"If you cover your arm in oil and stick it in a sack of sesame seed, and if a musllaman takes as many oaths as the number of sesame seeds stuck to your arm..................... still never trust him!" I have heard this by 2 sikhs till now.... Guru Gobind Singh ji were helped by muslims also , though many tyrants were muslims at that time . Peer Buddh shah , Nabi Khan & Gani Khan , I think the list is endless ...! This apparent "hate" thing can be applied similarly to hindus since they broke their oaths on cow and counting hindus as enemies of khalsa - the list is also long !

The unstruck sound current of the Shabad vibrates and resounds in the Tenth Gate; the Ambrosial Naam trickles down there. ||2||[1002-6] The Dasm dwar appears in the Granth sahib at many places. I shall be garteful if members can throw some light on this.

Here is a nice Sakhi of Guru Nanak Dev Ji for a Friday afternoon. On one of his travels Guru Ji came to a town and stopped at the house of an old Sikh called Chundhwadi. He was very poor and was in a fluster as to what food to place in front of Guru Ji. He went to the local town not knowing what to do. While he was there he saw a gathering of people and went to see what was happening. It was a wrestling match and the local Nawab was parading his champion. Now, the champion was called Maskeen and was tall and muscular and was undefeated. He stood while the proud Nawab challenged all the town if there was any person who would take on his champion. Maskeen strode into th…

The mind is perhaps the most powerful tool we have in this world, and more often than not can be the sole thing to prevent us from walking on the path of Sikhi. It’s a tough game to play with the mind, but we just need to have faith, and push… Thought I would share this with you. At times during our bhagti, we find our mind wondering, thinking things that we never imagined we’d think – things that we don’t even realise enter our consciousness. – We suddenly remember that we have a million and one other things to be getting on with instead of our paath. We start to plan what we’re going to do once we’ve finished our paath – heck, sometimes we start thinking about what w…

Japji sahib is the first morning prayer of the Sikhs, here is the breakdown of it .....really beutiful..read on ...... The Mul Mantra is a fate killer. It removes the fate and changes the destiny to complete prosperity. The first pauri is an antidote to depression. It will lift you from the deepest depression, insecurity, nightmares and loss. The second pauri imparts patience and stability. The third pauri transforms insufficiency, turns depression into elevation and transforms low self-esteem into complete self confidence. The fourth pauri blesses those trapped in feelings of poverty and lack of means. It blasts through the trap of these feelings like …

I have a dukh bhanjani sahib gutka and i have the audio too but i read on the first page of the gutka something about if someone has a disease(rog) they're suppose to do X number of paaths during amrit vela and something about having water in a bata while ur doing it. i just wanted to clear some doubts before i recited this bani for the first time: 1)Does it matter what time this paath is read? 2)Is it important to have the water in a bata while doing it the last question is gonna sound really dumb but 3)If u dont have any diseases and u dont consider yourself a person with dukh , can u still recite this bani? ANOTHER QUESTION Some have said that Asa di // is a…
