It is always particularly disturbing for me to see a sikh go to any other religious place except a gurudwara . I don't wish to sound fanatic , but the way some (or many?) sikhs go to hindu mandirs , esp durga is particularly disturbing. When you have contact with CEO , would you butter a manager ? nopes. when our guru showed us the path to true parbrahm waheguru , then why do we go to the hindu devi devte who're mere creations of waheguru ji . You would never see a muslim or christian or even a buddhist visit a hindu mandir ? why then it is our sikhs who go and bow to the idols of durga in mandirs when Guru Gobind Singh ji in his zaffarnama clearly stated …

Sikhs have been complacent to allow ex sikhs, people explicitly stating they do not believe or follow the faith, in the quota for jobs in the media, especially BBC.How are we going to get our issues on the agenda, if we we dont have no sikhs in the game.I have been lobbying the BBC ,about this lack of representation.Asian network has no sikh presenters in any form, forget a turban wearing sikh. All the presenters are ex sikhs, jumping on the bandwagon to get the job s, later stating they are atheist. Wake up sikhs, 10000 sikhs pay for a tv licence, we want represntation .The sikh media should be highlighting these issues too. A sikh = person who states he is a sikh …

As the question in the title states, what's the reason? Considering that both countries have roughly the same population (Canada does have a slight edge on the UK), why aren't we seeing as many Sikh politicians in the UK as we do in Canada?

What we already know is now so official even the Hindus can't deny it although the India loving Sikhs will still erase it from their mind. Some of them (India supporting Sikhs) still hang on to outdated notions of the position of a Sikh, not realising what the reality actually is. For example, they often like to quote these 3 misconcptions: Misconception: Punjab is the richest state in India. We're doing great there. Fact: Punjab stopped being the richest state in India many many years ago. Over the last 5 or 6 years it has been slipping lower and lower at an alarming rate and is now at a danger of slipping into the lower half of the table. Misconception:…

Understand....Think....Reflect We ask ourselves why bad things happen in this world......and most of time we have no answers.....we look to reasoning and understanding and to the one teacher that always gives us the right answer...Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.....who tells us....that Waheguru firstly puts us through pain to give us peace in the end. Bad things happen and the world goes through the pain.....What do we do as Sikhs to put ourselves at peace.....we remember WAHEGURU.....and ask for "SARBAT DA PALAH" - "Have mercy on the world" BUT truthfully asking ourselves, how many times have we WHOLE HEARTEDLY said in our Ardaas "SARBAT DA PALAH", before asking for Naam, B…

There have been many instances outside punjab where we as a sikhs have gotten confused with this issue and probably have found ourselves in disrespecting many of the gurmat traditions pertaining to this topic. How would you justify such actions?

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru ji Ki Fteh| I have a question for some gursikh brother/sisters. This question has been hitting my mimd for quite some time. Today while watching videos I came across different sikhs debting on issues like raag mala, meat, dasm granth etc. Why is it that the sikh panth is so confused about such things and keep debating. High level Gursikhs from taaksaal would belive in raag maala whereas gursikhs from AKJ would not? If they have reached a certain level should they not be able to tell what has been writen by Guru ji and what has not?

WJK WJKF I am sorry,I am starting my association with this website by having to write about several unfortunate incidents I witnessed whilst attending what I thought would be a friendly 20twenty semi final at Nottingham Cricket ground. Whilst attending the said event, I was simply astounded by the amount of racism levied at SIKHS by the majority PAKISTANI fans in attendance. The behaviour exeplified by these, I'm sorry to say, "fans" would not look out of place during a Millwall football match in the 1980's. Examples inc : 1. A SIKH waiting in the queue for fish n chips was told by a Pakistani fan draped in the Pakistani flag " take that rag of yer head or we'll ri…
