http://zenhabits.net/2007/05/handbook-for-life-52-tips-for-happiness-and-productivity/ Handbook for Life: 52 Tips for Happiness and Productivity This is something I've been wanting to write for some time — a Handbook for Life. Now, is there any handbook that can be a guide to every single person? Of course not. This is just a list of tips that I think will help many people in life — some of them common-sense tips that we often forget about. Consider this guide a reminder. It'll also become apparent from the links in this handbook that I've written about this stuff before. In essence, this site is a bigger version of this handbook. But I wanted to put them all in one pl…

Bhagat Ravidaas jee, poet and Divine mystic, was born on 24th February 1378CE to Bhai Maan Daas jee and Mata Dhurbinia jee. They lived near the city of Varanasi. Bhagat jee was born in a so-called low-caste family of "Chamaars", whose profession was making leather and shoes. Gradually he started spending most of his time in the sangat (company) of saints and Sadhus and built himself a thatched hut wherein he received and entertained wandering holy people. Many stories became current about Bhagat jee's simplicity and holy nature. According to general belief, he was a follower of Bhagat Swami Ramanand jee sahib. In spite of his so-called low caste, Bhagat Ravidaas jee rose…

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH (The sakhi has been split into two parts) It is about a sikh called almast and Satguru Sri Guru Har Gobind Sahib ji Maharaj. There was a Sikh called Almast, which means enthusiast. In his wanderings he arrived at that part of the district of Pilibhit where there had been built a Gurudwara to commemorate Guru Nanak Dev Jis visit. Guru Nanak Dev Ji, had left his mark of his five fingers on every leaf of a pipal tree there, and made sweet the bitter fruit of a soap nut tree some forty miles to the east of it. Some Jogis, who had now taken possession, wanted to root up the Guru's pipal, name the Gurudwara after Gorakh-nath, and …

We hear this term attributed to mahaan Gurmukhs every now and then. "Kamaaee waaley". What exactly does this mean? Does it refer to doing hours and hours of Bani each day, or does it refer to those who have done a lot of Naam Simran for several hours a day? Does it refer to those who have KEPT Rehit or who have LIVED Rehit? Is it those GurSikhs who applied Gurbani to every aspect of their lives or those whose lives reflected Gurbani itself? This is a genuine question and only those who have an idea are requested to post. Others like me can read and learn.

This is from another sikhi forum. Waheguru Ji Ka khalsa, Waheguru Ji ki Fateh Gurmukh pyaare Bhai Sahib Sant Singh Ji Maskeen has asked me about what happened on the 5th (implying fifth of June 1984). Sarkar (meaning himself) saw a lot and I have been asked to talk about the 5th. Because on that day at 7.30 I went to Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. There Mahapursh (Jarnail Singh Ji) Khalsa Bhinderanwale, with Baba Jarnail Singh Ji I had his darshan (saw him) and I gave out a bachan (order) as well. The time was roughly 7.30, and there were a lot of bullets flying about. After I met Sant Ji, I went to the inside of Sri Darbar Sahib, to see if the rehraas would be carried out by g…
