Since most of you know me personally and most of you know that i am from california and i have website sikhpride.com and so on… There are many people whom i know a lil bit, but the funny thing is that yesterday i considered them my best friends or my best posters on Sikhsangat.com, recently they are calling me, emailing me, pm'ing me with vulgar language and attacking my family verbally, I have to pull my personal family website off the server (http://www.vickysingh.us). I would like to share with u how i see several things in my views. In my life both on cyber and in reality i met people who say right in your face. "You tie your beard, you are not sikh. You gel your bea…

Waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, imagine the possibility of issues affecting Sikhs and our Panth regularly discussed at the UK Houses of Parliament. Even better the possibility of a Khalsa Singhni asking these questions. Today this could be come a real possibility. The UK elections are coming up and in Heston, Bibi Satnam kaur is standing the Liberal democrats as their candidate for MP. Most people are now familiar with Bibi ji and her husband Bhai Harjinder singh. They need help to distribute leaflets, and spread their message in the Heston area which is heavily dominated by Punjabis. In UK there has been very good seva done by groups like Sikh F…

What is the meaning of "Guru" in Sikhi? What does Guru mean to you? Historians say that Guru Gobind Singh Ji was "killed" by two Muslims. Did He really die? Was Guru Ji a simple human being? please post your thoughts.

I wanted to adress sangat for a minute, and hopefully this won't be deleted. At least not right away. Alot of people are upset about the recent changes, but why should they be? This forum isn't defined by the mods, admins, or network, this forum is defined by the sangat that visit it regularly. I hope that somehow everyone finds their way back to this forum and begins posting at a normal rate now. This new neutrality thing, I'm looking at it as a chance to expand. We as a sangat can start to make true improvements upon ourselves as a sangat. This shouldn't be something to be grieved over for too long. What's done is done, but what's happening now is what's important. I gu…

Gurfateh!! The last thread titled "Why the change?" seemed to go in the same direction as many previous threads, over recent weeks have, and thats with personal attacks, sarcasm and just plain old bickering!! Over recent days there have been a few threads on quality of the forum and a poll even set up by the Admins, i voted that the quality on this site was average, if i was to vote again i would say that it is poor. Now i am seeing members of a higher levels engage in personal attacks and each one trying to cover their backs by apologising to Khalsa Ji and blaming the other. This is totally unacceptable. Whatever the issue it needs to be discussed in a far more civil…

http://www.kayataran.com/ On October 31, 1984, Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards. Over the next few days several hundred Sikh men, women and children were killed in Delhi and other places in northern India. On February 27, 2002, a coach of the Sabarmati Express was set on fire at Godhra railway station in Gujarat, killing 58 Hindu pilgrims. Over the next two months several hundred men, women and children were killed in retaliatory anti-Muslim riots in the state. 'Kaya Taran' (Chrysalis) is set against the backdrop of the two riots, but does not frontally engage with either. It is a distanced look at the dilemma of nurturing one's identity in a multi…

Everybody is interested in a SikhSangat Conference. There are a few things we all know, like it should follow GURMAT and it should be international because the sangat is international. But the reason I have said "samelan" is because this is an idea they have in SouthEast Asia - Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore - of "Samelans" It's like a camp, samagam and conference in One. Samelan means "A meeting" or "A Get together." Now the sangat should decide where and when. once we make this decision then we can get the ball rolling !! woohoo i am soooooo excited :T:
