your experiences. I would greatly appreciate anyone’s help and advice!

WJKK WJKF I have been putting off for the last 3yrs travelling to my company head office in France due to the ban of the Dastar in schools etc. Now, i need to go as i must work with a colleague on a big project and working my phone / email and video conference is not sufficient. I am waiting for approval of my travel but wanted to know if anyone has travelled recently and had any problems with dastar at the airport etc. If you could reply asap, it would be much apprecaited. Thanks. WJKK WJKF

WJKK WJKF I'm travelling to New York for the 1st time since Sept 11th tomorrow, and I'm a dastaar wearing Singhni. I've heard of stories where the airport security/police have asked Sikhs to remove their turban. Now I know in the UK I can refuse and the police here can't make me do so. But I was wondering if I was asked to remove my dastaar in JFK can I refuse? Also I'm travelling on my own so knowing the answer will give me some peace of mind. Sorry if the above does not make sense. I've rushed the post.

WJKK WJKF I have a question for the sangat. I have been asked to go to our head office in France to complete some work but i am concious about travelling due to the dastar issues at airports etc. I was wondering how the Singhs travelled to France for the smagam end of last year and did they encounter any problems? My options are to travel by plane, eurostar or via car using the channel tunnel and i want to know which is the most hassle free and will allow me the freedom to travel without issues of kirpan and dastar. Hopefully someone will be able to reply. WJKK WJKF

WJKK WJKF. Does any use Chandigarh Airport as oppose to Amritsar? Having used Turkmenistan airlines for 8 years which lands at Amritsar, I feel it's time for a change. Turkmenistan service and on flight entertainment is below average for what you pay. The whole experience is bog standard. Done some research and I noticed Virgin goes to dehli and u can get an internal fight to chandigarh 2hours after landing. What route do you take anyone used Qatar that goes to Amritsar? Anyone use Chandigarh?

But, I am curious or more to know about the experiences or the issues and the ways to avoid confrontations that every baptised sikh face at security checkpoint in places like AIRPORTs, Federal/Government building(s) and etc... Everyone here is religiously knowledgeable and socially smart and I believe I would learn alot. I don't really know how to react if am wearing a Kirpaan and at the security checkpoint I…

To All The Sikh Sangat, This is my first posting since I announced the Quest For Freedom DVD. And I would like to say that it is an absolute travesty and injustice that this site decided to delete the Saint Soldier section due to the Bolan controversy. Due to the wrong comments of 1 person, people like myself who enjoyed logging on everyday and reading the postings in this section are now denied access to this section. We say we want Khalistan, but I hate to say that such actions as this will never get us there. To the Admin, monitor comments more closely, but you should not have killed a fly with a hammer. God only knows how we will achieve Khalistan when we are to…

VJKK VJKF Sangat Ji, I just found a book a few minutes ago where I'd been writing Vaheguru in Gurmukhi and there's many, many pages of it. It's a lined paper notebook with only gurmantar in it. My room is the highest in the whole house but I know that means nothing in terms of the satkaar I should give bani. Please tell daas what to do with the book Ji. I don't want to burn the book but if I can't keep it properly I understand that I'll have to burn it. Maaf karna Ji - the only thing I can think of it is to burn the book but I start to well up every time I flick through the pages and see the bani and I am so in love with the gurmantar I don't want to burn it but I un…

NEW DELHI (July 17, 2014)—Hospital treatment of Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara, who is imprisoned at the Tihar Jail in New Delhi, has once again been delayed. He was brought to the hospital on a stretcher at 7 AM earlier today. Doctors referred him for some tests, and prescribed medicines. No formal tests were carried out, and he was asked to come back on July 30, despite the pain being severe and critical. Upon returning to the Tihar Jail, Bhai Hawara complained about the visit to the hospital being a waste of time. He asked that these recommendations could have been made at the jail itself. He asked why the doctors refused to see him, despite the court orders. The…

Trees are living being right... They breathe, drink and go through born/die process. BUT do they have soul? When we say Chrassey Lakh Joon... is one joon consider to be tree joon? I was having discussion with someone and my mind agreed that trees do not have soul.. don't know why but now i say 50% yes and 50% no.. :umm: @ Soul? They suppose to be moving right like us and animals etc.. ? Trees do not move on their own.. Even if we say that trees do have soul.. then it means that trees are the only one who has soul but can't move.. aight i gotta stop thinking now lol... what ya guys think?
