Following are some beautiful words of Dhan Guru Baba Nanak Dev Maharaj, in Raag Maajh, conveying us the basic truths of Gurmat : ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ Guramathee Aap Gavaae Naam Dhhiaaeeai गुरमती आपु गवाइ नामु धिआईऐ Through the Guru's Teachings, eliminate ego, by meditating on Naam. ਦੂਜੀ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਗਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਈਐ Dhoojee Kaarai Lag Janam Gavaaeeai दूजी कारै लगि जनमु गवाईऐ Undertaking any other task, they waste their lives in vain. Raag Maajh, Guru Nanak Dev With the first line, Guru Sahiban is telling us that, through Gurmat, we can eliminate our ego, our haume, our bondages, our attachments with this mayavee and perishable creation, which so much we love;…

My friend wants to ask what precautions and maryadas should be followed while doing a sehaj paath in a personal room from Sechni Sahib. I am not sure if senchi sahib is an appropriate word an by that I mean the 2 poothi sahib of Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj. Can someone write in details how to start and how the both Poothis should be kept and where. I remembered once someone did sehaj paath from Senchies and later someone said it is not counted as a sehej paath because it is not directly done from Guru Granth Sahib ji's pavan Swarrop. I am so confused.

The above is from the "Pass this on" thread. Why do you people still think that Ramgrahia Misl is a caste??Why are you so lacking in the intelligence department?Again and again I see poeple accusing Ramgarhia Misl of being a jaat. Now, I am sick and tired of this. If you want to know what Ramgarhia Misl is then go here: http://<banned site filter activated>/postgurus/R...m%20Sardars.htm That is if you want to know. Some of you I reckon would still want to wallow in your utter ignorance of Sikh history. Did you know that in the Ramgarhia Misl you get: Tarkhan, Jatt, Lohar, Khatri jaat? Misl = alliance/confederacy Understand now??Or is it too hard for you? :T:

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh !! This post is dedicated to all those Sikhs who have and contine to maintain their Kesh and Dastaar with pride regardless of any obstacle. One of the many challenges that face Sikhs is the hostility many of us face on a daily basis towards our turbans. Sikh parents face the challenge of nuturing and protecting their children from the sometimes very violent reaction our turbans and kesh receive at schools. Sikh children face very real and difficult problems at school - which impact on their self esteem and quality of life. Sikh Parents need to be aware of the challenges children with Kesh face at school and take proactive ste…

what is kalki avtar? Which other scriptures talk about kalki avtar? Is the truth in Dasam Granth Sahib different from other religious scriptures? like vedas or koran? Why would an avatar come after Partakh Parmatama ( THE TRUE GOD WAHEGURU) already took avatar as GURU NANAK DEV JI and still here as GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI? Some research I have done about kalli avtar shows that muslim believe that Mohammad was the kalki avtar, I found this source where this Pundit Vedaprakash Upadhyai, a Hindu Professor, claims that the description of the “AVATAR” found in the Holy Books of the Hindu religion, matches the Holy Prophet Muhammed source: http://www.makepakistanbetter.com/why…

What your about to read is 100% true. I have proof to support my claim. Bascically, many gurdwaras nowadays have a matrimonial service which is supposed to help Sikhs find a partner for marraige. The Gurdwara recently held a "Mix N Mingle" event which was held at Days hotel in Ruislip. Ok here's the thing, there were Hindu guys and girls there. Have Sikhs in general lost the plot? Im my opinion the answer would be a resounding Yes. You may argue that there are plenty of Sikh/Hindu dating events organised where any1 can attend if they purchase a ticket. However, these events are organised by people who are making money from a business. The Sikhs who attend these events a…

MARRIAGES OF SAHIB SHRI HARGOBIND SAHIB JI The Sixth Guru Nanak,Guru Hargobind Sahuib Ji is said to have three wives according to history. These were Mata Damodhri Ji, Mata Nanaki Ji, Mata Mahadevi Ji.The Sikh Gurus who preceded him had only one wife. Some historians have suggested Guru Arjan Dev Ji had two wives but if we look closely we find that Guru Arjan Dev’s wife was known by two names. Guru Hargobind Sahib, the destroyer of the wicked,is confirmed to have had 3 wives.Guru Hargobind Sahib’s first marriage was to Mata Damodhri Ji . Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha in his works “Gur Shabad RACHTNAKR MAHAN KOSH writes that Mata Damodhri Ji was born at village Dulla which is near…

Fatehi Jio Im Not Trying To Offend Anyone But This Needs To Be Raised Up! On Facebook I Have Found A Group Called ''AKJ have taken the nihang bana''. Its NOT Nihang Bana Its Guru Ji's Bana Just To Clarify To Everyone. This Group Is Saying AKJ Have Taken Nihang Bana And This Is Not True! The Group Also Says About AKJ's Dastar! It Is Posted On This Group: The Bana was given to us by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. During Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Guruship, the Moghals were persecuting all those who didn't follow their religion. Some Sikhs were hiding their identity and denying their relationship with the Guru. When a Sikh wears a Bana, they are representing the Guru and they can…

This is the full, basic Nitnem in Gurmukhi with an English translation. All the Banis are in line with the prescribed minimum by DDT. The Gutka Sahib includes the 7 daily banis, ardass, rakhya lei shabads, and a fair size selection of additional shabads. It's formatted for the Sony ebook reader, but this should work just fine on Kindle or any other ebook reader as well. Admins, please make this a sticky. Sampooran Nitnem Gutka.pdf

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Guru Roop Sangat Jeo, Below is an attempted translation of Sirdar Kapur Singh Ji's article on the story of Roop Kaur (21st Charitar) as found in Charitropakhyan. In it, Sirdar Sahib aptly refutes the claims of modern scholars that the male protagonist of this Charitar is Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself. It is a tight slap on the faces of all the Gurnindaks out there! A benti in your feet - please do read the whole article, even if you find the translation difficult to read, as im sure we will learn a thing or two from it. You can also download this article for Parchaar purposes from my Scribd account. Ok, read on jeo Dhanva…
