I am confused, this is a underrated event in history where Jathedar Baba Sahib Singh ji Kaladhari was kicked out of Sri Akal Thakt by SGPC, there are so many accounts of it.He is said to have been ousted with Kartar Singh Chibbar and SGPC using bibian to abuse him and he is said to have been hurt badly. The SGPC have a totally different account of them being intoxicated and taking over Akal Thakt even other Nihang jathedbanian joining in. Who were the baddies? And is it true Baba Sahib Singh Ji support shastar puja and that's why there were differences between him and SGPC? What contributions did nihangs actually make during british raj as he said to be patriotized by nih…

Ok, first of all, don't take this thread too seriously.. I'm just wondering if Kaurs can wear skirts (i don't mean miniskirts but something of an appropriate length) or dresses. The only times i've seen sikh women wearing skirt (or lengha or whatever) is in some wedding pictures. Is there some unspoken rule that prohibits wearing skirts? And that we should only wear pants? Would wearing a skirt be seen as something un-sikh? Is there some history behind it? I was thinking that it might partly be because Kaurs are supposed to be warriors and it would be difficult to fight and ride a horse in a skirt. I've also heard at least sarees being clearly condemned because it's a…

I hope you can all guide me on the path. Here's some critical questions I have around Sikhi that I need clarification on please. If you could provide sources also so I can fact check I would sincerely appreciate it. Q. What times are the 3 main prayers performed between and how long do they take to recite? I work within the technology sector across different time zones and I struggle for time with a new born and I'd like to know if there are ma…

'Khalsa Panth Parkash' is a beautiful book by Gurwinder Singh nangli. It can be bought at: https://csjs.com/shop/khalsa-panth-parkash/ In this book, meanings and explanation of some compositions from Sarbloh Granth Sahib is done. There is a composition of Sarbloh Granth called 'das grahi' and 'das tyagi'. In it Dasmesh pita tells 10 virtues Khalsa shud adopt and 10 vices Khalsa shud abstain from. After this Guru Sahib writes that He has done TEEKA of Krishan's Bhagwad Gita for the glory of the saints.

Glorious Shahidi of Mata Basant Kaur jee INTRODUCTION Details of Mata Basant Kaur jee’s life are not known. Some writer has written that Sikhs have created more history than any other faith but have failed to record their history. This statement is so true. The glorious days of Khalsa were in the eighteenth century (1700s) but during this time, the issue for Khalsa was not of recording history but of their survival. Mata jee’s date of birth is not known but it is written that she got married to Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh jee at a very early age (when she was in her teens). Her name prior to taking amrit was Seeto Baayee. After amrit her husband’s name was changed from Ma…

People in dead end jobs (political correctness being "Level entry" jobs), how can u give your work a meaningful method?? By doing at least a few baanias BUT IN YOUR MIND! Everyday. Could be 4 Japji Sahibs spread out throughout the day or 8 Jaap Sahibs as just examples. Of course if anyone comes up to u n start talking DO talk back to them. Pause your recitation, then commence from the tukht u were at. Now, I mentioned dead end jobs; machine operators, overlockers, pressers, but semi-skills jobs too! Chef, cook, warehouse workers, soldering workers maybe even drivers too. Driving can b quite hard t focus unless u do recitation a bit loud. ANYWAYS as for the res…

There are several different views on this, and since most of sangat here is from England, fortunately residence to sachkhand niwasi Giani Gurdev Singh ji, Giani Pritam Singh Likhari ji and other prominent singhs of jatha bhindran, I was wondering if anyone had heard something of the sort from a singh etc., there are people saying Vadde Mahapurkh used to consume jhatka once and degh as well until becoming mukhi o…
