Guru Nanak whilst on his many travels with his companion Mardana was walking through the depths of a dark jungle. Mardana was tired and asked his Guru,'Lord we have been marching through these wilds for many days. Do you not think that it is time to return to the civilised surroundings of a town or village where we may sleep in a bed with soft pillows?' Guru Nanak smiled at Mardana and said,'Even jungles can be more civilised than town and villages if the name of God is recited and remembered with all your heart.' After showing Mardana the inner realities of the jungle and the inner gifts that lie there it was now the turn of the towns and villages and to reveal what la…

I am going share an experience. Today i was listening to chopai sahib very carefully, at the verse before the verses in which date, place is mentioned in the end...i got a very strong shiver in me. I felt all my hairs of body were so much in energy. I felt extreme energy in me (without any reason). I was dumb struck.i got water in my eyes.i can still feel a shivering not of fear but of something xtra ordinary.it was brilliant & still is. The only word from my mouth in shaken voice came out after getting normal was - " waheguru, waheguru, dhan dhan guru gobind singh sahib " every inch of it is true. It was just about half an hour ago. No words for the feeling which i…

Been two weeks and read first 100 verses of Charitrpakyaan. It's poetic. It's also interesting and will make one thing "Damn! did women / men really fool the opposite gender like that?" we're talking unbelievable lies, women lying at point blank range and their husbands fall for it, how women used charitrs (mainly words) to get out of sticky situations. And... the husband (mainly kings) fall for it! Makes one think "OH! COME ON! U just caught her in that position- what u mean u believe her?" HOWEVER! Grasping this Bani makes one think... are we following in these steps? how many times have we used Charitrs? (lie, deceit and make a flimsy excuse), then who fall…

The truth is i do ardaas all the time, i always say thankyou in my own crummy way, but i don't know how to do it @ the gurdwara for a happy b-day, or someone's birth, or any other occassion. Could somene help me out with some proper lines to say, so i can revise them, many many thanks! WJKK WJKF

A woman of Beauty works out everyday to keep her body in shape But a Daughter of the Khalsa looks deep inside to keep her soul in shape A Powerful woman isn’t afraid of anything But a Daughter of the Khalsa shows courage in the midst of her fear A Outspoken woman won’t let anyone get the best of her But a Daughter of the Khalsa gives the best of her to everyone A Tough woman makes mistakes, And avoids the same in the future But a Daughter of the Khalsa realizes life’s mistakes can also be Blessings and capitalizes on them A Successful woman walks sure footedly But a Daughter of the Khalsa knows when to ask for help A Rich woman wears the look of confidence on he…

WaheGuru Ji Ka Khalsa WaheGuru Ji Ki Fateh, I had post this story in the topic "What I think about Khalistan" but its gone now so it taught that i should post it again. I just post it to give the Singhs (and me ofcourse!) inspiration to live and try to live as True Singhs. And to give a feeling how our brothers lived during the 80s and 90s in our Punjab. The story of a Singh who lived through unbearable torture and even escaped his execution in a "fake encounter" (long, but worthwhile to read) Statement of Mr. Surinder Singh Fauji before the District Session Judge, Delhi I, Surinder Singh Fauji, am an Ex-serviceman. I have served in the Corps of Signals of the Indi…

:T: WHO ARE SIKHS? By Manvir Singh Khalsa I am a Sikh! I am born and brought up this county. The turban and unshorn hair is part of the Sikh uniform. No-one believes me. They think I am part of the Taliban. They think I am an Arab. They think I am supporting terrorism. I keep telling everybody: “No! I am a Sikh! Sikhs are not part of the Taliban. Sikhs are not Muslims. Sikhs are not Arabs.” “Are you part of Islam” people ask? “Are you an offshoot of Hinduism” others say. “I have never heard of Sikhs” says another. Sikhs are a distinct people.Sikhs are a distinct nation. Sikhi is a distinct religion of peace, love and equality for whol…
