Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh Can Gursikhs please do vichaar on the Panj Kalishas? These are the five causes of worry/distress. Not sure if that's the right word. Yes, I'm feeling low. They are Avididha, Raag, Dvaikh, Asaamita and Abhinivesh. What are they and how can we over come them? What are some practical steps? *To the Gurmukhs who will come and post do abhiyaas (you're one hundred percent right) many thanks for your contribution but looking to explore these Panj Kalishas from both a spiritual and academic angle* Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh

http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/1970s-us-cable-also-referred-to-indira-gandhi-s-congress-as-beehive-351823?pfrom=home-lateststories 1970s US cable also referred to Indira Gandhi's Congress as beehive New Delhi: Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi's analogy last week to India as a beehive created much buzz. Critics said they were baffled by the comparison, supporters said the 43-year-old had made a deft illustration of a country brimming with energy and activity. A less flattering use of the beehive was made by opponents of Mr Gandhi's grandmother, Indira, in the 70s. A cable from US diplomats in India to their home office in 1973, refers to a conclave of the oppo…

According to some reports, Baba Baljeet Singh Dadduwal was arrested yesterday. Don’t know on what charges. However the back ground of the situation is this. For many years Baba Baljeet Singh and his group have been doing langer seva and holding a diwan/parcharchar in Talwandi Sabo (Takht DamDama Sahib) on Vaisakhi day. The area around Takht Damdama Sahib where smagams or conferences are held is under the SGPC management. And the SGPC make the allotment of venue for any celebration or event that may take place in that area. This year the SGPC refused to give him any space to do that. But, instead SGPC has deployed its task force to prevent him from doing any thing of t…

April 9, 2013 by princeofpunjab Source: princeofpunjab.blogspot.com Vasakhi....its ringing, will you answer the call? Monday, April 08, 2013: The truth is often bitter, so to escape it we deny, we dodge and we duck. Yet at some point there is nowhere to hide and you are left standing face to face with the reality. All that time that was wasted in trying to deny the obvious then starts stinging as missed opportunities to change, to update, or fix what we were running from. They say sometimes experience is required to understand, however we have hardened ourselves so much that even experience rolls off of us like water on oil. Vasakhi is the most prest…

Despite having existed for almost 300 years, in their present forms, there are still many aspects of Akali history which remain to be uncovered by the panth. Their extensive contributions to the panth in blood, as well as saintliness has spread the shade of Guru Nanak's tree far and wide. Many individuals amongst their ranks have passed into and retain lofty positions in the Sikh mainstream's psyche, unfortunately however the fact that they were Akalis has easily been hidden and/or forgotten to target the Guru' legions with lies and fallacies. Not only are these lies detrimental to the panth at large, but will also (and in an ironic twist) succeed in doing what the mughal…

Recently went to India because of a family bereavement. Whilst there, took the opportunity to go to Darbar Sahib. I last went ten years ago. Despite being there at 8 in the morning, it was very busy. Seem to be doing lots of work at the front. Seems you can't take photos whilst in Darbar Sahib. I understand in the main hall with Guru maharaj but we have in the past taken photos whilst upstairs at the top. We weren't allowed to do this. Also you could obtain a saropa from maharaj but now you have to go somewhere else and buy it? Around the complex, there are lots of inscriptions, many of which relate to declaration of xyz donated this much to the Darbar Sahib. Is thi…

Please review the film with top scores. As we know this is the largest and most respected movie database in the world. By scoring the film well, we can highlight the film to movie buffs worldwide and their eyes will open to the injustices faced by Sikhs. Apologies if this has been posted previously.

An interesting question which popped in my head after seeing the below picture, do we have any pictures of our Gurus which are historical and from a Sikh perspective? It seems pictures made by other non-Sikh individuals are now being used to eradicate the uniqueness of Sikhi. Heres an example. This is what I am talking about.
